Abstract:
In the election, the conflict will always exist. Whether it is a conflict between the election participants, between the participants and the election organizers or among the election organizers itself. The purpose of this research is to analyze the contribution of the Election Conflict Regulation on handling the election conflict in Sijunjung Regency and to analyze the response of the conflicting parties to the usage of the Election Conflict Regulation in Sijunjung District. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study plan. To see this problem, the researcher used Ralf Dahrendorf's Conflict Theory of Regulation which explains that conflict regulation can affect the high and low escalation of conflicts that occurred. The results showed that in the resolution of conflicts that had occurred both in the 2015 Regional Heads Election conflict or the conflict during the preparation of the 2019 General Election, researcher found that the General Election Conflict Regulation played a role / contributed in resolving the conflicts, where the conflicts could be controlled and resolved properly without any increase in violence. This was proven by the conflicting parties that accepted the decision given by the authorities in its settlement plus there were no other conflicting actors involved in the conflict.

Abstract:
In Ethiopia, elections had conducted at different times. The first general election was held for the first time in 1992. Since then, the country has made five consecutive elections; however, almost all elections were accompanied by complaints of opposition parties, pre, and post-election conflicts. Nowadays Ethiopia has on the verge of disintegration due to ethnic conflict and political uncertainties that happen as the result of the absence of the elite’s consensus on varieties of national concerns, national and political questions raised by different ethnic groups that still unanswered. Surrounded by all the aforementioned problems the government held the sixth national election. Even if the election was said orderly, peaceful, and credible by some observatories accredited by the national election board of Ethiopia the election was not conducted in many parts of the country due to ethnic conflict. In line with this, the USA and EU said that the election was not democratic and credible because the current political atmosphere of the country not conducive to conduct elections due to major opposition parties boycotted them from the election, influential politicians have imprisoned and ethnic conflicts in many parts of the country. Therefore, to sustain the country as a unified state, to make the democratic political transition, to respond to the national and political questions of the citizens, to stop ethnic conflict, and to reach into consensus on national issues the government has better to initiating national dialogue process and made a viable peace agreement with all conflicting parties rather than holding an election nowadays.

Abstract:
This paper aims to analyze conflict resolution in South Buru during the regional election through a cultural approach. The conflict in the South Buru Regency was caused by dissatisfaction with the election results. This study uses qualitative tool analysis by choosing Nvivo as a computer assistant program to answer the question; the data in this study were sourced from direct observation and interviews during the conflict resolution process, and informants were selected based on the representation of each group. This analysis shows that the conflict in regional elections is caused by two dominant factors, namely the traditional doctrine of indigenous peoples. Meanwhile, the approach used in resolving regional election conflicts is an accommodation approach and a local wisdom approach. This study classifies that traditional communities in resolving conflicts tend to use a traditional approach, even though the category of conflict is not a cultural conflict. Exploring this conflict approach, Nvivo proves this by showing a correlation between the conflict approach and the conflict caused.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to examine and identify the problems that are the source of conflict over local elections in Talaga Raya District. This research focuses on conflicts that occur before and after local elections. By using a descriptive method and a case study approach, the results of the study showed that the conflict over the regional head election in Talaga Raya District originated from the Difference in Choice, Misunderstanding, Some Parties were disadvantaged and feeling sensitive. In addition, the conflict of local election which took place before and after the election had implications for the conflict over the control of fresh water sources which resulted in horizontal and vertical conflicts. Besides this conflict has also brought its own wisdom with the increase in the source of clean water which had only been one to three sources. Based on these results it can be said that besides bringing down the negative impacts of the conflict it can also bring down positive impacts in the Talaga Raya sub-district community. Therefore, in terms of conflict resolution, the government should be able to minimize the conflict as early as possible so it does not drag on so that it does not lead to physical conflict.

