Full textIntroduction: The undergraduate student population ranges in age range typical of adolescence and youth, which often have changes in eating habits, ie, the amount, preferences and circumstances in which food is consumed , which by the nature of the study areas might relate to body weight. Objectives: Relate eating habits and body mass index in a public university students by area of study. Design: Descriptive crossassociation. Location: Faculties of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), Lima. Participants: 320 students of undergraduate men and women of the 6 areas of study UNMSM: Area A "Health Sciences", area B "Humanities", area C "Social Sciences", area D "Basic Sciences", Area E "Engineering", Area F "Economic - Business", elected on a non-probabilistic. Interventions: Application of dietary questionnaire and anthropometric measurement. Main outcome measures: Percentage of appropriate and inappropriate dietary habits and percentage of body mass index (BMI). Results: 78.1% (n = 250) of the students present proper eating habits. 62% had normal BMI, 31% overweight, 4% obesity and 3% thinness. Proper eating habits outstanding students were eating meals 3 to 5 times per day, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, breakfast and lunch hours, the place of consumption of meals, consumption of lunch and dinner in the company, frequency of consumption of local food, fish, chicken, eggs, beans and drinks during the day; while poor dietary habits were outstanding breakfast consumption alone, frequency of consumption of snacks at the snack, dinner time, frequency of consumption of milk, cheese, vegetables and salt. The relationship between eating habits and BMI was not significant ( p= 0.185). Conclusions: There was no relationship between eating habits and BMI in the total number of students participants UNMSM, relationship if found within the areas of Humanities and Economic - Business, and among female students. Full textThis research aims to find the existing correlation between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Spirituality in university students of the city of Ayacucho. We opted for a quantitative method, of correlational type transactional design. To this end, we had a sample of 195 university students from two private Ayacucho universities, of which 41% are male and 59% are female, with an age range between 18 and 38 years (m = 20.43). The Trait Meta-Mood Scale-24 Questionnaire was applied, Scale of emotional intelligence, and the Spirituality Questionnaire; both adapted to the Peruvian population. We analyzed the correlations of the dimensions of both; obtaining positive correlations between all dimensions of IE with the dimensions of Spirituality; so it is concluded that both constructs are correlated. Likewise, the analyzes carried out show that there are significant differences in the explicit assessment of spirituality according to sex; specifically women score more in this regard. It can also be highlighted that the self-awareness dimension of the Spirituality questionnaire presents the strongest correlations with the Emotional Intelligence dimensions.

Full textThe purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between eating habits and academic stress in college students. This study evaluated 174 college students, 102 women (59%) and 72 men (41%), between 16 and 24 years old (M= 18.55; SD= 1.53). The instruments used were the Venezuelan version questionnaire “Adolescent Food Habits Checklist” (AFHC-V) (Morales, Montilva, Gómez & Cordero, 2012), which was linguistically adjusted to the Peruvian context; and the SISCO Inventory of Academic Stress (Barraza, 2007). Low relationships were found between the psychological relationships dimension and the AFHC-V (r=-.15, p<.05); as well as with the fruit and vegetable consumption factor (r=-.16, p<.05). Also, between the coping dimension and the AFHC-V (r=-.16, p<.05), as with the factor avoidance of specific energy-dense foods (r=.15, p<. 05). About the academic stress, there are differences according to sex in the stressor dimensions and psychological symptoms. Correlations were reported between the indicators of academic stress with the perception of academic performance and eating habits of college students. About the eating habits, differences were reported according to sex and faculty in the factors of consumption of low amounts of fats, avoidance of specific energy-dense foods and the AFHC-V. Associations were found between the perception of eating habits and the factor avoidance of specific energy-dense foods and the AFHC-V. Also, BMI was explored in college students, finding differences according sex. Finally, the results are discussed in relation to what the literature indicates, as well as the methodological difficulties of measuring eating habits.

