Abstract:
At the present stage, considerable attention is paid to the problems of harming the environment, which arises as a result of uncontrolled or unreasonably burdensome tourism and recreational activities for natural landscapes. The article highlights certain ecological aspects of the development of the tourism and recreation sphere. It is determined what impact the growth of mass tourism has on the natural and recreational potential and the natural environment. As you know, the policy of intensifying the use of tourist-recreation potential leads to an increase in the load on the ecosystem. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to form a policy and develop a strategy for the development of tourism not separately, but as an integral part of a unified regional policy based on the principles of sustainable ecologic economic development. An important factor in the development of tourism is maintaining a balance between ecological, economic and social components. First of all, environmental factors of development should be taken into account: optimal anthropogenic load on the natural resources of the territory, diversification of types of tourism: the formation of ecolo-gically oriented directions, which will make it possible to achieve a balanced develop-ment of tourism. The policy of the development of the tourist and recreational sphere, taking into account the environmental impact, is becoming more and more urgent and relevant. The protection and transformation of recreational areas includes the determination of load standards for natural complexes, the allocation of green zones and resort forests, the protection of recreational lands, forest management measures, the protection of underground water and mineral resources and sources, and the preservation of the purity of the air basin. The rapid development of tourist and recreational activities is reflected in the massive, sharp increase in the number of tourists, includingmotorists. Issues of protection of natural resources should be resolved long before the start of exploitation of the recreational area, i.e. at the design stage. Keywords:ecological aspects, tourist and recreational activities, impact and consequences, balance.

Abstract:
In order to be able to recommend the most compatible land-uses for adoption in a multiple land-use system, in terms of the resultant impacts on soils and vegetation in mature ecosystems, the impact of logging operations and recreation in the Caspian region of Iran was studied. Four forest communities were selected and, with an analytical approach, the bulk density, percentage of plant cover, number of individual plants, plant height, and the number of plant species encountered, in 36 sample plots (20 × 1 m) located on various slopes and aspects, and used for logging or recreation at different intensities (unused, transitional, used), were recorded. The effectiveness of data, in terms of demonstrating the statistically significant differences, was tested by the method described in Conquest (1983). T-statistics for two means were used to discern statistical differences. The results of the study indicate that the effect of logging is greater than that of recreation on soil bulk density, whereas the effect of recreation is greater on plants than that of logging. Aspect has no effect on the resultant impact, but steep slopes are more susceptible than gentle ones. With increases in altitude, the degree of impact decreases. Ecosystems having loamy clay soils and a greater proportion of monocotyledonous than dicotyledonous species, located on gentle slopes at the higher altitudes investigated, tend to resist the impacts of both logging and recreation best.

Abstract:
Recreational activities on, in, and along freshwaters (e.g., boating, bathing, angling) positively contribute to human well-being but can also concurrently stress aquatic ecosystems. While outdoor recreation, aquatic ecosystems, and human well-being form coupled social-ecological systems, inherent fluxes and interactions between these have rarely been properly quantified. This paper synthesizes information on links between water-based recreational activities, effects on freshwater ecosystems integrity and recreational quality, and proposes a novel framework for assessment and integrated management. This framework is based on understanding relationships between recreational quality, demand and use, and recreational use-induced impacts on ecosystem state and function, as well as ecological and social carrying capacities. Current management approaches of freshwater ecosystems addressing economic, environmental, or recreational aspects are poorly linked and harmonized, and are further constrained by inadequate information on the dynamics and densities of recreational uses. Novel assessment and monitoring methods are needed to capture the short-term peak dynamics of water-based recreational uses, and we argue social media could play an increasingly important role here. An integrative recreation ecology management concept combined with peak usage information has great potential to form the basis for next-generation management approaches of freshwater and other ecosystems.

