Abstract:
RIM, or “Ryegrass Integrated Management,” is a user-friendly weed management software that integrates long-term economics. As a model-based decision support system, RIM enables users to easily build 10-year cropping scenarios and evaluate the impacts of management choices on annual rigid ryegrass populations and long-term profitability. Best used in a workshop format to enable learning through interactions, RIM can provide insights for the sustainable management of ryegrass through “what-if” scenarios in regions facing herbicide resistance issues. The upgrade of RIM is presented, with changes justified from an end-user perspective. The implementation of the model in a new, intuitive software format is presented, as well as the revision, update, and documentation of over 40 management options. Enterprises, establishment systems, and control options were redefined to represent current practices, with the notable inclusion of customizable herbicide options and techniques for weed seed control at harvest. Several examples of how RIM can be used with farmers to demonstrate the benefits of adopting recommended practices for managing or delaying the onset of herbicide resistance are presented. Originally designed for the dryland broadacre systems of the Australian southern grainbelt, RIM's underlying modeling was restructured to facilitate future updates and adaptation to other weed species and cropping regions.

Abstract:
The data stored for a long time in livestock enterprises will play a crucial role in increasing the productivity in animal production, revealing animal breeding values, meeting qualified breeding needs, making effective breeding organizations, obtaining high income, determining the animals to be kept or as a breeder. Among the important technical data kept in livestock enterprises; ram, bull, and goat and their reproduction, growth-development, yield records (animal weight and wool yield in small ruminants, body weight gain, feed consumption, lactation and milk yield), reproductive performance measures, slaughter and carcass dimensions and characteristics records such as meat quality, animal diseases and vaccination practices can be shown as important technical data in livestock enterprises. Issues such as followed animals and storing identifying information of the animals from this data in the database are being made compulsory for conformity program of Turkey with the European Union by the rule number 27137 “Regulation on the identification, registration and monitoring of sheep and goat type of animals” that published in the official newspaper by Agriculture and Forestry Ministry on 10.02.2009. Nowadays, database software such as MySQL, MS SQL, Postrage SQL, Oracle, Firebird, IBM DB2 and MS Access are used in order to obtain healthy data and store the data safely. Knowledge of the use and cost of this database software and Database Management Systems (DBMS) is important for the enterprise. In this study, it is aimed to give information about the software that adds value to the enterprise and their costs of the operations on enterprise.

Abstract:
Sheep production can be optimised by matching the pasture supply curve to feed demand. This study evaluated the production from four management systems with Merino ewes during 2006–2010 in southern New South Wales by using different combinations of lambing time (winter, split, spring), ram breed (Merino, terminal), and percentage of summer-active pasture species (40% or 20% lucerne, Medicago sativa). All systems were stocked at a similar midwinter rate (dry-sheep equivalents per hectare of 8, 10.2, 13, 11.2 and 11.2 in the successive seasons 2006–2010), and there were three replicates of each system. Groundcover and pasture persistence were not adversely impacted by sheep system because sheep were removed at predetermined biomass triggers. Wool production per hectare was up to 178% or 12 kg/ha higher (P < 0.001) in systems where a later month of lambing allowed an increase in number of ewes per hectare at the same midwinter stocking rate. The quantity of lamb sold was not consistently higher in any one system, or in systems producing both crossbred and Merino lambs vs only Merino lambs, owing to variation in the weight and age of lambs at sale, but was increased (P < 0.001) by 175 kg/ha with use of 40% compared with 20% lucerne in a high-rainfall year. The risk of requiring high levels of supplementary feeding was higher in systems with later lambing because of below-average rainfall between 2006 and 2009. Large increases in production can be achieved from the same pasture base through choice of management system with different lambing time, stocking rate or ram breed, but flexibility is needed to optimise production in varying seasonal conditions.

Abstract:
Enterprise resources planning (ERP) is an automation technology with a systems approach that supports and manages business activities. ERP is the result of the development of information systems for material requirements planning (MRP) and MRP II. Information sharing activities in the supply chain become more accurate and real-time with ERP. ERP's adoption improves organisational performance in managing information, products, and financial flows (Su & Yang, 2010). Previous studies (AL-Shboul, 2018; Ilin, Ivetić, & Simić, 2017; Junior, Oliveira, & Yanaze, 2019; Mayeh, Ramayah, & Mishra, 2016; Rajan & Baral, 2015; Ram, Corkindale, & Wu, 2014) have discussed ERP's adoption, but unfortunately they could not explain the level of adoption in detail. Most researchers have only investigated ERP's adoption based on the use of ERP, regardless of the number of modules used. Conceptually, ERP has five modules, the more of the complete modules that are used, the higher the adoption level is. Consequently, the adoption rate should not be limited to one module, but it is necessary to know how many modules are adopted. Therefore, this research offers an answer to the lack of literature that discusses the level of adoption based on the number of ERP modules. Keywords: Technology; supply chain; enterprise resouces planning (ERP); adoption; manufacturing companies.

