Full textIn the second half of the 20th century, work undertaken in the field of curriculum sociology by Anglo-Saxon and after European researchers made it possible to question the legitimacy of curricular knowledge, in particular its socially constructed character. Some studies have shown that there are variations in teaching content depending on the social composition of the school public. In other words, researches have apprehended the unequal effects of curriculum selection by highlighting a hierarchy of knowledge through a hierarchy of students. The aim of this study is to examine the manufacturing processes of inequalities by and in schools as part of physical education (PE) lessons. By drawing on students between 11 and 15 from socially contrasting schools in France and in the French part of Belgium, we tried to show that in PE, school maintained a social sorting role, conducive to cultural arbitrariness and symbolic violence. First, ethnographic observations as well as semi-directive interviews indicated that through curricular choices and the internal structuring of the discipline, teachers could reinforce or even aggravate school inequalities between students and have an impact on their well-being. This was corroborated by the procedure of Condorcet (comparison by pairs survey), which found that some of the most commonly used practice modalities in PE - performance and showing - were perceived as the most stressful by students. Secondly, after having identified with the help of sociometry survey that groups chosen by the students in PE pursued a sociological endogamy logic, we conducted several experiments, some of which used game theory to observe that in vivo, institutional choices were vectors of stress, ill-being and violence for some students

Full textWith "transfer in education" being our subject matter, and after showing how far we already got on the issue, the problem will consist in exploring areas brimming with the notion of transfer. Conceptualization by revealing transfers of conceptions, beings, things, capacities and feelings from one state or spot to another, expresses the multi-referential feature of this notion. The choice of physical education is just one way to tackle the complexity of the problem. In a response to the fundamental question of knowing how transfers bring efficiency and optimisation to skills, the hypotheses will be built on motive education. We will track transfers of common attitudes in physical education by analysing emotions, gestures, physiognomy, and the non-verbal. These attitudes will help us build didactic transfers and then permanent principles that we will bring into effect during the emotional regulation of the class. The last part of the research will be dedicated to the transfer of basic motive abilities to physical and sportive activities. This part will base the connection between psycho motive gifts and the future gestural capacities. The gathering and processing of data will be organized about an epistomologic reflection on methods and tools adapted to a hypothetico-deductive reasoning. Mainly collected during the direct

Full textThe problematic of this research is born from questions about academic teacher's least interest for experimental didactics into sport graduate discipline (the french name is : sciences et techniques des activites physiques et sportives : s. T. A. P. S. ), which has historically to form physical education teachers. The first point of the research studies the meanings of de the word "didactics", it's development as doman of study in sport graduate discipline, and the objections which are made to it. The second point is composed by an analysis of interviews to compare situations of fundamentals didactics as domains of study in differents graduates disciplines. The third point deliveries the results of a questionary about didactics addressed all the teachers of sport graduate discipline

Full textAs one considers the fields of physical education and sports (Eps), one is struck by an image that is both multi-faceted and confused. The various interpretations and practices of these two areas, and the differences which often separate them, make an understanding of them as a school discipline very difficult. Starting with this factual observation, the dissertation develops a threefold theoretical examination: the institutional role and the definition of physical education; the thematic of embodiement in education; and the investigation of complex phenomena. This makes for a better understanding of the complexity of physical education. From this there emerges a conception of the rule of development by corporal experience and embodiement. The exploration of the field of physical education is also realized by the study of the meanings given it by those who practice it. Extensive and intensive inquiries (including interviews, scales and questionnaires) are presented. It appears that the paradox of physical education, "identical and different" compared to other academic disciplines is used by high school students and EPS professors according to different modes. The theoretical investigations, as well as those based on inquiries; allow us to affirm that the pertinence of physical education as educational development is fundamentally linked to corporal experience and embodiement. In order for its educational richness to manifest itself, it is essential that, at the pragmatic level, physical education develop modes of existence in which activities, embodiement, and reflexion on activities, are integrated in the formation of the human personality

Full textTo encircle the conditions of emergence of the school discipline consists, from the programs, in questioning the process to understand choices made by the official speech. A first part kicks away an epistemological point of view through the study of the Instructions and the programs appeared between 1981 and 2000. It puts in evidence the juxtaposition of different conceptions through the discipinary matrix. A second part leans on the sociology of the curriculum to clarify the universes of thought which cross the programs. The theoretical instability finds its origin in the stakes in power of organized groups. The anthropology of the sciences consists in tracking the actors through the various institutions and in finding their stategies, putting in light of the filiations and the alliances constituting socio-technical networks. This functioning acts in the national plan to press on the programs and in the local plan to steer the various trainings

Full textThe problems involved in the passage from games to sports begin to become apparent in the physical education taught in the elementary school. A pupil's age, sex, social class and the extent of his preschooling will all influence his perception of this evolution. At the same time, in physical education, the teacher modifies his method of teaching in relation to that used in the classroom. The teacher leaves aside his more rigorous pedagogical function and becomes more of an activity leader. The learners are more or less sensitive to this role change; the four parameters defined above make certain explanations and interpretations possible