Abstract:
Abstract: Indonesia as a pluralist country holds the principle of equal citizenship, which considers that every individual and community group has the same rights and obligations and adheres to a democratic system of government. One of the main platforms to determine the leader who will represent the will of the people is the village head election. However, after the village head election, conflicts or disputes often occur in various regions including Mamasa, West Sulawesi. This conflict can threaten community unity and integrity. Therefore, the author links the phenomenon of post-village head election conflicts with citizenship politics and Amos Yong's Hospitality theory. The author presents the concept of hospitality as a new approach to overcome post-village head election conflicts and encourage inclusion in society. The method used is a qualitative approach by observing the phenomenon or case study under study, and using literature review to support the analysis. The purpose of this paper is to enrich the understanding of civic politics, apply Hospitality theory, and encourage new thinking in overcoming post-village head election conflicts. This research discusses the potential for political conflict in the 2024 presidential election from the perspective of conflict theory. The conflict perspective used is according to the views of Karl Marx and Ralf Dahrendorf. The approach used in this research is qualitative research with a literature study method which discusses potential conflicts that will occur. Conflicts that will occur, quoted from Kompas (Firda Cynthia Anggrainy, 2023). one pair of presidential candidates who they consider to be unconstitutional. The results of this research show that there is potential for political conflict in the 2024 presidential election. There is potential for political conflict in the 2024 presidential election. According to Karl Max, conflict occurs based on the class gap factor. In this political phenomenon, classes are divided into two, the ruling class and the ordinary people. According to Ralf Dahrendorf, conflict occurs based on differences in interests of groups with interests. In the potential political conflict in the 2024 presidential election, it will be very easy for conflicts of interest to arise based on each presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate. Conflict is seen as the result of social inequality and differences in interests between individuals or groups. Such conflicts can play an important role in changing political agendas, resolving social problems, and creating long-term changes in society. However, conflict can also threaten social stability and worsen social integration.

Abstract:
In any electoral process, the media plays a crucial role in informing the public and acting as a watchdog in ensuring a credible and fair election. Media influences the election dynamics and perceptions, how and what the media reports, builds, or breaks the credibility of an election. Media influences people by way of reporting, offering peaceful resolution, or even ending up in conflicts. Media is therefore instrumental in conflict resolutions and peace-building. In Kenya, the media is faulted for poor reporting and amplifying hate speech that inflames tension and leads to retaliatory attacks. The media has previously reported unconfirmed reports, inciting messages from politicians, or perpetuated viewpoint that has created political discourses that fun violent conflict. The media ought to report freely, fairly, and be neutral during elections without fueling violence. This paper sought to examine the role played by media in the electoral processes, analyses media coverage of the 2017 elections, establish the extent to which the media escalated and/or de-escalated election violence in Kenya. In collecting data, the researchers applied the qualitative approach through content analysis of newspaper articles, journals, and websites. These materials provided the intended information on the issue that was to be addressed, that is conflict-sensitive journalism. The study established that media has a role in framing conflicts and/or escalating conflict. It is also responsible for providing balanced reporting through good investigative journalism especially during conflict situations to promote peace and tranquility.

Abstract:
This research aims to analyze conflicts related to the neutrality of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the context of elections and post-conflict regional elections in Indonesia, with a focus on sources of conflict, dynamics and management strategies for preventing and handling conflicts. The methods used include literature studies, citing media interviews, and ASN observations in several regions involved in the election process. The research results show that conflicts related to ASN neutrality originate from structural inequality in the bureaucracy, differences in values between professionalism and political patronage, as well as conflicts of interest between demands for neutrality and political pressure. In conclusion, preventing and handling conflicts related to ASN neutrality requires a comprehensive approach involving structural reform of the bureaucracy, transformation of organizational culture, and active participation of civil society. Implementing appropriate conflict management strategies will not only strengthen the integrity of ASN, but also support a more transparent and accountable democratic process in Indonesia.

Abstract:
To address the social conflict triggers during the 2019 elections in Bandar Lampung, it is necessary to implement effective law enforcement. Simply relying on repressive penal measures is insufficient to deter potential perpetrators of election crimes, hoaxes, and hate speech. Likewise, preventive non-punitive approaches are unable to effectively curb the growth of social conflict triggers. Political actors take advantage of Bandar Lampung's history of social conflict, utilizing emotional manipulation as a primary tool in fueling conflicts. Therefore, the Bandar Lampung Police, through their law enforcement authority, must take action to prevent the escalation of these conflict triggers. This paper utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach to conduct research. It focuses on studying the optimization of law enforcement by the Police to minimize social conflicts during the 2019 Election. The research gathers primary data directly from respondents and secondary data from literature studies. The discovery reveals that enforcing the law to minimize social conflicts during the 2019 elections in Bandar Lampung is a challenging task for the police. Both repressive and preventive measures face difficulties. The enforcement of penal law lacks the necessary competence and resources, resulting in limited effectiveness in reducing social conflicts through criminal sanctions. On the preventive side, cooperation between institutions is lacking, polmas policies are not implemented properly, candidate socialization is not optimal, and the SPIS function is not maximized. As a result, hoaxes, hatespeech, and money politics easily spread, causing emotional distress among affected community groups.

