The present report was done on 42 buffaloes which were identified with hypocalcemia. Confirmation of the hypocalcemia was done by serum calcium levels estimation. Electrocardiographic assessment was carried out with base apex lead system and recorded the prolonged QT and QTc interval. Based on present study, electrocardiography can be utilized for assessment of the buffaloes with hypocalcemia diagnostic as well as therapeutic response.

In this study we evaluated the validity of well-known human electrocardiographic markers of myocardial pathology in Dorper sheep. These markers include: the duration of the QRS complex of premature ventricular complexes (PVCs), the presence of notching of the QRS complex of PVCs and change of the ST-segment of PVCs. It was shown that these three electrocardiographic phenomena correlate with myocardial pathology in the hearts of Dorper sheep. Introduction: One of the pharmacological treatment options for improving the symptoms of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and increasing the quality of life is cilostazol. Cilostazol is a pharmacological agent that shows vasodilator activity mainly by reducing cAMP degradation through specific cellular phosphodiesterase 3A enzyme inhibition. The effect of cilostazol on electrocardiographic parameters is not clear. In this study, we aimed to examine the effect of cilostazol on electrocardiographic parameters in PAD patients. Abstract Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in developed countries. Approximately 50% of these events are due to sudden cardiac death (SCD) and often without preceding diagnosis of cardiac disease. Many risk factors for cardiac events have been identified and prevention strategies have improved markedly. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the usability of the 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) to predict cardiac events. The study population consisted of 10,904 middle-aged general population subjects with ECG recordings between the years 1966–1972 with a long follow-up (30&

Abstract Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is a major medical and public health concern responsible for 50% of cardiovascular deaths and as much as 15% to 20% of overall mortality. Coronary heart disease is the underlying cause of most of these deaths, and in 50% of such cases, SCD is the first manifestation of the disease. Researchers have investigated numerous noninvasive methods to more accurately identify individuals at high risk of SCD, but most such studies have focused on patients with specific heart disease. Its role is crucial in the management of patients with suspected ACS without electrocardiographic changes or elevation of cardiac markers, allowing the formulation of differential diagnosis between cardiac and extracardiac aetiologies. In the last few years numerous papers point out new ECG markers that have utility and I predict this trend will continue into the future. This chapter has been revised to present the more commonly used (conventional) electrocardiogram exchanges separately from the less commonly recognized changes (unconventional). Primary prevention of sudden cardiac death (SCD) aims at averting the first manifestation of a life-threating arrhythmic event. The first step towards primary prevention is the identification of individuals with a higher risk for SCD within a certain population by screening methods. In the case of the general population, risk stratification and thus primary prevention of SCD remains challenging. Several markers have been evaluated as screening methods for SCD in the general population including risk factors for atherosclerosis, genetic factors, electrocardiographic findings, biomarkers, imagin

Physiological signals such as electrocardiography (ECG) have traditionally been associated with assessments of physical health. Mental health, meanwhile, often relies on subjective measures like self-report questionnaires and clinical interviews. Yet, the autonomic nervous system and the central nervous system are intrinsically linked to mental states like stress. While previous studies have associated certain parameters with stress, variability in findings and protocols, as well as limited exploration of some parameters, especially non-linear measures, highlight the need for further research.
