The late Victorian era was characterized by close links between politicians and firms in the United Kingdom, with up to half of all members of Parliament serving as company directors. We analyze 467 British companies over the period 1895 to 1904. An analysis of election results shows that the election of a new tech director is associated with a 2 percent to 2.5 percent increase in that firm's share price, whereas old tech firms were unaffected by the electoral fortunes of their directors. I describe and formalize a method for reconstructing falsified election results based on the analysis of a scatter diagram of polling stations in the space of electoral characteristics. I compare the results of applying this method with the reconstruction based on the analysis of the distribution of voters by electoral characteristics. We investigate the Brazilian Congress to shed light on the relationships between the donations received by congressmen elected in 2014 and their voting behaviors during the year of 2015. We merged publicly available data obtained from the Brazilian House of Representatives and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) in order to create a tripartite network containing campaign donors, elected congressmen, and legal bills. The election to define the National Board, the Deliberative Council, the Fiscal Council, and the Regional Division Board of the Brazilian Society of Acoustics — Sobrac — took place entirely remotely, following the previous electoral process (2020–2022).