Full textThis thesis seeks to describe the relationship between social bonds with their peers and their own permanence in school as identified by the provincial students of the Beca Vocación de Maestro (Teacher Vocational Scholarship) in a private university at Lima, Peru. Its theoretical frame comes from the line of research dealing with the students’ culture, which is included in turn within the line of educational institution culture. The diverse links between pairs constructed by the students are identified, as well as the predictive factors of permanence in school for the studied population. This research has a phenomenological character. The instrument used to gather information is a semi-structured interview script about experiences and evaluations of the students. The information has been manually coded and categorized. The research finds that the relationships that scholarshipholding students from provinces forge constitute one of their main ways of mutual support to face life on their own and to stay firm in higher education.

Full textThe present study adapted and validated the Caregiver Eating Messages Scale (CEMS) in a sample of 415 university students aged 16 to 24 years (M=19.19; DE=2.08). The CEMS measures the amount and type of negative eating messages received during childhood by parents and peers. The scale was translated, reviewed by expert judges, piloted and then applied to the sample. A factorial analysis was carried out using Principal axis factoring and varimax rotation. This analysis yielded two factors that share 51% of the variance: Restrictive (MR) and Pressure to eat messages (MO). In addition, satisfactory internal consistency reliability was demonstrated for both areas (α = .84 for MR and α = .82 for MO). Likewise, adequate evidence of discriminant validity was obtained. Significant correlations were found between MR and IES-2 (r = -31), EAT-26 (r = .23) and BAS (r = -30). For MO only significant correlations were found with IES-2’s subscale Reliance on internal hunger and satiety cues (r = .12). Finally, good evidence of concurrent criterion validity was found. MR scores were able to discriminate participants according to BMI and the report of eating disorders. In conclusion, the Spanish version of the CEMS presents good psychometric properties; therefore, it can be used in future investigations with university students.

Full textThe present investigation had as main objective to relate and describe the levels of academic stress and time management of a group of university students in the first cycles of faculty. As instruments, the inventory of academic stress SISCO (Barraza , 2007) and the Spanish version of the Time Management Scale (TMBQ , García -Ros and Perez - Gonzalez, 2012) were used. Following the application, the relevant statistical analyzes were performed. Beginning with the relationship between both variables, setting goals and priorities correlates positively with coping and negatively with psychological and behavioral reactions. Similar behavior was found with time control perception. Preferences for disorganization have negative relationship both in coping and the three types of reactions. Finally, significant differences were found in terms of gender, repetition, perception of performance, number of hours of studying and presence of physical and mental diseases.