Abstract:
The wellness and recreation situation in its complexity does not significantly differ from other socio-economic problems of urban agglomerations in Ukraine and needs to be addressed in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in improving public well-being and health. The purpose of this article is to identify the relationship between health improvement, recreation and tourism, displayed in the management structure of the urban agglomeration, and the social, environmental and economic state of wellness and recreation. The relationship is determined by the index method/geometric mean of relevant relative indices (inclusion, experience economy, health improvement with rest, recovery function of leisure, wellness and recreation ecology) with the 2009–2018 dynamics by regions with the largest urban agglomerations of Ukraine. The analysis of management structures of the Dnipro, Kyiv, Odesa and Kharkiv executive bodies reveals special aspects in reflecting the wellness and recreation functions, including tourism and urban ecology. Based on the comparison of rating analyses, it is justified whether wellness and recreation reflected in the structure of urban agglomeration management meets its social, environmental and economic health. Comparison results for the relative indices of wellness and recreation in urban agglomerations and regions of Ukraine by economic (income level, directing additional funds for recreation), social (health, no impact of diseases on performance) or environmental (air pollution per person) factors, as well as altogether (comparison of integral indicators), are the basis for smoothing the situation with wellness and recreation in the country according to the inclusive sustainable development principle. The article considers geoecological risks on tourist and recreational areas. The focus is on the relationship fields of bioactive range (electric, magnetic, thermal, radiation, vibration, sound, and infrasound) with the grid of tectonic fault displacements and their influence on the psyche and health of tourists, servicing staff as well as on the state of buildings and structures of tourist-recreational complexes. The conclusion is made about the constant and qualitative carrying out of geoecological monitoring of the territory on which is carried out or planned to implement the tourist product and recreational activities. Discusses problems of the evaluation of geoecological risks, and to develop new and optimize existing strategies manage this risk and geoecological safety in the tourist and recreational activities. We analyze the main factors of environmental influence on tourist-recreational objects and describe the complex of problems connected with geoecological safety of tourist-recreational territories. In the light of the mentioned problems of geoecological safety authors greatest attention ispaidto natural hazards of geological origin, i.e. exogenous geological processes. Classification of the main exogenous geological processes is given. Specific examples of their appearance on tourist and recreational areas are discussed. When considering exogenous processes from the point of view of their possible danger to the objects of recreation and tourism, emphasize their connection with modern earth´s surface — the main component of the environment. The concept and examples «slow» disasters are given. Questions of quantitative evaluation of geoecological risks are discussed.

Abstract:
Abstract Participatory budgets are an increasingly common form of co-decision of residents about the quality of life and development directions of urban space. In Poland, participatory budgets have been realized for a decade, and projects submitted to these budgets respond to needs such as e.g. leisure infrastructure, environmental conditions, recreation, health, and education. The study aims to analyze the phenomenon of civic participation and the use of participatory budgets as a tool of co-governance in the context of environmental issues and urban development. A desk research analysis of national and foreign literature data was performed, and the existing statistical data on participatory budgets in Poland were analyzed. In addition, the websites of selected cities in Poland were analyzed in the context of implemented projects and citizen’s activity within the framework of participatory budgets. The results indicate that the initial enthusiasm of the citizen’s implementation has decreased, but the COVID-19 pandemic has aroused renewed interest in the topic. The study’s implication is recommendations, e.g.: creating a civic budget database featuring uniform categories or creating Green Civic Budgets in every city.

Abstract:
Nature-based recreation (NBR) is an important cultural ecosystem service providing human well-being from natural environments. As the most concentrated and high-quality wilderness in China, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP) has unique advantages for NBR. In this study, we designed an integrated nature-based recreation potential index (INRPI) based on four aspects: nature-based recreation resources, landscape attractiveness, recreation comfort and opportunity, and recreation reception ability. A combination of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and entropy evaluation method was adopted to assess the NBR potential in the QTP from 2000 to 2020. The research shows that: (i) The INRPI for the QTP decreases gradually from southeast to northwest and increases slightly from 2000 to 2020. (ii) The INRPI displays a pronounced difference on either side of the Qilian-Gyirong line. The areas with very high and high potentials mainly distributed in the southeast of the line, while areas with very low and low potentials distributed in the northwest. (iii) The construction of protected areas effectively improves NBR potential. Areas of INRPI at diverse levels within protected areas obviously increased in 2020. (iv) Increasing altitude has a notable effect on INRPI, and 3000 m is a critical dividing line for the NBR in the QTP. These findings can contribute to decision-makers in guiding rational use and spatial planning of natural land and promoting sustainable recreational development.

Abstract:
Vegetation trampling that arises from off-trail excursions by people walking for recreation can negatively impact the structure of understory plants in natural spaces that are an essential element of urban green infrastructure in a modern city. In addition to reducing the esthetic quality and environmental values of urban remnant and replanted native vegetation, such trampling reduces the habitat that supports wildlife populations within the urban fabric. This case study draws upon several disparate methods for measuring vegetation structure and trampling impacts to produce a hybrid method that community-based citizen scientists (and land managers and other researchers) could use to simply, rapidly, and reproducibly monitor how trampling associated with urban recreation trails impacts the structure of understory vegetation. Applying the novel hybrid method provided evidence that trampling had reduced the vegetation structure adjacent to a recreational walking trail in an urban woodland remnant in Perth, Western Australia. The hybrid method also detected ecological variability at the local ecosystem-scale at a second similar woodland remnant in Perth. The hybrid sampling method utilized in this case study provides an effective, efficient, and reproducible data collection method that can be applied to recreation ecology research into aspects of trampling associated with trail infrastructure.