Abstract:
Conflicts within families often arise when members have different political opinions, especially during election periods. Such conflicts can threaten family harmony and disrupt relationships between family members. This study aims to explore the impact of political dissent and elections on conflict in the family as well as strategies that can be used to maintain harmony in the face of such dissent. Qualitative research was conducted using a library review approach. Data were collected through a review of libraries related to the themes of conflicts caused by elections. Data analysis was conducted through a process of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that political disagreements and elections triggered family conflicts. These conflicts include communication tensions, emotional separation, and disagreements in decision making. Factors that influence the level of conflict include the intensity of disagreement, the inability to engage in dialogue constructively, and the influence of mass media. However, this study also found strategies that can help maintain harmony in the face of political disagreements in the family. These strategies include opening a respectful dialog, willingness to listen to, trying to understand the views of the other party, and focusing on shared values and goals. In addition, the use of reliable and critical sources of information can reduce conflicts that arise.

Abstract:
The Village Head Election is a contest for power at the village level. During this election process, conflicts can sometimes arise between supporters and the candidates for the village head position. One intriguing case in Indonesia regarding conflicts in village head elections is the 2023 Village Head Election in Kuripan, located in the Kuripan District, East OKU Regency. In this election, the candidate with number one won by a margin of only one vote over the candidate with number two, accompanied by several indications of irregularities in the election process. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including interviews and documentation. Primary data sources include interviews, while secondary data sources include literature. The findings of this study reveal that the dispute in the Kuripan village head election in the Cempaka District, East OKU Regency, was resolved through a local mechanism resembling a village deliberation, or other similar terms referring to discussions involving all relevant village stakeholders. These include the election committee, village government officials, and village representative bodies. To prevent disputes in future village head elections, it is recommended to clarify and improve the transparency of the election information and process.

Abstract:
During the 20th presidential election process, in addition to ideological and regional conflicts, which were chronic ills of Korean politics, gender conflicts and generational conflicts developed to a very serious level. The results showed that the candidates for support differed significantly depending on region, generation, and gender. If this trend continues, it is highly likely that politics will deeply entrench political hatred beyond political apathy throughout society by failing to perform its original role, social integration, and only playing a reverse function that deepens and triggers conflict.
The current presidential system implies a winner-take-all structure, making it impossible to divide power. The election system fixes the two-party structure, limiting the people's various political options, and deepening the confrontation between the two political forces. There are pros and cons of the system, and it is necessary to choose the system over how to solve the problems of Korean society.
Social integration is not only impossible under a system in which politics does not resolve various conflicts in society and expands social conflicts into political conflicts, but it can also lead to a crisis situation in the country. It is time for constitutional concerns to be fiercely demanded.
Politics should be changed to a power structure that can be achieved on the basis of compromise and cooperation. To this end, it is desirable to change the four-year term of office to a four-year term of office and elect the president by a runoff vote, but to elect half of the members in the general election in the early half of the administration and the other half in the midterm elections. The public will have the opportunity to conduct an interim evaluation of the president and the National Assembly through two parliamentary elections. If a representative can be evaluated every two years to give prizes and punishments, it will be difficult for a imperial president or an irresponsible National Assembly to exist.
If the National Assembly has the right to recommend the prime minister, it will be able to play an active role in selecting the prime minister if the opposition party wins the two-year parliamentary elections. It may also be possible to form a coalition government between the ruling and opposition parties. In addition, it is necessary to revise Article 28 of the “Act on the Operation of Public Institutions” to adjust the term of the head of a public institution from three years to two years, like directors and auditors. If the opposition party wins the parliamentary elections in line with the presidential and parliamentary elections, it should pave the way for the opposition party to recommend the heads of public institutions.
We must be able to guarantee the pluralities of politics. If the president is elected on a runoff system, and the two-year parliamentary elections are elected based on the multimember district system, a new way for minority parties can be opened. The presidential candidate of the minority party is not forced to resign, but can unite according to the results of the first round of voting. If various political forces coexist in the National Assembly due to the entry of minority parties, they can act as a coordinator in the conflict phase.
It should be reorganized into a constitutional system based on compromise and securing pluralism. Only then can political forces move in a direction that can coordinate and integrate conflicts.

