Abstract:
The genus Epistrophe Walker, 1852 (Diptera: Syrphidae) was studied in the north of Iran. The specimens were collected using malaise traps between March and August 2011. Three species were collected and identified: Epistrophe nitidicollis (Meigen, 1822), E. eligans (Harris, 1780) and E. euchroma (Kowarz, 1885). E. nitidicollis is a new record from Iran. Geographical distribution of the three species are briefly discussed. An identification key with supplementary figures is presented for the species of the genus Epistrophe occurring in this region.

Abstract:
Crucial in Pierre Hadot’s account of ancient philosophy as a way of life is the phenomenon of conversion. Well before he encountered some of the decisive influences upon his understanding of philosophy, Hadot already understood ancient philosophy and its long legacy in later thinkers of the West as much more than a formal discourse. Philosophy is an experience, or at least the exploration and articulation of a potential for experience. The energy of this potential originates in a polar tension between epistrophe (return) and metanoia (rebirth). The two poles, which are grounded in primal experiences of the living organism, motivate and model the conversion which must be lived by the philosopher. The genius of Western philosophical experience lies in the effort to synthesize return and rebirth, and thereby recover the self as an ontological point of identification with and origin of the cosmos.

Abstract:
This paper tackles upon John Scottus Eriugena’s concept of the return while presenting it against the background of the Neoplatonic teaching about return (epistrophe). The return belongs to the conceptual triad: mone-proodos-epistrophe which used to serve Neoplatonic thinkers to describe the structure of reality and its dependence on the First Cause. In the system of Eriugena who bequeathed that very teaching from the Christian Neoplatonists (Pseudo-Dionysius, Maximus the Confessor, Gregory of Nyssa), we talk about the return on metaphysical and mystical level in addition to the general return (reditus generalis) and the return of the elects (reditus specialis). Eriugena indicates the cyclical processes in the whole nature but at the same time he stresses that the return is caused by divine grace and the very condition of its possibility is the fact of taking fl esh (incarnatio) and taking human nature (inhumanatio) by Jesus Christ.

Abstract:
Abstract Two cases of progressive, occipital lancinating pain and dysesthesias associated with a sensory deficit of the C2 dermatome are presented. Symptoms were relieved, and C2 sensory function restored by releasing a hypertrophied atlanto-epistrophic ligament entrapping the C2 root and ganglion. The normal anatomy and abnormal surgical findings are described. C2 entrapment by the atlanto-epistrophic ligament is discussed in reference to other C2 lesions causing occipital pain. We conclude that some patients whose progressive occipital pain is accompanied by a C2 sensory deficit are suffering from entrapment of the C2 root and ganglion amenable to surgical decompression.

Abstract:
The article on the basis of the ecological value of reflection the concept of sustainable development and Hellenistic concepts is conceptual and methodological improvement of health saving competence of Physical Education teachers in the conditions of post-graduate education. There are presented methodological ways of greening of health and fitness technologies and identified opportunities for ecologically oriented their use by the teacher. Based on ecophilic interpretation of Hellenistic ideas are developed methodological concepts “Tellusantropo convergence” of the “Arete of the earth”, “Tellusantropo harmonization”, “Astoria of the Earth”, “Tellusantropo reflection”. Cultural, educational and technological sense of these concepts is existential axiological and ecophilic-oriented representation and interpretation the idea of sustainable development with the aim of using them as a Physical Education teacher in the educational health saving and fitness technologies and practices. In order to form a value relation to the Earth, to develop the “Arete of the Earth” and to unveil the “Existential of the Earth”, we used the value-oriented reflexive technique of the “Epistrophe of the Earth”. The method of “Epistrophe of the Earth” with its further improvement and testing can be used to form a valuable attitude to the Earth, actualization of environmental issues, formation of psychological health of participants in the educational process and actualization of the concept of sustainable development.

Abstract:
Abstract Black elder (Sambucus nigra L.) commonly occurs throughout the country – it can be found in forests, thickets, parks, balks or in home gardens. It is a valuable reservoir of food for beneficial insects and a place of refuge or wintering. Almost every part of the elderberry plant has some uses: the fruits, flowers, leaves, roots, pith and bark. Its fruits and flowers are used in herbal medicine and in the kitchen. S. nigra is a primary host of Aphis sambuci L. feeding, which weakens plant growth, reduces flowering and fruiting, and decreases the ornamental value of these shrubs. Aphid populations are limited by a group of predatory and parasitic organisms, among which an important role is played by predatory Syrphidae. Observations were conducted in the years 2009 and 2010 in Krakow (south Poland, 19°57’E, 50°03’N). Significantly more numerous A. sambuci colonies were observed in 2009 – in the maximum of their abundance, 960 specimens per shoot were noted. Seven syrphid species were noted in A. sambuci colonies: Episyrphus balteatus (Deg.), Epistrophe eligans (Harr.), Sphaerophoria scripta (L.), Syrphus ribesii (L.), Syrphus vitripennis Meig., Scaeva pyrastri (L.) and Eupeodes corollae (Fabr.). E. balteatus dominated in both years of research. Research on the effectiveness of Syrphidae was performed on four commonly occurring species – the most voracious were Epistrophe eligans (Harr.) larvae, eating up to 676 A. sambuci aphids during their development.

