Abstract:

Abstract:
English Title: Effect of phytoaccumulation of lead, iron, zinc on Poaceae in Kribi and its surroundingsThe challenge of preserving biodiversity in the context of modernization of industries remains relevant in coastal areas, especially in Kribi, where demography is galloping while pollutants increase. To control the effects of heavy metals in the metabolism of some macrophytes in Kribi, four sample collection sites were identified with two Poaceae, Panicum maximum and Echinochloa colona. With an average water temperature of 25.25 ± 0.17 °C, n = 16; the thermal sensitivity of E. colona leaves is found in relation to P. maximum. The more acidic Kribi site (pH = 4.16 ± 0.02) also contains more lead (1.04 ± 0.01 mg/l). Correlated with chlorophyll and leaves of P. maximum, the amount of chlorophyll accumulated and the number of leaves decrease with increasing lead. This metal causes leaf chlorosis, necrotic lesions, yellowing and foliage drying, for these two Poaceae. Iron is observed more in Bidou stream and increases with maximum P. chlorophyll. The average variation of zinc in the study is 0.11 mg / l and the accumulation of zinc prevents the development of P. maximum leaves. Keywords: Chlorophyll, heavy metals, Kribi, Poaceae, pollutants.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract Relocation of iron ions in microporous Fe-FER, (Al+Fe)-FER, Fe-MFI (FER: ferrierite, MFI: silicalite) and in mesoporous Fe-MCM-41 ferrisilicate (MCM: Mobile Crystalline Material) samples was followed during redox treatments primarily by tool of the in situ Mössbauer spectroscopy. Coexistence of various Fe3+ and Fe2+ species is demonstrated. In microporous Fe-FER and Fe-MFI existence of combined μ-oxo iron dimers, Fe3+FW-O-Fe2+EFW can be proposed. The presence of these dimers can easily be correlated with catalytic effect shown in certain oxidation processes. Structural rearrangement can also be revealed in mesoporous Fe-MCM-41 which result in improvement of catalytic performance in CO oxidation.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The significance of the mineral elements in animal nutrition cannot be over emphasized. The presence of mineral elements in animal feed is vital for adequate the metabolic processes. Sixteen (16) crossbred weaned pigs aged eight weeks weighing between 6-7 kg were used in experiment to investigate the effect of feeding varying dietary levels of toasted soybean hull on macro and micro minerals in blood of weaned pigs. The pigs were randomly allotted to four treatments T1, T2, T3 and T4 containing 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% of toasted soybean hull respectively. Water was supplied ad libitum. At the end of feeding trial, two pigs per treatment were selected and blood collected for analysis. Results showed that there were significant (p>0.05) differences in macro minerals. Calcium value ranged from 10.40mg/dL in T1 to11.05mg/dL in T4. Phosphorus ranged from 13.20mg/dL to 17.54mg/dL. Potassium value ranged from 4.65mg/dL to 5.65mg/dL. Magnesium ranged from (3.98mg/dL to 4.80mg/dL). Sodium value ranged from (137.50mg/dL to 143.50mg/dL). Iron, copper and manganese values were significantly (p<0.05) influenced by the dietary treatments with the values ranging from 57.50 – 48.00mg/kg, 42.34 – 31.87mg/kg and 10.95 – 8.85mg/kg respectively. For zinc, the value ranged from 1.04mg/kg to 1.30mg/kg. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that toasted soybean hull could be fed to weaned pigs up to 15% inclusion level without any adverse effects on the macro and micro minerals composition of weaned pigs.

Abstract:
Rutherford backscattering (RBS)-ion channeling, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS) have been used to determine the structure of α–Al2O3 implanted with iron at room temperature. Changes produced by post-implantation annealing in oxidizing and reducing atmospheres were followed using the same techniques. Implantation of 160 keV Fe at room temperature produces a damaged but crystalline microstructure for fluences as high as 1 × 1017 Fe/cm2. The iron resides in a variety of local environments: three Fe2+ components, one Fe0 component, and two Fe4+ components. The relative amount of each component varies with implantation fluence. Only the Fe0 component seems to be associated with second-phase formation. In this case, 2 nm diameter α-iron particles were detected by TEM studies. Recovery of implantation-induced disorder in the Al- and oxygen-sublattices occurs in two stages for annealing in oxygen and in one continuous stage for hydrogen-annealing. The end state for iron is Fe3+ for oxygen anneals and Fe0 for hydrogen anneals. The precipitated phases observed are those to be expected from the equilibrium phase diagrams.