Abstract:
Drawing insights from decolonial theory and Ubuntu ethics, this article examines coloniality practices embedded in conflict journalism in Zimbabwe. It uses election violence reporting between 2000 and 2013 as a lens for gaining insights into how reporting conflicts perpetuates coloniality. How coloniality is reproduced through conflict reporting practices, and the extent to which Ubuntu ethics could be a remedy for coloniality are questions at the core of this exploration. Empirical data for the study were gleaned from in-depth interviews with nineteen purposively selected print media journalists and editors who had experience in reporting election violence in Zimbabwe between 2000 and 2013. The article reveals that election violence reporting practices among print media journalists are oriented more towards ‘war journalism’ than peacebuilding which is at odds with Ubuntu ethics. It canvasses for an Ubuntu-centred journalism to mitigate the deleterious effects of coloniality in reporting conflicts in postcolonial contexts.

Abstract:
Anecdotal evidence suggests that sexual violence varies significantly across cases of election violence and communal conflicts but systematic research is scarce. Post-election violence is particularly likely if electoral mobilization further polarizes longstanding communal conflicts and political elites do not instruct security forces to intervene decisively. I comparatively analyse two prominent cases of post-election violence in Kenya (2007/8) and Nigeria (2008) that exhibit stark variation in sexual violence. Patrimonial networks and norms of violent masculinity that increase the probability of (gang) rape were present in both cases and do not explain variation. Civil war research has identified three explanations for the variation in sexual violence: situational constraints; ordered sexual violence or restraint; and bottom-up dynamics of sexual violence or restraint. I examine these for the context of post-election violence. I argue that the type of communal conflict triggered by electoral mobilization explains variation in sexual violence. In Kenya, pogroms of a majority group against a minority allowed for the time and space to perpetrate widespread sexual violence while in Nigeria, dyadic clashes between similarly strong groups offered less opportunity but produced a significantly higher death toll. These findings have important implications for preventing election violence. They demonstrate that civilian vulnerability is gendered and that high levels of sexual violence do not necessarily correspond to high levels of lethal violence. Ignoring sexual violence means underestimating the real intensity of conflict and its impact on the political process.

Abstract:
Studies of elections in young democracies point to the risk of elections intensifying existing social conflicts, a process observed in Indonesia in recent years. The 2017 mayoral election in Yogyakarta contradicts this trend, presenting an empirical puzzle. Despite the fact that local conditions might encourage electoral mobilization along sectarian lines, we find evidence of restraint. Based on analysis of the contents of sermons in 12 mosques and churches in the month before the election we identify three factors that discourage religious leaders from exercising opportunities to intensify religious tension. These include (a) elites were not motivated to exacerbate communal tension because they do not feel the election will bring about reform or change that would seriously affect their established position, (b) even though sectarian messaging is possible, the elites did not believe masses could be easily persuaded by sectarian political messaging, and (c) political outbidding by using sectarian messages would risk confronting the local dominant culture of harmony. These findings suggest that several factors need to be activated for religious leaders to exercise their moral authority over worshippers for political purposes. The presence of an opportunity structure for intensifying sectarian conflict is not sufficient for that conflict to emerge.

Political deception is inherently ‘conflictual’ not only in the Western Democracies but also and even more so in Africa. Conflicts of political nature have often resulted from national and local elections in Africa and Cameroon. Prominently, such conflicts sometimes take an ethnic twist with far-reaching consequences. From this background, this article investigates into the forms and nature of intra-ethnic conflicts in the Nkambe Central Subdivision of Cameroon during the 2013 legislative election. With a combination of interviews and personal observations, including a good number of secondary/tertiary source-material, the article which is analyzed in thematic synthesis reveals that during the 2013 legislative election in the Nkambe Central Subdivision of the North West region of Cameroon, conflicts of clan-based, family and age-set nature emanated with far-reaching consequences on ethnic relations and development.

