The effects of fuel quality and pollution control devices on SOF and PAHs emissions in particle matter (PM) for China V heavy-duty (HD) diesel engine fueled with China III, China IV and China V diesel were studied by using soxhlet extraction technique and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) technique. Two engines used were equipped with Diesel Oxidation Convert (DOC)+Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Select Catalytic Reduction (SCR) individually. It is found that the SOF mass fraction in PM rises remarkably and total PAHs concentration declines obviously with the improvement of dies

In this article, we address several key questions related to teaching a professional discipline in English. Specifically, we explore how to select appropriate materials, assess text complexity, and compile a list of terms for vocabulary study. We argue that an effective course requires the instructor to possess both subject matter expertise and effective foreign language teaching methods. Our focus is on the process of preparing and teaching English-language material within a professional discipline at the university level. On entering school, rural Australian children from Indigenous backgrounds are thrown into an unfamiliar environment, linguistically and culturally, which sets them up for failure. The author, working closely with elders and community in Alice Springs, has drawn on her considerable experience in both Indigenous education and TESOL to address this disadvantage by developing a progressive series of early readers specifically targeted to rural Indigenous learners. This innovative series of books and resources is developed to teach both reading and Standard Australian English (SAE) to speakers of A

AbstractParticulate matter (PM) is an important component in the atmosphere, affecting air quality, health, radiation balance, and global climate. To assess regional air quality in the city of Fez, an intensive field campaign was carried out in the autumn of 2019 in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco. Aerosol sampling was performed simultaneously at two urban sites in the city of Fez: (1) Fez University (FU), a sub-urban site, and (2) Fez Parc (FP), an urban site located in the city center of Fez, using PM10 collectors. Various laboratory analyses were carried out, including PM mass, trace met

IntroductionI have been studying the creation of Metro style train travel in Sydney for over a decade. My focus has been on the impact that media has had on the process (see Richardson, “Curatorial”; “Upheaval”; “Making”). Through extensive expert, public, and media research, I have investigated the coalitions and alliances that have formed (and disintegrated) between political, bureaucratic, news media, and public actors and the influences at work within these actor-networks. As part of this project, I visited an underground Métro turning fifty in Montreal, Canada. After many years studying t

Social media companies like to claim the world. Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook is “building a global community”. Twitter promises to show you “what’s happening in the world right now”. Even Parler claims to be the “global town square”. Indeed, among the fungible aspects of digital culture is the promise of geographic fungibility—the interchangeability of location and national provenance. The taglines of social media platforms tap into the social imagination of the Internet erasing distance—Marshall McLuhan’s global village on a touch screen (see fig. 1).
