"Identification de la déformation représentative et de la loi d’écrouissage des matériaux avec l’indentation sphérique en se basant sur un modèle de gradient de dureté." Matériaux & Techniques 110, no. 2 (2022): 205. http://dx.doi.org/10.1051/mattech/2022025.

Full text
Abstract:
Cette méthodologie est basée sur celle définie par Hernot et al. (2013) (X. Hernot, C. Moussa, O. Bartier, Study of the concept of representative strain and constraint factor introduced by Vickers indentation, Mech. Mater. Pharr, A numerical approach to spherical indentation techniques for material property evaluation, J. Mech. Phys. Solids 53(9), 2037–2069 (2005), https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jmps.2005.04.007 [31]). The Hardness of Metals, Oxford University Press, Oxford, New York, 2000. [7]). Ahn, D. Kwon, Derivation of plastic stress–strain relationship from ball indentations: Examination of strain definition and pileup effect, J. Mater. Res. 16(11), 3170–3178 (2001), https://doi.org/10.1557/JMR.2001.0437 [8]) et Jeon et al. (2005) (E. Jeon, M. Baik, S. Kim, et al., Determining representative stress and representative strain in deriving indentation flow curves based on finite element analysis, Key Eng. Mater. 297-300, 2152–2157 (2005), https://doi.org/10.4028/www.scientific.net/KEM.297-300.2152 [9]).

Abstract:
The discipline called the “anthropology of Christianity” began to gain traction in the early to mid-2000s when interested scholars focused on Christianity as an object of collaborative and comparative cross-cultural analysis. Along with several landmark works of Joel Robbins, one foundational text is Fenella Cannell's edited volume The Anthropology of Christianity, published in 2006. In her introductory essay, Cannell poses a pointed question for the volume and the discipline itself: “What difference does Christianity make?” Bracketing the question of whether “difference” can or should be defined (Green 2014), several anthropologists have taken inspiration from Cannell, including Naomi Haynes (2014) in the concluding essay to a recent special issue of Current Anthropology, and myself and Debra McDougall (2013) in an edited volume on Christian politics in Oceania. Difference, as the criterion by which continuity and transformation are evaluated, is arguably the key concept for an effective anthropological engagement with Christianity.

Abstract:
Predictable outcomes intended by the application of PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) derivative membranes have created a lack of consideration for their consistency and functional integrity. This study aimed to compare the mechanical properties through tensile strength and analyze the structural organization among the membranes produced by L-PRF (leukocyte platelet-rich fibrin), A-PRF (advanced platelet-rich fibrin), and A-PRF+ (advanced platelet-rich fibrin plus) (original protocols) that varied in centrifugation speed and time. L-PRF (n = 12), A-PRF (n = 19), and A-PRF+ (n = 13) membranes were submitted to a traction test, evaluating the maximum and average traction. For maximum traction, 0.0020, 0.0022, and 0.0010 N·mm−2 were obtained for A-PRF, A-PRF+, and L-PRF, respectively; regarding the average resistance to traction, 0.0012, 0.0015, and 0.006 N·mm−2 were obtained, respectively (A-PRF+ > A-PRF > L-PRF). For all groups studied, significant results were found. In the surface morphology observations through SEM, the L-PRF matrix showed a highly compact surface with thick fibers present within interfibrous areas with the apparent destruction of red blood cells and leukocytes. The A-PRF protocol showed a dense matrix composed of thin and elongated fibers that seemed to follow a preferential and orientated direction in which the platelets were well-adhered. Porosity was also evident with a large diameter of the interfibrous spaces whereas A-PRF+ was the most porous platelet concentrate with the greatest fiber abundance and cell preservation. Thus, this study concluded that A-PRF+ produced membranes with significant and higher maximum traction results, indicating a better viscoelastic strength when stretched by two opposing forces.

