Abstract:
Abstract The current study is a theoretical study that aims to underline the role of picture books as a serious genre of children's literature in raising children's understanding of English literature and life concepts; especially for non-English speakers. Unfortunately, most Iraqi people have developed a social phobia of learning English since childhood. This phobia is resulted from the heavy traditional reading and writing assignments as well as hard exams. Therefore, this study suggests incorporating more interesting literary material like picture books that would bring pleasure and help in raising children's love and cognition of English Language. More significantly, it calls to replace the old curriculum with a more vital one where children can interact with all their senses; visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (VAK). To make this possible, two of Eric Carle's books The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Tiny Seed have been carefully selected according to the American and English elementary school teachers' standards for children aged 3-6 years old. Each story element was submitted to a literary analysis, including pictures, life concepts, and language that enhance children's understanding of literature. Based on Piaget's view about the importance of involving sensorimotor actions in learning to help in children's cognition development, some VAK lesson plans and activities were designed using the concept development model and Synectics strategy. The study has concluded that incorporating picture books into the school curriculum and sensorimotor activities like coloring, cutting paper, games, sounds, and music would help in raising children's understanding of English literature and life science more interactively.

Abstract:
Since the Brooklyn Children’s Museum opened in 1899, the concept of the children’s museum has evolved internationally as a non-profit public institution focused on informal family-centred education and interactive play environments (Acosta 2000; Allen 2004). The majority of these museums highlight science education; however, over the past decade, a new specialized institution has emerged in the form of the children’s story museum that concentrates on children’s literature, storytelling, and picture book illustration. These story museums feature childhood artifacts through the curatorial and display conventions of museums and art galleries, in combination with the active play environments and learning stations of science-oriented children’s museums. These exhibits also reflect the changing place of the museum as an institution in the age of the “participatory museum”: a movement away from collections towards interactive curatorial practices across physical and digital archives (Simon 2010; Janes 2011). Framed by cross-disciplinary theoretical and methodological approaches from critical children’s museology, picture book theory, and children’s culture studies, this analysis draws upon selected examples (2014-2018) of curatorial practices, exhibits, and the spatial/ architectural design from Seven Stories: National Centre for Children’s Books (Newcastle, UK), the Hans Christian Andersen Haus/Tinderbox (Odense, Denmark), and The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art (Amherst, MA, USA). These institutions provide distinctive venues to examine the tensions between discourses of museums as institutions that house collections of material artifacts including children’s literature texts, discourses of the creative child and ‘hands-on’ engagement (Ogata 2013); and discourses of critical engagement and participatory museums. While these exhibits affirm idealized representations of childhood to some extent, participatory engagements across old and new media within these spaces have significant potential for critical and subversive dialogue with ideological constructions and representations of gender, race, socio-economic class, mobility and nationalism rooted in the children’s literature texts.

Abstract:
Over the past forty years historiography has been affected by typically postmodern epistemological crises, which have questioned two of its basic principles: the universality and the possibility to reach the truth in its narratives. In this article, we shall reflect on the Italian historian Carlo Ginzburg’s answer to this crossroads. His works, from the first steps of microhistory to the most recent debates on literary fiction, combine a methodology, which may be considered in principle as postmodern, with rigorous historical investigations. We analyze how this methodology contributes however to the revaluation of the modern historiographical principles prior to postmodernityKey WordsCarlo Ginzburg, Eric J. En este artículo se reflexiona sobre la respuesta del historiador italiano Carlo Ginzburg ante esta encrucijada. Palabras claveCarlo Ginzburg, Eric J. Abstract:
During their early years, young children are exposed to a range of learning settings, both formal and informal. This study focused on young children's engagement and reflection in an informal museum context. Using qualitative research methodology, a three-week community art project, The Art of Eric Carle, was examined. This setting combined an interactive art exhibition and an art studio workshop, to resemble the informal learning context characteristic of popular, contemporary, interactive museum venues of all kinds. Through a descriptive interpretative analysis, the study aimed to document the experiences and abilities of young children (aged birth to eight years) as artists and art appreciators within this environment. A broader aim of the study was to identify a range of conditions that support high quality experiences for young children in informal learning settings in general. A detailed set of ideal criteria, encompassing the physical, programming and social components of the learning setting was developed and applied to The Art of Eric Carle project. The findings of the study clearly demonstrated that certain conditions enhance young children's engagement and reflection in informal learning settings. While physical, programming and social factors all play a role in forming young visitors' experiences, it is the social component of the learning environment, specifically children's interactions with adults, that determines the quality of their encounters. Social exchanges assist children to interpret the museum environment and its exhibits and to successfully take part in the learning experiences offered. A synergistic relationship exists between physical, programming and social factors, and with equal attention given to each of these aspects of the informal learning setting, high quality experiences can be provided for young children.

There are different sorotypes of Escherichia coli responsable for enteric disfunctions, and in the most of time those are related with meat consume or contaminated food that had not been cooked with an efficient thermal treatment before been ingested. In Brazil there aren t inform data of possible outbreaks caused by E. coli O157:H7, but this pathogen has been frequently isolated from cattle s feces, and it was recently isolated from bovine carcass at two slaughterhouses in Goiás. The present study has the objective to characterize by ERIC-PCR E. coli and E. coli O157:H7 detected at bovine carcass surfaces and check the power of this methodology to identify different isolates of E. coli and E. coli O157:H7. ERIC-PCR was used to characterize 111 samples, and it was obtained 32 fingerprints separated in 90 isolates of E. coli and eight fingerprints separated in 16 isolates of E. coli O157:H7. From the total of 111 samples, two isolates of E. coli and five of E. coli O157:H7 were non-tipables. The fingerprints varies from one to 18 bands. The discrimination between the samples was high, showing the big power of ERIC-PCR to discriminate isolates from one specie. The discriminatory index between E. coli and E. coli O157:H7 obtained was 0,96.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This chapter reconstructs the origins of political theology in Carl Schmitt’s polemical engagement with the jurisprudence of Hans Kelsen and with the critique of sovereignty in English pluralist political theory. Kelsen sought to dismiss the idea of the state as a legal personality standing above the legal system as the product of an unscientific approach to jurisprudence because reliant on theological analogies with God’s transcendence over nature. This chapter shows that what Schmitt calls ‘political theology’ is a defence of these politico-theological analogies based on the claim that the political unity of a people requires a non-electoral form of representation of divine transcendence. The chapter then discusses Schmitt’s interpretation of Hobbes as recovering for modernity this Christian idea of political representation and compares it with the critique of Hobbes found in English pluralist theory. The chapter ends with a discussion of the debate between Schmitt and the German theologian Erik Peterson on Trinitarianism as ‘Christian’ political theology.

Abstract:
Currently many network assets developed with Embedded Linux use RESTful interface as a mean of communication and access to available resour-ces. A critical point in the development of this system model is the scarcity of hardware resources, so great care is needed in the development of applications regarding memory, CPU and disk space usage. Knowing this, this paper aims to make a comparative study of the development models available to assist the reader in deciding which implementation model he should use in the development of this type of system.