Full textOBJECTIVE: To compare the level of knowledge and practices about sexuality in college students of the first and fifth semester of the Academic Professional School of Obstetrics during the period of April 2014. METHODOLOGY: The study is observational, descriptive, comparative, prospective, cross-sectional, we had students of 1st semester (n = 90) and 5th semester (n = 55) of the EAP obstetric at National University of San Marcos during 2014. For qualitative variables, were estimated absolute and relative frequencies. In the case of quantitative variables were estimated: measures of central tendency, dispersion measures mean and range. For the inferential analysis Student's T test was used for independent samples and Chi square test of independence. The analysis was performed using SPSS version 21. RESULTS: The average age of students in the first semester is 18.76 years and fifth semester is 20.89 years. The level of knowledge about concepts of sexuality in Obstetric students of the first semester was "Middle" (57.8%) and "High" (37.8%) and the level of knowledge of the students fifth semester was "High" (54.5 %) and "Middle" (45.5%) (p=0.061). 74.4% of students in of the first semester obstetrics had a level of knowledge "Middle" about reproductivity and 16.7% had a "High" while students of the fifth semester of obstetrics had a " Middle" (49.1%) and 45.5% had a "High" level (p=0.001). As for knowledge about genetic sex and gender, the students of obstetrics of the first semester had a level of knowledge "Medium" (62.2%) and "High" (33.3%) in contrast of the fifth semester students had a "High" (56.4%) and "Middle"(41.8%) (p=0.022). The level of knowledge about sexuality in general of obstetrics students of the first semester was "Medium" (60%) and "High" (24.4%) while the students fifth semester, the 47.3% level of knowledge was "Middle "(47.3%) and" High "(41.8%) (p=0.088). Respect to the practice, 16.7% of students in the first semester and 30.9% of the fifth semester students start their sex frequencies observed statistically significant (p=0.045). The contraceptive method used by students in the first semester was the pill 80% in contrast to the fifth semester students who do not use "any" form of contraception (52.9%) (p=0.055). CONCLUSIONS: The level of knowledge about sexuality in college students of the first and fifth semester of the Academic Professional School of Midwifery was "Medium" (60% and 47.3% respectively), showing some relationship between knowledge of concepts of sexuality (p=0.06), reproducibility (p=0.001), gender and genetic sex (p=0.022) with the semester of study. 16.7% of students in the first semester and 30.9% of the fifth semester students began their sexual life (p=0.045), the contraceptive pill being the most used method for first semester students regarding students fifth semester using no method (p=0.055). Full textThis research aims to investigate the Tolerance and Stress Control in a group of peruvian university students that report regular cannabis use. The characteristics of marihuana consumption were evaluated and, through the Rorschach inkblot test, user’s ability to cope with sources of tension, in contrast to a comparative group of non-users. Contrasts with the Mann Whitney U statistic revealed a higher D score in the study group, which, when linked to the elevation of less modulated affective expressions (CF + C), loses functionality. Marihuana use was associated with higher indicators of emotional distress, greater affective and interpersonal distance, and difficulty in handling complex situations, all of which was replicated in comparative analyzes within the study group. Difficulties with regard to affectivity and interpersonal relationships undermine the effectiveness of resources and point to a fragile psychological organization in which cannabis consumption functions as a way to cope with unpleasant affective states, feelings of social inadequacy and the perception of little self-agency. We discussed the importance of taking into account the subjective experience of users and the functions of consumption, while recognizing the high emotional cost of maintaining that lifestyle. These results are useful to structure prevention and intervention programs that contribute to empower the subject and provide regulatory and coping strategies to deal with sources of tension.

Full textDetermina la relación y conexión entre el nivel de conocimientos sobre la democracia y las actitudes hacia el sistema democrático (reacciones favorables o desfavorables hacia algo o alguien; que se manifiestan a través de creencias, sentimientos y conductas proyectadas) en los estudiantes universitarios de la especialidad de Historia y Geografía de la Facultad de Educación de la UNMSM durante el año 2012. Se ha elegido como población a 218 estudiantes de la especialidad de Historia y Geografía matriculados en el periodo 2012 – 2, de los cuales se escoge como muestra a 61 estudiantes regulares de la misma especialidad, matriculados en el mismo periodo académico. La metodología consiste en obtener información mediante instrumentos como la Escala Likert, y una prueba de conocimientos sobre la democracia. A partir de la información que se obtiene se relacionaron las variables para establecer su influencia y determinar su nivel de significancia con la ayuda del Sistema SPSS.

Full textUniversity students are vulnerable to negative emotional states, for example stress. This is a stage of life where certain habits like eating are compromised. Keeping in mind that there are high levels of obesity in Peruvian young adults, food cravings can be contributing to those levels. Food cravings has been linked to other negative consequences like food addiction, binge eating and bulimia. Thereby, this research aimed to analyze the relationship between the factors of mindfulness and food cravings and their subsequent attributes in 405 university students, 51,6% males and 48,4% females, from 16 to 22 years old (M=18.03, D.E=1.20). Spearman and comparisons of means where assessed. The findings showed that higher levels of some of the mindfulness facets are associated with lower levels of food cravings. However, the study found unexpected relations and none relations between some other facets of mindfulness and food cravings. Also, an unexpected association was found between the Observing facet and food cravings. Furthermore, the relations between food cravings and mindfulness changed depending on the sex of the participants. The findings of this research suggest that mindfulness intervention programs may be beneficial to individuals that tend to experience food cravings