Abstract:
This study examined the mediating effect of intimate partner violence (IPV) between alcohol use and relational satisfaction by the Actor Partner Interdependence Model (APIM). For this study, data were drawn from the 13th -wave Korea Welfare Panel data and a total of 2,263 married couples were included in the analysis. SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 24 were used to analyze data and the Actor Partner Interdependence Mediation Model (APIMeM) examined the mediating effect. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the actor effect and the partner effect on the relationship of alcohol use and partner violence were all verified to be positive effects. Second, the actor effect and the partner effect on the relationship of partner violence and relational satisfaction were all verified to be negative effects. Third, comparison of the actor effect and partner effect between the husband and wife showed that the partner effect in which alcohol use to partner violence was greater in the husband than in the wife. In addition, both the actor and partner effect of violent reducing their relational satisfaction were greater in wives than in husbands. The findings of this study suggest that IPV has a mediating role between couples’ alcohol use and the relational satisfaction and husband’s violent behavior has more negative effect on the quality of the relationship than the wife’s violent behavior.

Abstract:
This study examined the effects of eating alone, meal type, and dietary lifestyles on healthy eating capability of one-person households. We analyzed the mediation effects of weekly frequencies of each meal type taken by oneperson households between eating habits such as eating alone and dietary lifestyles of one-person households and healthy eating capability. We also analyzed data from the 2019 Food Consumption Behavior Survey using a sample of 688 one-person households. Factor analysis, latent profile analysis, structural equation model analysis was conducted; direct and indirect effects of independent variables were tested using bootstrap method. The major results were as follows. Frequency of eating alone was about 10 times a week on average; one-person households had home-made meals about 12 times a week, for restaurant meals, 4 times, for delivered/take-out food, 0.39 times, and for other types, 0.44 times. Weekly frequencies of eating alone and meal types taken by one-person households were significantly different among the different socio-demographic groups. Dietary lifestyle was classified into four classes: traditional, health ignorant, food lifestyle ignorant, and balanced. Eating alone and dietary lifestyle had a significant effect on weekly frequency of each meal type. Frequencies of eating alone, balanced dietary lifestyle, and taking home-made meals had a positive direct effect on healthy eating capability, and frequency of taking delivered or take-out food and food consumption ignorant lifestyle had a negative direct effect. Eating alone, balanced and traditional dietary lifestyles had a positive indirect effect through the meal type; however, watching Mug-bang had a negative indirect effect.

Abstract:
Despite their crucial importance, limited information exists about how livestock are affected by climate change in Nigeria. Changing climatic patterns are manifested through occurrences like abrupt temperature increase, dwindling rainfall pattern, rise in spells of drought and flood. These conditions exert different effects across the geographical landscape of the country, which can broadly be classed as Semiarid, Sahel and Derived Savannah, respectively as well as Forest and Montane. Livestock provide humans with the full complement of amino acids, which are the only known natural suppliers of Vitamin B12 and equally supply iron, calcium, iodine and zinc. In addition, livestock accounts for 40% of Agricultural Gross Domestic Product and significantly contributes to enhancing rural livelihood. Stress conditions are induced in livestock by harsh weather conditions that reduce the feed available to them as well as impede growth rate and reproduction efficiency and disease incidence which may eventually result in death. In the light of the livestock benefits to humanity, it is necessary to devise means of making their climate resilient. Some of the proven strategies include animal genetic improvement for stress tolerance, growing disease resistant, early maturing and drought tolerant crops, selecting for and rearing climate tolerant animal species and breeds.

Abstract:
This study examined the effects of negative parenting attitudes on adolescents’ academic helplessness through the mediating effects of social withdrawal and smartphone dependency. Data from the panel study of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 (KCYPS 2018) collected by the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI) was used to examine the research model. The subjects of the study consisted of 2,541 first grade middle school students (1,375 boys and 1,166 girls). Confirmatory factor analysis [CFA], structural equation modeling [SEM], and bootstrapping analysis were conducted by means of SPSS 25.0, AMOS 25.0, and Hayes’s PROCESS programs to examine the serial multiple mediating effects. The study results were as follows. First, negative parenting attitude had a direct effect on adolescents’ academic helplessness. This implies that adolescents who perceive their parents’ attitudes to be high in coercive, rejective, and chaotic levels indicate that they can easily get exhausted in academic settings. Second, negative parenting attitudes had an indirect effect on adolescents’ academic helplessness through social withdrawal and smartphone dependency. The results suggest that a high level of negative parenting attitude leads to higher social withdrawal and smartphone dependency that influences adolescents’ academic helplessness.