Abstract:
The ‘interpretive turn’ has gained traction as a research approach in recent decades in the empirical social sciences. While the contributions of interpretive research and interpretive research methods are clear, we wonder: Does an interpretive perspective lend itself to – or even demand – a particular style of teaching? This question was at the heart of a roundtable discussion we organised at the 2014 Interpretive Policy Analysis (IPA) International Conference. This essay reports on the contours of the discussion, with a focus on our reflections upon what it might mean to teach ‘interpretively’. Prior to outlining these, we introduce the defining characteristics of an interpretive perspective and describe our respective experiences and interests in this conversation. In the hope that this essay might constitute the beginning of a wider conversation, we close it with an invitation for others to respond.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Canadian philosopher George Grant's claims that technological mastery, especially as it is founded on a degeneracy of the will, finds its starting point in Augustinian anthropology. This essay explores the Grantian critique and takes Augustine's account of sexuality as the point of focus, since some form of domination and instrumentality is arguably a necessary element of the Augustinian perspective on sexuality. Though an inconsistency is found in Augustine's language of "use" which gives some traction to the charge of mastery, his own account is considered as a potential remedy to the very problem that Grant wants to attribute to Augustinian Christianity.

Abstract:
In the last decade, the concept of radical diversity has gained traction, not least in the circles around the postmigrant theatre at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin. This essay explores this concept and interprets it as part of the overall tendency in postmigratory art and culture to move beyond clear-cut identity groups and to build alliances and coalitions beyond stable identity markers. Radical diversity thus not only denounces doctrines of cultural homogeneity and monoculturalism but also rejects the logic of integration and traditional ideas of multiculturalism. Against this background, radical diversity focuses on the multiplicity of subject positions in society, as well as on the complexity of structures of discrimination and marginalization. As a artistic-political intervention, this essay argues, radical diversity expresses some of the major characteristics of postmigrant societies and urges us to reconsider traditional research perspectives on migratory art and on the relation between culture and migration.

Abstract:
Abstract Hypersensitivity pneumonitis is a diffuse interstitial and granulomatous lung disease caused by the inhalation of any one of a number of antigens. The objective of this study was to illustrate the spectrum of abnormalities in high-resolution computed tomography and histopathological findings related to hypersensitivity pneumonitis. We retrospectively evaluated patients who had been diagnosed with hypersensitivity pneumonitis (on the basis of clinical-radiological or clinical-radiological-pathological correlations) and had undergone lung biopsy. Hypersensitivity pneumonitis is clinically divided into acute, subacute, and chronic forms; high-resolution computed tomography findings correlate with the time of exposure; and the two occasionally overlap. In the subacute form, centrilobular micronodules, ground-glass opacities, and air trapping are characteristic high-resolution computed tomography findings, whereas histopathology shows lymphocytic inflammatory infiltrates, bronchiolitis, variable degrees of organizing pneumonia, and giant cells. In the chronic form, high-resolution computed tomography shows traction bronchiectasis, honeycombing, and lung fibrosis, the last also being seen in the biopsy sample. A definitive diagnosis of hypersensitivity pneumonitis can be made only through a multidisciplinary approach, by correlating clinical findings, exposure history, high-resolution computed tomography findings, and lung biopsy findings.

Abstract:
The main characteristic of cathodic copper is the concentration of impurities because it depends on mechanical characteristics, i.e. ductility, of the derived copper wires. The standard mechanical tests that evaluate their ductility, are quick elongation and spiral elongation tests. The results of these essais shown that there is not a clear correlation among the impurities content in cathodes and wire ductility. Also, the two mechanical tests actually used are not able to discriminate differences on the copper ductility associated to variations in impurities concentration, at ppm level. In this work, a design of new specimen for traction test, with a reduced gage length of 10 mm that clearly discriminate differences on copper ductility associated to variations in impurities concentration is exposed. In addition, from traction tests to copper wires and observation of their fracture surfaces by means of SEM and EDS it is concluded that the principal impurity affecting the ductility of the copper wires is the oxygen, mainly incorporated during the melting of the cathodes and casting of the rods. Also, the traditional annealing to the samples previous to the tensile tests must to be avoid since produces a dispersion on the matrix of the Cu2O oxides and so the deleterious effect of the oxygen on the copper ductility cannot be detected.

Abstract:

Modern empirical social science is unique in denying, dismissing, or discounting the role of justice considerations in human behavior. In this essay, I explore various conceptual, epistemological, methodological, and sociology-of-the-field issues that may be responsible for its limited traction thus far and argue that only the last represents a serious obstacle. Whether recent trends and developments inirindicate that the time may finally be ripe for a robust normal science on the role of justice considerations in international politics remains to be seen, but negotiation theorists are in the best position to move it forward.