Abstract:
Due to the rapid development of new technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and mobile Internet, the data volumes are exploding. Particularly, in the industrial field, a large amount of data is generated every day. How to manage and use industrial Big Data primely is a thorny challenge for every industrial enterprise manager. As an emerging form of service, cloud computing technology provides a good solution. It receives more and more attention and support due to its flexible configuration, on-demand purchase, and easy maintenance. Using cloud technology, enterprises get rid of the heavy data management work and concentrate on their main business. Although cloud technology has many advantages, there are still many problems in terms of security and privacy. To protect the confidentiality of the data, the mainstream solution is encrypting data before uploading. In order to achieve flexible access control to encrypted data, attribute-based encryption (ABE) is an outstanding candidate. At present, more and more applications are using ABE to ensure data security. However, the privacy protection issues during the key generation phase are not considered in the current ABE systems. That is to say, the key generation center (KGC) knows both of attributes and corresponding keys of each user. This problem is especially serious in the industrial big data scenario, because it will cause great damage to the business secrets of industrial enterprises. In this paper, we design a new ABE scheme that protects user’s privacy during key issuing. In our new scheme, we separate the functionality of attribute auditing and key generating to ensure that the KGC cannot know user’s attributes and that the attribute auditing center (AAC) cannot obtain the user’s secret key. This is ideal for many privacy-sensitive scenarios, such as industrial big data scenario.

Abstract Each enterprise must worry about its technical equipment. There are many concepts and strategies to improve the management of the maintenance, e. g. TPM, RBI, LCC, CBM, RCM etc. However, the basis for each one of these systems should be the equipment categorization. The purpose of categorization is to classify equipments according to the type of risk associated with their main function. This allows to focus attention on the parameters and the criteria used to assign the degree of risk when the equipment fails and to determine the proper method of maintenance.

Abstract:
A widely used genetic algorithm (GA) is endorsed to improve the design of a multilayer microwave radar absorbing material (MMRAM) which shows good absorption of radar waves over a broad frequency range. In this research, the authors have used genetic algorithm based on MMRAM which plays an important role in defense and civil applications. The scope of multilayer microwave radar absorbing material (MMRAM) is that it can absorb radar signals and reduce or eliminate their reflection. Its primary use is in defense and certain commercial enterprises. The multilayer RAM design demands the superiority of suitable materials to be used in different layers, a decision about multiple layers, and the optimum breadth of an individual layer. The permeability and permittivity of the materials varying with frequency in a fictitious material are used. The effect of change in thickness and the number of layers of RAM on reflectivity is studied. Since the material characteristics are frequency-dependent, different restrained conditions are used for frequency bands to identify the RAM that has good electromagnetic absorption in the frequency range of 1 to 8 GHz.

Abstract:
In 2008 the Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA) organisation (then known as the Records Management Association of Australasia – RMAA) launched its Technology Survey. The survey attempted to capture a snapshot, predominantly but not exclusively in Australia and New Zealand, and gain empirical evidence about the use of technology adoption trends, RIM capabilities in host organisations and the role of RIM personnel in technology selection and adoption. The survey had a particular focus on Records Management (RM) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems and processes, but also featured questions on the demographics of the participants, organisational policies and processes around these technologies and peripheral devices. In 2010 the survey was repeated. Consequently, the survey became more than a one-off cross-sectional snapshot and could lay claim to being a longitudinal study, however as a longitudinal study instrument the current survey is lacking validity and reliability. A consensus exists, however, that changes are required going forward if the survey is to continue. This consensus is based on issues that have emerged from analysis of the two iterations of the current instrument. The issues that need to be addressed are: • Low participation rate • The relatively high number of questions skipped • The overall length of the survey • Ensuring the survey has a clear and distinct aim • Ensuring what is captured is core to the survey’s aim • Ensuring what is captured is relevant to the RIM profession • The ambiguity of questions • Misunderstanding of questions • Scope – expansion of the instrument to encompass technology learning, knowledge and skills of RIM professions These issues were identified by Brogan and Roberts in their analyses of the 2008 and 2010 data (2009, 2011 and 2012). This study is an examination and revision of the current technology survey instrument, aimed at ensuring that issues of relevancy, currency, usability, design and clarity of terms and definitions are all addressed, resulting in a valid and reliable longitudinal study instrument. The research design employed involved: a) investigation of the peer reviewed literature on survey participation and instrument design; b) investigation of peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed literature on technology in the RIM space; c) Convening of a panel of experts (focus group) to provide feedback on the existing instrument; d) Re-design of the existing instrument taking into account outcomes from a-c; and e) Validation of the re-designed instrument via the Focus Group The Focus Group review involved six highly regarded and knowledgeable participants pro-active in the RIM profession who trialled the instrument in a subsequent Pilot Test. The Focus Group provided additional feedback on scope and usability from a user perspective. The final survey produced will enable RIMPA to be informed on the technology education and training needs of its members, as well as continuing to track technology adoption and RIM program trends in the workplace.

