Full textThe individual-project unit is at the heart of a dynamic entrepreneurial system, which in continuous interaction with its environment. To ensure its survival and development, the entrepreneur is regularly called upon to unite around him a network of actors that can power the system energy and resources it lacks. This research will address this question: In a complex and dynamic entrepreneurial situation, how an entrepreneur builds and develops its network in order to acquire the resources necessary for success and development of its innovative new venture? To answer this question, we mobilized the Actor Network Theory (Callon and Latour, 1986) as a methodology that guides our research. According to this theory, a successful innovation is not linked solely to the genius of an individual, nor the intrinsic value of its project, but it is primarily the result of an effort by a specific combination of actors (human and nonhuman), which meets around the entrepreneur and his project. By adopting a longitudinal methodology, we have followed over a period of two years, the networking dynamics of six innovative new venture projects. We paid particular attention to the role of technical artifacts in this work

Full textThe focus on female entrepreneurship reflects the growing magnitude of this phenomenon worldwide. Indeed, the entrepreneurial potential of women is obvious and this doctorate thesis focuses on this potential in the Cameroonian context. The literature on female entrepreneurship offers works mainly focused on the emergence of firms while writings dealing with development are rare. Yet, despite difficulties linked to access to resources, women entrepreneurs in Cameroon have succeeded. It has appeared both useful and necessary to “exhibit” these cases with the caution ensured by the scientific protocol of the “case study” method. So, our work aims at understanding how and why Cameroonian women entrepreneurs succeed in moving from a “small business” to a more ambitious business. In this regard, in-depth and comparative studies of three enterprises selected by homogenization in the service sector were conducted. The methodological framework thus chosen is supported by the concept of Business Model for the presentation of cases under analysis and by the convention theory for their understanding

Full textThis thesis is interested in the entrepreneur’s personal network in the context of Vietnam, a country engaged in a market economy under the leadership of the Communist Party. On the managerial level, the production of knowledge on the network will make it possible to discard the bad reputation of the term of “personal relation” and to develop a better interpersonal and inter-organizational connection for Vietnamese entrepreneurs. These, nuclei of an emerging dynamic private sector, are still dispersed in an individual functioning. On the academic level, the thesis exploits an expanded view towards the social nature of the entrepreneur’s economic activity. The four case studies specify the role of social groups in the entrepreneur network and their transformation into stakeholders. The thesis focuses finally on the reading of the results in the light of different theories in entrepreneurship

Full textThis research is within the framework of means of production related to knowledge about west African women entrepreneurship activities and namely in Africa, which is scarcely well-known at the academic level. After an analysis of an existing theory over woman entrepreneurship and a study two experimental cases, it has been properly proved to study the women entrepreneur process in Senegal in considering both the individual and collective sides. The purpose of this research is to understand, describe, and explain the process of women entrepreneurship in Senegal by putting the stress on the representation that women are having on their entrepreneur activities in their specific domains. To achieve this objective, we have chosen an interpretative approach which rests on the empirical theory with a typical quality-inductive approach and the case study strategy. Therefore, even though we have used additional data to complete it, they are considered as primary data obtained from the study of ten (1o) cases of individual entrepreneurs and eight (8) other women associations gathering in collective entrepreneur activities. At the end of the analysis we have managed to implement the characteristics of woman entrepreneurship’s and is actors regarding the Senegalese context. In the last part of our analysis, the thesis proposes an empirical and detailed theory, of the woman entrepreneurship process with environmental and personal variables