Abstract:
This study examined the dual mediating effects of preschoolers’ executive function and counterfactual thinking in the relationship between maternal reflective functioning and preschoolers’ higher-order thinking. Participants included 293 preschoolers and their mothers in Daegu city and Gyeongsang province. The mothers completed questionnaires regarding their reflective functioning, preschoolers’ executive function, and creative thinking. Teachers completed questionnaires regarding preschoolers’ critical thinking and caring thinking. Preschoolers’ counterfactual thinking was measured by interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis with SPSS 25.0. Path analysis and bootstrapping were used with AMOS 25.0 program. Also, specific indirect effect were analyzed using AMOS user-defined estimand function. The primary results of this study are as follows. Maternal reflective functioning had an indirect effect on preschoolers’ critical thinking and caring thinking through preschoolers’ executive function and counterfactual thinking; however, maternal reflective functioning had no indirect effect on preschoolers’ creative thinking through preschoolers’ executive function and counterfactual thinking. This study revealed that maternal reflective functioning and preschoolers’ executive function and counterfactual thinking need to be considered simultaneously to explain the level of preschoolers’ higher-order thinking. The results highlight the dual mediating effects of preschoolers’ executive function and counterfactual thinking in the relationship between maternal reflective functioning and preschoolers’ higher-order thinking.

Abstract:
We present results of first-principles calculations of structural, magnetic, and electronic properties of small Fe clusters. It is shown that, while the lowest-energy isomers of Fe3 and Fe4 obtained in the framework of density functional theory within the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) are characterized by Jahn-Teller-like distortions away from the most regular shapes (which is in agreement with other works), these distortions are reduced when electron correlation effects are considered explicitly as within the GGA+U approach. At the same time, the magnetic moments of the clusters are enhanced with respect to the pure GGA case, resulting in maximal moments (in the sense of Hund’s rules) of 4 μB per atom for the ground state structures of Fe3 and Fe4, and a total moment of 18 μB for Fe5. This already happens for moderate values of the Coulomb repulsion parameter U̴ 2.0 eV and is explained by changes in the electronic structures of the clusters.

Abstract:
This study examined the factors influencing the psychosocial well-being of working mothers of preschool children. It investigated the mediation effects of sociological ambivalence in the relations of psychosocial well-being with a family-supportive work environment and with the gender-role stereotype of family members. In addition, it tested the moderated mediation effects of the traditional gender-role attitudes in workplace and meta-mood. Data were obtained from 476 working mothers of preschool children. Using SPSS 25.0, Cronbach's alpha reliability was calculated, descriptive statistics were generated, and Pearson’s correlation analysis performed. Mediation and moderated mediation analyses were carried out using the SPSS process macro 3.5 program. The main results were as follows: first, sociological ambivalence mediated the relationship between psychosocial well-being and a family-supportive work environment. The mediating effect of sociological ambivalence was moderated by emotional attention, a sub-factor of meta-mood. Second, sociological ambivalence mediated the relationship between psychosocial well-being and the genderrole stereotype of family members. In addition, the traditional gender-role attitudes in workplace moderated the mediating effect of sociological ambivalence on the relationship between the gender-role stereotype of family members and psychosocial well-being. These results can be used to inform discussion on changing policy and education to improve the psychosocial well-being of working mothers with preschool children.

Abstract:
To help korean fashion brands establish CSR activities in the chinese market in the future, this study investigated the influence of korean fashion brands’ CSR fit with Chinese Consumers on Consumer Satisfaction and brand attitude, with the moderating effect of ethnocentrism. An online survey was conducted with 20-39 year-old consumers in China from April 18 to April 30, 2021. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 24.0 and Amos 24.0. The results of this paper are as follows. First, environmental CSR fit had the greatest impact on consumer satisfaction, followed by financial CSR fit and social contribution CSR fit. Second, environmental CSR fit and social contribution CSR fit had positive effects on brand attitude, while financial CSR fit did not have a positive effect on brand attitude. Third, as customer satisfaction has a favorable effect on brand attitude, it can be inferred that the greater the satisfaction customers feel for a Korean fashion brand in China, the more positive the attitude they develop toward Korean brands. Fourth, there was no significant difference between groups that had a high and low degree of ethnocentrism, confirming that ethnocentrism does not have a moderating effect on consumer satisfaction. On the other hand, in the relationship between environmental and social contribution CSR fit and brand attitude, there was a greater impact in the low ethnocentrism group compared with the high ethnocentrism group, which verifies the moderating effect of ethnocentrism.

