This study evaluated the effect of different concentrations (20, 40 and 60 mg/L) of 3-aminobenzoic acid ethyl ester methanesulfonate (MS-222) on the quality changes in turbot during simulated transport in water. The results showed that the ammonia nitrogen content in the transportation water of each sample increased significantly, and the dissolved oxygen level decreased. The dissolved oxygen content in MS-222-treated samples was higher than that of control group (CK) samples. The problem of obtaining highly soluble and biologically active drugs is actual. One of the methods for solving this problem is the inclusion of carbohydrate residues into the structure of biologically active compounds. The solution photophysics of the isomeric aminobenzoic acids and N,Ndimethylaminobenzoic acids and their methyl esters were studied under a variety of conditions of solvent, pH, concentration and temperature. The most straightforward behaviour was obtained when the amino or N,N-dimethylamino substituent was in the meta- position relative to the carboxylic add or ester function. The amino compounds absorb with a peak between 300 and 325 nm depending on solvent, their fluorescence peaks lie between 350 and 410 rim. The corresponding N,N-dimethylamino compounds usually absorb and fluoresce some 2

This thesis is concerned with the use of kinetic resolution strategies for the preparation of enantiomerically pure materials. Chapter 1 introduces kinetic resolution. The limitations of conventional kinetic resolutions are described and the methods used to overcome these limitations are discussed. Chapter 2 presents a double kinetic resolution strategy where the recovered reactant from the first kinetic resolution is used as starting material in a second kinetic resolution. In the second kinetic resolution the major enantiomer present in the starting material is the faster reacting enantiomer

Chiral alpha-branched amines are common substructures of bioactive synthetic targets such as alkaloids and amino acids. Direct asymmetric amine synthesis by addition to the C=N bond of carbonyl imino derivatives is promising and efficient to introduce the stereogenic center and carbon-carbon bond in one step. Furthermore, disconnection of either C-C bond at the amine stereogenic center would be the most versatile method to achieve this objective; we could make the choice depending on the different synthetic strategies, such as the availability of precursors and the presence of complicating str

Abstract:
Non-covalent interactions influence supramolecular organization in the solid, solution and gaseous state. While intermolecular forces are well understood individually, it is difficult to predict how their interplay will lead to a highly symmetric and low energy crystalline solid. Analysis, design, and prediction of crystalline architecture is a recently popularized sub-field of supramolecular chemistry referred to as 'crystal engineering'. Crystal engineering seeks to fully understand non-bonding intermolecular forces in order to build crystalline solids that serve some designed purpose. Hydro

A number of methods for the analysis of free amino acids in melon fruit have been evaluated experimentally. Analysis of their tBDMS derivatives by GC (gas chromatography) was found to be the most suitable for the mix of free amino acid found in the melon matrix. It affords good yields of amino acid derivatives with excellent gas chromatographic properties and characteristic mass spectra. The single-step derivatization procedure is highly reproducible and allows simultaneous analysis of asparagine and glutamine together with their corresponding acids.