Full textThis thesis treats a phenomena that we have named societal innovation. Our aim has been to gain new insights relevant to both academics and practitioners, as well as providing us with a set of more elaborate questions. We have chosen a qualitative approach to the subject, but although the research is not statistically generalizable we believe that the findings are analytically generalizable. The research is based on six in-depth case studies of societal innovations, and the organisations behind these. It is also based on certain assumptions, one being that we live in a postmodern world. The position we take is that the characteristics of the world as described by postmodern sociologists, philosophers and marketing scholars present meaningful insights, corresponding well to our own observaitions. We have shown that there is a category of innovations which brings forward a societal dimension. We have also seen that there is a special category of innovators that combine qualities normally associated with both business administrators and artists. The organizations behind the studied innovations have all been flexible and flat, with strong internal linkages and distributed functions. In many ways the management practices use resembles post-taylorian or japanese inspired management methods. Societal innovations seem to spring from a both utilitarian and non- utilitarian approach, combining facilitators (neo-marketing), with creators (artist-entrepreneurs), or if preferred, a combination of utilitarian and non-utilitarian thinking. This combination of utilitarian and non-utilitarian thinking goes beyond sectors where the expression of personality is commonplace. The successful firm of today is the one that manages to re-enchant society beyond the rational satisfaction of demand, which has prevailed throughout the 20th century

Full textEntrepreneurship is a wealth-creating dynamic process (employment, innovations) which strongly depends upon milieu (local and territorial) and into which the entrepreneur emerges. The economists highlight two kinds of analysis for observe "entrepreneur". For the firsts, the entrepreneur is the economic dynamic engine. For the others, the entrepreneur is a social construction of capitalism. The entrepreneur takes its investements opportunities from his environment which is constructed by the initiatives of other entrepreneurs, the State, consumers, employees. In an industrial economy under restructuration, where the large enterprise (and the large factory) dominates social activities and norms, what is the place of small business and of the entrepreneur ? what are the good factors which may boost entrepreneurship ? The small business is indissociable to the profile of his creator, and the creator appears and asserts himself in the local economic milieu. Reviewing the case of Dunkirk, we demonstrate that economic dynamic is spurred by the political willingness. Then the density of relations between local economic actors form a special area of entrepreneurship

Full textThe thesis questions the different elements which allows the practice and use og Information and Communication Technologies in educational teaching in secondary schools. From a cross analysis between different fields within the francophone space and by leaning on the educational practices, the rechearcher analyses the comparing elements in the ICT sector in education between the following countries : Vietnam, Moldavia, Burkina-Faso and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A cross analysis allows the comparasion between the different inflencing conditions in the practices and use of the ICTs within the environment composing the diversity of the institutional Francophonie. The research has taken place during a doctorac theses at the Laboratoire Education et Apprentissage (ea 4071) at the Pris René Descartes university and presents the results of four case studies done between 2010 and 2013 with students (n=3236) and teachers (n=467) in target countries within members of the Organisation international de la Francophonie (OIF). The researcher analyze the data that has been collected related to the conditions of access, practises and the use of digital technologies in the secondary school level. The research has be done by questionnaires in order to collect the quantitative data. The researcher has also used focalized group interviews in order to collect quanlitativ data. The compared approach, the territoriality of the phenomenon of the use of digital technology as a support in an educational learning environment. In Moldavia and i Vietnam, the research has paid special attention to the analysis ot het use of ICT as a support in teaching and learning French as a second language, français langue étrangère (FLE). The research fiel is situated within the Francohpone space, with all its diversity and plurality. We analyse the evolution and seek to explain the reasons for the delays of certain countries as well as numerous obstacles to ICT access. We seek to reveal the use of ICT in austere contexts. The results reveal that the CTI appropriation process by French teachers is a growing process in Vietnam and Moldavia. Contrasting practices are standing out when crossing the survey results. The analysys of access to IT tools and the integration in teaching reveals that the user is significantly more sustained by teachers in eastern Europe (Moldavia) and Asia (Vietnam) as to practices on the African continent (specificity Burkina-Faso and the Democratic Republic of Congo). Finally, a study has been done within the public digital space as Multimedia center named : Maisons des savoirs de la Francophonie