Abstract:
This article aims to describe the important role of the church in theological ethics to deal with political conflicts that arise on social media during the election period in the digital era. Monitored debates on digital social media platforms create increasing political tensions and can trigger horizontal conflicts. The church therefore has the potential to play an important role in mitigating conflict and representing a more ethical dialogue. By using a theological ethical foundation, the church can provide a foundation and guide for values, reasoning and morals that are relevant to Christianity. Using descriptive qualitative methods with a literature study approach, it can be concluded that social media and political debate are the church's efforts to reduce election conflict in the digital era from an ethical and theological perspective. The study aims to delve into the social conflicts that arise post-Village Head Election (Pilkades) in Balongdowo Village, Kepohbaru District, Bojonegoro Regency. It seeks to shed light on the conflict's background, its triggers, and the subsequent social dynamics within the village. Moreover, it intends to examine the steps taken by relevant stakeholders and the local community to resolve the conflict. Employing a qualitative research methodology, the study utilizes descriptive data gathered from informants and the community's behavior. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings underscore that the conflict emerges due to the insufficient support from villagers for the village head candidate from their own community, particularly evident in Kampung Karikil, the residence of the elected candidate. The proposed resolution entails mediation with active involvement from the local community.

Abstract:
Post-election conflicts in Lamaksenulu Village, Indonesia, reflect public dissatisfaction with election results and underlying socio-political tensions. This study examines conflict management strategies in the context of Thomas and Kilmann’s conflict management theory within a rural Indonesian setting. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach, the study examines how collaboration, compromise, and accommodation—mediated by traditional leadership and hybrid governance—were used to address disputes. Although reconciliation was pursued through deliberation and dialogue, structural dissatisfaction remains, posing risks of recurring tensions. This research contributes to the literature by localizing a widely used Western conflict management model, offering a culturally grounded perspective on post-election conflict resolution. It demonstrates how combining formal institutions with indigenous practices enhances understanding of conflict dynamics in rural democracies. Key recommendations include improving electoral transparency, strengthening traditional leadership in dispute mediation, and developing inclusive reconciliation programs to foster lasting socio-political stability.

Abstract:
The village head election or pilkades is a process of succession of village leadership that is used as a democratic party for the village community to be able to actively participate in determining the government in accordance with the will of the people. Pilkades can have a positive impact on the community, but it is not uncommon for it to cause negative access in the form of conflicts and divisions in the community. The purpose of this study is to determine the background of the conflict in the Pilkades of Kembangan Village, Bonang Subdistrict, Demak Regency and to determine the form of conflict that occurred in the Pilkades of Kembangan Village, Bonang Subdistrict, Demak Regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The results showed that the conflict occurred suddenly when the community carried out democratic party activities for the election of village head candidates. The causes of the conflict were prejudice between the two candidates, regional differences, the gap between the old and young generations, and the conflict between pro-establishment and pro-change groups. The forms of conflict that occur are realistic and non-realistic conflicts.

Abstract:
In the 2019 concurrent election, the General Election Commission of Palembang City was prosecuted due to the accusation of not executing recommendations and not protecting voting rights. This research aims to : (1) identify the source of internal conflict; (2) identify the source of external conflict, and (3) analyze conflict management applied to resolve the conflict. This research’s method is qualitative descriptive, data were collected through interviews with purposive informants and documentation. Research shows that conflict was mainly caused by lack of regulation and human resources factors which can be specified into internal conflict were caused by personal factors such as (1) communicational barrier; (2) conflict of interest in recruitment; (3) character differences. Functional factors were disproportioned structure and lack of competence. External conflicts were mainly caused by lack of regulation resulted in misperceptions and also personal and intervention factors. By using the framework of organizational conflict management, it has become clear that the General Election Commission of Palembang applied different approaches to conflict management: forcing and withdrawal for ad hoc electoral body, and institutional (legal approach) in dealing with the Election Supervisory Agency of Palembang. Although they might produce some agreements, those types of conflict management were not leading to genuine resolution since it was a win-lose pattern. It is important to formulate rigid regulation, enhance the competence of election organizers, develop check and balance coordination, and synergize as fellow election organizers to avoid conflict reoccurrence in the future.

This research aims to find out why South Sumatra Province can avoid broad and sharp political conflicts, even though the people of South Sumatra are known for their hard character. Political conflicts in the 2019 simultaneous elections occurred in the districts of Empat Lawang, Musi Rawas, North Musi Rawas, Banyuasin, and East OKU. The potential for high conflict is rioting, as for example happened in Empat Lawang. However, even though there was a riot at the time, it only lasted for a short time, was well controlled, and caused no casualties. This is also the case with other political conflicts, so that it actually places this area as a zero conflict area. This is interesting, considering that the people in this area have a strong character. The research method used is qualitative. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews, and FGDs. The findings of this study show that the people of South Sumatra are people whose political culture is rational, pragmatic, patriarchal. In conclusion, the political culture is able to avoid South Sumatra from high political conflict.

