The main computationally expensive task of realistic computer graphics is the calculation of global illumination. Currently, most of the lighting simulation methods are based on various types of Monte Carlo ray tracing. One of them, the Langevin Monte Carlo ray tracing, generates samples using the time series of a system of the Langevin dynamics. The method seems to be very promising for calculating the global illumination. However, it remains poorly studied, while its analysis could significantly speed up the calculations without losing the quality of the result. In our work, we analyzed the

AbstractThe aim of the paper is to evaluate neutron shielding efficiency of ordinary concrete, heavy-weight concrete and geopolymer concrete modified with epoxy additive. Evaluation was based on neutron shielding efficiency calculations. Since the commonly used fast neutron effective removal cross-section calculation does not take into account thermal neutron absorption reactions, a method adopted from the fast neutron effective removal cross-section calculation based on the macroscopic cross-section calculation for compositions is therefore applied. The results confirmed that an efficient neutron shield requires a balanced mixture of light and heavy nuclei and polymer modification is a proper way for increasing neutron shielding efficiency.

Abstract:
As part of its Technical Cooperation "Energy Efficiency for Caribbean Water and Sanitation Companies", the Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Initiative (SECCI) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) financed the development of a regional methodology to improve energy efficiency and maintenance of water companies in Latin American and Caribbean countries. This methodology, developed by the consulting firms Econoler International and Alliance to Save Energy, focuses mainly on electromechanical efficiencies of water pumping systems in the Caribbean. This publication presents the calcula

Beavers. L51556 Pressure Loss in Compressor Yard Pipework. Pipeline Research Council International, Inc. (PRCI), 1987. http://dx.doi.org/10.55274/r0010212.

Full text
Abstract:
This handbook enables designers to reliably predict pressure losses in natural gas compressor and meter station yard piping under steady state flow conditions. Pressure loss data are presented in the form of non-dimensional pressure loss coefficients for a wide range of components. Many example calculation sare provided. Recommendations are also made on the installation of compressors to reduce pressure losses and increase efficiency. Also see related document, L51557.
