Abstract:
<em>Tamarix duezenlii</em>, belonging to <em>Tamarix </em>L. ser. <em>Leptostachyae</em> (Bunge) Baum, is described as a species new to science. It is related to <em>T. hispida </em>Willd. and <em>T. arborea </em>(Sieber ex Ehrenb.) Bunge. From the former species it differs by its dense inflorescences, white petals and paralophic disc; from the latter by a shrubby habit, elliptic petals and calyx abruptly narrowed at the base. The species occurs in saline areas of the Cukurova Deltas at the mouths of the Seyhan and Ceyhan rivers in southern Turkey.

<p>Model <em>Hidden </em>Markov diskret diaplikasikan pada transaksi suatu kartu kredit untuk mendeteksi penyalahgunaan terhadap penggunaan kartu kredit tersebut. Pendugaan parameter model dilakukan menggunakan Metode <em>Maximum Likelihood </em>Rabiner yang terdiri dari : Algoritme <em>Forward. </em>Algoritme Virtebi dan Atgoritme Baum-Welch. Dengan menggunakan parameter dugaan proses deteksi kartu kredit dilakukan dengan menghitung peluang observasi untuk setiap transaksi baru. Jika perbandingan selisih dari peluang observasi transaksi baru dengan transaksi sebelumnya lebih besar atau sama dengan nilai ambang batas, maka transaksi baru tersebut terdeteksi sebagai penyalahgunaan.</p>

Abstract:
Baum (2012) chama a atenção para as limitações de análises feitas sob um paradigma molecular, mais comumente usada em análise do comportamento, sobretudo na pesquisa básica. Dados coletados apontam para uma função molar do reforçamento: organizar/ ordenar o repertório do organismo. Tal função é observada em análises molares, sobretudo relativas ao comportamento verbal não contingenciado. Mesmo em situação experimental, a exemplo de dados aberrantes presentes no histórico da ciência do comportamento, o comportamento verbal pode parecer bizarro se analisado isoladamente. Em tais casos defende-se que uma análise molar soluciona o problema de forma elegante e plausível. O que não ofusca a importância de uma tradição molecular.

Abstract Motivation The Expectation Maximization (EM) algorithm, in the form of the Baum–Welch algorithm (for hidden Markov models) or the Inside-Outside algorithm (for stochastic context-free grammars), is a powerful way to estimate the parameters of stochastic grammars for biological sequence analysis. To use this algorithm for multiple-sequence evolutionary modelling, it would be useful to apply the EM algorithm to estimate not only the probability parameters of the stochastic grammar, but also the instantaneous mutation rates of the underlying evolutionary model (to facilitate the development of stochastic grammars based on phylogenetic trees, also known as Statistical Alignment). Recently, we showed how to do this for the point substitution component of the evolutionary process; here, we extend these results to the indel process. Results We present an algorithm for maximum-likelihood estimation of insertion and deletion rates from multiple sequence alignments, using EM, under the single-residue indel model owing to Thorne, Kishino and Felsenstein (the ‘TKF91’ model). The algorithm converges extremely rapidly, gives accurate results on simulated data that are an improvement over parsimonious estimates (which are shown to underestimate the true indel rate), and gives plausible results on experimental data (coronavirus envelope domains). Owing to the algorithm's close similarity to the Baum–Welch algorithm for training hidden Markov models, it can be used in an ‘unsupervised’ fashion to estimate rates for unaligned sequences, or estimate several sets of rates for sequences with heterogenous rates. Abstract:
O estudo parte do empoderamento do juiz nas inúmeras possibilidades interpretativas da Constituição, analisa política pública e precedentes do judiciário no direito à aposentadoria. O referencial teórico pauta-se em um Judiciário ao substituir políticas públicas do Poder Executivo e Legislativo (BAUM, 1987) na proteção dos riscos sociais o faz numa análise cautelosa da Constituição sem causar grandes rupturas (BARAK, 2002; ARAÚJO, 2017). Metodologicamente foca-se na dinâmica de proteção social, interpretação constitucional, Projeto Expedição da Cidadania, Resp n.º. 1.352.721-SP e Resp n.º 1649636/MT. Verifica-se postura judicial incrementando a constituição ao primar a solidariedade social.