Abstract In seeking to trace the escalation, avoidance or resolution of conflicts, contemporary social conflict theorists look for incompatible goals, differentials in power, access to social resources, the exercise of control, the expression of dissent, and the strategies employed in responding to disagreements. It is argued here that these concepts are just as applicable to the analysis of historical doctrinal conflicts in Late Antiquity as they are to understanding modern conflicts. In the following, I apply social conflict theory to three conflicts involving the late antique papacy to see what new insights it can proffer. The first is Zosimus's involvement in the dispute over the hierarchy of Gallic bishops at the beginning of the fifth century. The second and longest case-study is Leo I's intervention in the Chalcedonian conflict over the natures of Christ. The final brief study is the disputed election of Symmachus at the end of the fifth century.

Abstract:
Periodically, every five years, general elections are held as a form of democracy in Indonesia. During elections, political issues are often followed by controversies, conflicts, and disputes in local power competitions. These issues include cheating, money politics, and vote manipulation. The purpose of this study is to encourage the establishment of a permanent electoral court in the constitutional system and in the form of a state institution to handle any existing election results disputes, whether for the presidential election, legislative election, or regional election. To achieve the electoral justice system's legal certainty and utility principles. The research method was used qualitatively with a case study research design. The results indicate that the establishment of an election court institution is essential, considering elections are held regularly and periodically as part of people's sovereignty representation and efforts to establish a fair electoral system. An election court institution is necessary for Indonesian elections, tasked with handling every election dispute, thereby allowing the Constitutional Court to focus solely on testing laws against the 1945 Constitution. This journal concludes that an electoral justice institution needs to be established permanently, with competent judges and resources to handle every election-related case to realize an electoral justice system.

This research examined how three national newspapers in Nigeria (Daily Sun, The Guardian, and The Vanguard) covered the conflicts that arose during the 2021 gubernatorial primaries in Anambra State. The researchers used the agenda-setting theory to analyse the news reports and determined the depth, direction, and dominant frames used to report on the crises. The study lasted eight months, from April 1st to November 30th, 2021, and analysed 732 editions of the selected newspapers using content analysis. The results showed that the depth of coverage of the 2021 gubernatorial election party primaries crisis in Anambra state by the selected newspapers is related to the framing of stories; that the direction of the reportage by the three selected newspapers significantly correlated with journalism frames, and that Conflict frames and Informative frames were the dominant news frames in the coverage.it concluded that the findings emphasised the importance of journalistic frames in shaping media coverage. The recommendations made were that newspapers should utilise their coverage of election crises to further explore the agenda-setting theory, that newspapers should use their coverage of election crises to help manage and resolve crises through communication; that the coverage of gubernatorial election party primary crises should be approached with caution regarding journalistic framing, and that newspapers should use their coverage of gubernatorial election party primary crises to encourage political participation and interaction between voters and candidates.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is difficult to ignore the possibility of conflict in the Simultaneous Regional Head Elections; in fact, it tends to grow. Fundamentally, conflicts arise as a result of lack of planning and implementation of Electoral Management Bodies, confusing regulations, overlapping responsibilities and multiple interpretations of laws, and inability to deal with technical electoral issues. This study aims to examine the dynamics of holding the 2020 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study employs a qualitative design with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out using literature review techniques from several related journal sources. According to the results of the study with the Concept of Conflict Resolution, the potential conflicts that emerged in the 2020 simultaneous regional elections, including the existence of money politics disguised as assistance for overcoming COVID-19, low voter participation due to public fear of the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and weak technical elections management which resulted in the need for re-voting in several regions in Indonesia. Therefore, it can be conluded that Conflict resolution to eliminate money politics culture can be done by conducting political education which must be started from political parties. Meanwhile, to minimize re-voting, Electoral Management Bodies must prepare overall technical management well from planning, organizing, implementing to evaluating the entire process of organizing the election.