This literature review shows that there is no up-to-date common approach to assess the recreational potential of forests. The aim of the study is to present methodological and practical aspects of the evaluation of forests in urban environments for recreational purposes based on the example of urban forests in Poznań (Poland). In this research, the following evaluation criteria were selected: types of forest habitats, ages of dominant species, stand composition, stocking index, the share of undergrowth, soil cover, canopy closure, and surface water. All these criteria are presented in the forest management plan (FMP). We prove that the majority of stands within the study area (81.86%) have medium potential for recreational purposes. Moreover, regarding recreation services, documents existing within the study area are not specified enough. The undoubted advantages of the proposed method are a forestry perspective on the problem, a uniform dataset included in FMPs, data availability, and the possibility of comparing data from different areas.

Abstract:
This article reveals the essence of the importance of involving modern youth in recreational activities, aspects of the formation of physical recreation in Ukraine, the concepts, forms, means and methods of physical recreation are characterized; features of use of motor activity within the limits of physical recreation are specified. Socio-economic changes in Ukraine have affected the health of the population. In addition to positive changes, there are negative phenomena in people's lives, in particular a decrease in life expectancy. Every year the number of students enrolled in special medical groups increases. Factors that negatively affect health should include the deterioration of socio-economic indicators, sanitary-epidemiological and environmental situation in our country, psycho-emotional overload, etc. Probably one of the main reasons for the deterioration of the health situation is the lack of financial and material support from the state to the recreational and health sphere, which leads to a certain physical inactivity. Most young people have a low level of physical activity and low interest in participating in recreational activities and fitness programs. The main reasons that prevent young people from engaging in physical activity are: lack of time, lack of interesting forms, financial problems, no friends for joint exercise, no knowledge for independent training, lack of desire, no sportswear, lack of reasoning for exercise. Most young people have severe hypokinesia, despite daily physical activity. Thus, it can be argued that in Ukraine, recreational and health activities have not become widespread and popular. Intensification of work in the direction of recreational and health activities of young people is extremely important, because the health of Ukrainians is getting worse, and the number of people involved in regular exercise and physical activity is getting smaller and smaller every year. Today, successful mastering of education is possible only with a sufficiently high level of health, and therefore taking into account the peculiarities of lifestyle, namely physical activity and a positive attitude to physical activity, is an important element of physical education for young people.

Abstract:
Walking is important for improving physical activity and public health. The pedestrian walkways called Walkways for Health in Shiraz, Iran, present a high standard of aesthetic and design features which attract many people for the purpose of recreation. In addition, a significant percentage of Iranians suffer from mental disorders. The contribution of aesthetic and design features toward walking for recreation as well as mental health has been demonstrated in previous studies, which have focused on either one or the other of these aspects. This interdisciplinary research study aims to evaluate both of these aspects simultaneously. A quantitative approach including a survey questionnaire and multiple regression analysis was used to examine the objectives. The contributions of walking attitudes and several perceived environmental attributes to the attractiveness for walking and to general/mental health were determined, which suggested the need for new arrangements of the visual sequences and social setting along these walkways. In addition, the observation that younger people suffer are more affected by mental health disorders was one of the most challenging findings. The policy makers of this city could apply the findings of this study to these pedestrian walkways in order to improve the attractiveness for walking as well as general and mental health.

The REFRESH Study (Recreation Environment and Food Research: Experiences from Hockey) aimed to explore, from the perspectives of adolescent ice hockey players and parents, broad social and physical environmental influences on adolescent food behaviours associated with hockey participation.DesignPlayers used photovoice to describe their food experiences in relation to ice hockey. The approach included photos, individual interviews and focus groups. Exemplar photographs were exhibited for stakeholders, including five parents who were interviewed. Interview and focus group transcripts were thematically analysed.SettingRecreational ice hockey environment, Ontario, Canada, 2015–16.SubjectsIce hockey players (n24) aged 11–15 years recruited from five leagues.ResultsDominant influences among players included: their perceived importance of nutrients (e.g. protein) or foods (e.g. chocolate milk) for performance and recovery; marketing and branding (e.g. the pro-hockey aura of Tim Horton’s®, Canada’s largest quick-service restaurant); social aspects of tournaments and team meals; and moral values around ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ food choices. Both players and parents perceived recreational facility food options as unhealthy and identified that travel and time constraints contributed to less healthy choices.ConclusionsResults indicate recreation facilities are only one of a range of environments that influence eating behaviours of adolescent ice hockey players. Players’ susceptibility to advertising/brand promotion and the value of healthy food choices for performance are findings that can inform policy and interventions to support healthy environments and behaviours.