A história mostra que nada é totalmente novo e que por isso o antigo não deve ser descartado e sim conhecido para que novos conhecimentos sejam construídos. Assim, quando entrevistado por Rudy M. Baum, Henry Taube, Prêmio Nobel de Química de 1983, disse que foi um erro o desaparecimento da análise qualitativa dos currículos das universidades norte-americanas, porque esta constituía um meio de introduzir a química descritiva e de motivar os alunos a estudarem as reações químicas que, em sua opinião, “são o coração da química” [1]. Em vista desta polêmica e das possíveis opções para o emprego da disciplina de Química Analítica Qualitativa como ferramenta para o ensino básico dos equilíbrios químicos em solução aquosa, apresenta-se a seguir uma visão crítica da seqüência histórica do desenvolvimento dos procedimentos de análise qualitativa.

O estudo partindo da investigação da “emergência” da expressão “ativismo judicial” analisa interpretação judicial construtiva ou autorrestritiva. Como exemplo, jurisprudência do Superior Tribunal de Justiça sobre desaposentação, pois é dada pela interferência daquele Tribunal. O referencial teórico pauta-se em ativismo judicial substituto de políticas públicas do Poder Legislativo ou Executivo pelo Judiciário (BAUM, 1987) no conjunto de valores éticos que compõe a melhor prática jurídica possível na comunidade (DWORKIN, 2011). Metodologicamente foca-se na analise do ativismo judicial e REsp nº. 1334488/SC. Verifica- se um ativismo judicial sob os aportes teóricos do Constitucionalismo Contemporâneo na tese confirmada pelo STJ sobre a desaposentação.

Tendo em vista que a obra de Monteiro Lobato (1882-1948) foi publicada pouco depois da de L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) – de forma que podemos considerar que tais obras tiveram influências similares de seu tempo, apesar de receberem também influências diversas por conta de seu espaço –, e que as obras de literatura infantil de ambos os autores possuem grande importância no Brasil desde então, seja pelos livros em si, adotados em escolas ou leituras paradidáticas, ou pelas inúmeras adaptações que cada um recebeu (este, para o cinema, principalmente, e para o teatro; aquele, para a televisão), e se utilizam do recurso dos mundos fantásticos na figurativização de seus textos, pretende-se com este trabalho traçar uma comparação entre as protagonistas Dorothy, de O Maravilhoso Mágico de Oz (1900), e Lúcia, de Reinações de Narizinho (1931), com o fim de analisar como se dá a representação do feminino, a partir desses atores, nas obras indicadas. A importância de tal análise reside no fato de as duas personagens possuírem diversos pontos em comum, como alguns dos temas que figurativizam na narrativa, mas há outras tantas diferenças entre elas, dadas no percurso utilizado, na forma da representação e no discurso a elas atribuído.

Abstract:
In Natural Language Processing (NLP), speech and text are parsed and generated with language models and parser models, and translated with translation models. Each model contains a set of numerical parameters which are found by applying a suitable training algorithm to a set of training data. Many such training algorithms are instances of the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm. In [BSV15], a generic EM algorithm for NLP is described. This work presents a particular speech model, the Hidden Markov model, and its standard training algorithm, the Baum-Welch algorithm. It is then shown that the Baum-Welch algorithm is an instance of the generic EM algorithm introduced by [BSV15], from which follows that all statements about the generic EM algorithm also apply to the Baum-Welch algorithm, especially its correctness and convergence properties.

Ein zunehmend wichtiges Thema in der Informatik ist der Umgang mit Ähnlichkeit in einer großen Anzahl unterschiedlicher Domänen. Derzeit existiert keine universell verwendbare Infrastruktur für die Ähnlichkeitssuche in allgemeinen metrischen Räumen. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Grundlage für eine derartige Infrastruktur zu legen, die in klassische Datenbankmanagementsysteme integriert werden könnte. Im Rahmen einer Analyse des State of the Art wird der M-Baum als am besten geeignete Basisstruktur identifiziert. Dieser wird anschließend zum EM-Baum erweitert, wobei strukturelle Kompatibilität mit dem M-Baum erhalten wird. Die Abfragealgorithmen werden im Hinblick auf eine Minimierung notwendiger Distanzberechnungen optimiert. Aufbauend auf einer mathematischen Analyse der Beziehung zwischen Baumstruktur und Abfrageaufwand werden Freiheitsgrade in Baumänderungsalgorithmen genutzt, um Bäume so zu konstruieren, dass Ähnlichkeitsanfragen mit einer minimalen Anzahl an Anfrageoperationen beantwortet werden können<br>A topic of growing importance in computer science is the handling of similarity in multiple heterogenous domains.
