Abstract:
Pada penelitian ini dirancang antena mikrostrip printed monopole patch elips konfigurasi EMA dan EMB untuk aplikasi pembaca RFID pada pita frekuensi UHF. Bentuk patch elips memiliki dua jenis konfigurasi, yaitu EMA (pencatuan pada sumbu mayor) dan EMB (pencatuan pada sumbu minor). Printed monopole ditambahkan pada bagian ground plane untuk memperbesar bandwidth antena. Antena disimulasikan dan direalisasikan menggunakan bahan FR4 epoxy dengan nilai permitivitas relatif sebesar 4,65 dan ketebalan 1,6 mm, sedangkan patch peradiasi dan ground plane menggunakan bahan tembaga. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan untuk konfigurasi EMA, diperoleh bandwidth sebesar 641,1 MHz dan gain 2,533 dB. Sementara untuk konfigurasi EMB diperoleh bandwidth sebesar 340,54 MHz dan gain sebesar 2,181 dB. Setelah antena direalisasikan, diperoleh hasil pengujian dengan konfigurasi EMA adalah return loss = -43,912 dB, VSWR = 1,013, bandwidth sebesar 1,053 GHz, dan gain = 6,41 dB. Sementara hasil pengujian dengan konfigurasi EMB adalah return loss = -32,409 dB, VSWR = 1,049, bandwidth sebesar 584 MHz, dan gain = 6,2 dB. Hasil simulasi maupun pengujian menunjukkan bahwa konfigurasi EMA memiliki bandwidth dan gain yang lebih baik daripada EMB. Namun demikian, kedua konfigurasi ini menghasilkan pola radiasi yang sama, yaitu pola radiasi omnidirectional pada bidang azimuth dan pola bidirectional pada bidang elevasi.

Abstract:
Televisi merupakan teknologi yang sudah ada sejak beberapa dekade yang lalu. Televisi kini mengalami perkembangan yang awalnya menggunakan modulasi analog, dewasa ini berkembang menggunakan modulasi digital yang harus diimbangi dengan perangkat antena yang handal. Dilatarbelakangi oleh penelitian sebelumnya, maka pada paper ini akan dirancang antena dengan bandwidth yang lebih lebar agar sesuai dengan rekomendasi dari KOMINFO. Pada paper ini, diajukan rancangan antena mikrostrip fraktal Koch iterasi kedua dengan teknik slot pada bagian groundplane-nya dengan pencatuan proximity melalui teknik EMC (electromagnetically coupled) menggunakan bahan material substrat FR4-epoxy dengan konstanta dielektrik bernilai 4,2 pada frekuensi 586 MHz. Perancangan dan simulasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan simulator perancangan antena berbasis Finite Integration Technique (FIT). Berdasarkan simulasi dan analisis yang telah dilakukan, menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggabungkan antara teknik pencatuan EMC dan fraktal Koch yang dimodifikasi menjadi slot pada bagian groundplane mampu meningkatkan bandwidth antenna dan didapatkan bandwidth pada VSWR ≤1,8 sebesar 228,6 MHz, gain pengukuran 2,09 dB, pola radiasi bidireksional dan polarisasi elips horizontal.

Abstract:
Single microstrip antenna has the characteristics of narrow bandwidth and small gain. This paper discusses the design of a microstrip array antenna that works at two working frequencies, namely 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz for WiFi. The method used to obtain dual band frequencies is by adding slots on the side of the patch. The results obtained are the 4-element microstrip array antenna with feed line supply has better results when applied to WiFi. This feed line antenna has a bandwidth of 75 MHz - 184.4 MHz in accordance with IEEE 802.11n standards and has a gain of 4.321 dBi. Whereas the EMC supply has a large gain of 11.54 dBi but the bandwidth obtained is very narrow, namely 27.5 MHz.

