The aim of the thesis is to analyse how to measure an economic pillar of sustainable urban development when it is understood in terms of qualitative city development. This principly means achieving economic prosperity which does not lead to damage of the city areas and decrease the quality of life for its residents. This approach requires the creation of an appropriate set of indicators that will cover qualitative aspects of sustainable economic development. The first section summarizes existing approaches to the definition of sustainable development and ways of measuring both on the Czech and the international level. There are also defined basic characteristics of the urban development which are appropriate to express a qualitative development of the city. The second part is focused on existing ways in which sustainable development is measured, i.e. especially in the context of indicator sets. These are under detailed assessment which aim is to show how useful is to measure the economic sustainability from the qualitative point of view. In this part, the limits of using economic macro aggregates (especially Gross Domestic Product) is emphasized because there are still regarded as one of the key economic indicators of sustainable development. In the next part the thesis deals with the definition of economic prosperity and focuses on the characteristics typical for short, medium and long term perspective. Measurement of sustainable urban development in the short term is based on assessment of financial situation. From the medium-term point of view, it is crucial to assess how the city handles its property, i.e. mainly buildings and land. These property components are substantial for a further direction of city development. In the next section are designed indicators aimed at measuring the ability of the city to maintain a skilled workforce which is one of the most important conditions of long-term economic prosperity. The final theoretical part of the thesis is focused on how the long-term sustainable urban development is to be expressed in an economic way through the assessment of investments in urban infrastructure and its operational efficiency. The designed set of indicators is verified on case studies of three medium-sized Czech cities.

This thesis examines the development of selected regional airports in the Czech Republic. The first part of this research focuses on the general field of air transportation, and concentrates primarily on airports. More specifically, this thesis describes various aspects of the operations of an airport, paying particular attention to the economic features of airport operations and management. The second central part of this research is devoted to presenting a set of detailed case studies of three regional airports, namely Plzeň -- Líně, Vodochody and České Budějovice. This section of the dissertation describes and analyses the context, strength and weaknesses of each of these airports using a specific evaluation framework. The final part of this thesis concludes by outlining, in terms of the evidence presented, (1) the potential for further development of the three regional airport case studies, and (2) proposals for overcoming specific barriers to further growth.

This diploma thesis deals with the economic analysis Velkoobchod Heva, spol. s.r.o., which operates in the office and school supplies. The thesis consists of two main parts. The first part is devoted to economic analysis on the theoretical side.
On it then follows the practical part, which includes the performance of a selected company and its two main competitors, the results and overall assessment together with recommending proposals. The practical part, which draws on publicly available sources and internal corporate data lies in analyzing the economic and financial situation of the company by external methods and internal analysis, which monitors the time period between the years 2010-2014. The results of the main indicators of financial analysis are then compared with the industry and competitors, thus it was found that the company Heva achived worse results than competing firms selected and industry. Based on the results of positive and negative factors affecting the operation of the company have been prepared SWOT matrix. In conclusion, the results are interpretedand recommendations are designed to improve the situation of the company.

Aim of the thesis is to explain the relationship between competitiveness` concept and economic governance of the EU. The matter is whether the European Union, which has belonged to the most successful examples of regional integration, has strong and flexible tool for itself and for its member states to cope with changing conditions of the globalized world economy, demographic and environmental challenges and whether economic governance of the EU takes principles of competitiveness development into consideration and so application of these principles would make the EU economic governance more effective.

The dissertation focuses on the Vietnamese economy and its development during the time period from the end of the World War II until present. Its objective is to map and analyze the process of integration of Vietnam into the regional and global economic structures in the aforementioned time period and identify the main challenges of current Vietnamese economic development. The issues of deficient infrastructure, energy shortage and environmental pollution can all hinder further economic development in terms of trade and investment absorption capacity. Although many other developing countries face similar problems, in Vietnam the conditions had been aggravated by more than 30 years of war, socialist planned economy, division of the territory and long lasting economic isolation all resulting in inefficiencies in use of resources, division of labor and environmental devastation. Nevertheless, Vietnam skillfully uses the newly acquired regional network within the Association of South East Asian Nations as well as the advantages of deepening relationships with the economic centers in Europe and North America to further enhance trade, attract investment and raise development aid. With its outstanding record of high economic growth and dynamic development, Vietnam has proved the ability to employ its resources and comparative advantages to the full.