Full textEstablece la relación existente entre las variables que son práctica físico deportiva y el desarrollo integral de los estudiantes del IX semestre de la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) en el 2015. Los resultados encontrados luego de aplicar los instrumentos de recolección de datos para cada variable son los siguientes. Al aplicar la fórmula de correlación de Spearman con un nivel de significancia del 5%, se halla un coeficiente de correlación significativo moderado de Rho = 0.446 y la significancia de P = 0,000. Se determina que ante una moderada práctica físico deportiva de los estudiantes del IX semestre de la Facultad de Educación de la UNMSM, se produce moderado desarrollo integral y se halla un bajo coeficiente de correlación significativo de Rho = 0.388. Se establece que a bajo desarrollo integral de la población estudiada se da bajo desarrollo de la dimensión afiliación. Por otro lado en cuanto a la relación de la dimensión desarrollo integral y dimensión social se halla una correlación significativa baja de Rho = 0,381. Para la tercera hipótesis específica se halla un coeficiente de correlación de significancia moderada, Rho = 0,401. Se determina que a moderado desarrollo integral de los estudiantes se desarrolla moderada dimensión competición. Y en último lugar, la cuarta hipótesis específica de correlación moderada, Rho = 0,400, por lo tanto se establece un nivel de correlación significativa moderada. Determinándose que ha moderado desarrollo integral de los estudiantes se produce moderada dimensión habilidad coordinativa.

Full textThis research refers to the issue of the quality of support services direct at postgraduate students of a private University in the city of Lima, Peru. The main objective of this study is to carry out a diagnosis and a proposal to improve the quality of support services direct at postgraduate students of a private university in Lima. To this purpose, the research question is what measures can be taken to improve the quality of support services that the University provides to postgraduate students? Regarding the methodology, it is a qualitative study. A survey was applied to postgraduate degree and students of diploma enrolled in the 2019-2 semester. The sample consisted of 91 participants. The survey was divided into four sections and 33 items, where the support services of which graduate students are users were evaluated, the frequency in the use of some of these services, the level of overall satisfaction with respect to the services of support and additional support services required by postgraduate students. It is concluded that the level of satisfaction of most postgraduate students of a private university in Lima with respect to the quality of university support services is satisfactory, the majority of graduate students currently prefer digital access channels. The improvement proposal is based mainly on directing the attention of queries and procedures to digital platforms; restructure class schedules, modify the form of payment of academic fees and restructure classrooms and computer lab for postgraduate students.

Full textAdapta psicométricamente la Escala de Satisfacción Familiar (FSS) en una muestra de 607 estudiantes de una universidad privada en Lima Metropolitana, cuyas edades oscilan entre 16 a 28 años (M = 19.8, DE=3.1). Se realiza la adaptación lingüística, encontrando equivalencia, el desarrollo de evidencias de validez basadas en el contenido ajaron niveles óptimos (V = .93 a V =1.00). Full textBackground: Current, in Lima, we can find various social issues related to gender roles and gender itself, which can be understood under a binomial perspective (male-female) or cross-identifications. The gender role conflict, construct created by James O'Neil, refers to the psychological state in which gender roles have negative consequences for oneself and others. The aim has been to adapt the scale of this construct, Gender Role Conflict Scale, to a university population in Lima, confirming its psychometric properties in the same population. Method: The sample consisted of 210 male students with an average age of 19.1 years. Results: The composition of the scale showed the original four factors, generally maintaining the original structure. Both globally and by factor, the scale showed acceptable reliability, between .84 and .86 depending of the factor; as well as a good convergent validity. Conclusions: This adapted instrument can be used to evaluate gender role conflict in university men from Lima.