La serie que iba a estar en antena durante cinco años ininterrumpidos, el último episodio se emitió el 5 de diciembre de 1974, se convirtió con gran rapidez en un éxito clamoroso. Los Python recogieron el legado del mítico The Goon Show o las comedias de la Ealing, así como de figuras tan relevantes con Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers o Richard Lester que cristaliza en un irreverente programa dispuesto a cuestionar inmisericordemente las formas televisivas y las convenciones culturales. En 2014, l’Ensemble contemporain de Montréal (ECM+), dirigé par Véronique Lacroix, célébrait le 20e anniversaire du projet Génération, concours pancanadien bisannuel de composition. Cet article étudie les démarches des compositeurs qui ont participé à l’édition 2014 : Marie-Pierre Brasset (Québec), Alec Hall (Ontario/New-York), Evelin Ramon (Québec/La Havane) et Anthony Tan (Alberta/Berlin). Y sont proposées certaines bases de réflexion quant à la notion de style appliquée aux démarches de compositeurs de la relève liés à la scène canadienne de musique contemporaine. L’article circonscrit d’abord l’idée de style telle qu’elle a été comprise dans le cadre de cet article. Est ensuite mise en perspective, grâce à cette définition de concept, les démarches des lauréats du projet ECM+ Génération2014. Ceux-ci partagent un certain dialecte stylistique, tout en ayant une forte volonté d’indépendance. On remarque particulièrement un positionnement fort, chez les quatre compositeurs, par rapport aux archétypes de la musique classique occidentale – comme le lyrisme traditionnel et l’expression personnelle. L’idée de recherche et d’expérimentation constante s’est aussi révélée être un angle d’approche important afin d’étudier la notion de style chez les quatre lauréats. L’expression personnelle a été le dernier enjeu majeur commun ayant émergé de cette étude. En conclusion, la prise en charge critique, par les compositeurs, de l’ensemble de contraintes qui définit leur donné stylistique, s’est révélé être un outil de création de sens puissant dans leur travail.

The goal of this master’s thesis was to design antenna working in frequency range from 30 MHz to 1 GHz. Designed biconical antenna requires balanced feed to work properly, therefore designing the balancing unit based on discrete components was necessary. Designed antenna was also constructed and its return loss, gain and radiation patterns were verified by measurement. This master’s thesis also introduces readers into principles of antenna measurements of disturbing signals in the area of EMC and compares different types of antennas for bands of meter and decimeter waves.

The master thesis deals with the design of a low noise preamplifier operating in the frequency range from 30 MHz to 1 GHz, usable for measuring and testing of electromagnetic interference in the electromagnetic compatibility test rooms. The introductory, theoretical, part is focused on the analysis and description of the necessary properties of the low noise preamplifier required for the subsequent design. The practical part deals with the selection of suitable components, simulation, design and subsequent realization of low noise preamplifier. At the end of the thesis the design and the final verification measurements are described and discussed.

Within the military there is great need for reliable communication between vehicles. During the planning and construction of a military RIB, Rigid-hulled Inflatable Boat, it is important to design an efficient antenna system that does not deteriorate out of disorder. It must also be ensured that the antennas transmitted power does not stay in the RIB boat. We have been given assignment to model and simulate a proposed antenna system and assess which tool is best suitable for the task. To analyze the antenna system we will look at the radiated electrical field together with the reflectionand EMC properties. The tool that we choose to use is a software called EMPro produced by Keysight Technologies. In this program we will create 3Dstructures for each individual object, the boat, the three antennas and the seawater. It’s also important to include each objects properties concerning material, so that they correctly reflect the reality. We are covering a broad spectrum with our antennas reaching from 1.6-30MHz, 30-88MHz and 100512MHz. The resulting simulation verifies that electromagnetic field would be powerful enough and that the antennas would not affect each other with the proposed placement. We could also confirm that our antennas reflected an inordinate amount of power but with cause that our models were not an exact replica of the antenna. The software EMPro is a suitable tool for this kind of projects concerning modeling and simulating antenna systems.Within the military there is great need for reliable communication between vehicles. Inom militären finns stort behov av pålitlig kommunikation mellan fordon. Vid konstruktion av ett småfartyg i militärtoch bevakningssyfte är det viktigt att designa ett välfungerande antennsystem som inte försämras utav störningar, det ska även ses till att antennernas utsända effekt inte fastnar i småfartyget. Vi har fått en ritning av hur antennplaceringen är planerad, denna rapport går ut på att verifiera dess funktionalitet samt hitta en mjukvara som kan användas för att verifiera olika antennsystem. För att bedöma antennsystemet kommer denna rapport att undersöka att dess elektriska fält samt reflektionsoch EMC egenskaper, en uppgift som kan lösas med programvaran EMPro (Keysight). I programvaran skapas en 3Dstruktur som innehåller småfartyget, dess 3 stycken antenner samt omfattande havsvatten. Här tas hänsyn till objektens materialegenskaper, antennernas jordning samt de frekvenser antennerna arbetar på, 1.6-30MHz, 30-88MHz samt 100-512MHz. Simulering av systemet gav positiva resultat kring antennsystemets elektromagnetiskafält, antennerna kommer inte heller att störa varandra. Antennerna som vi har modellerat reflekterar orimligt mycket effekt, detta bortser vi från då vi inte haft tillgång till exakt avbildning av antennerna. EMPro är ett verktyg som är lämpligt att använda i detta samt liknande projekt. Dock krävs det att en kraftig dator finns tillgänglig då simuleringar av stora antennsystem baseras på stora uträkningar, som generellt tar lång tid.

