Abstract:
The Eisenberg plot or hydrophobic moment plot methodology is one of the most frequently used methods of bioinformatics. Bioinformatics is more and more recognized as a helpful tool in Life Sciences in general, and recent developments in approaches recognizing lipid binding regions in proteins are promising in this respect. In this study a bioinformatics approach specialized in identifying lipid binding helical regions in proteins was used to obtain an Eisenberg plot. The validity of the Heliquest generated hydrophobic moment plot was checked and exemplified. This study indicates that the Eisen

The improvement in energy efficiency is recognized as one of the significant parameters for achieving our net-zero emissions target by 2050. One exciting area for development is conventional carbon capture technologies. Current amine absorption-based systems for carbon capture operate at suboptimal conditions resulting in an efficiency loss, causing a high operational expenditure. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative speciation of CO2-loaded alkanolamine systems and their interactions can improve the equipment design and define optimal operating conditions. In an era where sustainability becomes increasingly prominent it is clear that agricultural sources are playing an important role in this goal. Cereal science is a well-established research area when it comes to agricultural and food science related topics. Throughout the years a wealth of information has been gathered when it comes to cereals. Recent bioinformatics tools allow detailed scanning of cereal proteins and peptides. The approach presented in this paper will demonstrate a full identification and partial characterization of all potential helical lipid binding regions in a number of p

Background: Although sleep has been identified as an important modifiable risk factor for sports injury, the effect of decreased sleep on sports injuries in adolescents is poorly studied. Purpose: To systematically review published literature to examine if a lack of sleep is associated with sports injuries in adolescents and to delineate the effects of chronic versus acute lack of sleep. Methods: PubMed and EMBASE databases were systematically searched for studies reporting statistics regarding the relationship between sleep and sports injury in adolescents aged <19 years published between

Abstract:
A crucial variable in the analysis of fictional entertainment formats is the actor/character. The actors/characters that are analyzed vary according to the research interest (e.g., certain occupations, men/women, minorities). Studies often code (mostly on the level of the episode or movie) whether the character has a major or minor/supporting role in the TV-series or movie (e.g., Gerbner et al., 1980; Gietzen et al, 2017). If coding is done on the level of scenes, studies often differentiate between active characters (i.e., fictional characters that do or say something) and characters who are