The thesis researches on repeated impact and deformation by using self-made repeated impact fatigue tester and selecting four groups of coating test specimen with different thickness. The thesis finds that test specimen have epistrophe effect under the deformation rules of repeated impact loading. And different coating test specimen with different thickness result in different results under the same repeated impact conditions: the total depths, total strain, deformation hardening degrees and deformation hardening depths are different. It is proposed that coating thickness should be increased to improve the ability of materials resisting repeated impact and deformation within a certain range. As to this experiment, the optimal coating thickness of specimen is obtained by preliminary analysis.

Abstract:
Abstract This article presents four lenses for exploring Christian conversion and applies those lenses to three key Catholic initiation practices. The four lenses are Scripture, peak experiences, autonomy and surrender, and metanoia and epistrophe, while the three initiation practices are confirmation, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), and infant baptism. The author argues that there is a wide gap between doctrine and experience in these practices, particularly in reference to the Holy Spirit, and that this gap can be bridged by examining the initial Christian experience, a term introduced by Heribert Mühlen. Moreover, the author builds on the thought of Gordon Smith by making a sharp distinction between conversion and initiation. As a whole, this article advocates for an increased awareness of the Holy Spirit in Catholicism and for new experiential reflection upon the Catholic initiation process.

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to overview the presence of catastrophes in game worlds and, in particular, to investigate what they can tell us about real catastrophes. To this end, we present a semiotic typol-ogy of catastrophes, confronting them with epistrophes and apostrophes and further articulating them relative and absolute cessation events. Then we highlight the long-standing relationship between playfulness and disasters in literature, cinema and video games underlining how the suppos-edly opposite characteristics of the two are, in fact, a very productive cultural trope. To conclude, we look into some examples of catastrophes in game worlds, both relative (such as the “corrupted blood incident” in World of Warcraft) and absolute (the end of the worlds in StarWars Galaxies and Matrix Online).

Abstract:
There are so many speeches delivered by such famous people in this world. But, if we are asked to give the point of view about the impact of each speech delivered then the speech from Martin Luther King Jr. will convey the high meaning in term of rethorical speech especially the content and the context about the concepts of repetition found. The speech was on 28th of August 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C in a verbal ways and its text become the secondary data to be analyzed with much focus on emphasizing phrases, words or sentences. By using the concept of rethoric perspective through repetition such as anaphora, epistrophe and epizeuzis, the researcher wants to know the values behind the repetition. That is why, the analysis is using the descriptive qualitative research on taking the secondary data that has been adapted from the video and the text of the speech itself. The conclusion especially on the ideas of repetition are that Martin Luther King Jr. tries to make sure his audiences about that 1) the repetition is something more that the meaning itself, it is above. 2) The struggle, it is something true, needs to be realized in the real life, and adds the weight of the expection to be equal and free.

Abstract:
Media texts are often filled with strategies to persuade the readers and express ideas beyond the plain meaning of the words. The present study investigated the rhetorical features of Persian news headlines through the analysis of wordplay. A sample of 100 online news headlines of Euronews was selected. Wordplay was analysed because of its role in persuasion. The method was descriptive and the data was analysed on the basis of textual rhetorical analysis. Leigh’s (1994) framework including a taxonomy of different types of wordplay was adopted. Results revealed that the Persian news headlines of Euronews contained one or more clearly defined wordplay types. Tropes, or more specifically metonymies, were of the highest prevalence and wordplays such as oxymorons, parodies, anthimerias, polysyndetons, anadiploses, antimetaboles, epistrophes, climaxes and polyptotons were not present. The category of schemes encompassed the majority of unused wordplays. The discussion suggests that wordplay made the headlines more vivid and conspicuous. Keywords: Wordplay, Persuasion, Online News Headlines, Rhetoric, Schemes, Tropes

Abstract:
Analysis of the functional equivalence of an original text and its translation based on the achievement of rhythm equivalence is an extremely important task of modern linguistics. Moreover, the rhythm component is an integral part of functional equivalence that cannot be achieved without communication of rhythm figures of the text. To analyze rhythm figures in an original literary text and its translation, the authors developed the ProseRhythmDetector software tool that allows to find and visualize lexical and syntactic figures in English- and Russian-language prose texts: anaphora, epiphora, symploce, anadiplosis, epanalepsis, reduplication, epistrophe, polysyndeton, and aposiopesis. The goal of this work is to present the results of ProseRhythmDetector testing on two works by English authors and their translations into Russian: Ch. Bronte “Villette” and I. Murdoch “The Black Prince”. Basing on the results of the tool, the authors compared rhythm figures in an original text and its translation both in aspects of the rhythm and their contexts. This experiment made it possible to identify how the features of the author’s style are communicated by the translator, to detect and explain cases of mismatch of rhythm figures in the original and translated texts. The application of the ProseRhythm-Detector software tool made it possible to significantly reduce the amount of linguistsexperts work by automated detection of lexical and syntactic figures with quite high precision (from 62 % to 93 %) for various rhythm figures.

