Abstract:
Against some problems which exist in the current embedded graphical user interface development such as low efficiency in the operating, poor portability and so on. This paper brings up an embedded GUI development method based on Qt/Embedded. Firstly, the construction technology of X11 virtual compiler platform and the implementation technology of cross-compile environment are described in details which are necessary in GUI development. Secondly, the Qt library file is cut, and the picture is displayed with Chinese-characters in accordance with the specific embedded goal. In the end, prove the valid of the development method based on Qt/Embedded through applications.

Embedded system in general is formed by the embedded computer system and implementing device. Embedded system is a control program stored in ROM embedded processor control board. The basic function of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is to realize the precise data acquisition. RFID reader via the antenna and the RFID tag for wireless communication can be achieved on the label identification code and a memory data read or write operation. The paper presents the development of RFID data management system based on embedded system. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has high efficiency.

Based on the in-depth study of embedded systems technology and characteristics of the ultrasonic vibration drilling process, the new CNC system for ultrasonic vibration drilling based on ARM and μC / OS-II embedded was proposed in this paper. For this system, the kernel of hardware is the 32 -bit embedded CPU LPC2210 with characteristics of high performance and low power consumption. And it is also equipped with the required peripheral modules to extend itself to one whole hardware system and the interface circuit. Its software is based on μC / OS -II real -time embedded operating system, and the required application software needs to be developed so as to turn μC / OS- II real -time embedded operating system into one practical embedded ultrasonic CNC drilling.

Memory accesses account for a large percentage of total power in microprocessor-based embedded systems. The increasing use of microprocessor cores and synthesis, rather than prefabricated microprocessor chips, creates the opportunity to tune a memory hierarchy to the one program that will execute in the embedded system. Such tuning requires fast and accurate estimation of the power and performance of different memory configurations. We describe a general three-step approach to developing such estimators, based on our experiences on several different projects. Each step is increasingly fast, using the previous step to gauge accuracy. The first step uses high-level functional simulation, the second step uses trace simulation, and the third step uses equations. A tool developer can follow these three steps to create a powerful environment for core users to support synthesis of the best memory hierarchy for a particular embedded system. The approach can be applied to components other than memory also.

Agile development methods are widely utilized in software development. There is a growing interest and effort to introduce them to other areas of technology, such as development of space systems. Space systems are typically safety- and mission-critical and therefore their development is strongly regulated and standardized. European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) has created a collection of standards which are extensively followed mainly in European space projects. In this paper, a review and discussion are presented to find out the conflicts between the agile development and the ECSS standards. The presented analysis and discussion show that the ECSS standards do not fully prevent the utilization of agile methods. However, there are aspects to be taken into account in the development methods, contracts and tailoring of standards.

Embedded browsers are designed for customized systems to provide web page browsing function for users and have the characteristics of small volume, little resource consumption and high efficiency. These browsers are compatible for network transmission protocols such as HTTP, WAP and etc. and network markup languages such as HTML, JavaScript, XML and etc. Tailored and modified browsers are suitable for various embedded systems, as well as fitting the requirements of users for acquiring information. Language analyzing for HTML is the core technology in browsers and the analyzing result concerns the browsing efficiency. To understand the design process of embedded lexical analyzer to further address the issues of this field, we accomplished the design of lexical analyzer for embedded browser on the platform of ARM2410-S, a platform for embedded system development, and we made cross compilation on PC platform to generate the binary file suitable for ARM structure, then transplant it onto a development board to finish the lexical analyzing function for embedded browser and obtained satisfying result.

To solve the effect that the multi threading task can be achieved by the TFT of color screen, we adopt MSP430F5438 as the main controller, the main equipment of its hardware system was built by the TFT of touch screen, and the task driving function was completed by using buttons and wireless communication module and other peripherals. And we have developed the application program based on UC/OS operating system utility with the kernel structure and characteristics of UC/OS. It can be realized these function, such as digital tube display, TFT display task, multi-tasking, wireless communication, the task driving system, touch screen and low power verification task. The experimental results show that it completely meets the desired design goals, it works reliable and stable.

With the development of social economy and the improvement of material level, people are paying more and more attention to their own health, and they are also constantly improving their fitness awareness. As far as the current sports equipment is concerned, the boring exercise methods can no longer satisfy people’s pursuit of higher quality fitness exercises. The embedding of the distributed virtual environment can incorporate its perceptual, immersive, and interactive characteristics, which increases the realization of multiuser interactive behavior in the field of sports equipment in the virtual scene. Therefore, this paper proposes the research and development of basketball sports equipment embedded system based on distributed virtual environment. First of all, this article adopts the literature method to learn the application of distributed virtual environment and embedded system in depth and, secondly, designs the embedded system architecture of basketball sports equipment suitable for distributed virtual environment and the software and hardware framework of the embedded system. Finally, the performance, delay comparison, system optimization test, and other aspects of the embedded system are analyzed. The average delay of interactive functions of embedded systems based on distributed virtual environment is 1.4 min, which saves 4 min compared with traditional interactive methods. And, the throughput rate of the system has also been greatly improved. The research on the embedded system of sports equipment based on the distributed virtual environment proposed in this paper will be beneficial to the development of society and economy, and it can also help more people to enrich the way of sports and enhance the fun of sports.

The growing complexity of today's embedded systems demands new methodologies and tools to manage the problems of analysis, design, implementation, and validation of complex-embedded systems. Focusing on this issue, this paper describes a design and implementation toolset using our ODYSSEY methodology, which advocates object-oriented (OO) modeling of embedded systems and its ASIP-based implementation. The proposed approach promotes a smooth transition from high-level object-oriented specification to the final embedded system, which is composed of hardware and software components. The transition from higher to lower abstraction levels is facilitated by the use of our GUI, which supports the intermediate steps of the design and implementation process. In order to illustrate the proposed approach and related toolset, we apply this top-down design and implementation framework to real-world embedded systems, namely JPEG codec and Motion JPEG codec. Experimental results show that the developed tool remarkably decreases the design and verification time with modest performance penalty.

The paper presents the development of a multifunctional flight display system for light-sport aircraft flying. The requirements and design of the system is discussed. It is mainly designed as a backup system for flying rather than a certified flight instrument. An ARM-core embedded system is chosen as the development platform with Linux operation system. The system basically takes advantage of 3-D positioning information from GPS which has been widely used on general aviation aircraft. Its diverse interfaces provide system redundancy with wired or wireless connection to external sensor systems for aircraft attitude, pressure height, and magnetic heading. The proposed flight display system has been developed and running over the embedded system.

Five-axis machining area of free surface is proposed by based on ARM9 and Linux open CNC system's overall structure of the CNC system hardware and software architecture. The system adopts the mode of the host computer PC, the lower computer ARM9 development board. PC completes the model of space surface and generates tool path by Simultaneous Multi-objective Optimization Algorithm on Free-form Surface Five-Axis Machining Tool Path and Tool Posture. The lower computer applies MYSQL database to storage and manage cutter location point information. Other modules access the database through ODBC standard interface. ARM9and PC utilize the way of cross-platform socket data transmission, the stepper motors is controlled by the way of constant acceleration - deceleration.

An embedded, real-time, loosely-coupled INS/GPS integration system has been developed and used for an unmanned land vehicle's control and navigation. For this integrated system, a Kalman filter software is used for INS error damping and corrections via the weighted aiding of a GPS output. The detailed development work will be presented in this paper including algorithm simplification, sensor selection and critical problems solving. Vehicular trial is also conducted. Simulated outage in GPS availability is made to assess the bridging accuracy of this system.