Post-war Labour and Conservative governments saw the UK’s global interests as lying primarily with the United States and the Commonwealth. They took no part in the formation of the European Coal and Steel Community or in the proposed European Defence Community, though, when the EDC idea foundered, Prime Minister Anthony Eden played a prominent role in promoting European defence, just as Labour Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin had done in fostering the establishment of NATO. The British sent only an observer to the Messina Conference (1956) that negotiated the terms of the Treaty of Rome establishing the European Community (EEC). The UK set up its own trading bloc (EFTA) but it could not compete politically or economically with the EEC and, in 1961, the government of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan applied for EEC membership, despite the opposition of France’s President de Gaulle.

<em>Abstract</em>.—This chapter provides a listing of fishes known to be present in the Mississippi River from the headwaters at Lake Itasca, Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico terminus. A total of 188 species are presently known from the Mississippi River, including 3 diadromous species and 17 nonnative species that have established self-sustaining populations in one or more reaches of the Mississippi River. Species are classified into three relative abundance categories and noted as residents, peripherals, introduced (established nonnatives), or strays (introduced but not established). The diversity of fishes varies longitudinally with 78 species in the reach from the headwaters to St. Anthony Falls; 113 and 105 species in the upper (Upper St. Anthony Lock and Dam to Pool 13) and lower (Pools 14–26) impounded reaches, respectively; and 121 and 136 species in the upper (Missouri River confluence to Ohio River confluence) and lower (Ohio River to the Gulf of Mexico outlet) free-flowing reaches, respectively. Although the composition of the Mississippi River fish fauna has changed little despite more than 80 years of habitat alteration, the extirpation of five species in individual reaches of the river may be a forewarning of a system losing resiliency and indicate the need for habitat conservation and rehabilitation to conserve the biodiversity of North America’s largest river.

Abstract:
This chapter builds upon the concept of Uberveillance introduced in the seminal research of M. G. Michael and Katina Michael in 2006. It begins with an overview of sousveillance (underwatching) technologies and examines the “We're watching you but you can't watch us” hypocrisy associated with the rise of surveillance (overwatching). Surveillance cameras are often installed in places that have “NO CAMERAS” and “NO CELLPHONES IN STORE, PLEASE!” signage. The author considers the chilling effect of this veillance hypocrisy on LifeGlogging, wearable computing, “Sixth Sense,” AR Glass, and the Digital Eye Glass vision aid. If surveillance gives rise to hypocrisy, then to what does its inverse, sousveillance (wearable cameras, AR Glass, etc.), give rise? The opposite (antonym) of hypocrisy is integrity. How might we resolve the conflict-of-interest that arises in situations where, for example, police surveillance cameras capture the only record of wrongdoing by the police? Is sousveillance the answer or will centralized dataveillance merely turn sousveillance into a corruptible uberveillance authority?

Adrian Danks points out that, although it is relatively common to examine the collaborations between various actors and directors working in the 1950s Western – John Wayne/John Ford, James Stewart/Anthony Mann, etc. – the series of three varied films made by Daves and Glenn Ford between 1956 and 1958 – Jubal, 3:10 to Yuma, and Cowboy – have seldom attracted attention. While at least one of these films, 3:10 to Yuma, has been championed in terms of Daves’ spatially and tonally expressive direction and of Ford’s morally ambiguous but effortlessly genial characterisation, this extraordinary trio of films have seldom been examined in relation to one another. Danks reads the collaboration between Ford and Daves as symptomatic of the work of both actor and director, and their sympathetic, subtle, ‘benevolent’, and relatively unadorned approach to various subjects and character types. In the process, he helps pinpoint some of the key reasons why both of these important but workaday figures have remained relatively underestimated and why they need to be brought to the forefront of a more complex understanding of the variations possible in the ‘classical’ Western.