Abstract:
Trails are significant features in landscapes, and many ancient pathways have developed into routes of great importance for recreation and tourism in contemporary societies. Nevertheless, international research on recreational trails has hitherto mainly focused on managerial and environmental aspects of trails and less on trails from a social science perspective, such as conflict management. This study explores the role of recreational trails as a potential tool for managing conflicts in a multifunctional landscape. The findings originate from a case study of the southern Jämtland mountain region in Sweden, an area where land-use conflicts exist and where tourism is a major concern. The study examines the recreational trail as an applied example where actors in the mountain landscape “negotiate” and collaborate. Through the recreational trail, dialogue and discussions are made possible among stakeholders. Findings show that trails can function as facilitators for communication and can thus enhance the possibilities of building trust and promoting collaboration between actors. This research contributes to the existing literature on handling multiple land-use interests and adds to previous knowledge by taking on a rather new approach, where the recreational trail becomes a facilitator for communication.

Abstract:
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected local governments involved in sports and recreation in designated areas. The unprecedented scale of the spread of the disease has led to increased research in the area of the disease, considering various correlations. However, little has been written about the impact of the pandemic on local government spending on recreation and sports services in Poland. Objective: The purpose of the article is to assess the level of local government involvement in the implementation of sports and recreation in Poland compared to other European Union countries, as well as changes in this level in connection with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in the opinion of respondents. Methodology: In the study, the data regarding expenditures of local government units on recreational and sporting services collected in the Statistical Office of the European Union (EURO-STAT) for 2015–2020 were used. The survey portion was conducted among 1600 respondents who provided answers on a 5-item scale that addressed local government involvement in promoting physical activity among residents during COVID-19. Results and conclusion: Local government spending on recreational and sporting services in Poland between 2015 and 2019 increased by about 38%, from EUR 1524.7 million in 2015 to EUR 2103.5 million in 2019. This spending in 2019 was about 40% higher than the average for European Union countries. In contrast, in 2020 it amounted to more than EUR 1886 million and was more than 10% lower compared to the previous year (2019)—the pre-pandemic period. Despite the obstacles caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and budgetary constraints, cities in Poland took several measures in 2020 to maintain the current pace of development and strived to maintain the status of modern, green, and open, betting on balanced development also in aspects related to sports or culture. It was shown that the opinion of respondents mostly coincided with the existing financial state—in voivodeships where there had been a decrease in spending related to sports and recreation compared to the pre-pandemic period, residents are worse at assessing the activities of local governments related to promoting physical activity.

Abstract:
The value of aquatic systems for biodiversity, agriculture, pastoralism and mining is widely recognised, whereas their significance for tourism and recreation is often poorly acknowledged. We surveyed protected-area managers, local governments and tour operators (river and general) to determine how aquatic systems were used in inland Australia for tourism and recreation and the perceived impacts of these uses. Inland waterbodies were reported by all respondent groups to be highly significant foci for visitors. Natural features were rated as more important to visitors than infrastructure by protected-area managers and river-tour operators, whereas all respondent groups identified water clarity, water quality and accessibility to water as important aspects of visitor appeal. Although >75% of respondents nominated visitors as being environmentally aware, visitors were reported to have a range of negative effects on the ecological condition of inland waterbodies, especially on water quality, and to also increase erosion and the loss of fringing vegetation. Managing the recreational use of inland waterbodies will become increasingly important as demand from all sectors intensifies and climate-change impacts become more severe. Management must take into account variations in perceptions by different stakeholder groups and the paradox of inappropriate visitor behaviour despite visitors’ apparent environmental awareness.

Abstract:
AbstractCultural ecosystem services (CES) are mainly intangible benefits, obtained by aesthetical and other experiences, recreation, learning and spiritual enrichment, or by the ability to distinguish values. In other words, what makes a service ‘cultural’ is its ‘non-economical’ character. CES are ecosystem services with direct impact on the quality of life in urban systems, and they are directly appreciated by inhabitants and visitors of these urban systems (Plieningeret al., 2013; Zulian et al., 2018). In order to satisfy the needs and expectations of the wider urban community, a ‘broader portfolio of areas’ is needed, which can meet the expectations of different users, from children to older adults. The new methodological approach tested on three model areas in the city of Nitra in the housing estate Chrenová was used to establish the level of benefits provided by existing vegetation areas in urban environment in terms of recreation as a CES. Following data were collected: the quality of vegetation, spatial design, management of vegetation elements, selected environmental aspects, available amenities and architectural elements needed for recreation. In our article, we present the assessment of vegetation in relation to the provision of recreation as a CES. Our results show that the assessed areas can be classified in the category of average to low provision of benefits related to recreation. Vegetation on area P1 is in good condition, mainly the quality of trees and shrubs was assessed as very good (4). Other areas (P2 and P3) assessed provide only low levels of benefits derived from recreation as one of the CES. This was caused by some vegetation deficiencies (mainly related to horticultural and compositional aspects). Methodological approach can be used for different vegetation areas in urban environment and after suitable modifications (e.g. adding other components for assessment) also for different cultural ecosystems services. The results can be used in landscape planning documents or in other types of documents dealing with the quality of vegetation in urban environment.