The literature on the role of law in countries with so‐called hybrid regimes that are stuck somewhere between democracy and authoritarianism tends to dwell on the politicization of law and the courts. Taking Russia as a case study, this essay reviews a cross‐section of the literature on its courts in order to document this tendency and explore why alternative narratives of law have failed to gain traction: Burbank's Russian Peasants Go to Court (2004); Feifer's Justice in Moscow (1964); Kaminskaya's Final Judgment (1982); Ledeneva's Can Russia Modernise? Abstract:
In this essay, Brian D. Lozenski explores why Gloria Ladson-Billings's 2006 pronouncement of the nation's “education debt,” as opposed to “achievement gap,” has not gained traction in the national discourse around educational disparity. He contends that education debt is a more nuanced, historically based, and generative framing of racialized educational disparity, which has been marginalized by the narratives of crisis in education, specifically with black youth, that necessitate a frantic urgency allowing for ahistorical, quick-fix solutions to complex problems. Through a tracing of four major epochs in African American education, including the mid-nineteenth-century era of slavery statutes, Reconstruction, post–Brown v. Board, and today's early twenty-first-century “crisis,” of the underachievement of black youth in schools, the author considers how African American education has always been precarious and, thus, able to be labeled a “crisis.” Using a combination of synchronic (snapshot) and diachronic (longitudinal) analyses, he demonstrates how the achievement gap logic does not allow us to address historical constructions of contemporary disparity. Lozenski concludes the essay by suggesting that African American self-determination, and not the reification of the nation-state through state-centered reform efforts, should be the driving force behind educational decisions that impact black youth.

The diagnosis made by Dr P. C. Remondino, M.D. was unambiguous. “Trilbyis a masterpiece when viewed in the light of a study in heredity,” he announced in the pages ofPractical Medicinein 1895. “Du Maurier has given us . . . the well digested results of a careful as well as discriminating study. . . . Neither Darwin, [nor] Galton, . . . could have given us a more comprehensive or more lucid study of the subject. Neither could Maudsley” (380–81). Despite the good doctor's critical insight,Trilby's deployment of degenerationist discourse has often gone unnoticed. On the rare occasions it has been touched upon, it has most often been subsumed under the banner offin-de-siècleanti-Semitism or connected to Du Maurier's anti-Aestheticism. Yet what this essay reveals is that art, degeneration, and anti-Semitism were, in fact, intimately connected in the late nineteenth century, and that this not only influenced literature, it also shaped its reception. This essay examinesTrilby(1894) in conjunction withThe Master(1894), a novel by the most important British Zionist of the late nineteenth century, Israel Zangwill. Since Zangwill's death in 1926, literary critics have paid him scant attention. His contributions to degenerationism have been wholly overlooked even though his notion of the “melting pot” was almost certainly the theory of ethnicity with the most traction in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century America.

Abstract:
Abstract The concept or notion of ‘digital religion’ has gained traction in recent years in the study of the intersection of media and religion. In this paper, I argue that this concept tends to reify ‘religion’ as a unique, sui generis phenomenon, disregarding decades-long debates about the idea of ‘religion’ in the study of religion. After deconstructing the notion of ‘digital religion’, as put forward in an essay by Stewart Hoover and Nabil Echchaibi (2014), I propose a social theory perspective of (digital) space, drawing mainly from the sociology of space and taking into account affordances and the citational nature of signifying practices. In the final section, I apply this approach to data I gathered during fieldwork online and offline among Salafi Muslims in the Netherlands and Germany from 2008 until 2015; this will showcase the potential not only for abstaining from ‘religionizing’ social phenomena but also of a social theory approach to the production of digital spaces.

Abstract:
Foucault’s discussion of parrhēsia – frank speech – in his last two Collège de France lecture courses has led many to wonder if Foucault is pursuing parrhēsia as a contemporary strategy for resistance. This essay argues that ethical parrhēsia on either the Socratic or Cynical model would have little critical traction today because the current environment is plagued by problems analogous to those Plato thought plagued Athenian democracy. Specifically, authentication of parrhesiasts as a technique for authenticating their speech – the specific problem that the move to ethical parrhēsia in ancient Greece was designed to solve – becomes intractable in a social media environment, even with the added Cynical move to pure visibility. The problem is that contemporary society overproduces visibility as a condition for participation, which means that the context for authenticating parrhesiastic speech is one in which visibility is banalized and in which there is a surplus of speech which presents as parrhesiastic. The problem of authentication is thus a serious one, one which social media makes particularly intractable.

