The auxin and ethylene pathways cooperatively regulate a variety of developmental processes in plants. Growth responses to ethylene are largely dependent on auxin, the key regulator of plant morphogenesis. Auxin, in turn, is capable of inducing ethylene biosynthesis and signaling, making the interaction of these hormones reciprocal. Recent studies discovered a number of molecular events underlying auxin-ethylene crosstalk. In this review, we summarize the results of fine-scale and large-scale experiments on the interactions between the auxin and ethylene pathways in Arabidopsis. We integrate k

Abstract The scope of this paper is to review peroxide curing of ethylene-propylene elastomers, where apart from crosslinking, other reactions occur, such as chain scission, which account for the drop in physical properties. The results are compared with an alternative crosslinking system which is being assessed in our laboratory. With the new curing agent the chain-scission reaction is not present and the physical properties of the vulcanizates are improved. The effects of the different crosslinking systems on the reaction transitions are studied with the aid of dynamic mechanical analysis.

Abstract:
Abstract Ethylene oxide gas is commonly used to sterilize medical devices, and concerns about using this agent on biological systems are well-established. Medical devices sterilized by ethylene oxide must be properly aerated to remove residual gas and by-products. In this work, kinetics of ethylene oxide desorption from different sterilized materials were studied in a range of aeration temperatures. The experimental data were well-described by a Fickian diffusion mass transfer behavior, and diffusivities were estimated for two textile and two polymeric materials within the temperature range of

Abstract Fungal cell-wall lysing enzymes have been shown to induce ethylene production in different plant systems. The effect of endogenous plant cell-wall lysing enzymes on ethylene synthesis in fruit has received only limited attention. Therefore, tomato fruit (Lycopersicon esculentum, Mill.) were vacuum–infiltrated with the tomato cell-wall enzymes, polygalacturonase I and II (PG I, PG II) and pectinmethylesterase (PME). Fruit ethylene levels were observed to increase relative to either salt, buffer, or boiled enzyme controls. This increase in ethylene production occurred in green ‘Cherry’

Promising technologies for a one-stage production of propylene from ethylene were considered. The basic types of catalysis systems used as heterogeneous catalysts for the one-stage production of propylene from ethylene were presented. These are zeolites, silicoaluminophosphates, mesoporous molecular sieves, nickel-, tungsten-, molybdenum- and rhenium-containing catalysts.

Abstract:
Key properties of silicate glasses are highlighted including the capability of stabilizing disperse Pd nanoparticles in the bulk of glass fibers (GF), high solubility of acetylene and hydrogen, as well as their high mobility. These properties provide the high activity and selectivity of Pd/GF catalysts to hydrogenation of acetylene in excess ethylene over a wide range of acetylene conversions up to its complete one. For a wide variety of mono-, bimetallic systems including catalysts with single palladium atoms, TOF was established to depend only slightly on the palladium dispersion and support

UV–VIS spectroscopy analysis of six mixtures containing choline chloride or triphenylmethylphosphonium bromide as the hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) and different hydrogen bond donors (HBDs, nickel sulphate, imidazole, d-glucose, ethylene glycol, and glycerol) allowed to determine the indirect and direct band-gap energies through the Tauc plot method. Band-gap energies were compared to those relative to known choline chloride-containing deep band-gap systems. The measurements reported here confirmed the tendency of alcohols or Lewis acids to increment band-gap energy when employed as HBDs. Indir

Presented are the liquid-liquid (L-L) equilibrium data for three-component heterogeneous systems toluene-N-methylpyrrolidone-ethylene glycol, heptane-N-methylpyrrolidone-ethylene glycol and heptane-toluene-ethylene glycol at 50 °C. Equations for the excess Gibbs energy (NRTL. Novák modification of Wilson equation and Redlich-Kister 4th order expansion) extended by ternary universal contribution were employed for correlating the L-L equilibrium data. The binary equation parameters were independently evaluated from the binary equilibrium data. The presented ternary data served for evaluation of