The subject of the study is to evaluate the Niğde Akkaya Dam with SWOT analysis and to make recommendations in terms of recreational use. The aim of the study is to identify the strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities of the Akkaya dam and to determine its goals and strategies in terms of recreation. In line with this purpose, the socio-economic, cultural and natural features, landscape potential of the area were evaluated using the SWOT, the opportunities that the positive and negative aspects of the area, were presented, and the possible or existing threats were determined. At the same time, the current recreation potential of the dam was determined, and suggestions were developed in line with the data in order to offer alternatives that can be evaluated in terms of sustainable use of the areas. It was determined that pollution occurs in the dam water due to environmental wastes, as a result of this pollution, harmful creatures multiply and bad smells are formed. However, it is accepted that the dam is home to a large number of migratory birds, that it has not lost its naturalness, and that most of the dam is in the university campus. Threats to the dam are; low water level, fishing, duck hunting etc. damage to ecological life due to activities, smell gradually increased. Their opportunities are determined as providing a suitable environment for bird watching, having a suitable infrastructure for ecological research, and being suitable for recreational activities for water. At the end of the study, suggestions were developed in terms of suitability of Akkaya Dam for recreational activities.

Abstract:
Strong land-use pressure challenges sustainable development and calls for landscape approaches that balance economic, ecological, and socio-cultural aspects and interests. In the boreal, sub-alpine, and alpine regions in Sweden, encompassing 32 million ha, many and different land-use interests overlap, which causes risks for conflict, but potentially also suggests integration and synergy opportunities. Based on geographic information system (GIS) analyses of geographically delineated national interests regulated in the Swedish Environmental Code, including, amongst others, Natura 2000, contiguous mountains, recreation, reindeer husbandry, and wind power, and based on forestry as a dominating land use, we found extensive overlap among similar but also between dissimilar types of interest. In some mountain municipalities, our results show that the designated national interest area is four times as large as the available terrestrial area. Moreover, the overlap is much higher in the alpine than in the boreal biome, and there is increasing designation for nature conservation and a decreasing designation for national interests for culture, recreation, and tourism from south to north. We interpret the results with reference to multiple-use needs and opportunities for landscape approaches to sustainable planning. Departing from biodiversity conservation values, we also discuss opportunities to focus planning strategies on assessing synergy, integration, and conflict based on nature-based and place-based land-use characteristics.

Abstract:
Purpose: To analyze the perception of teachers about the functionality and school participation of children with cerebral palsy (CP). Methods: Descriptive, exploratory, observational study with a mixed design of quantitative and qualitative approach, carried out with 14 teachers, who were interviewed in a questionnaire model, based on the International Classification of Functionality, Disability and Health (ICF). The reports were transcribed and quantified based on the domains and codes of the second level of the ICF, for better analysis. Results: The reports pointed out aspects that facilitate the participatory process of children through the attitudes of the people who make up the school support network. However, the challenges to school inclusion were highlighted, related to issues of recreation, leisure and mobility, restricting participation and environmental barriers, as for services, systems and policies related to construction, architecture, health, and education. Conclusion: Such aspects reinforce the importance of interventions focused on the individuality of the child, taking into account the entire context in which he lives, and not just the intervention limiting the modification of the affected body structures and function. Thus, the teachers interviewed focused on participation in mobility and recreation activities linked to interdisciplinary work, qualification of education professionals, and readjustments in school infrastructure as challenges for greater participation of children with CP.

Abstract:
Obesity is the result of people consistently consuming more calories than they expend. A complex interaction of social and environmental conditions affects both energy consumption and physical activity levels. These conditions include, but are not limited to the following factors: the availability of affordable and healthy food; price disparities between healthy and less healthy foods; access to or perceived safety of recreation facilities; and the conduciveness of the physical environment to active modes of transportation, such as walking and biking. As outlined in the “Assessing Laws and Legal Authorities for Obesity Prevention and Control” paper in this supplement issue, laws and government policies in the United States influence nearly all of these social and environmental factors.