Abstract:
This study examined the effects of moral disengagement (cognitive restructuring and blaming the victim) and selfcontrol on cyberbullying perpetration and investigated if self-control moderated the relationship between moral disengagement (cognitive restructuring and blaming the victim) and cyberbullying perpetration. Participants in the study consisted of 551 middle school students (273 boys and 278 girls) from five middle schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Cyberbullying perpetration, moral disengagement and self-control were measured using the Bullying/ Victimization Questionnaire, the Mechanisms of Moral Disengagement Scale, and the Self-Control Scale for children and adolescents. Data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics and a hierarchical regression analysis. The moderating effect of self-control was analyzed using procedures proposed by Baron and Kenny (1986). The results indicated that both levels of cognitive restructuring and blaming the victim increased cyberbullying perpetration whereas the level of self-control decreased cyberbullying perpetration. In addition, self-control moderated the effect of cognitive restructuring on cyberbullying perpetration. The influence of cognitive restructuring on cyberbullying perpetration was greater when the level of self-control was low, compared to when it was high.

Abstract:
This study investigated the association between children’s perceptions of autonomy support from mothers and teachers in relation to academic procrastination. It also examined the role of self-efficacy for self-regulated learning in mediating these effects. The sample comprised 372 fifth and sixth grade elementary school students from Seoul, Korea. Each completed a questionnaire regarding mothers’ and teachers’ autonomy support, children’s self-regulated learning efficacy, and academic procrastination. The results indicated that whereas mothers’ autonomy support had a direct effect on children’s academic procrastination, teachers’ support did not. In other words, children who perceived higher levels of autonomy support from mothers tended to exhibit less academic procrastination. Regarding indirect paths, children who perceived higher levels of mothers’ and teachers’ autonomy support displayed greater efficacy for selfregulated learning, which corresponded to lower levels of academic procrastination. The discussion highlights the vital roles of autonomy support from mothers and teachers in enhancing children’s feelings of effective self-regulated learning and encouraging them to complete academic tasks. Furthermore, the present study considered not only outward behavioral factors but also the underlying cognitive and affective aspects of delaying behavior that underpin the effects of self-regulated learning efficacy and autonomy support of mothers and teachers on academic procrastination.

All ferrous complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy. In addition, the structure of Fe3 has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, which showed the iron center to adopt a distorted square pyramidal geometry with the saturated sections of the fused six- and seven-membered carbocycles to be cis-configured. In combination with either MAO or MMAO, Fe1–Fe5 exhibited exceptionally high activities for ethylene polymerization (up to 15.86×106 gPE mol−1 Fe h−1 at 40°C (MMAO) and 9.60×106 gPE mol−1 Fe h−1 at 60°C (MAO)) and produced highly linear polyethylene (HLPE, Tm≥128°C) with a wide range in molecular weights; in general, the MMAO-promoted polymerizations were more active. Irrespective of the cocatalyst employed, the 2,6-Me2-substituted Fe1 and Fe4 proved the most active while the more sterically hindered 2,6-i-Pr2Fe3 the least but afforded the highest molecular weight polyethylene (Mw: 65.6–72.6 kg mol-1). Multinuclear NMR spectroscopic analysis of the polymer formed using Fe4/MMAO at 40°C showed a preference for fully saturated chain ends with a broad bimodal distribution a feature of the GPC trace (Mw/Mn=13.4). By contrast, using Fe4/MAO at 60°C a vinyl-terminated polymer of lower molecular weight (Mw=14.2 kg mol−1) was identified that exhibited a unimodal distribution (Mw/Mn=3.8). Moreover, the amount of aluminoxane cocatalyst employed, temperature, and run time were also found to be influential on the modality of the polymer.

Abstract:
The present experiment addressed the effects of different iron (Fe) concentrations in the nutrient solution supplied as Fe-HBED, i.e., 0.02 (Fe0, control), 1.02 (Fe1), and 2.02 mmol L−1 (Fe2) on lettuce (‘Nauplus’ and ‘Romana’) yield and compositional traits. This experiment was carried out in a greenhouse using an open soilless cultivation system, at the experimental farm of the University of Catania (Sicily, Italy: 37°24′31.5″ N, 15°03′32.8″ E, 6 m a.s.l.). The addition of Fe-HBED reduced the plants’ aboveground biomass (−18%, averaged over Fe1 and Fe2), but promoted their dry matter content (+16% in Fe2). The concentration of chlorophylls, carotenoids, anthocyanins, and antioxidants peaked at Fe2, along with the antioxidant capacity and concentration of stress indicators in leaves. The Fe content in leaves was promoted in the Fe-treated plants (+187% averaged over Fe1 and Fe2). ‘Romana’ showed the highest Fe accumulation (reaching 29.8 mg kg−1 FW in Fe1), but ‘Nauplus’ proved a higher tolerance to the Fe-derived oxidative stress. The Fe2 treatment maximized leaf N, P, K, S, and Zn contents, while those of Ca, Mg, Mn, and B peaked at Fe1. Overall, our study revealed the effectiveness of Fe-HBED in increasing the Fe content and improving the nutritional quality of lettuce grown in soilless cultivation systems.