Qualitative and exploratory and descriptive, the research seeks to understand how they should be managed the critical success factors for implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning in the Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco. Management Integrated Systems or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has been widely used for the companies whom intend to integrate the diverse information systems, to bring up to date its technological park and to get competitive advantage. The factors that can take a company to adopt an ERP are most diverse possible, but it is common that these factors are been associated to the reduction of costs, integration and processes optimization, magnifying the businesses, or even though, for being a natural trend between the competitors, suppliers and customers. In a global form, the involved costs with implantation and the deep changes at the organization structure of the company, determine that this process of election would have to be made in an isolated environment of imperfections and unreliabilities. The process of election of an ERP system must have, as main objective to find a solution which better adapt itself to the business requirements, functional necessities and investment capacity of each company, attempting against the most diverse haracteristics of prices and services of each software supplier s. The process of election of an ERP system must be minute and sufficiently rigorous, to prevent a chose that would be made in a precipitated form, preventing the use of this technology in total inadequate processes to the company cultures and operations. The midrange companies, when compared to the great corporations, they tend to be more informal in its processes of business and not to carry through great investments in TI. In this direction, the objective of this study was to analyze the keys factors whish take the entrepreneurs to choose for a solution of integrated management in midrange companies. For this objective was adopted as method the qualitative form of multiple cases, which was accomplished with 17 entrepreneurs in the distribution sector, located in the great S??o Paulo. The results reached in this research come to corroborate the previous affirmation that mentions the cost and factors like integration as motivated elements in the election of the ERP system.

Abstract:
AbstractUser interaction logs allow us to analyze the execution of tasks in a business process at a finer level of granularity than event logs extracted from enterprise systems. The fine-grained nature of user interaction logs open up a number of use cases. For example, by analyzing such logs, we can identify best practices for executing a given task in a process, or we can elicit differences in performance between workers or between teams. Furthermore, user interaction logs allow us to discover repetitive and automatable routines that occur during the execution of one or more tasks in a process. Along this line, this chapter introduces a family of techniques, called Robotic Process Mining (RPM), which allow us to discover repetitive routines that can be automated using robotic process automation technology. The chapter presents a structured landscape of concepts and techniques for RPM, including techniques for user interaction log preprocessing, techniques for discovering frequent routines, notions of routine automatability, as well as techniques for synthesizing executable routine specifications for robotic process automation.

Abstract:
ERP software standardizes an enterprise’s business processes and data. The software converts transactional data into useful information and collates the data so that they can be analyzed. Requirements engineering is an important component of ERP projects. In this paper, we propose: (1) An ERP maturity model (EMM) for assessing the ERP maturity within the organization and (2) A Requirements Engineering Method (REM) for ERP system requirements to capture the requirements from the different types of users of an ERP system, verifying and validating them. The EMM consists of three levels and each level has a focus and a key process area. Key indicators of ERP functionality identified by a major ERP vendor have been used to apply the EMM to an enterprise. This identifies the level of the EMM to which an enterprise belongs. Then the REM is used to enable the enterprise to assess its ERP system requirements and refine it using a knowledge database to reach a higher level in the EMM than the present one. The authors deem that this model can benefit users across all the ERP projects.