Topicality. The current state of socio-economic development demonstrates awareness of the need harmonious solving economic and environmental issues that arise as a result of recreational nature-use management; necessitates the search for scientific approaches to the classification of natural recreational resources, as well as the transformation and diversification of the recreational and tourist sphere functioning. Aim and tasks. Aim: deepening and analysis of scientific approaches to the classification of natural recreational resources in the context of rational nature use and the recreational and tourist activities development. Tasks: to classify natural recreational resources on the grounds of exhaustibility, renewability, reproduction, setting restrictions on forms and property rights and their possible diversification in recreational and tourist activities. Research results. The state of socio-economic and ecological interaction, the increase of society's needs in recreational resources and facilities cause the need for targeted use of natural resource capital to meet the needs of the population - in recreational nature-use management. Three functions of recreational nature-use management (social, economic and nature protection) are defined, their maintenance is opened. The distribution of environmental elements on natural resources and natural conditions, which is quite conditional, has been studied. According to the review and analysis of classification criteria and characteristics, approaches to classification are systematized, namely: physical-geographical aspect, economic effect, economic-legal, environmental and social factors. The classification of natural recreational resources is given in context of ownership relations and economic interests between the subjects of recreational and tourist sphere and from the possible diversification side of natural recreational resources use. Conclusion. Thus, since the classification of natural recreational resources and conditions allows to identify patterns of different resources combination, determine the economic benefits of their use, opportunities for alternative, including recreational, use, as well as draw conclusions about the rational use, conservation and prospects of diversification, prospects for territory development priorities and communities located on them.

The article discusses the problems of urban development of the contaminated territories of Saratov aimed at improving this territory. Particular attention is paid to the substantiation and necessity of using in sociological studies of a modern city such a concept as a socio-territorial community, which is interpreted as a form of social life, where a certain set of individuals has the same type of relationship to a specific territory. Glebutchev ravine was chosen as a contagious model polygon. Throughout almost the entire history of the city, the contaminated areas have been a zone of uncomfortable living attracting the poorest segments of the city’s residents. Urban development of these territories is associated with a number of social and environmental problems, for example, with the need for mass resettlement, demolition of illegal buildings, settlement of land disputes, etc. In the course of analyzing the materials of the author’s sociological survey of macrophotography, the bulk of the residents (65%) note the need of improving the ravine. At the same time, 30% of respondents want to improve living conditions by building a shopping and entertainment center, 45% want to see only pedestrian and transport accessibility and 35% believe that the creation of parks and recreation areas is necessary.

The article presents the results of research on the features and popularity of theme parks in the world as destinations for recreational recreation. The practical experience of the functioning of the most visited world theme parks as an example of effective development and functioning of tourist infrastructure is generalized. The article will be useful for students, teachers and researchers studying the field of hospitality and tourism. The study highlights data on the distribution and popularity of theme parks in the world. Based on statistics, charts of theme parks in the world are formed, which show the growing trend in the number of visitors to one of the largest popular theme parks Disneyland. They analyzed statistics will allow to better calculate the future pace of development of the popularity of theme parks. The structure of theme parks is studied, as well as approaches to providing visitors with the highest level of service are considered. The structure of the California theme park and the trend of increasing attendance over the last ten years are analyzed in detail. New approaches to the promotion of theme parks are considered, namely their use as educational platforms for classes such as physics and natural sciences. The topic of introduction of innovative recreational products in the Ukrainian tourist infrastructure is extremely important both for raising the economic level, because it will bring significant profits and for the promotion of our country among European tourists. The creation of a theme park in Ukraine will increase the country’s tourist popularity in the tourism market, help increase the flow of tourists and improve the quality of recreation. Parks of this level take into account a wide range of sociocultural aspects and needs of vacationers, as well as create all the conditions for a useful holiday with family and friends. Due to the high level of organization of the territory and the work of qualified personnel, the theme park can be a profitable institution that will provide, in addition to leisure, also new jobs and reduce the level of labor migration. Green infrastructure, such as green roofs/walls, plays a key role in addressing urban problems. Despite the well-established sustainable mentality, aspects such as aesthetics, recreation, and welfare are still the main drivers for undertaking such investments. Several studies have focused on proving the benefits of green infrastructure, namely, thermal insulation, air quality, and others. However, significant soft benefits have not yet been properly addressed. It is, therefore, important to understand how much citizens are willing to invest in those mitigating measures and list the aspects that influence that value. This study suggests a methodology based on stated preferences to evaluate the willingness-to-pay of owner/tenants for green roofs/walls in residential buildings and determine the influence of multiple factors. Results show that consumers reveal higher willingness-to-pay for accessible green roofs. Knowledge of benefits and the accessibility of green roofs have a great impact on the willingness-to-pay. Recreation benefit is at the forefront of individuals’ concerns; even more than aesthetics.