Se realiza la adaptación lingüística, encontrando equivalencia, el desarrollo de evidencias de validez basadas en el contenido ajaron niveles óptimos (V = .93 a V =1.00). Full textIn Jean Piaget's theory of cognitive development, combinatorial operations emerge at the onset of formal operational thought and refer to the logical capacity of people for conceiving and organizing systematically all possibilities and dimensions that can interact as elements or causes of a complex problem. Because this development should already occur during basic education and since it is essential for higher education, the objective of this study was to evaluate this combinatorial capacity in a group of students from a private university in Lima. Assuming the critical method of Jean Piaget, twelve university freshmen (six women and six men) aged between 16 and 20 years, participated in solving six tasks with combinatorial structure that were taken from Piaget's research and other papers on the subject. The results show that most students properly resolved the proposed problems, although some exhibited a number of difficulties and others could not solve several tasks. The analysis and explanation of these variations in performance was carried out from a systemic and coordinated approach of the most important concepts of Piaget's theory and considering the importance of combinatorial capacity for cognitive development and scientific thought in higher education. Full textThe aim of this study was to assess the influence of sense of coherence and health behaviors in perceived mental and physical health in universities students. The sample was composed of 448 students between 18 and 29 years of age (M = 23.1 years old, SD = 1.95), 58% were males and 42 % females from different academic programs. Linear regression models were assessed for mental and physical health. Results showed that sense f coherence, sex, use of spare time and sleep influenced mental health. Meanwhile, physical health was influenced by sense of coherence, use of spare time, physical activity, sleep, sex and diet. Both psychological and behavioral factors influence mental and physical health. Moreover, coping mechanisms such as sense of coherence are very important for health especially mental health. Gender proved to be an important variable in these models and demonstrated that there is a difference between perceived mental and physical health in men and women. The use of spare time revealed to be the most influential behavior in both models and sleep demonstrated to also have an important influence in health. One hypothesis for these findings is that college students might tend to focus these activities as a source of physical health while not thinking on mental health. Full textYoung college students are a population exposed to high levels of stress and negative feelings due to the high academic demand of this period. The anxiety over food is a contemporary characteristic that usually rises during periods of high demands of stress, increasing the possibility of disorders in the eating behavior, diabetes, becoming overweight and obesity. For this reason, the present study focused on analyzing the relationship between anxiety for food and emotional regulation on one hand; and on the other, the relationship between anxiety for food and affectivity. For this purpose, a sample size of 432 students were evaluated through a series of instruments: FCQ-T (food craving), ERQ-P (Emotional Regulation) and I-Spanas-SF (affectivity).. An analysis of bivariate correlations was carried out using the Pearson’s r coefficient to determine the relationship between the different test points. It was found that under higher levels of negative affectivity there is a higher presence of food related anxiety. Likewise, it was found that under lower presence of positive affectivity there is a higher presence of uncontrolled behaviors towards food. With regards to the emotional regulation it was found that a higher use of the cognitive reassessment strategies is related to higher levels of hedonic nutrition. Lastly, it was found that the strategy of emotional suppression is related to anxious behaviors towards food. Moreover, it was found that women have a higher predisposition to anxious behaviors over food.

Full textEl espacio público virtual tiende a articularse como una extensión de la esfera pública contemporánea. Sin embargo, este es un proceso que no se está desarrollando horizontalmente a nivel global, hay países que, como Perú, se identifican por la mediación predominante de los medios de comunicación tradicionales, como consecuencia de la brecha digital, según la cual aproximadamente la mitad de la población todavía no está conectada. Este estudio presenta los resultados de una encuesta a 720 estudiantes universitarios en Perú, y nuestro interés radica en describir aspectos como la relación entre la confianza y el consumo de medios digitales en este país; las principales características exigidas de un sitio web informativo; los mecanismos de interacción más utilizados; y, en última instancia, cómo un grupo tan relevante para la democracia peruana, como los jóvenes universitarios, tiende a canalizar su participación y experiencia en línea.

