Abstract The electric sliding contact in the brush mechanism is one of the most unreliable components of electric machines of alternating and direct current and other electrical equipment in which the transmission of electric current is carried out using sliding contacts that require fairly frequent maintenance and can be a source of sparking. It is possible to increase the reliability and efficiency of electric machines with sliding electric contacts by replacing the dry friction mode with the liquid friction mode in the sliding electric contact. Electrical contacts that carry high currents are an essential component of many electric devices. In transmission and distribution systems, the electrical contacts are of particular importance because they must withstand adverse weather conditions that decrease their effectiveness. Abstract:
Fly ash is a by-product of coal combustion, made up of particles that are collected through various methods. This by-product has been used successfully as a partial Portland cement replacement in concrete, but the performance predictions of fly ash in concrete have been difficult to predict, especially at high fly ash replacement rates. This study focuses on comparing the performance of concrete with a variety of fly ash mixtures as well as the particle distribution and chemical makeup of fly ash. The slump, unit weight, compressive strength, and isothermal calorimetry tests were used to measu
