Abstract:

This paper provides a description and an analysis of the effectiveness of the Electronic Commerce Resource Center (ECRC) concept, as implemented in the USA. Following the general presentation, a specific discussion of the industry-education partnership at a Center in Fairfax, Virginia is provided. The mission of the ECRC network is to transfer process improving and enabling electronic commerce technologies to small and medium-sized businesses and government agencies. Each ECRC is a virtual organization, comprised of industry and university partners. In order to achieve its mission, the ECRC focuses on demonstrating emerging technologies, and then rapidly transferring the technologies to small and medium-size businesses. The ECRC mission also requires the provision of training on process improving methods, legacy data management, and enabling technologies. Finally the effectiveness of the Fairfax ECRC is analysed within the context of our internally established performance measurement system. The authors argue that the ECRC concept could be successfully transferred to other countries, given the intense worldwide interest in electronic commerce.

Abstract:

For several years libraries, especially larger libraries and research libraries, have been more and more desperately seeking systems and tools to help them manage electronic resources for several years. To date, most libraries seeking support for the full life cycle of electronic resource management (ERM) from selection through purchase, access, license management, and renewal or cancellation, have had to build their own systems, and many have done so. In addition to these homegrown systems, commercial sources have emerged to support ERM: there are those from third party serial and/or serial data vendors, such as EBSCO, SerialsSolutions, and TDNet; and those from major vendors of integrated library systems (ILS), such as Innovative Interfaces Inc. (III), which has an ERM system currently on the market, and other ILS vendors who are in varying stages of developing ERM functionality.[1] This article is an overview of the latter market.

Abstract:

Optimization of electronic warfare (EW) receiver scan strategies is critical to improving the probability of surviving military missions in hostile environments. The problem is that the limited understanding of how dynamic variations in radar and EW receiver characteristics has influenced the response time to detect enemy threats. The dependent variable was the EW receiver response time and the 4 independent variables were EW receiver revisit interval, EW receiver dwell time, radar scan time, and radar illumination time. Previous researchers have not explained how dynamic variations of independent variables affected response time. The purpose of this experimental study was to develop a model to understand how dynamic variations of the independent variables influenced response time. Queuing theory provided the theoretical foundation for the study using Little's formula to determine the ideal EW receiver revisit interval as it states the mathematical relationship among the variables. Findings from a simulation that produced 17,000 data points indicated that Little's formula was valid for use in EW receivers. Findings also demonstrated that variation of the independent variables had a small but statistically significant effect on the average response time. The most significant finding was the sensitivity in the variance of response time given minor differences of the test conditions, which can lead to unexpectedly long response times. Military users and designers of EW systems benefit most from this study by optimizing system response time, thus improving survivability. Additionally, this research demonstrated a method that may improve EW product development times and reduce the cost to taxpayers through more efficient test and evaluation techniques.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) has established educational programs throughout the world. The aim of these programs is to help students in gaining and understanding and personal witness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ while they pursue secular studies. This project is an online resource, a handbook of instruction, designed for LDS religious educators across the globe to access and interact with, so as to facilitate teaching in the LDS classroom. Produced in Net Objects Fusion 3.0 this multimedia handbook makes use of text, graphics, and other information to teach and provide quality material and perspective for the LDS volunteer seminary teacher. This project is best viewed using Netscape Communicator 4.0 on a minimum 17 inch monitor. Abstract:

The use of computer modeling is fast increasing in almost every scientific, engineering and business arena. This dissertation investigates some challenging issues in design, modeling and analysis of computer experiments, which will consist of four major parts. In the first part, a new approach is developed to combine data from approximate and detailed simulations to build a surrogate model based on some stochastic models. In the second part, we propose some Bayesian hierarchical Gaussian process models to integrate data from different types of experiments. The third part concerns the development of latent variable models for computer experiments with multivariate response with application to data center temperature modeling. The last chapter is devoted to the development of nested space-filling designs for multiple experiments with different levels of accuracy.

