Įvadas. Astma yra lėtinė uždegiminė plaučių liga, kuriai būdinga kvėpavimo takų eozinofilija. Uždegimas apima ir plaučių struktūrines ląsteles: bronchų lygiųjų raumenų ląsteles, fibroblastus, kurių aktyvumas valdomas per uždegiminių ląstelių išskiriamus mediatorius. Iki šiol neaišku, kaip eozinofilai veikia bronchų lygiųjų raumenų ląstelių kontraktiliškumą. Tyrimo tikslas. Slopinant interleukino-5 signalinį kelią, pvz., benralizumabu, veiksmingaimažinamas eozinofilinis uždegimas, retinami astmos paūmėjimai, pavyksta pasiekti geresnės astmos simptomų kontrolės, sumažinti geriamųjų gliukokortikoidų dozes arba juos visiškai nutraukti. Įvadas. Eozinofilinis kvėpavimo takų uždegimas – svarbus astmos patogenezės komponentas. Eozinofilai yra gebančios adhezuoti ląstelės, nes turi pagrindinius adhezijos receptorius – integrinus, kurie ne tik atlieka prisitvirtinimo funkciją, bet gali elgtis kaip signalo perdavėjai abipus komunikuojančių ląstelių. Manoma, kad ne visi eozinofilai pasižymi vienodomis adhezinėmis savybėmis ir priklausomai nuo to gali skirtis savo atliekamomis funkcijomis.