R.A. Kartini is known to be born in April and her birthday has become nationalholiday. There is certainly a good reason to appoint her as one of national hero andwas titled as woman emancipation fighter. Despite many books about her work, thelanguage aspects of her writings are rarely discussed. This writing is meant to fillin such absence and aims at revealing a linguistic aspect, namely repetition, in hernovel “Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang”, which she used to amplify her ideas. Thereare two problems to solve, namely (1) the types of repetition used in her work; and(2) the effect of using such repetition, using descriptive method. The result shows thatKartini used many types of repetition, namely anaphora, mesodiplosis, epistrophe, simploque, epizeuksis, tautology, epanalepsis, and anadiplosis. It was revealed thatthose types of repetition played a big role in amplifying her ideas in the novel. AbstrakBulan April identik dengan bulan R. A. Kartini karena pada bulan inilah beliaudilahirkan dan hari kelahirannya dinyatakan sebagai salah satu hari besar nasional.Tentu ada alasan kuat mengapa R.A.

Abstract:
The selection of suitable host plants for larval development is critical for most herbivorous insects. In this study, we examined host plant preferences of larvae of the Epistrophus white morpho butterfly, Morpho epistrophus argentinus (H. Fruhstorfer), a specialized butterfly that oviposits on a few plant species. In many species, the selection of host plant species for larvae development is under the control of ovipositing females and the role of larvae in host selection is minimal. Through field observations, we characterized larval host plant use in coastal woodland patches of its southernmost distribution range at eastern Buenos Aires, Argentina. All sampled M.e. argentinus larvaegroups (n = 40) were found on Scutia buxifolia trees, although the number of larval groups did not correlate with cover of this plant at patch scale. To further examine host plant preferences we performed translocation experiments and feeding choice assays. M.e. argentinus larvae translocated to unsuitable host plants had a shorter residence time than those translocated to suitable (i.e. control) hosts. Choice assays also indicated strong feeding preferences of wild larvae for S. buxifolia leaves. Our results highlight the high degree of host specificity of this butterfly, and reveal that host preference of growing larvae matches that of ovipositing females.

Abstract:
Abstract: This study aimed to present a list of the species of frugivorous butterflies occurring in Atlantic Forests, in the Conservation Units: National Forest of Chapecó (FLONA), Ecological Station of Mata Preta (ESEC) and State Park of Araucárias (PAEAR) and adjacent forest fragments, located in the western region of the state of Santa Catarina. Three samplings were conducted between December 2017 and March 2018, totaling 24 days of collection in each sampling area. Van Someren-Rydon traps were used to capture frugivorous butterflies. There were 4,231 frugivorous butterflies belonging to four subfamilies, 12 tribes and 49 species. In all, 37 species of frugivorous butterflies were sampled in FLONA and 29 in adjacent forest fragments. In ESEC, 29 species and 33 in adjacent forest fragments. In PAEAR, 33 species and 28 in adjacent forest fragments. Of the total species registered, 15 species are new records for the state of Santa Catarina and 11 are new records for the western region of the state. The most abundant species for FLONA were: Manataria hercyna (Hübner, 1821) and Hermeuptychia sp. In ESEC, were Hermeuptychia sp. and Yphthimoides ordinaria (Freitas, Kaminski & Mielke, 2012). In PAEAR, greater abundance of Forsterinaria quantius (Godart, 1824) and Eryphanes reevesii (Doubleday, 1849) were verified. For the adjacent forest fragments to Conservation Units, there was a greater abundance of Hermeuptychia sp., Moneuptychia soter (Butler, 1877), Morpho epistrophus (Fabricius, 1796) e Forsterinaria quantius (Godart, 1824). Satyrinae presented higher richness (S = 34) and abundance (90.58%) in all areas sampled. The rarefaction and extrapolation curves for the Conservation Units and adjacent forest fragments showed a greater rise in the FLONA and PAEAR sampling units and their adjacent forest fragments. The estimated sampling coverage for Conservation Unit and forest fragments was above 97%. The richness calculated through the Jackknife 1 estimator, for the FLONA and PAEAR samplings, presented a value of 50.75 and 37.09, respectively. The fauna of frugivorous butterflies from this region, first investigated in areas of Conservation Units, showed to be expressive and well represented in the Atlantic Forest Biome, indicating its potential as a refuge for biodiversity.
