Abstract The risks of alternating current (AC) corrosion, overprotection, and stray direct current (DC) corrosion are increasing on cathodically protected buried steel pipelines due to the recent changes in factors such as burial conditions, the characteristics of coatings, and pipe material. As a result, it has been revealed that there is a certain limitation to assess these risks with respect to conventional cathodic protection (CP) criteria based on pipe-to-soil potential. Since then, remarkable progress has been achieved in reducing the disease burden. Vietnam reached the goal of leprosy elimination with the prevalence rate (PR) of less than 1 case/10, 000 population at National level in 1995 and at District level in the year 2000.
After reaching the goal of leprosy elimination as a public health problem, in 2003 the NLCP set up the new strategy with 4 Vietnamese criteria for elimination at Provincial level.

Multi-criterial analysis under the current use of digital geographic data is a quite common method used to evaluate the influence of the geographic environment on a planned or ongoing activity. The advantage of this method is a possibility of complex evaluation of all influences as well as a possibility to observe how the individual influences manifest in the final result. Its critical moment is establishing the structure of individual factors that influence the given activity, setting their weights and, subsequently, a choice of a suitable user function. Abstract As neglected tropical diseases approach elimination status, there is a need to develop efficient sampling strategies for confirmation (or not) that elimination criteria have been met. This is an inherently difficult task because the relative precision of a prevalence estimate deteriorates as prevalence decreases, and classic survey sampling strategies based on random sampling therefore require increasingly large sample sizes. More efficient strategies for survey design and analysis can be obtained by exploiting any spatial correlation in prevalence within a model-based geostatistics f

Background The treatment of chronic odontogenic and nonodontogenic rhinosinusitis is different. It requires the elimination of odontogenic cause and optimal sinus surgical treatment. To date, there are no clear indications when sinus surgical treatment is necessary. Objective Our aim was to define clear indication(s) for sinus surgical treatment in patients with chronic odontogenic rhinosinusitis after elimination of odontogenic cause. Methods A group of 96 patients with chronic odontogenic rhinosinusitis caused by apical periodontitis completed a Sino-Nasal Outcome Test 22 (SNOT-22) questionn

The emergent health issue of food allergens presents an important challenge to the food industry. More than 170 foods have been reported in the scientific literature as causing allergic reactions. Clearly, it would be impossible to deal with the presence of trace amounts of all these in the context of food labeling. If the decision to classify major allergens is based solely on the knowledge and experience of allergists and food scientists in the field, without scientifically defined criteria, it is likely to lead to a proliferation of lists. Such practices may lead to an unnecessary eliminati