Abstract:
Violations during the Mayoral Election process are certainly not new. The dynamics were changing during the election process. These violations are certainly evaluation material for the organizing body in the effort to resolve the problem. However, this problem can spark conflict between partisans, organizers, and candidates. Therefore, this article aims to see what forms of violations were during the Semarang of Mayoral Election process, to see violations through the lens of conflict. With a qualitative research method, a case study approach with conflict theory, this study presents information that violations found include violations at the stages of the election process and violations at non-stages. These violations are more directed at administrative violations in the data collection of permanent election candidates, Ad-hoc committee candidates, violations in the implementation of the campaign, ASN neutrality, vote recounts, and errors in filling out form D. These violations are said to be conflicts because one party has different goals with another. The violations that occur were included in the type of surface conflict but do not rule out the possibility of becoming alternative conflicts and open conflicts in the future because all citizens did not obtain political education so they did not understand how politics works properly. Pelanggaran selama proses Pemilihan Walikota (Pilwalkot) tentu bukan hal baru. Dinamikanya silih berganti selama proses pemilih masih berlangsung.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the prospects of using mediation techniques in the settlement of electoral conflicts. It is well known that electoral conflicts are among the most intense and rapidly developing due to the fact that election campaigns are a time-limited process. With that said, mediation, as a relatively new technology for the Russian socio-political reality, seems to be one of the most promising techniques for resolving such conflicts, since it combines mobility, focus on positive results, constructiveness and maximum flexibility, allows you to formulate and take into account the current and rapidly changing interests of the parties in the political process. The article has a pronounced practical orientation and takes into account, among other things, the existing practical experience of using mediation in the settlement of designated conflicts. The scientific novelty of the article consists in an attempt to assess the prospects of using mediation techniques directly in the settlement of electoral conflicts. Electoral conflicts in themselves are a promising topic for research, since their occurrence is inevitable in any political system that provides at least only partially competitive elections. At the same time, due to the specifics of such conflicts, it is not possible to achieve even partial settlement by existing (predominantly legal) mechanisms, since such mechanisms are aimed only at assessing the formal circumstances of what is happening, are rather cumbersome and cannot always be applied due, for example, to the limited time of the election campaign (and even more so – voting). In this paper, an attempt is made to analyze the potential of mediation in this direction.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to examine the relation between the local elite power and the local government following the 2017 regional election of DKI Jakarta (Pilkada). The conflict phenomenon that occurs after the general election is an important issue to study. In line with Pilkada's high-intensity activities in many regions in Indonesia, a study of the power relationships between local elites and the local government is important in order to prevent social conflicts following elections. Abstract:
Abstract The ubiquitous Internet platform in Africa has given rise to a new set of non-state actors responding to protracted conflicts through the use of new media technology. As a departure from a state-centric approach to addressing conflict in Africa, this interdisciplinary study explores the contribution of the public in responding to armed conflicts through citizen journalism. To unearth non-violent African digital innovations, this research explored the Ushahidi platform, which emerged as a response to Kenya’s 2008 post-election violence. Using a qualitative method, data was gathered through unstructured in-depth interviews. The data was analysed using thematic analysis. The data showed the transformative role the Ushahidi platform played during Kenya’s electoral violence through crisis-mapping, the early warning multi-agent consortium, a constitutional referendum, and election monitoring. Evidence also emerged regarding the pioneer work of Ushahidi in other non-violent technological involvements in addressing crisis in Kenya.

Abstract:
The early detection of conflict is a crucial process in conflict prevention to avoid more complex situations in society. Politically competitive activities have the potential to trigger social division and broader conflicts. This community service initiative aims to provide concrete solutions for religious-social conflicts resulting from the political process. The initiative is implemented through training and mentoring for members of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) in Kerinci District and Sungai Penuh City, involving relevant stakeholders such as the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol), Regional Police (Polres), and the Forum for Interfaith Harmony (FKUB). Participants in the training displayed high enthusiasm by actively participating in Q&A sessions, group discussions, presentations, and providing reflections. Qualitatively, the training has positively impacted participants’ insights, attitudes, and skills in analyzing and detecting conflicts in society. Participants gained in-depth knowledge of the concept of early conflict detection and methods to identify potential conflicts before reaching higher levels of escalation. In terms of attitude, the training was effective in shaping a positive mindset and sensitivity to conflict issues, reinforcing peace values, and encouraging participants to adopt a proactive approach to conflict prevention efforts. Finally, through case studies and simulations, participants acquired the necessary skills to identify early signs of conflict and develop appropriate handling strategies.