Abstract:
Attention to environmental DNA (eDNA) was motivated by problem of undesirable gene transfer possibility from genetically modified plants to wild bacteria and other organisms. First studies have already examined persistence of DNA from these plants in soil, and also in the samples of nearby groundwater and river for a few kilometers from the place of cultivating. In soil it persists long time enough – from a few days to a few years, and in water – from a few hours to a few days. eDNA excreted from different sources – frozen ice cores, sediments of lakes, soil, caves, water of lakes, rivers and oceans, contains genetic information about biodiversity of present and ancient organisms. Researches revealed an important fact: data of eDNA and other sources, for example pollen, macrofossils, living animals and plants, complement each other, showing more reliable information about the variety of species, than used separately. Therefore the analysis eDNA needs to be not of considered alternative method of ecological researches, but an additional to traditional methods. In the process of study of eDNA it is necessary to take into account five aspects at least: its origin, physical state, conversion, transport and technical challenges. The origin of eDNA remains studied not enough. From a few publications it is known that eDNA comes in different composition excretions, leaves, hair, peeling etc., or as a result of released plasmids and chromosomal DNA from living prokaryotes. There are also possible secondary sources of eDNA – dead bodies and excretions of predators, scavengers, detritivores and coprovores. On the amount of the genetic material, released by organisms in an environment, various ontogenetic, trophic and other factors can have considerably influence. eDNA can be presented in both intracellular and extracellular forms.. Over time intracellular eDNA releases outside by influence of different ecological factors – activity of microorganisms, presence of extracellular enzymes, mechanical destruction etc. In further extracellular eDNA can break in corpuscles of different sizes – mainly within the limits of 1–10 μm. It can be free, adsorbed by other substances or dissolved. At certain conditions the period of eDNA persistence can be very great – from a few hours (in water) to hundred thousands of years (in frozen ice cores). Ancient eDNA is very fragmented and chemically changed by various physical, chemical and biological factors of environment. Substantive eDNA amount is taken up by bacteria and protozoa. Here it quickly metabolizes, but some its fragments can be integrated in a local genome. eDNA is able to be transported to great distance (from a few meters to 10 kilometers) that can appreciably influence on the results of its research. Also the laboratory experiment has certain problems – design (equipment, sequence of operations and condition of it realization), realization of experiment, authenticity of it will depend on quality of equipment and reagents, competence and honesty of scientific personnel etc.), ability of skilled researcher to give interpretation of results. Data that given in our review testifies that the active study of eDNA only began, and further intensive efforts of environmentalists and geneticists are needed in direction of it research. The results of such researches will allow to create the effective methods of scientifically reasonable recreating nature application.

Abstract:
Deste modo, este trabalho visa levantar e discutir aspectos relacionados à importância histórica do uso recreacional das águas ao longo do desenvolvimento da sociedade, haja vista a reconhecida relevância como um dos usos mais nobres das águas e cada vez mais ameaçado pela degradação ambiental.</p><p><strong>Palavras–chave:</strong> Lazer, balneabilidade, riscos à saúde humana.</p><p><strong>Abstract </strong></p><p>Despite the social and economic importance of the recreational use of waters for society, the available spaces for this practice are increasingly scarce due to the reduction of natural environments, especially in urban áreas. Abstract:
This paper presents the stages of cartographic study into vegetation of Baikalian Siberia (the southern part of East Siberia). It highlights the ways toward shaping the principles and methods of the Irkutsk (Siberian) school of mapping vegetation as a component of geosystems, the founder of which was Academician V.B.Sochava. The initial stage in studying vegetation of Baikalian Siberia involved cartographic support of the resolution of ecological problems within national programs of integral development and exploitation of natural resources in the country’s eastern regions. The current stage of cartographic study into vegetation of Baikalian Siberia is determined by changes in the nature management paradigm in circumstances where the market economy is being shaped. This stage is characterized by the transition from general purpose-regional small-scale universal mapping to generation of medium- and large-scale assessment-forecast maps of vegetation for ecological accompaniment of a variety of economic measures, such as development of oil and gas fields in the Prebaikalia, an enhancement and promotion of recreation at Baikal, etc. Presented is the algorithm of geobotanical forecasting as a multistage process of conjugate mapping of vegetation. Using the key areas on the Angara-Lena interfluve and in Northern Priolkhonie as an example, different aspects of anthropogenic and natural stability of vegetation are considered from the perspective of geobotanical forecasting. The economic value of vegetation is determined according to its ecologo-protective and resource potentials. Recommendations are made for nature management optimization on a forecasting-geobotanical basis.

