Abstract:
The 4-bit Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) is a fundamental component in digital systems, responsible for executing a range of arithmetic and logic operations on 4-bit binary inputs. This ALU design methodology outlines the construction of a 4-bit ALU capable of per- forming operations such as addition, subtraction, bitwise AND, OR, XOR, and bit-shifting (left and right). The architecture utilizes a 4-bit adder/subtractor for arithmetic operations, implementing two’s complement for subtraction. Logic operations are handled through standard logic gates (AND, OR, XOR), while shifting operations are f

Thus, the present work presents a method to minimize the use of the existing power grid and increase the utilization rate of energy generated through RESs. The aim of this study was to investigate the technologies and policy instruments available to improve efficiency in data centres. Data centres consume a significant and increasing proportion of the world’s electricity, and much of this electricity is consumed in cooling the computing equipment housed in these facilities. Significant potential exists to improve the efficiency of cooling in data centres. One popular method for improving efficiency in data centre cooling is to physically separate the hot and cold air streams using ‘aisle containment’ systems. This has been shown to reduce ‘bypass

Diesel engine and generator sets (gensets) have been extensively used for standby and remote power generation over the past hundred years. Due to their use for standby power, these diesel gensets are designed to operate in conjunction with the grid, which relates to a fixed speed operation with a 60 Hz AC output. For operation in remote conditions, such as military and disaster relief applications, this fixed speed operation results in limiting the power output available from the engine, as well as the overall efficiency of the system. After more than a century of the ultimate dominance of AC in distribution systems, DC distribution is being re-considered. However, the advantages of AC systems cannot be omitted. As an intermediate solution, hybrid AC/DC distribution systems or microgrids are proposed.