Abstract:
The article aims to describe the stories about Ippolito Nievo’s death, as depicted in various genres of texts from the 1960s to the present. These texts exhibit a combination of essayistic and narrative elements, incorporating both factual information and the authors’ imaginative interpretations. The popularity of the topic is closely tied to the prevalence of conspiracy theories, which have gained significant traction in recent decades. Furthermore, it should probably be placed within the Risorgimento revisionism current that radicalized in the seventies of the last century and represents a broader trend of revising official historical accounts. Among the texts identified, four were selected for an in-depth analysis both from the point of view of the content and from the point of view of the authors’ approach and their formal choices. These texts do not lend themselves to a simple classification of the literary genre, falling somewhere along the continuum between a narrative essay and a novel.

Abstract:
Over the last century within the philosophy of mind, the intersubjective model of self has gained traction as a viable alternative to the oft-criticised Cartesian solipsistic paradigm. These two models are presented as incompatible inasmuch as Cartesians perceive other minds as “a problem” for the self, while intersubjectivists insist that sociality is foundational to selfhood. This essay uses the Paranormal Activity series (2007–2015) to explore this philosophical debate. It is argued that these films simultaneously evoke Cartesian premises (via found-footage camerawork), and intersubjectivity (via an ongoing narrative structure that emphasises connections between the characters, and between each film). The philosophical debates illuminate premises on which the series’ story and horror depends. Moreover, Paranormal Activity also sheds light on the theoretical debate: the series brings those two paradigms together into a coherent whole, thereby suggesting that the two models are potentially compatible. By developing a combined model, scholars working in the philosophy of mind might better account for the different aspects of self-experience these paradigms focus on.

Abstract:
In late 2015, debate among many US Republican presidential candidates focused on immigration policy, with one candidate who was hostile to America’s immigration policy, opining that the 14th Amendment’s definition of citizenship may be unconstitutional. This was the view of the GOP candidate who eventually won the Presidency. The question of citizenship, and the linked issue of rights, was contested in the early republic. Much of the quarrel revolved around the issue of slavery. At least three competing notions of citizenship and rights gained traction by the first half of the 19th century: one argued for citizenship and rights only for whites; another urged that “popular sovereignty” should determine rights and citizenship. A third insisted on an inclusive definition of citizenship. By 1868, the 14th Amendment underscored the latter view. But, as current affairs in America show, the bickering persists, often using arguments similar to those found in the early republic’s squabbles. This essay explores the debate among the viewpoints articulated during the first half of the 19th century and seeks to draw out counsel for our own time.

Abstract:
Overdoing Democracy is an important contribution to the literature on (deliberative) democracy, as it offers a sobering diagnosis of the risks and pitfalls of (overdoing) democracy in the form of internal critique. But the book does not go far enough in its diagnosis because it is not sufficiently critical towards some of the basic assumptions of deliberative conceptions of democracy. In particular, Talisse does not sufficiently attend to the inevitable power struggles in a society, where different groups and individuals must protect their own (often conflicting) interests instead of working towards a ‘common good.’ In this essay, I contrast two different visions of democracy and politics, one based on ideals of consensus and cooperation, and another on the inevitability of perennial conflict. I then briefly present an alternative to deliberative conceptions of democracy that has gained traction in recent decades, known as agonism. Next, I offer a short reconstruction of Talisse’s proposal, and finally I sketch a critical assessment of some of his main claims and assumptions from an agonistic perspective.

Abstract:
Although this essay is about reading texts from the past, I begin with the present, with a US president who was elected despite widespread knowledge that he had infamously boasted about how he often starts kissing beautiful women without consent. “I don't even wait,” he crowed. “When you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.” The internet was soon flooded with angry feminist responses to his crass admission of sexual violence, retorts that appropriated his use of vulgar language with wit and resistance, the most prevalent being the meme “Pussy Grabs Back!” (see fig. 1). The Pussy Hat Project soon followed. As we know, the pussy hat phenomenon offended some who felt it was racist (not all vulvas are pink) and/or transphobic (not all women have pussies). Nevertheless, a sea of pink pussy hats, worn by persons of many embodiments and identity categories, would be seen in protest, worldwide, at the record-breaking post-inauguration Women's Marches across the globe. If “Grab ’em by the pussy” rightly offended, “Pussy Grabs Back!” gained traction.

