Abstract: The Student Employment System is a comprehensive web-based application designed to streamline and automate the process of managing student employment within an educational institution. This system aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the management of student employment, providing a centralized platform for students, employers, and administrators. The SES seeks to foster a more organized and efficient approach to managing student employment, creating a positive experience for both students and employers. Consider indivisible-object allocation with contracts, such as college admissions, where contracts specify majors. Can a designer guarantee a stable and (student) efficient matching? I show that contracts put stability and efficiency at odds; a necessary condition to ensure these properties is student-lexicographic priorities—schools must rank contracts from “second-tier” students consecutively. I present the weakest restriction guaranteeing stability and efficiency, and characterize necessary and sufficient conditions for any mechanism within a general class to deliver a stable and efficient

To train generalizable Reinforcement Learning (RL) agents, researchers recently proposed the Unsupervised Environment Design (UED) framework, in which a teacher agent creates a very large number of training environments and a student agent trains on the experiences in these environments to be robust against unseen testing scenarios. For example, to train a student to master the “stepping over stumps” task, the teacher will create numerous training environments with varying stump heights and shapes.
