Abstract:
ABSTRACT We present the complete genome sequences of 3 Erwinia rhapontici strains, MAFF 311153, 311154, and 311155. These chromosome sequences contained variety types of luxI/luxR gene pair involved in acylhomoserine lactone biosynthesis and reception. Large-scale insertion sequence was observed in the indigenous plasmid of MAFF 311154 and contained eraI3/eraR3 gene pair that make possible to produce acylhomoserine lactone.

Abstract Comparison of mRNA ratios of a non-DNA-binding estrogen receptor (ERα) isoform, missing exon 3 (ERαΔ3), to the full-length ERα, in normal breast epithelium to that in primary breast cancers and breast cancer cell lines revealed a 30-fold reduction of this ratio in cancer cells (P < 0.0001). To test what functions may have been affected by the loss of ERαΔ3, stable clones of MCF-7 cells expressing ectopic ERαΔ3 protein, at the range of physiological ERα, were generated. In vector-transfected controls the ERαΔ3-mRNA and protein were less than 10% while in the ERαΔ3-expressing clo

Temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility of the ErAl3(BO3)4 single crystal was measured in the temperature range of T = 2−15 K at the external magnetic field of H = 100 Oe applied along the a and c crystal-lographic axes. The influence of spin-spin correlations on the magnetic susceptibility has been identified. It was estimated that the value of Curie-Weiss temperature is θ AF ≈ −0.45 K.

Jump frequencies of Cd tracer atoms were measured in three lanthanide gallides having the L12 structure: DyGa3, ErGa3 and LuGa3. 111In/Cd impurity probe atoms were observed to occupy the non-cubic Ga-sites through the nuclear quadrupole interaction using the method of perturbed angular correlation of gamma rays (PAC). Measurements at elevated temperatures exhibited nuclear relaxation (damping) of quadrupolar perturbation functions attributed to diffusional jumps of the probes among orientationally inequivalent Ga-sites.
