The purpose of this research is to help understand the key relationships in an evolving economic structure that are driving resource use and greenhouse gas emissions in Australia. The approach involves looking at the factors and relationships that underpin economic growth in Australia. This research seeks to understand the changes in these factors by taking a historical perspective to the determinants of environmental impact through an investigation of structural changes over a period of 30 years. Techniques were developed to assess the contribution from each of these sources and a survey was carried out in the Perth Metropolitan Area to determine the annual effective dose equivalent from environmental radiation to members of the public.

It is suggested that in a context of diminishing economic power and political influence, the prevailing model of masculinity has disabled the capacity of many farm men to manage change proactively. It is argued that evidence of a necessary change from instrumental, to-values and feelings-based engagement with huma

Forensic anthropologists and archaeologists have been increasingly engaged, at police request, in investigations to locate and recover buried human remains ( Rodriguez and Bass, 1985 ; France et al., 1992 ; Owsley, 1995 ; Hunter et al., 1996 ). Current search methods are derived from archaeology, geology, botany, geography and taphonomy. However, there is limited testing of search techniques, particularly over graves containing human bodies, and few studies that have examined the appearance of gravesites over several years. In the absence of such studies in Australia, eight shallow burials ( s

My aim in undertaking this research was to identify those specific aspects that would be incorporated within any design process in designing for blast loadings to above ground structures in the Australian environment. Structural engineers are presently forced to use Standards, Codes and Technical Manuals to apply blast loadings to above ground structures during the design process from overseas countries such as America and the United Kingdom. Australian Standards are available to design for design loadings such as dead loads, live loads, wind loads, and earthquake loads but not blast loads. My

Abstract:
Weather and climate are truly arresting in Australia's far north. They set the 'Top End' - the northernmost parts of the Northern Territory - apart; not only from 'temperate' Australia, but also from other tropical locales. Weather and climate are integral to the experience of the place. Authoritative histories of the Northern Territory, with justification, routinely discuss its weather and climate. They indicate the ineluctable physical parameters that bound human activity in this region and which also set the stage for the dramas of human history played out there. In this study weather an
