The article presents the results of geospatial analysis of natural forests of the Ukrainian Carpathians, among which two categories are distinguished – virgin forests and old-growth forests. Field identification of natural forests was carried out in accordance with the criteria and indicators defined by the Carpathian Convention. In total, such forests cover almost 95 thousand hectares in the region, most of which grow within the Zakarpattia region. Most of the natural forests are preserved in the ecoregions of the Polonyny Borzhavy-Krasnoi (17.6 thousand ha) and Central Gorgany (13.2 thousand

Formulation of the problem. For the time being the formation of an ecological network in Ukraine is the most effective way to preserve biological and landscape diversity. This process is characterized by the use of two approaches. The first is based on national legislation, methods of spatial planning in accordance with the geobotanical and landscape features of the region. The second approach is based on the European legislation, in particular, the Bern Convention. Transcarpathian region is no exception. Introduction. Planning of ecological networks at the local level is one of the most difficult stages of geospatial organization of the territory, which requires a detailed and balanced approach, thorough analysis of topographic materials, land management data and the use of geographic information technologies. Local-level eco-networks have a number of features related to the need for a high level of detalization and connectivity of their components. For them, specific model questions are formed about the assignment of certain areas to the structural and functional elements of the ecological ne

The children's classic had sold widely and even been dramatized during Fitzgerald's childhood. Its emphasis on the greenness of the Emerald City foretells the role played by the colour green in Fitzgerald's novel. Baum's relentless optimism offers a foil to the profoundly tragic vision of the novelist; his title figure (also from the American Midwest) resembles Gatsby in his fraudulence.
