The EuroSea project is improving the coordination of the European ocean observing and forecasting system to strengthen its capability of tacking the societal challenges related to ocean health, climate change, mitigation of ocean-related natural hazards, and the sustainable exploitation of marine ecosystem services in the Blue Economy. The scientific excellence of the project is based on its better integration, assimilation, coordination and governance of methods, practices, and instruments to collect fit-for-purpose ocean data and the development of innovative tools and solutions to manage so

Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly being integrated into people’s lives, reshaping industries, and enabling previously unimagined innovation, even in agriculture. Generative AI focuses on creating content like text and pictures based on vast quantities of data. ExtensionBot is a generative AI platform that supports agricultural extension by providing farmers with accurate scientific information and specific recommendations. It has been shown to deliver more accurate responses to agricultural questions than broader generative AI models. Other forms of AI have been used to analyze data to p

Abstract:
In an era of global challenges, leaders face a landscape characterized by what scholars term "polycrisis1" – a convergence of multiple, interconnected crises that amplify each other'simpacts. While the concept of polycrisis is gaining recognition, our study revealed a significant gap. No substantial body of literature currently addresses leadership in the midst of polycrisis. This absence underscores the novelty and importance of our study. To bridge this gap, we turned to the concepts of "grand challenges" and "wicked problems," which share many characteristics with polycrisis and have more e

Abstract:
This paper analyzes gender and ethnic wage gaps in Guatemala for the period 2000-2006, applying a matching comparisons technique, finding pronounced wage gaps along both gender and ethnic dimensions, the latter being greater. Wage gaps in Guatemala are partially explained by differences in human capital characteristics, especially education, between indigenous and non-indigenous and males and females, which calls for equalization of educational opportunities for the population. However, wage gaps are greater than differences in education would predict, which suggests the need for interventions

Abstract:
The definition and understanding of community-centered preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) research lacks analytical clarity. This chapter examines this concept with a focus on the Southeast Asian context, reflecting on opportunities, challenges, and pitfalls, to lay the foundation for future theorization and comparative P/CVE research in local contexts. Collaboration with independent and genuine community actors is advantageous for all stakeholders, since deficient trust, tamed and crystallized relationships, and a lack of resources and capacities can result in biased research