Full textRelationships represent a fundamental area in social and emotional development; therefore, it is relevant to identify risk factors of maladaptive patterns that can become unhealthy or even violent relationships. This research aims to describe the relationship between emotional dependence and adult attachment in romantic relationships. 388 Metropolitan Lima university students between 18 and 25 years old (M = 21.46, SD = 2.06) participated in this study. Emotional dependence was assessed through the Emotional Dependency Questionnaire (Lemos and Londoño, 2006); for attachment, two instruments were used: The Relationship Questionnaire (Schmitt et. al, 2004) provided the models of self and others, while the dimensions of anxiety and avoidance were obtained from the Experience in Close Relationships - Revised (Noblega) were obtained. et. al, 2018). The objective was analyzed in three approaches that allowed comparing emotional dependence between secure and insecure attachment styles, then specifically between each style and finally the relationship with attachment dimensions and models. Likewise, dependence and attachment were reviewed according to the sociodemographic variables of sex, age and sentimental situation. A relationship was found between emotional dependence and attachment, depending on the models and dimensions. Differences were found according to sex and between people with and without current partners, men being more avoidant but more emotionally dependent, as well as people without partners; also, significant negative correlations of dependence and attachment dimensions with age.

Full text-- This research “Transformational Leadership Profile Students and Teachers in Nursing Practice of San Marcos University in the opinion of students EAPE of San Marcos University in 2011” had as its objective: To determine the profile of transformational leadership in students and Nursing faculty practice of San Marcos University in the opinion of student EAPE of San Marcos University. Is quantitative, application level, simple descriptive method and cross section. For the gathering of data was used as the survey technique and applied a modified Likert scale to 195 students in first through fifth years of study nursing at San Marcos University. After analyzing the results reached the following conclusions: The transformational leadership profile of teachers in nursing practice in the opinion of students is most favorable 49% (95 students) but significant weaknesses are evident in certain dimensions such as intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration where the percentages of opinion favorable profile of transformational leadership on teachers practice does not exceed 50% (46% and 47% respectively). In the case of transformational leadership profile of nursing students according to their opinion, it is evident that 53% (104 students) said that the transformational leadership profile of students in the Nursing is favorable. These results show that there are still weaknesses at the level of teaching and training students, the approach to be important strategies for improvement towards a teaching nursing student training transformational leaders. -- Keywords: Transformational Leadership, Nursing faculty, nursing students.

Full textLeadership considered as a necessary element for the professional exercise of nursing, presents frequent contradictory situations: on the one hand, high expectations for the nursing professionals to act as leaders, and on the other hand, a formation system and characteristics of the applicants to the profession that do not seem to be the ideal to produce strong leadership. Starting from two basic premises: that leadership is not necessarily an innate condition in individuals and therefore, to form leaders, is above all an educational mission, and that a leader is fundamentally an observer that should know himself before trying to get to know others (to be a leader of others he must first have to know how to lead himself). In the present study of a comparative application-analytic type, of quantitative focus, the most important characteristics of personal and interpersonal leadership are identified in nursing students and teachers from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) [San Marcos National University] and the main facilitating and/or restrictive factors (STRENGTHS and WEAKNESS) for the development of their professional duties are determined.

En el caso del Comedor Universitario, la investigación se ha realizado en el comedor de Ciudad Universitaria por ser el que concentra un mayor número de comensales y en relación a la vivienda se ha estudiado ambas residencias; Ciudad Universitaria y Julio C. Tello, ubicada en la Av. Grau. Las razones que han determinado la elección del periodo de tiempo se debe a que durante el mismo se evidenciaron con mayor fuerza los problemas relacionados con Bienestar Universitario. Principalmente con este trabajo se da a conocer la forma cómo la UNMSM ha respondido a las demandas de los estudiantes que hacen uso de estos derechos entre los años 2000-2008, poniendo en evidencia que el bienestar universitario no ha sido una prioridad para la universidad y mucho menos el bienestar estudiantil, hecho que lleva a reflexionar con urgencia la necesidad de establecer las bases de una verdadera política de bienestar en beneficio de la comunidad universitaria.