Ergonomia. PHYSICAL CHARGE ASSESSEMENT OF AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY OPERATORS IN THE EAST LARGE COAST OF CEARÁ ABSTRACT: Tractor use is increasingly indispensable in the production chain of most economic interest. The rising tractors use reflects not only the productivity increase but also the risk to which agricultural machinery operators are subject. Among several risks, can be mentioned the physical load, activities considered heavy, that can cause dizziness, nausea and even fainting, increasing the accidents risk. One way to evaluating this physical load is through the heart rate analysis. From this information, the aim of this work was to evaluate the physical workload in different activities with tractor, verifying if these activities are unhealthy for agricultural machine operator. The work was conducted on the eastern coast of Ceará. The physical work load was performed by means of operators’ heart rate survey activities of harrowing, spraying and coconut harvesting and transport. Spraying and harvesting activities were classified as light and harrowing was classified as moderately heavy. Harvest activity was the one that demanded less effort from operators. None of the activities were unhealthy and did not require rest time, however harrowing activity was considered moderately heavy by study conditions thus, there is a need for a greater attention with this kind of activity. Keywords: Heart Rate, Tractor, Ergonomics.

Abstract:
Abstract This essay explores the problem of what I call “elsewhere catastrophe”: a conviction that catastrophe always occurs outside the US nation, traditionally to the south and the east, or happens to racialized bodies that themselves constitute a kind of beyond. At the same time, American literary history reminds us that the vast knowledge traditions developed by those who faced and still face the structures of ongoing settler colonialism and slavery may provide the best available answers, the strongest critical traction, for facing this century. The project of American literary catastrophism derives in part from a body of theory that Caribbean intellectual history has been developing and refining since the first invasion of the archipelago—and the practice of American literary catastrophism must embrace the many traditions that tell stories, create verse, and generate knowledge about how to live in the midst of world-ending. Through brief readings of Tommy Orange, Herman Melville, and N. K. Jemisin, I propose American literary catastrophism as the project of assembling a broad literary tradition of the hemisphere required of our times. The project of American literary catastrophism . . . is both historicist and deliberately presentist; it moves between both modes . . . attending to an ongoing catastrophe that always recedes, eventually, from dominant public view and memory.

Abstract:
Abstract This essay explores three issues in respect for autonomy that pose unfinished business for the concept. By this, I mean that the dialogue over them is ongoing and essentially unresolved. These are: (1) whether we ought to respect persons or their autonomous choices; (2) the role of relational autonomy; and (3) whether nonhuman animals can be autonomous. In attending to this particular set of unfinished business, I highlight some critical moral work left aside by the concept of respect for autonomy as understood in Beauchamp and Childress’ Principles of Biomedical Ethics. Specifically, while significant pragmatic traction is gained by the authors’ focus on autonomous choice, carving such a focus out from the broader questions of moral respect and the autonomy of the person leaves aside a number of questions that we might have thought a view about respect for autonomy in biomedicine ought to answer. These include: How should physicians respond when autonomous patients make decisions that appear nonautonomous? What is the impact of the view that autonomy is “relational” for cross-cultural differences in how autonomy is respected? If chimpanzees (and by extension young children) can be autonomous, what does that mean for how they should be treated?

Abstract:
Research on how physicians predict and communicate prognosis focuses primarily on end-of-life care. Unsurprisingly, as genomic technology gains traction as a prognostic tool, the focus has also been on terminality, with research focused on how genetic results may be used to terminate pregnancies or redirect care towards palliation for neonates. However, genomic results also have powerful impacts on how patients who live prepare for their futures. Genomic testing provides broad-reaching and early—albeit complex, uncertain, and shifting—prognostic information. In this essay, we argue that as genomic testing occurs earlier and increasingly in a screening context, researchers and clinicians must strive to understand and manage the prognostic implications of results. While our understanding of the psychosocial and communicational aspects of prognosis in symptomatic populations is incomplete, it has progressed further than our understanding in a screening context and therefore provides useful lessons and feasible opportunities for further research. By providing an interdisciplinary and inter-specialty perspective on the psychosocial and communicational aspects of prognosis in genetics, we discuss prognostication with respect to genetics from the neonatal period through adulthood, highlighting medical specialties and patient populations that are especially informative for considering the longitudinal management of prognostic information in genomic medicine.

