Abstract:
This work seeks to evaluate, the links between the physical effects of enclavement and the development of the rural sector in Menchum Valley of the North West Region of Cameroon. It postulates the deterrent effect of physical enclavement on the livelihood of the people. Data collected from the field between 2017 and 2019 using the survey method (quantitative and qualitative methods 96 questionnaires administered, 6 focus groups, and 530 sample size), was treated using SPSS and Excel. The findings brought out 3 basic issues which are: enclavement naturally affects the inputs and output in the area, it discourages peasants’ agricultural sales as the main source of livelihood and inaccessibility induced by physical enclavement[1] principally in the rainy season makes movement in and out of the area difficult and renders the people poor due to the fact that there are few buyers and many sellers thus supply greater than demand and prices are low. A total of 80% of the respondents think that the Menchum Falls (nature’s gift to the Valley) can be a very strong force in disenclaving Menchum Valley and improving on their quality of live of the people if a dam to harness electricity is constructed on it.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article deals with the use of history textbooks imported from Serbia in the specific context of Kosovo Serb enclavement. It provides a content analysis of history textbooks used by Kosovo Serb pupils in Kosovo in terms of their contribution to Kosovo Serb collective identity building. This article focuses on the interaction between the enclaved environment within which Kosovo Serbs have lived since 1999 and the narratives contained in the history textbooks, to highlight how this interaction influences the way Kosovo Serbs consider their identity. First, I start by showing that history textbooks used by Kosovo Serbs in Kosovo emphasize religious identity. Next, I argue that dialogic relation between past and present, understood through the dynamic interaction between the enclaved environment and history textbook narratives, contributes to the emergence of enclaves as ethnoscapes.

Abstract:
The shortening Z-osteotomy of the proximal phalanx of the hallux has been presented as an alternative to the Regnauld enclavement procedure for patients with the appropriate indications. In addition to sharing the same positive characteristics as the Regnauld procedure, the Z-osteotomy has technical and physiologic advantages. The advantages of the Z-osteotomy over the Regnauld include maintenance of the intrinsic attachments at the base of the proximal phalanx, less risk of avascular necrosis, less technical difficulty, and absence of complications associated with an autogenous bone graft. Also, it does not affect the sesamoid apparatus. Research and extended follow-up studies will continue at Lakewood Regional Medical Center. In the last year, one author has completed approximately 13 of these procedures. The postoperative results have been encouraging and successful with one exception. In one case, the increase of the hallux interphalangeal angle was probably caused by excessive tightening of the distal screw compared with the proximal screw.

Abstract:
AbstractPhysical enclavement, away from out-group members, may determine when identify fusion leads to self-sacrifice. When people surround themselves with ideologically similar others, their attitudes may polarize and become moralized, leading to more violence and hostility toward people who do not share those attitudes. We discuss how this segregation may increase the amount of political violence in typically nonviolent systems.