Abstract:
Agrotourism is tourism that utilizes agricultural business as a tourism destination, with the purpose of recreation, increasing knowledge, and building business in agricultural. The purpose of this research is to analyze the investment feasibility of agrotourism. The location of the research was conducted in De Kampoeng Rembang Agrotuorism which is an agrotourism with the main commodity of dragon fruit and combined with edu-tourism. In this research will be compared to the feasibility business of agrotourism without restaurant facilities (scenario I) with agrotourism that adds restaurant facilities (scenario II). Feasibility of non-financial business was analyzed using the market aspects, technical aspects, management aspects, law aspects, social, economic, cultural aspects, and environmental aspects. Whereas feasibility of financial business was analyzed using the investment criteria, that covered NPV, Net B/C, IRR, and Payback Period, and also switching value analysis. The result shows that De Kampoeng Rembang Agrotourism is feasible based on non-financial aspects and financial aspects. The result of investment criteria analysis shows that the business of agrotourism with restaurant facilities have better performance than the business of agrotourism without restaurant facilities. While based on switching value analysis, the result shows that the decreasing in the number of visitors is more sensitive to business feasibility compared to the increasing in the salary of permanent workers on both scenarios

Abstract:
Chernihiv is a large city in the north of Ukraine, which has been the center of socio-cultural and political life of Ukrainians since the times of Kyivan Rus’. Today, it is an industrial and cultural center, an important transport hub. In recent years, positive changes have been observed in the socio-economic development of Chernihiv. The article reveals the main features of urban development. Its tasks and main elements are described. The situation related to the state of air pollution, water resources, including in Chernihiv, was analyzed. The main sources of environmental pollution are described. The problem of solid waste management in the city is considered. Urban noise has been described as a factor in air pollution that adversely affects human health. The effect of insolation within the city is characterized, the consequences and requirements for its consideration in the planning of cities, districts or neighborhoods are indicated. The analysis of the aeration regime of the city territory as a factor influencing the comfort of living in the city is carried out. The role of green plantations is determined, which is an important element of the natural environment and improvement of urban space. Three types of comfort in the city (ecological, social and urban) are described and their main features are pointed out. Our vision of a comfortable city, which should be compact, convenient and polycentric, to provide equal access to benefits to different segments of society, is proposed. The industrial complex and the reasons for the decline in the pace and volume of industrial production in some previously leading industries are described. The main enterprises of Chernihiv that implement modern technological solutions are identified. The transport complex of the city and tendencies of its further development are considered. An analysis of health, education, culture and recreation facilities, as well as the situation in the social sphere of Chernihiv. An analysis of a sociological survey among the city’s residents on the improvement problems which concern residents the most has been carried out. This study showed that the most pressing issues for citizens are garbage removal and household waste management, the problem of heat supply and public transport. An analysis of respondents’ responses revealed that they support positive trends in the creation of new sports and children’s playgrounds, but want these facilities to be within walking distance of their place of residence. Most citizens are satisfied with the work of the city authorities to address the issues of improvement and comfort of Chernihiv, hoping for further positive changes. The paper identifies the priority areas of development of Chernihiv for the coming years. Among them: improving the living standards of the population, improving the environment, further economic growth, increasing employment in the city, updating and creating new quality infrastructure, supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

Abstract:
This paper presents a quantitative methodology and two empirical case studies in Japan on modeling household solid waste (HSW) generation based on individual consumption expenditure (ICE) and local waste policy effects by using the coupled estimation model systems. Results indicate that ICE on food, miscellaneous commodities and services, as well as education, cultural, and recreation services are mainly associated with the changes of HSW generation and its components in Okayama and Otsu from 1980 to 2014. The effects of waste policy measures were also identified. HSW generation in Okayama will increase from 11.60 million tons (mt) in 1980 to 25.02 mt in 2025, and the corresponding figures are 6.82 mt (in 1980) and 14.00 mt (in 2025) in Otsu. To better manage local HSW, several possible and appropriate implications such as promoting a green lifestyle, extending producer responsibility, intensifying recycling and source separation, generalizing composting, and establishing flexible measures and sustainable policies should be adopted. Results of this study would facilitate consumer management of low waste generation and support an effective HSW policy design in the two case cities. Success could lead to emulation by other Japanese cities seeking to build and maintain a sustainable, eco-friendly society. Moreover, the methodologies of establishing coupled estimation model systems could be extended to China and other global cities.