Abstract:
Since the beginning of the financial crisis of 2008, authors and politicians have regularly reminded us of the duality of crisis and opportunity. For policymakers, administrations, and candidates, crises represent opportunities to implement long-desired reforms, seize the public stage, and reframe old arguments in the light of today's urgency. As the books under review here suggest, crises also represent opportunities for scholars. Arguments that failed to gain traction in the past may now deserve new attention as they help us understand the roots of crisis or how to recover from it. New audiences may be receptive to established arguments, now that other policies have caused us grief and are failing to promote recovery. The public and decision makers could be open to listening to these arguments and their implications, now that crisis has revealed deep vulnerabilities. The three books that form the basis of this review essay represent trenchant critiques of neoliberal economic theory and policies, including such foundational policy assumptions as globalization, deregulation, and reliance on sophisticated financial tools. Their authors, three prominent economists, draw our attention to problems of market failure, such as rampant rent-seeking behavior and externalities. By focusing on entrenched dilemmas that include widening inequality and the compatibility of democracy and globalization, they remind us of the ways in which markets are embedded in social institutions, and how such institutions both respond to markets and shape market outcomes. All bring with them a deep commitment to understanding the functioning of society and how to maintain the benefits of global capitalism while reining in its most destructive implications.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the historiographic writings for accounting concerned with the craft of researching and writing history, published in the English-language, across a period of 30 years from 1983 to 2012. The study's aim is three-fold: first, to review the literature pertaining to the writing of accounting history and to identify key developments and trends; second, to identify the contributors to this literature and their publication outlets and third, to analyze citations to identify individuals or groups who have gained traction in accounting historiography. Design/methodology/approach – An essay focusing on developments in the accounting historiography literature as well as a review of some key thoughts or issues in present-day accounting historiography. Findings – The study shows that a key development in the accounting historiography literature during this period has been the advent of new accounting history, which has contributed much theoretical and topical diversity in historical accounting research and an acceptance of the role of oral history as a means of expanding the archive. Research limitations/implications – The present study, with its focus on contributions on the craft of researching and writing history, does not itself examine actual research studies which have been undertaken on accounting's past across the same period of time. Originality/value – The study may assist in making the contributions examined more generally assessable and comprehensible to researchers to both explore and re-explore and may even contribute to the development of further contributions on accounting historiography to guide the approaches to, and direction of, historical accounting research in future.

New York's Meatpacking District, on Manhattan's west side south of Fourteenth Street, has gone through several incarnations. In the early twentieth century, it was home to hundreds of butchers and processors. During the past decade, development exploded, and today, only seven meat wholesalers and distributers remain. The area was designated a historical district in 2003, and even this remnant will soon diminish, displaced by a new home for the Whitney Museum. But between the hours of 2:00 and 10:00 a.m., tractor-trailers still idle on Washington Street, whole carcasses are loaded into large refrigerated workrooms, and men who commute from Jersey and outlying boroughs still labor under cold fluorescents over bloodied power saws. A photo essay showing activities in DeBragga and Spitler, Inc. and J.T. Jobbagy, Inc., two of the remaining meat wholesalers and butchers in New York's Meatpacking district. Abstract:
Online marketing is the process by which a business markets and sells its goods and services to potential clients using internet-based tools. The tools and methods used to offer clients an original and improvised buying experience are continuously evolving, which defines internet marketing. Marketers are constantly working on new innovations to better position themselves in the competition to attract the most clients. Businesses capitalize on customers' propensity for searching out novelty. Customers enjoy trying new things, therefore merchants are constantly looking for cutting-edge experiences that they can offer their clients. This essay examines recent developments in online marketing strategies and how using these cutting-edge strategies in online marketing campaigns benefits merchants. Digital marketing comprises a wide range of internet marketing tactics, such as search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SME), and link building. The contemporary economic climate is more inclined towards the usage of electronic technology. The idea of a "Sharing Economy" is gaining traction in the current environment of digital contact. Entrepreneurs who have contributed to current industrial advancements as well as the expanded and quickly expanding industries globally are being followed by new developments. The phrase "digital marketing" is used to describe a wide range of advertising strategies used to connect with consumers online. Over the past few years, digital marketing has undergone a significant transition and is constantly changing. The study also considers the challenges that marketers and customers encounter, as well as how marketers might get over these challenges in online marketing. The study shows that both buyers and sellers are excited about implementing cutting-edge online marketing strategies.

