Identification of transcripts produced during porcine oocyte maturation is one of the first steps in defining pathways important to development. Practically, this information will aid in the refinement of in vitro culture processes, allowing for more efficient in vitro embryo production. To this end, mRNA was isolated from 50 in vitro-matured sow metaphase II stage oocytes (Bomed, Inc., Madison, WI, USA) (MIIs), 50 in vitro-matured gilt metaphase II-stage oocytes (MIIg), and 50 gilt germinal vesicle stage oocytes (GVO) by using the Dynabead® system (Dynal, Inc., Lake Success, NY, USA) and ampl

In fuel cell applications, the proton exchange membrane (PEM) is the major component where the balance among dimensional stability, proton conductivity, and durability is a long-term trail. In this research, a series of blended SPEEK/SPPO membranes were designed by varying the amounts of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) into sulfonated poly(phenylene) oxide (SPPO) for fuel cell application. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to confirm the successful synthesis of the blended membranes. Morphological features of the fabricated membranes were characterized by usin

Abstract When Harry Truman became President in 1945, there was a great deal of uncertainty about him. A haberdasher from Klan country (Independence, Missouri), he had been a judge back in Kansas City, and one of the favorable things he did was to save a black boys’ school that whites believed was too good for black youth. As a U.S. senator in 1935, he had backed the Costigan Wagner Anti-Lynching Bill. His civil rights record was indeed viewed as moderate.
