This study has focused on two main tasks: verifying the suitability of using stochastic frontier analysis on a transforming sector, and providing empirical evidence to explain the technical efficiency structure among farms in the time period 2000–2004. Two stochastic frontier model specifications were employed, the Battese and Coelli 1992 specification with the systematically time-varying inefficiency effect, and the Battese and Coelli 1995 one stage specification explaining technical inefficiency based on farm-specific variables. Our analyses were carried out at the commodity level,

Aim to conquer the low efficiency of the current auto-CVT actuated by hydraulic system, a new design was proposed based on the analysis of the energy loss, which used compounded disc spring clamp set and motorized actuation system. Through the special design of the compounded disc spring and the balance spring, the axial thrust was well counterpoised, thus it achieved the result that the actuation system could be droved by low power motor. The test results show that the CVT developed according to the new design can reduce the power consumption obviously and improve the power performance.

Drug development has many moving parts. Traditionally they are handled in a more sequential and segmented way. This has served us well due to relatively slow pace of drug development. As the pace of drug development becomes faster and faster, we need to think more in a holistic way. This is especially important due to the advancement of new technologies, which has upended the way how we generate and analyze data. We present a framework to identify integrated evidence opportunities in drug development and demonstrate these opportunities using some real examples.