We live in the 21st century, when more than ever solves finance, economy in terms of both the individual and the state, but also the European Union, which affects every Member State and the Czech Republic is no exception. State economic situation continues to affect both small and large companies, entrepreneurs and individuals who under the influence of the surrounding developments make decisions affecting not only the present but also the future. Economic decisions impinge on the functioning of the state authorities, which is taking steps to support the decision given on the company, such as electronic records of sales, taxation and other laws affecting their business. This impacts directly or indirectly to a particular individual moving in the country's economy. The aim of the dissertation is to express the economic impact in terms of social policy on selected sectors of the Czech economy, both theoretically and practically. The economic impact of social policy affects the financial situation of the economically active population who are hit by unexpected life situations. It is degraded in the social position due to declining economic level, which is then inadequate and social policies often do not sufficiently take into account the economic situation of the individual before and after the establishment of that situation. And the individual is often unable to adequately use the possibilities that social policy allows. The main reason is a lack of awareness, that should act on the individual before the emergence of the situation and create awareness in the people about the possibilities of resolving the situation. Unexpected life situations addressed by social policy, which is also solvable through its tools, job loss or inability to continue to engage in employment. Both options associated with a decrease in working capacity, which addresses social policy through the provision of disability pensions. These covers Czech Social Security Administration through district administrations throughout the country. The State influences the amount of disability pensions minimum the setting of wages, the basis of assessment, determination of the percentage amount of disability pension, including its reduction limits or minimum time required insurance. The aforementioned indicators in the calculation of invalidity pension, which becomes a very individual matter, but is influenced by the rules of 441,000 persons receiving this pension, which in the third. stage reaches an average amount of 10 262 CZK. With this funding slightly higher than the minimum wage, individuals must manage and deal with the new situation. Economic impacts caused by unexpected life situation affects not only the individual himself, but also its surroundings. To eliminate these negative economic impacts serve other instruments of social policy that could improve the financial situation. However, this is a significant administrative burden for which the required knowledge about the possibilities, which include care allowances, mobility allowances, certificate of persons with disabilities, but also the opportunity to appeal against the decision of the Czech Social Security Administration to withdraw and so improve its economic situation.

The main output product of the thesis is the computational system based on balance models of cogeneration key nodes. The computational system is suited for cogeneration technologies based on the Rankin steam cycle. The computational system was used for a particular case study calculation focused on a 1 MW biomass boiler extension by an expansion engine (a steam turbine or steam engine).

The aim of this study is to compare the estimated project costs with the costs actually incurred. The theoretical part describes the theme of public sector cost-output methods, and in detail analyzes the cost-benefit analysis. Furthermore, this section deals with regional policy and subsidy resources used to finance public projects. The practical part describes the project funded by funding from the European Union, which compares the value of all expected costs needed for an application for a grant with the real values of costs after project implementation.

Thesis is dealing with the development of the central banking on the basis of experience from the last decade. Hypothesis is the statement, whether the central banks of the developed economies are increasingly less capable of the effective reactions on the accelerating development of the global economy and their position in the money emission and regulation of the banking sector is and will be more and more weakened by the alternative banking and monetary systems. This hypothesis is successfully disproved because of the behavior of the four chosen central banks which are CNB, FED, ECB and BoJ. The main reason was an increase in their activities and interventions causing among others multiplication of their balance sheets. On the other hand the alternative in the free banking is further from the reality than before. Virtual currencies also did not show threatening growth of the national currencies substitution in the reference period. Thesis also provides insight into new and potentially new instruments of the central banks.

Cycle tourism presents for the Czech Republic an opportunity to address new touristic segment of relative higher purchasing power and attract tourists to regions. Cycle tourism presents also opportunity for economic growth in rural, often less developed, areas. It is one of the most popular sorte of sustainable tourism, which doesn't harm the enviroment. However, there are still reservers in the cycling infrastructure of the Czech Republic. The obstacles of getting investments for its development are missing economic arguments. The aim of this thesis is to design a method to quantify economic gains of cycling infrastructure. Based on the designed methodology, a large analysis of Greenways and long-distance cycling routes economic gains should take place.

