Abstract:

Abstract In this paper, an advanced stream flow forecasting model is developed by applying data-preprocessing techniques on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). Wavelet multi-resolution analysis is coupled with an ANFIS model to develop a hybrid wavelet neuro-fuzzy (WNF) model. Different models with different input selection and structures are developed for daily, weekly and monthly stream flow forecasting in Railway Parade station on Ellen Brook River, Western Australia. The stream flow time series is decomposed into multi-frequency time series by discrete wavelet transform using the Haar, Coiflet and Daubechies mother wavelets. The wavelet coefficients are then imposed as input data to the neuro-fuzzy model. Models are developed based on Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy inference system with the grid partitioning approach for initializing the fuzzy rule-based structure. Mean-square error and Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient are chosen as the performance criteria. The results of the application show that the right selection of the inputs with high autocorrelation function improves the accuracy of forecasting. Comparing the performance of the hybrid WNF models with those of the original ANFIS models indicates that the hybrid WNF models produce significantly better results especially in longer-term forecasting.

Zusammenfassung Ellen M. Wood hat mit ihrer Studie „Retreat from Class. A ‚new true socialism“ bereits 1986 eine überzeugende Kritik des Postmarxismus vorgelegt. Der Artikel zeichnet deren zentrale Punkte nach und zeigt, dass diese auf einer innovativen Interpretation des historischen Materialismus beruhen, die als ‚politischer Marxismus‘ bezeichnet wird. Gleichwohl bleibt zu fragen, ob Woods Kritik nicht zugleich Annahmen des klassischen Marxismus reproduziert, die historisch wie systematisch zweifelhaft sind.

Der vorliegende Artikel befasst sich mit der Analyse der Struktur von Ludwig Tiecks Kunstmärchen Die Elfen. Struktur wird hier nicht nur als bloße Raumkonfiguration, sondern als handlungsorientierendes und sinntragendes Textelement verstanden. Dabei wird mit einigen früheren Interpreta-tionsversuchen polemisiert, bei denen vor allem psychologische bzw. phantastische und realistische Aspekte des Märchens im Zentrum der Untersuchung stehen. Ein extra Kapitel ist der gattungstypologischen Frage nach dem eigentlichen Genre von Die Elfen gewidmet. This and other side of the river – the structure as a semantic element of Ludwig Tieck’s Die ElfenThe article is based upon the author’s structural analysis of Ludwig Tieck’s fairy-tale Die Elfen. One should bear in mind, however, that the structure of the tale represents more than a mere spatial configuration, namely that it is a significant and intrinsically meaningful element of the entire text, integral in advancing the narrative. A polemic against previous interpretations particularly those based on the psychological, fantastic or realistic aspects of the story is also included. An ancillary chapter delves in the genre-specific question: should Die Elfen be considered as a fairy tale in the original sense of the word, or is the work better defined as a short novel or “novella” which includes magical features?

Abstract:

SummaryDo disease and suffering, in their deepest essence, represent blessings? Are they allowed or even intended by God? Are they, primarily, a test of faith and a cryptogram which needs to be decoded and responded to, or does their presence rather obscure the true nature of salvation? Specific ways of thinking about diseases, such as those of Smolík, MacNutt, Grün, Dufner and others, substantially influence the objectives and methods of pastoral work. In addition to some relevant biblical texts, this article deals with considerations of how the burden of suffering can be shared with other people, how the disappointed expectation of healing can be coped with, and how the goodness of God can be perceived in this context. The author gives the advice to enter the area of trust, because it is trust which primarily changes the very perception and experience of the reality, as it provides a new view of Christ, part of which is also healing by God’s grace. For this reason, the service of healing is a common part of life in the Christian community, not merely a memory of the practice in the Early Church or even an unexpected and completely surprising manifestation of the Spirit of God.ZusammenfassungStellen Krankheit und Leiden in ihrem tiefsten Wesen wirklich Segnungen dar? Sind sie von Gott zugelassen oder gar beabsichtigt? Verkörpern sie allem voran eine Glaubensprüfung und einen Geheimcode, der zu entschlüsseln und zu beantworten ist? Der Artikel stellt einige relevante Bibeltexte zur Verfügung; zusätzlich denkt er darüber nach, wie die Last von Leiden mit anderen Menschen geteilt werden, wie man mit enttäuschten Heilungserwartungen umgehen und wie die Güte Gottes darin wahrgenommen werden kann. Die Autorin rät dazu, in den Raum des Vertrauens hineinzugehen, denn gerade Vertrauen verändert vor allem die Wahrnehmung und das Erleben von Realität, weil es eine neue Sicht auf Christus gewährt; und dazu gehört auch Heilung durch die Gnade Gottes. Abstract:

ABSTRAKIndonesia adalah salah satu negara yang kaya akan jenis flora yang berkhasiat sebagai tanaman obat. Salah satunya yaitu kembang bulan (Tithonia diversifolia). Dari uji yang pernah dilakukan, tanaman ini mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang berguna sebagai anti bakteri dan anti diabetes. Dalam penelitian ini akan ditentukan jenis eluen terbaik untuk mengisolasi senyawa flavonoid dan jenis senyawa flavonoid yang terdapat dalam ekstrak daun kembang bulan. Ekstraksi senyawa flavonoid dari daun kembang bulan dilakukan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut aseton : air (7:3) selama 5x24 jam, kemudian dilakukan fraksinasi menggunakan pelarut n-heksana dan etil asetat. Setelah itu, dilakukan uji fitokimia senyawa flavonoid menggunakan uji Wilstatter, Bate-Smith dan NaOH 10%. Pemisahan senyawa flavonoid dari ekstrak dilakukan dengan kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT) untuk mencari eluen terbaik dengan variasi eluen yaitu n-heksana : etil asetat (8:2), asam asetat : H2O : HCl pekat (30:10:3), n-butanol : asam asetat : air (4:1:5), dan metanol : etil asetat (4:1), kemudian dilanjutkan dengan isolasi senyawa flavonoid. Identifikasi senyawa flavonoid dilakukan dengan metode pereaksi geser dan FTIR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari uji fitokimia dari ketiga reagen menunjukkan positif mengandung senyawa flavonoid. Eluen terbaik dalam pemisahan senyawa flavonoid dengan KLT adalah n-heksana : etil asetat (8:2) yang dapat digunakan dalam mengisolasi senyawa flavonoid. Eluen ini memisahkan 3 noda dengan warna jingga. Berdasarkan hasil analisis spektrofotometer UV-Vis (metode pereaksi geser), menunjukkan bahwa isolat adalah golongan flavonol. Hasil identifikasi dengan FTIR menunjukkan serapan-serapan yang spesifik dari senyawa flavonoid seperti rentangan asimetri OH pada bilangan gelombang 3443,9 cm-1, rentangan cincin aromatik pada 11367,9 cm-1, pita serapan kuat karbonil pada angka 1648,3 cm-1 dan golongan eter yang diperkuat oleh puncak serapan 1060,3 cm-1 sehingga senyawa flavonoid yang diduga adalah 5,7,8,3’,4’-pentahidroksiflavonol atau 5,6,7,3’,4’-pentahidroksiflavonol.

Abstract:

ZusammenfassungDiese Arbeit beschreibt für die klinische Praxis relevante Aspekte der somatoformen Störungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen. Konkurrierende Modelle machen deutlich, dass es sich um ein Störungsbild mit multifaktorieller Ätiologie und Pathogenese handelt, das bisher nur in Ansätzen geklärt ist. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden einige psychoanalytische Konzepte der Psychosomatik dargestellt. Dabei soll gezeigt werden, dass die bereits von Sigmund Freud getroffene Unterscheidung zwischen körperlichen Symptomen, denen die Symbolisierung eines neurotischen Konfliktes zugrunde liegt, und somatoformen Symptomen, die aus einem Defekt der Ich-Funktionen und einer Symbolisierungsstörung resultieren, nach wie vor für das Verständnis und die Behandlung dieser Störungen relevant ist. Die niedrige Prävalenz der Somatisierungsstö-rung steht in deutlichem Widerspruch dazu, dass somatoforme Einzelsymptome sehr häufig vorkommen. Dieser Widerspruch ist den restriktiven Kriterien der Diagnosesysteme geschuldet und verschleiert behandlungsbedürftige somatoforme Syndrome, begründen diese doch sowohl einen starken individu-ellen Leidensdruck als auch eine intensive Inanspruchnahme medizinischer Versorgungsleistungen.

Abstract:

La gestion d'une ressource commune soulève souvent le problème de leur surexploitation qui aboutit en général à leur épuisement. Nous étudions dans ce travail l'impact de formation de coalition sur l'investissement dans la ressource commune. Nos premiers résultats viennent de la résolution du modèle d'investissement qu'on a modifié pour permettre la formation de coalition. L'optimum social est toujours dans la formation de la plus grande coalition, cependant l'équilibre de Nash dépend du nombre de joueurs dans le jeu. Nous avons choisi le cas pour lequel l'équilibre Nash et l'optimum social coïncident. Pour cet exemple nous démontrons que la formation de la plus grande coalition permet d'investir moins dans la ressource et garantit le gain total le plus. On montre aussi que toute formation autre que les cinq singletons est une amélioration par rapport au jeu standard. Les résultats expérimentaux viennent confirmer nos calculs théoriques. En effet les joueurs forment des coalitions et investissent moins dans la ressource. La structure de départ et la règle de décision d'investissement ne change pas le résultat final
The management of commons pools resources raises the problem of their over-exploitation which degenerates in general into their exhaustion. We study the impact of coalition formation in the investment on common pool resource. Our first result from resolution of our model show that social optimum is always in the formation of the biggest coalition, however Nash equilibrium depend on number of player in the game. We choose case in which Nash equilibrium and social optimum coincide. For this example we demonstrate that in forming the biggest coalition we invest less in CPR and the total payoff is the greatest from all structure. We demonstrate also that comparing to the game without coalition formation (standard case) any structure other then singletons coalitions was an amelioration (less investment and greeter group payoff). Our first experiment with two treatments (veto & dictator) confirms our theoretical study : players form groups, decrease their investment in CPR and increase their payoff. The second experiment show that nether we change first group structure, the result is the same. We demonstrate also that decision rules don't affect final results

Abstract:

This chapter discusses Kaye Gibbons's work, which portrays wise and hardworking women whose gumption improves the lot of the suffering lower class. Born Bertha Kaye Batts on May 5, 1960, Kaye Gibbons grew up in a Nash County, North Carolina, farming community named Bend of the River. When Gibbons was ten, her mother committed suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills; her father drank himself to death soon thereafter. Orphaned at age twelve, Gibbons lived briefly with an aunt and then in a foster home, before moving in with her married older brother. Gibbons learned early to love the written word, a key to her survival. Her first novel, Ellen Foster, was published in 1987, and its sequel, The Life All Around Me by Ellen Foster, in 2006. Gibbons's second novel, A Virtuous Woman (1989), features a character whose inner conflict highlights the tension between the Rough South and the working-class South her family represents. Gibbons's other novels include A Cure for Dreams (1991) and Charms for the Easy Life (1993).