Abstract:

«ЭпиМэп УГМУ» это уникальная коллекция карт-анаморфоз Российской Федерации, посвященных различным аспектам эпидемиологии инфекционных и неинфекционных болезней. Для построения представленных на сайте картограмм использован диффузионный метод, принцип которого состоит в изменении площади каждого из 85 регионов страны сообразно величине анализируемого параметра. Административные территории с большим значением изучаемого параметра характеризуются относительно большей площадью. В итоге обработки данных регионы страны приобретают отличающиеся от традиционной карты очертания. Величина их тем больше, чем значительнее вклад территории в формирование исследуемой переменной. Какие-то районы “раздуваются”, другие, наоборот, уменьшаются. Авторы проекта предлагают увидеть Россию взглядом эпидемиолога.

Abstract:

Электронный образовательный ресурс «Защита прав потребителей» составлен в соответствии с требованиями Федерального государственного образовательного стандарта высшего образования специальность 32.05.01 Медико-профилактическое дело, утвержденным приказом Министерства образования и науки Российской Федерации от 16 января 2017 г. №21 (с изменениями от 13.07.2017 г.), и с учетом требований профессионального стандарта 02.002 «Специалист в области медико-профилактического дела», утвержденного приказом Министерства труда и социальной защиты Российской Федерации от 25 июня 2015 г. №399н. Цель изучения курса - сформировать знания, умения и навыки, необходимые специалисту для работы в области защиты прав потребителей, дать будущим специалистам Роспотребнадзора необходимый и оптимальный объем правовых знаний по вопросам защиты прав потребителей, позволяющий аргументировано принимать решения при организации и осуществлении профессиональной медицинской деятельности, сформировать правосознание и правовую культуру. Задачами дисциплины являются: - обучение основным положениям законов и иных нормативных правовых актов Российской Федерации, регулирующих отношения в области защиты прав потребителей, их толкованию; - обучение теоретическим знаниям об основных принципах, институтах, категориях и современном уровне развития защиты прав потребителей; - обучение определению объема предоставляемой информации об оказываемых услугах, критериях качества и безопасности товаров, работ, услуг, применению механизмов защиты прав потребителей на информацию, а также на качество и безопасность товаров, работ, услуг; - сформировать умение применять нормы гражданского, административного, предпринимательского и иных отраслей права при решении конкретных задач в области защиты прав потребителей; - выработка навыков применения законодательства о защите прав потребителей при осуществлении профессиональной деятельности. Трудоемкость курса составляет 72 часа. Курс состоит из 4 дидактических единиц, в рамках которых рассматривается 18 тем.

Abstract:

Цель реализации программы – систематизация и углубление профессиональных знаний по этиологии, патогенезу, диагностике и дифференциальной диагностике, лечению и профилактике неотложных состояний в аллергологии, умений, навыков, совершенствование профессиональных компетенций врача, необходимых для выполнения профессиональной деятельности, то есть повышение профессионального уровня в рамках имеющейся квалификации врача-специалиста, обладающего системой профессиональных и универсальных компетенций, позволяющих самостоятельно выполнять работу в качестве врача-аллерголога-иммунолога в общей сети медицинских учреждений, специализированных центрах, научно-исследовательских институтах. Задачи цикла: формирование и углубление знаний в области этиологии, патогенеза неотложных аллергических состояний; формирование знаний и компетенций по диагностике, лечению и профилактике неотложных аллергических состояний; формирование знаний и компетенций по использованию современных методов и технологий лечения и ведения больных с жизнеугрожающими состояниями. Острые аллергические состояния (анафилактический шок, жизнеугрожающие приступы бронхиальной астмы, тяжелые кожные токсико-аллергические реакции на медикаменты) при неадекватном лечении могут быть причиной летальных исходов. В связи с этим является востребованной подготовка врачей специалистов разного профиля по вопросам клиники и терапии неотложных аллергических состояний. При прохождении курса Вы обновите и структурируете знания по неотложным состояниям, отработаете алгоритмы оказания помощи.