Thesis, Brest, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012BRES0060/document.
Full textFar from the romantic image of the artist which lacks all sense of reality, today there ismuch discussion about the term artist being frequently linked to that of entrepreneur in allsectors of the arts to reflect the transformation in artistic activities. As major players in thecreative economy, artists are provoking a growing interest among observers and researchers. At the same time, the policy of developing entrepreneurship as a specific discipline in higher education - particularly in non-business studies – constitutes a major challenge to stimulate Western economies. In order to make a contribution to the discussion, we studied and analyzed the development of young artists’ entrepreneurial intentions and the social representations underlying that development. We conducted thirty-one interviews with students in arts schools in Brittany. The findings show a significant link between the artistic identity of the students and their entrepreneurial intent. They also enable us to identify the specificities of that intent. Lastly, the findings show that the building of a strong artistic identity and the construction of an entrepreneurial intent jointly mature and reinforce each other
Gazzah, Faten. "Entrepreneurship and regional development : spatial analysis." Thesis, Normandie, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017NORMC025.
Full textThis thesis proposes to put into perspective the impact of the entrepreneurial environment, in order to explain the reasons for the spatial variation of the level of regional development for the regions of the European Union and those of the Tunisian regions. This regional inequality is accompanied by non-stationary spatial modalized relationships in space, implying that certain variables can have a positive effect in some regions, while negative effects are observable in other regions. To address the issue of regional inequalities in an entrepreneurial contribution in a context space, three chapters, in the form of articles, have been developed. The first chapter sheds light on the spatial heterogeneity of the impact of the environment on the development of the European Union Regions. The second focuses on the description of spatial distributions global and local index to regional development in Tunisia, as well as the impact of the change in the effect of the micro-enterprise on the index of development of the Tunisian regions (delegations). The last chapter explains the factors fostering an entrepreneurial environment to attract micro-enterprises in the (delegations) Tunisian regions primarily disadvantaged but are in a phase of development .Based on a sample composed of 246 regions of the European Union, the results of the first chapter announced that the entrepreneurial environment helps explain inequalities in development between the regions. This result reveals that promote entrepreneurship of opportunity in the face of the necessity entrepreneurship in the regions the least developed in the European Union is an obligation, particularly in countries of Central Europe and Eastern. The second chapter is aimed to consider the effect of the micro-enterprise on the development index of 262 Tunisian regions using an exploratory analysis of Geo-referenced data. The result shows, on the basis of a global spatial model, that the presence of the micro-enterprise or business in a region impacted positively the level of regional development and those of the neighboring regions. Conversely, for a local spatial model, we see, on the one hand that the impact of micro-enterprise weakens while approaching coastal areas (developed), and on the other hand the impact of the micro-enterprise is more important in the regions with low level of development compared to those with a favorable development. The results of the third chapter claim that entrepreneurship by necessity, a discouraging social context, corruption, low reliability of support structures and the imbalance between the academic training and supply of skilled jobs on the market are the major factors slowing down the survival of the micro-enterprise in under developed regions

Full textOur research focuses on the evaluation of the "organizational satisficing" of social purpose business (EVS). For this, we mobilize a qualitative methodology centered on two embedded case studies, including one in longitunale way. "Sos Maintien à Domicile" and "Eveil" are both two associative enterprises in the institutional medico-social care field. We highlight three levels of results. First, we evaluate, through the cognitive maps, the system of shared representations to assess the sense of organizational effectiveness. Then, through the global productivity surplus accounts, we measure the economic and social performance. The convergence of the first two levels of results allows to rule on the positive or negative state of organizational satisficing. Finally, the analysis of cases and confrontation with the conceptual model and the literature review, allows us to identify key variables with the EVS control system, represented by the managerial authority, can be used in various project control modes

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to further the understanding of the entrepreneurial process, from opportunity recognition to the development of start-ups. Various literatures are used, such as those of entrepreneurship, innovation studies and theories of organisations. The theoretical framework also introduces the concept of entrepreneurial agency. This framework is tested through thirteen case studies of biotech start-ups. The results are presented in three analytical chapters. The first develops the impact of involving financiers on entrepreneurial agency and firm evolution. The second aims at observing the effects of a change of leadership throughout the entrepreneurial activity, and links the background of the founder with the strategy of the firm. The final chapter attempts to understand the steps that a research project goes through when transitioning from the incubating organisation to a newly created enterprise
