Abstract:
The Mobile Enterprise is a new form of enterprise in the contemporary mobile era. Although several well-known enterprise architecture frameworks are used by enterprises, it is apparent that there is no industry standard available to enable an enterprise to transform its business processes to incorporate mobile technologies to advantage. This article presents a conceptual Mobile Enterprise Architecture Framework and supporting methodology and process model which can aid enterprise decision makers to evaluate the business values, and analyze the risks and other critical business and technical factors for enterprise mobile initiatives and mobile transitions. The framework covers both the enterprise and mobile enterprise architecture domains that represent the Enterprise, Business, and Mobile Adoption levels. The goal at the Enterprise Level is to obtain a mobile enterprise and the technologies adopted at the Mobile Adoption Level are the different mobile technologies to be incorporated. Each level contains some important components impacting the mobile enterprise transformation. The methodology and process model cover the Strategy, Analysis, Design, Implementation, and Maintenance stages for each mobile initiative, and were validated in a research project against some Ontario Government mobile initiatives.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) has been portrayed as one of the cornerstones of modern IT Governance, with increasing numbers of organisations formally recognising an EA function and adopting EA frameworks such as TOGAF (http://www.opengroup.org/togaf/) (The Open Group Architectural Framework). Many claims have been made of the benefits of EA, yet little is known as to what organisations actually do or evidence of the benefits they accrue through EA. In this paper we report on the results of a small scale survey painting a snapshot of current EA practice in large UK organisations across the private and public sectors.

Abstract:
The suitable utility of driving the enterprise architecture exercise is to utilize the enterprise architecture framework as the fundamental guidance. But there are some challenges of applying those frameworks for government and their agencies because most of the frameworks have concentrated focus for the private sector which some fundamentally requirement of government would be specifically different. This paper aims to propose that the sustainable government enterprise architecture framework specifically applies for the national strategic planning in the optimum exercise process and clarity guidance for the information technology organization being able to transform and improve their services for an achievable adaptation efficiency, simplification, cost management, collaboration, shareability, and standardization which accommodate the rapidly changing service usability on digitalization known as “e-Government.” The fundamental design idea of this proposed framework has identified five keys principles, which are (1) legislation support, (2) top-down target architecture, (3) architecture governance, (4) shared services, and (5) cross-organization collaboration that would be considered as the key critical success factors for achieving the exercise. The overall response of the specific expert survey of this proposed framework has demonstrated the consensus responded at 90 percentage agreeable, which would strongly consider this framework applicable for groups of developing countries as the baseline framework for their digitalized transformation.

Abstract:
The circular economy is central to the agenda of responsible production and consumption with propositions for the conservation of natural resources and a broader understanding of the obligations of enterprises and product developers. The circular economy is challenging traditional operating models of enterprises due to the need to manage larger parts of the product life cycle and value chains. A linear economy will normally address a smaller part of the life cycle. The operating models of companies are supported with respect to information and technology with an enterprise architecture model. This article examines the necessary steps for analysing and designing the enterprise architecture model, aiming to facilitate the transformation of an enterprise from operating in a linear to operating in a circular economy model. The fundamentals and requirements of the circular economy enterprise are extracted to isolate the design requirements for the operating model, entailing cross-enterprise collaboration, traceability, and a broader value chain understanding. Furthermore, it conceptualizes enterprise architecture and its role and importance in connecting business strategies and operating technologies. This article develops an enterprise architecture framework, named the Circular Economy Enterprise Architecture Framework (CEEAF), which can form and support the effort of transitioning companies or be embedded into existing enterprise architecture frameworks. The CEEAF differs from traditional enterprise architecture frameworks by addressing the broader responsibility of the enterprise, the extended enterprise, the elimination of end-of-life perspectives and mind-sets, and the capabilities of the individual enterprise and its design activities.

Abstract:
Resilient business enterprises are able to survive strategic disruptions like technology disruptions and come back more successful. They succeed because they develop and effectively implement the resilience strategies of mitigation, adaption, and transformation. This paper proposes an integrated resilience framework that is based on a combination of enterprise architecture and business architecture frameworks. At the core of the proposed framework is a meta-model and a method. The framework guides the development of a unified vision of how a business enterprise can address a specific strategic disruption and transform itself in a successful way. The framework articulates the vision through the lens of business blueprint views that guide the formation of transformation initiatives. Through the mapping capabilities of the framework, the transformation initiatives cross over the boundaries between organization structures and domains. In the last section we demonstrate our proposed method and meta-model with the help of a case study.