Abstract:
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) is an effective therapy for Parkinson’s disease (PD). Nevertheless, DBS has been associated with certain nonmotor, neuropsychiatric effects such as worsening of emotion recognition from facial expressions. In order to investigate facial emotion recognition (FER) after STN DBS, we conducted a literature search of the electronic databases MEDLINE and Web of science. In this review, we analyze studies assessing FER after STN DBS in PD patients and summarize the current knowledge of the effects of STN DBS on FER. The majority of studies, which had clinical and methodological heterogeneity, showed that FER is worsening after STN DBS in PD patients, particularly for negative emotions (sadness, fear, anger, and tendency for disgust). FER worsening after STN DBS can be attributed to the functional role of the STN in limbic circuits and the interference of STN stimulation with neural networks involved in FER, including the connections of the STN with the limbic part of the basal ganglia and pre- and frontal areas. These outcomes improve our understanding of the role of the STN in the integration of motor, cognitive, and emotional aspects of behaviour in the growing field of affective neuroscience. Further studies using standardized neuropsychological measures of FER assessment and including larger cohorts are needed, in order to draw definite conclusions about the effect of STN DBS on emotional recognition and its impact on patients’ quality of life.

Abstract:
Present work aimed to study the influence of dietary ginger inclusion in female mice on gastrointestinal integrity, hepatic condition and metabolic parameters. Thirty female mice (18± 2 g) were assigned into 3 groups; control group fed standard rodents’ basal diet, ginger 2% and ginger 5% mice were basal diet supplemented with 2% and 5% ginger powder, respectively for 30 days. Weight gain, feed conversion (FCR) and efficiency (FER) ratios were recorded. Serum liver enzymes, lipid profile, total protein and albumin were measured beside estimation of hepatic reduced glutathione (GSH) and malondialdehyde (MDA). Gastric, intestinal and hepatic histopathology were performed as well as intestinal histomorphometry. Results revealed improvement in FCR, FER and most tested biochemical parameters, in 2% ginger group than control. Hepatic MDA and GSH were significantly (P<0.05) increased and decreased, respectively in 2% ginger group. However, ginger 5% group exhibited improvement in intestinal histomorphometry while adversely affected gastric mucosa and hepatic tissue histopathology. Also increased hepatic MDA and reduced GSH were prominent in 5% ginger group along with mild gastric and hepatic lesions. The administration of dietary ginger by 2% dose could be beneficial mice model however, increasing the dose to 5% could produce adverse effects on hepatic integrity and gastric mucosa.

Abstract:
The impact of the IFRS1 9 accounting standard on amplifying procyclical bank behaviour has been hotly debated since the introduction of the standard. This paper contributes to the debate by a unique simulation, in which we estimated, what the losses and capital position of the Hungarian banking system would have been during the 2008–2013 crisis episode if at international level subsequently adopted IFRS 9 had already been in effect at that time. Our results show that IFRS 9 would have led to the recognition of losses, which would have been more concentrated in the beginning of this crisis episode, (but not early enough, in the pre-crisis period). As a result, the banking system’s aggregated capital adequacy ratio would have been more than 20 per cent (2.7 percentage points) lower at the onset of the crisis (end of 2008) than it was in reality (9.1 per cent rather than 11.8 per cent). This could have forced bank owners to undertake capital increases sooner and in larger amounts or to push their banks towards even stronger deleveraging, i.e. towards more procyclical behaviour. Our results are in line with the findings in the literature that the introduction of IFRS 9 increases the procyclicality of banks’ impairments in such a manner that it shifts the recognition of impairments towards beginning of crises (but not towards pre-crisis periods!). Although the procyclical effect of IFRS 9 demonstrated in our simulation is quite large, this is attributable to the special depth and complexity of the 2008 crisis episode in Hungary, which involved a sovereign crisis, a banking crisis and a credit crunch at the same time. Thus, our results suggest that the procyclical impact of IFRS 9 can be more easily managed under ‘normal’ recession circumstances