Full textDetermina la relación entre la frecuencia y horarios de ingesta de comidas diarias con el porcentaje de grasa corporal en estudiantes preuniversitarios. Desarrolla un estudio descriptivo transversal y de asociación cruzada. La población de estudio está compuesta de 800 estudiantes preuniversitarios y la muestra por 102 estudiantes que cumplieron con los criterios de elegibilidad. Para determinar la frecuencia y horarios de ingesta de comidas diarias se aplicó una encuesta de frecuencia y horarios de ingesta de comidas diaria; para el cálculo del porcentaje de grasa corporal se requirió el peso de cada participante y la sumatoria de 4 pliegues cutáneos. Encuentra que más del 60% de los estudiantes tienen sobrepeso y son en su mayoría del sexo femenino, del total de los estudiantes con sobrepeso más del 70% ingieren alimentos de 3 a 4 veces al día y en horarios adecuados. No se encontró relación significativa entre las variables frecuencia de comidas con el porcentaje de grasa corporal ni entre los horarios de ingesta de comidas principales con el porcentaje de grasa corporal. Concluye que la frecuencia y horarios de ingesta de comidas diarias no estuvieron asociados con el porcentaje de grasa corporal, es decir dichas variables son independientes para este estudio.

Full textThe purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between the style of attachment and perfectionism in young university students in Lima. A correlation design was used that considered measurement tests and analysis of correlations between the dimensions under study. The sample consisted of 153 young people (52% men and 48% women) from a private university between 18 and 26 years old. For the measurement of the variables, the reduced version of the Cartes questionnaire, Modèles Individuels de Relation (CAMIR-R) and the Multidimensional Perfectionism scale (MPS) was used. The results confirm a significant relationship between the dimensions of attachment and perfectionism, which is associated in a negative way with secure attachment, and positive with the worried, avoidant and disorganized.

Full textThe objective of the study was to identify the relationships between the type of aspirations in the academic context (intrinsic or extrinsic), the type of motivation (autonomous or controlled), academic achievement and psychological well-being in psychology students from Lima. In addition, the study aimed to identify whether aspirations and motivation could predict academic achievement and psychological well-being. The Aspiration Index 12 items (Duriez, et al., 2007), The Academic Motivation Scale (Vallerand, et al., 1993 adapted by Matos, 2010), The Life Satisfaction Scale (SWLS, Diener, et al., 1985) and CES-D (Radloff, 1977) were used to measure the studied variables. The participants were 101 students from the last year of psychology from a private university. Analysis of validity and reliability of the instruments, correlations and multiple regressions analysis were performed. The results show that autonomous motivation is a positive predictor of academic achievement and life satisfaction. In addition, controlled motivation is a negatively predictor of life satisfaction and a positive predictor of depressive symptoms. A positive and significant relation was found between autonomous motivation and intrinsic aspirations, life satisfaction and academic achievement. In addition, it was found that controlled motivation has a positive relation with extrinsic aspirations and depressive symptoms. Also, it was found that depressive symptoms were negatively related with life satisfaction.

Full textThe Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) makes available to its admitted young people, different types of economic support that allows them to begin their education in some of the undergraduate careers that it offers until its satisfactory completion; however, not all the students that require it come to request these aids. Based on the fundamentals of the main financing models of education, in reports from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in the review of the costs that a university student must face in the main private universities of Peru, and in the willingness of the students with some economic need to resort to a financing that facilitates the continuation of their studies; the present research work exposes how the different types of economic support can be integrated into an institutional program that facilitates the evaluation of request these aids, in order to optimize the use of resources. Thereby, from the analysis of the allocation processes of the degrees of the Pension Scale, educational credit and scholarships, highlighting their strengths and identifying opportunities for improvement, a new program is proposed that facilitates the effective use of information, traceability of associated activities, mitigate financial risk and prevent the delay, suspension or desertion of undergraduate studies for economic reasons, thus improving the academic indicators of the institution.