Abstract:
This paper presents a new mathematical framework for the representation and design of enterprise information architectures (EIA), also known as simply enterprise architectures (EA). Set theory is used to represent an EA as an 8-tuple consisting of a set of requirements, a set of business processes, a set of business systems, a set of data elements, a set of applications, a set of technologies, a set of constraints and business rules, and a set of architectural metrics and their values. These sets are then used to represent their respective architectural views, i.e. the Business Process Architectural View, the Business Systems Architectural View, etc. Next, it is shown that these multiple architectural views are all subsets of the same design point in the resource space. Design considerations leading to a Pareto efficient design point are discussed. Finally, the concept of Pareto design optimality is illustrated with one example in aircraft design and one example in database design.

Abstract:
Enterprise architecture (EA) is an integrated strategy, business, and information systems approach for analysis, governance, and information technology (IT) alignment. It is a comprehensive blueprint that requires the careful planning, documentation, and analysis of all the operations of an organization. Employing EA helps companies achieve strategic goals with the support of business activities and information systems. However, some large corporations avoid EA frameworks and methodologies owing to their implementation difficulties or the presence of conflicting frameworks and business needs. The goal of this paper is to increase large organizations’ awareness of enterprise architecture best practices (EABPs) and methods of EA framework implementation. Thus, this research has developed an EABP capability matrix to measure companies’ capacities to implement EABPs and provided lessons based on how 17 organizations implemented EABPs. Based on an analytical literature review, the developed matrix includes eight critical EABPs categorized under four themes: EA framework and methodology, strategic practices, business activities, and information systems. As practical and theoretical contributions: (1) This inclusive approach was not found in the EA literature as most past research focuses on only one of these themes. (2) The EA matrix can be used as a measurement matrix research methodology to measure the extent to which cases adopt EABPs, making it beneficial to EA researchers and practitioners. (3) EA practitioners can also use it to practically determine and rectify the weak points of EABPs, thus taking advantage of EA frameworks. The findings indicate that many large organizations implement EABPs as business-as-usual practices without EA frameworks and methodologies. However, those that adopt an EA framework use the open group architecture framework and rely heavily on enterprise resource planning in the implementation of EABPs.

Implementation of IS / IT (Information Systems) / (Information Technology) is indispensable in a business process when a organizations wants to grow bigger, and its operational level is getting less simple, so instructions on data, technology, and application functionality will also be increasingly needed. PT Ikido Jorr Indo Sepatu is a manufacturing company that produces shoes for babies, and toddlers. The authors find problem such as most of its business processes still do not take full advantage and not optimally using IS and IT, and sometimes problems in the form of human errors, such as writing wrong memos, wrong data entry, and not having “real time” data processing between each of company division that can interfere with ongoing business processes. Therefore the authors will design a company enterprise architecture (EA) that results in harmony between IS / IT and the business needs of PT Ikido Jorr Indo Sepatu. In this study, the authors will design the EA using TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) with the ADM (Architecture Development Method) method. The results of this study are in the form of a enterprise architecture blueprint for the TOGAF method that is adapted to the business processes that are running at PT. Abstract:
In recent years, enterprise architecture (EA) has captured increasing interest as a means to systematically consolidate and manage various enterprise artefacts in order to provide holistic decision support for business/IT alignment and business/IT landscapes management. To provide a holistic perspective on the enterprise over time, EA frameworks need to co-evolve with the changes in the enterprise and its IT over time. In this paper the authors focus on the emergence of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). There is a need to integrate SOA with EA to keep EA relevant and to use EA products to help drive successful SOA. This paper investigates and compares the integration of SOA elements in five widely used EA frameworks: Archimate, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), Department of Defence Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the Ministry of Defence Architecture Framework (MODAF). It identifies what SOA elements are considered and their relative position in the overall structure. The results show that services and related elements are far from being well-integrated constructs in current EA frameworks and that the different EA frameworks integrated SOA elements in substantially different ways. The results can support the academic EA and SOA communities with a closer and more consistent integration of EA and SOA and support practitioners in identifying an EA framework that provides the SOA support that matches their requirements.

