ABSTRACT: This article documents the development and features of a print bilingual dictionary of Witsuwit'en, an Indigenous language of North America (Dene family), with accompanying website. Constructing lexical entries for verbs in Dene languages is especially challenging. This article discusses the tension between constructing linguistically adequate entries for Witsuwit'en verbs while at the same time making the dictionary usable for the increasing numbers of non-native speakers. The various parts of the dictionary were compiled using "legacy" software, Lexware.

Based on a year-long pilot project initiated by a Greater Boston high school teacher, we present evidence: (1) that examining the spoken and written languages represented in the classroom captures students’ interest and engages them in critical inquiry about the nature of linguistic knowledge and about their beliefs about language; (2) that the analysis of students’ home languages validates these languages in the school context, defining them as a rich resource worthy of study, rather than as a hindranc

The basic reason for the application of this Project-Based Learning method is that, students were less motivated in following the EFL course. Students found that English would give a very minimum support for Balinese language and culture. English as a foreign language seems to be a threat for Balinese language sustainability.