This study consists of recovering plastic waste that pollutes the environment, by proposing a method of recycling this waste, by transforming it into a binder that can be used for the manufacture of materials for road surfacing and interior and exterior flooring. The methodology used consists of using low-density plastic waste (LDP) collected in six (06) districts of Bangui as a binder in a sandy matrix from the Oubangui River. A total of 54 specimens (blocks) were manufactured at different dosages (10; 15; 20; 25; 30; 40; 45 and 50% of plastic contents) and were subjected to physical and mechanical tests. The results of these tests show that the porosity decreases from 4.99 to 1.21% when the plastic content increases from 25 to 50%. The compressive strength increases from 5.15 to 30.61 MPa when the plastic content varies from 10% to 30%. It gradually drops until it reaches 11.49 MPa when the plastic content exceeds 35%. The tensile strength (Rt) increases from 0.9 to 2.43 MPa when the plastic content varies from 10 to 35% before gradually decreasing to 1.28 MPa when the plastic content reaches 50%.

Abstract:

Today, iconic architecture is the dominant mode of contemporary public life, but the wishes of the European city and role of public space are based on financial emergencies—even if the term ‘financial’ is screened out by the mesmeric distraction of such spectral, prodigal buildings. While iconic architecture parades as visual stunt—an “avant garde” project of the digital image that violently pushes physics and engineering to its limits—such projects are only made possible by giant debt arrangements; and, as I will argue, their primary agenda is to solve serious financial problems. Yet, not only do these projects often fail to generate the future income (fictitious capital) promised and thus leave the town with an impossible 30-year mortgage that might never be repaid, iconic developments also have the power to contribute to distortions of capital (economic crises) beyond the project and the city itself. This essay will examine the Olympic development and iconic objects designed by Santiago Calatrava for the Athens Summer Games in 2004, and the dual Olympic-budget crisis and national crisis that converged on Calatrava’s project. After the games, the Greek Olympic development attracted considerable financial critique from outside the architectural discipline: economists debated how the Olympic development was implicated in the Greek crisis, and a parallel Left protest-movement against Calatrava, the public figure, for financial corruption through iconic projects gained traction. Regardless of the veracity of these arraignments; in Greece, I propose the Olympic development became a visual cipher for the ongoing Greek crisis. Calatrava’s project illustrates the ways in which National crises in Europe today are played out via architectural icons, and the transformation of public space into both a financial medium and narrator of financial crisis.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Comics—A form once considered pure junk—Is sparking interest in literary studies. I'm as amazed as anybody else by the comics boom—despite the fact that I wrote an English department dissertation that makes the passionate case that we should not ignore this innovative narrative form. Yet if there's promoting of comics, there's also confusion about categories and terms. Those of us in literary studies may think the moves obvious: making claims in the name of popular culture or in the rich tradition of word-and-image inquiry (bringing us back to the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages). But comics presents problems we're still figuring out (the term doesn't settle comfortably into our grammar; nomenclature remains tricky and open to debate). The field hasn't yet grasped its object or properly posed its project. To explore today's comics we need to go beyond preestablished rubrics: we have to reexamine the categories of fiction, narrative, and historicity. Scholarship on comics—and specifically on what I will call graphic narrative—is gaining traction in the humanities. Comics might be defined as a hybrid word-and-image form in which two narrative tracks, one verbal and one visual, register temporality spatially. Comics moves forward in time through the space of the page, through its progressive counterpoint of presence and absence: packed panels (also called frames) alternating with gutters (empty space). Highly textured in its narrative scaffolding, comics doesn't blend the visual and the verbal—or use one simply to illustrate the other—but is rather prone to present the two nonsynchronously; a reader of comics not only fills in the gaps between panels but also works with the often disjunctive back-and-forth of reading and looking for meaning. Throughout this essay, I treat comics as a medium—not as a lowbrow genre, which is how it is usually understood. However, I will end by focusing attention on the strongest genre in the field: nonfiction comics.