Abstract:
Permanent changes that happen within the external surroundings of an enterprise, respectively within the macro-environment, significantly influence its efficiency and behaviour. The framework for these changes is made up by Enterprise Architecture (EA). Impacts of these changes are distinct in both, the internal environment of an enterprise as well as in its mid-environment, being of dynamic nature, and their elimination is a basic assumption of keeping the enterprise's competitiveness. The article focuses on analysing the macro-environment factors' influence on the changes in enterprise EA from the perspective of their sector differentiation. Tests have been carried out both ways – for chosen macro-environment factors, as well as macro-environment areas as a whole. The research survey was carried out on a file of 456 enterprises from the whole of the Czech Republic, out of which the production and industry sectors included 187 enterprises, and the service sector 255 enterprises. Pearson's chi-quadrate test was used as a statistical method. At the same moment, macro-environment factor prediction was tested, respectively the importance attached by top managers to the individual macro-environment factors in the future. Research results have proven a significant sector differentiation from the perspective of macroenvironment factors' impact on EA, while a greater influence of these factors has been indicated mainly in the service sector. It may be assumed that top managers begin to prove a risk symptom caused by a change in the economic cycle.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is principles, methods and models that are used in the design and realization of an enterprise’s organizational structure, business processes, information systems and IT infrastructure. There has been a steady growth in the number of research conducted in this field, however there is a need to consolidate the focus of the research in this field. This paper conducts an extensive review on 177 journal publications in the field of EA from 1974 to 2016 available in Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) database. The aim of this paper is to present scholars and practitioners with a detailed overview on the available research in the field of EA. The selected papers have been grouped into 27 categories. The contents of papers in each category are summarized and future research direction for each categories are outlined. This overview indicates that the research in EA that has spanned from late 90’s till date, requires more concentrated effort in terms of developing new methodologies and framework to integrate enterprise applications that are the need of today’s growing business that venture into new technologies like SOA, frameworks, modeling and healthcare.

Abstract:

The relationship between Information Technology and Business has been growing, materialized through increasing investment in IT. This is typically considered a burden, as such companies have been seeking alternative supplying approaches like Outsourcing, Managed Services, or Cloud Computing. In this paper, the authors examine how investment is made and stress the balance that has to be reached between the expectations of the business versus the capabilities and cost of IT. A framework for assessing investments in IT that seeks to highlight the advantages of merging IT Benefits Management with an Enterprise Architecture is presented.

Abstract:
Despite the increasing interest to adopt enterprise architecture (EA) concept, there is a scarcity of literature that discusses the development of EA in the public sector. Hence, the purpose of this article is to empirically investigate the development approach of EA in the public sector. The research used a qualitative case study to build an in-depth understanding of the development approach as well as the enterprise architects roles and the stakeholders' roles played at each development stage. The government architecture framework (GAF) of the Omani public sector was used as the case study that included GAF documentation review and interviews with architects and stakeholders who participated in the development of GAF. The findings showed that the GAF development started by establishing architecture knowledge, EA frameworks & IT standards analysis, high-level architecture framework, working group formation and the development of architecture documents. The enterprise architects had six roles whereas the stakeholders played three roles during the development of GAF. The findings are expected to expand the knowledge of the EA development approach to promote developing a standard EA framework for the public sector.

Abstract:
This journal article proposes a cross-business domain applied holistic mathematical model (AHMM) that is the result of a lifetime long research on business transformations, applied mathematics, software modelling, business engineering, financial analysis, and global enterprise architecture. This ultimate research is based on an authentic and proprietary mixed research method that is supported by an underlining mainly qualitative holistic reasoning model module. The proposed AHMM formalism attempts to mimic some functions of the human brain, which uses empirical processes that are mainly based on the beam-search, like heuristic decision-making process. The AHMM can be used to implement a decision-making system or an expert system that can integrate in the enterprise's business, information and communication technology environments. The AHMM uses a behaviour driven development environment or a natural language environment that can be easily adopted by the project's development teams. The AHMM offers a high level implementation environment that can be used by any team member without any prior computer sciences qualification. The AHMM can be used also to model enterprise architecture (EA) blueprints, business transformation projects, or knowledge management systems; it is supported by many real-life cases of various business domains. The uniqueness of this research is that the AHMM promotes a holistic unbundling process, the alignment of various EA standards and transformation strategies to support business transformation projects.

Abstract:

Web services provides a distributed computing architecture, with an emerging way of service oriented architecture (SQA). Here service oriented architecture is an interface to both computer systems and web services. Which implements an interaction with each other in new and different ways. According to service oriented architecture it virtually provides a platform for web services to communicate with each other. As it was an easy way for communicating with both clients and services. Many organizations and companies are either evaluating themselves into an enterprise information architectures, or they are in the process of getting adopt to the web services technology. As web services are platform independent it is playing a major role in the enterprise environment, and currently web services are widely accepted by many companies and organizations. So commonly web services possess some challenges to the enterprise environment. As a part of it web service must be tested before publish into a service oriented architecture. It involves large number of test cases, test scenarios that takes more time and effort. Testing management is needed so that it should control the time effort and should reduce the complexity of web service in a large software system, also in a real time world. Automation testing faces these challenges and fixes these issues. Automation testing has an ability to handle the complexities which are experiencing by the web services in a current environment. This paper presents the automatic testing strategies of a web service and detect the problems between both manual and automation testing.