In the present hypercompetitive market environment of car producers established especially at the developed west european markets is very difficult to gain new customers and increase the market share. The car producing companies have to build and increase customer loyalty to ensure the sustainable growth of market share in the future. One possibility how to improve customer's loyality to brand is to provide the highest standard at both sales and service department and carefully monitor the customer satisfaction. From the satisfaction and performance indicators of the car producing company is possible to construct a mathematical model producing the market share in a given country as an output. Key indikators of customer satisfaction, sales and service and also the macroeconomical data has been used as the inputs for the model. As a target market for my analysis has been chosen Germany. This thesis presents a set of recommendations and proposals, whose implementation should ensure the improvement of the market share of the given brand on german market. The recommendation does not include only the tips for improvement of the key indicators but it also gives the overview of how to make the marketing strategy more efficient using Customer relationship management.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the economic thinking of third grade students in primary school. On the basis of identified deficiencies, a set of ideas leading to more effective teaching is proposed. The theoretical section includes an examination of the state of economic thinking in primary school pupils in the Czech Republic and abroad. This explains the present form of financial education in the Czech Republic, and examines children's understanding, particularly in relation to constructivism. The practical section describes the preparation and implementation of qualitative research in the form of semi-structured individual interviews with pupils in their 3rd year, and 1st grade of primary school. In the conclusion, a set of ideas aimed to develop the financial thought processes of younger school students, supplement their knowledge, and strengthen their overall economic thinking, is proposed.

The basic income concept is a bold, challenging, and provocative proposal. It is an income unconditionally paid by a government, at a uniform level and at regular intervals, to each adult member of society. The grant is paid irrespective of whether the person is rich or poor, lives alone or with others, is willing to work or not. It should guarantee that all recipients have sufficient material conditions for their existence. This scheme is proposed as a mechanism of distributive justice, and as a tool to combat unemployment without increasing poverty. The economic independence would secure real freedom for all - an opportunity to do what they might want to do, including the permanent idleness. Implementing the basic income is to change current economic and social realities, not only the welfare system. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find ethically relevant aspects in the argumentation of positives and negatives of a basic income and to point out problems that are related to the concept of a basic income in ethical terms.

The thesis deals with the possibilities of financing social enterprises in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts on the theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is divided into three thematic blocks. The first block is focused on the situation abroad and it is prepared in the form of an overview study of fundamental concepts and approaches to the social economy, social entrepreneurship and financing. The second part is focused on the development of social economy and social entrepreneurship in the Czech Republic. The legislative context for the establishment and activity of social enterprises in the Czech Republic is presented here. It focuses more on the possibilities of financing social enterprises in the Czech Republic with a thorough analysis of European funds. The third block presents the results of the performed analyses of social entrepreneurship in the Czech Republic with a focus on financing. In the empirical part, the research itself is introduced. Every agricultural enterprise I compared with farm accountancy data network (FADN). The thesis focuses on professional and didactical points of view on digitalization in high school social science education. The aim of the thesis is to create a series of lessons for high schools (grammar schools) based on research on digitalization, which is supposed to aid students in better orientation at the labour market. At the same time, the didactical part is designed to be used and adapted by teachers interested in the topic. The theoretical part presents the professional background of the prepared lessons including key words, corresponding arguments and the general work basis of the author. Professional topics are transformed into a form didactically appropriate at the chosen level of secondary education (grammar schools). The practical part consists of a series of lessons focusing on changes in the labour market related to digitalization and technology development. Individual lessons are dedicated to online sharing economy platforms such as Uber and Airbnb, which change the concept of work in today's society and determine new working conditions of employees. This diploma thesis deals with poverty and social exclusion in the context of education, on both a theoretical and empirical level. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive picture of the phenomena of poverty, social exclusion and low-income families and then shows them towards education. The theoretical basis of the protection of families and children is also clarified in this part. The text focuses in detail on the specifics of the schooling of students from low-income families in Most, this focus is then extended by a qualitative data survey in the practical part. The research report provides interpretation of data from interviews with primary school pupils in Most, whose families meet the poverty risk attributes. The results of the practical part capture the student's perception of their educational careers.