The first published letters addressing the archbishop of Voronezh and Zadonsk Ignatiy (worldly name — Matvey Semyonov) from his contemporaries date back to 1842–1849 — the period of ministry of the bishop in the Don and Voronezh dioceses. In addition to information about various events, letters contain information about the relations between hierarchs, supported through the years by the relations of the teacher and the student, the godfather and the professed, fellow students at the academy or seminary. The correspondents of Archbishop Ignatius include Metropolitan Filaret (worldly name — Fyodor Amfiteatrov) and Philaret (worldly name — Vasily Drozdov) (both participated in the consecration of Archimandrite Ignatius to Bishop of Staraya Russa); Archbishop Saint Antoniy (worldly name — Avraamiy Smirnitskiy); Archbishop Grigoriy (worldly name — Georgiy Postnikov), who later became Metropolitan of Petersburg; as well as the former student of Ignatius at St. Petersburg Theological Academy — Arseniy (worldly name — Fyodor Moskvin), who later became Metropolitan of Kiev; Archbishop Iakov (worldly name — Iosif Vecherkov), etc. The introductory article to the published letters contains detailed biographical information compiled from archival and rare sources. The era, the place and the role of Eminent Ignatiy in church history arecharacterised in it, the circumstances accompanying the letters are clarified. The published epistolary documents are equipped with biographical references about the correspondents of Archbishop Ignatiy and with an extensive scientific commentary.

Abstract:
In the 16th century, the Croatian Protestant authors at Urach printed the texts in Glagolitic, Cyrillic and Latin script, in an effort to reach a wider audience. One of those texts is Spovid i spoznanie prave krsztianske vere, translated in 1564 by Antun Dalmatin and Stipan Konzul, and published in Glagolitic and Latin script. That literary work is the translation of the critical edition of The Augsburg Confession written by Philipp Melanchthon. It is a non-liturgical text divided into two parts: the first part contains 21 printed articles or „artikul“ and the second one consists of longer articles on religion, good deeds, bad habits, etc. The previous research of Croatian Protestant texts was principally centred on the study of the New Testament, while only recently have non-liturgical Protestant texts come under scientific scrutiny. It has already been known that the languages of liturgical and non-liturgical texts differ, the former having considerably more Old Church Slavonic features. In this paper I am going to study linguistic, primarily morphological features in the text not previously linguistically processed (Spovid i spoznanie prave krsztianske vere), and compare them to the New Testament linguistic features. The findings will help me establish the extent of variety between the language of non-liturgical and liturgical Protestant texts published by Croatian Protestants in the same period.

<em>Abstract</em>.—The Mississippi River flows 3,734 km from its source at Lake Itasca, Minnesota to its outlet at the Gulf of Mexico. Along its course, it collects water from portions of two Canadian provinces and 41% of the conterminous United States. Although greatly altered for navigation and flood control throughout much of its length, the Mississippi River remains an important fishery resource that provides habitat for 188 species of fishes and recreational and commercial fishing opportunities. The objectives of this chapter are to describe the contemporary fisheries habitat throughout the Mississippi River, identify how management to achieve human benefits influences the fishes and their habitats, and summarize efforts to conserve and enhance fish habitat. The 826-km headwater reach is entirely in Minnesota and remains largely unaltered. The reaches that extend 1,059 km from St. Anthony Falls, Minnesota to above the confluence with the Missouri River near St. Louis, Missouri have been altered by impoundment that has affected floodplain function, increased sedimentation of backwaters, and homogenized the formerly diverse aquatic habitats. After the confluence with the Missouri River, the Mississippi River flows freely for 1,849 km to the Gulf of Mexico. The alterations of the free-flowing reaches of greatest significance to the fisheries resource are reducing the duration and height of the flood pulse as a consequence of shortening the river channel, disconnection of the river from its historic and present floodplain, and loss of secondary channel–island complexes. Engineering features to improve commercial navigation have also added habitat and, when wisely manipulated, can be used to rehabilitate habitat. Some aspects of water quality have improved, but legacy chemicals and nutrient-laden inflows and sediments remain problems. Although true restoration in the sense of restoring all environmental conditions to an unaltered state is unlikely, the future value of the Mississippi River as a fisheries resource will depend on actively maintaining diverse and accessible aquatic habitats to support food webs and water quality suitable for fishes.