The Outcome Document of the recent international diplomatic conference on sustainable development, Rio+20, portrays it as a multi-stakeholder process aimed at increasing the wellbeing of present and future generations in a dynamic, inclusive, equitable, safe, lasting, and environmentally balanced fashion, emphasizing that it should lead to poverty eradication, social development, the protection of all human rights and the elimination of human-provoked damage to the natural environment and resource-base. This reflects a highly complex process. Whereas the wording of its features and purposes exhibits considerable progress in the international policy dialogue, it appears that, among analysts, policy-makers, and practitioners around the world, there could be still large dispersion in the precise understanding of many underlying notions, the main issues, and their interrelationships. Consequently, there is not yet enough clarity among all stakeholders as to how to proceed on the implementation of coherent and coordinated strategies and policies for sustainable development. This chapter presents an analytical framework to look at these matters from a systemic perspective, with the intention of inspiring non-specialists to consider the advantages of the Enterprise Architecture approach to generate more clarity, facilitate communication, enhance policy coherence, and foster cooperation and partnerships for improving sustainable development. Some practical uses of the systems approach to enhance strategy, organization, and management for sustainable development are suggested.

Abstract:
ISO 14031 on “Environmental Performance Evaluation” (EPE) was released in late 1999 and published in Germany by DIN in early 2000 also as DIN EN ISO 14031 in two languages (German and English) as the last standard of the original ISO-14000 family started in 1993 as a follow-up to the UN world summit in Rio 1992. But even before 1999/2000 users had already begun gathering experience with this new instrument for measuring performance, which had proven the standard to be an effective instrument especially for small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) both for continual improvement processes in operative environmental protection and as a basis for lean reporting to external stakeholders. Once again it was the ecological pioneer KUNERT AG which became the first mover to practically apply and test the standard with a view to improving it in view of the first revision process of the standard planned for 2004.

Abstract:
With the continuous upgrading of the economical industry structure and the gradual optimization of the excess capacity, China has begun to get rid of the name “world factory” of “processing with imported materials.” However, there are problems still existing, such as the contradiction between enterprises' poor independent innovation ability and consumers' increasing demands on product quality. Enterprises in China have the great opportunity to “go out” because of “The Belt and Road” strategy, but it is extremely complicated in legal system, customs, and social culture, which means how to use of intellectual property in China coexists risks and opportunities for enterprises. This chapter focuses on analyzing problems of intellectual property rights in China and the importance of the protection and development of intellectual property. In addition, this chapter studies strategies that can be provided for the protection and development of intellectual property in China from the perspective of “The Belt and Road.”

Abstract:
Chapter 5 draws on a broad range of evidence to develop a view of what the agricultural landscape of the Rio Hondo basin, now on the Belize-Mexican border, must have looked like in the heavily populated Classic era landscape. The authors use Contact period Spanish accounts to describe trade in agricultural products–especially cacao, but also achiote and vanilla–that were particularly prized from this region. Ten years of research on the drained field agricultural systems, such as the Chan Cahal fields near Blue Creek, identified the timespan for commercial level production, and computer assisted analysis of aerial and satellite photographs are beginning to document the massive scale of this enterprise.

Abstract:
This article evaluates the incentives to Mexico Innovation Program (PEI), from a regional perspective based on its contribution to the Regional Innovation System (RIS) of Baja California, between 2009 and 2013. Through the both additional behavioral and networks methodologies, the decision making process at companies, and the level of linkages among them, higher education institutions and governmental actors of the RIS is analyzed. The results show that by imposing the financing of innovation projects on the linking of business and scientific actors, PEI is helping to strengthen the RIS, encouraging 15% of its interactions.

Full text
Abstract:
The Functional Resonance Analysis Model (FRAM) defines a framework for accident analysis based on the systems theory and resilience engineering, making it more suitable for complex systems. The purpose of this article is the usage of FRAM to understand the variability in the process of offshore drilling in the Deepwater Horizon accident, and the variability that possibly might exist under other offshore drilling operations. The Deepwater Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico occurred when the Horizon ultra-deepwater semisubmersible oil drilling rig exploded and sank in the northern Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010, killing 11 crew members, injuring 17 others and initiating a huge marine oil spill. The Deepwater Horizon is one of the greatest environmental accidents in the history of oil. Recent demands for new discoveries and exploitation has led companies to challenge even deeper waters, as in the cases of companies in Brazil and South Africa indicating a need to better understand the overall drilling process to avoid accidents. Results of FRAM analysis of Deepwater Horizon accident show that functions "drilling" "cement placement" and "temporary abandonment" are main functions and they were not prepared to cope with process variability to ensure that processes involving diverse and complex enterprises were resilient enough to kept working when dealing with disturbances.
