Marine construction is a growing source of biodiversity loss in our oceans. The ecological impacts of marine constructions arise both from their destruction and degradation of natural habitats, but also their flat and often featureless surfaces, which provide little protection to marine life from predation and environmental stressors (Bulleri, Chapman 2010; Airoldi et al. 2005). The net effect is loss of native biodiversity, and spread of pest species. Marine “eco-engineering” seeks to mitigate some of these impacts by co-designing marine constructions for humans and nature (Chapman et al. 201

In this paper, based on the Hoek–Brown nonlinear failure criterion of rock mass and taking seepage factor into account, the stress state of rock mass around the underwater tunnel adjacent constructions can

Matrices are widely used in Block Cipher Diffusion layers, usually chosen for offering maximal branch numbers, and allowing lightweight hardware implementations through their low XOR Count. When implemented in software however, is XOR Count the only metric? This project will utilize the parallelism provided by modern SIMD vector instructions to evaluate metrics, by implementing different algorithmic approaches. Timing their executions will hopefully provide some insight into the effect of the immense complexity of modern architectures and software tools on the expected outcome of an algorithm.

The approach we take is based on the program of geometric engineering, in which 4d theories are constructed from compactifications of type IIB strings on Calabi-Yau manifolds. Due to their ease in fabrication, relatively high mechanical properties and low costs, steels are the most widely favoured material for the construction of offshore platforms. The mos
