Abstract:
Until recently, legal ethnography has been understood as an integral part of legal anthropology and its studies of law in particular societies and cultures. In some older national traditions of European legal ethnology, including the Czech tradition, it has been considered a legal rather than a social science. Recent shifts in the perception of ethnography, which is increasingly understood as an autonomous methodology or a technology of knowledge production, are an opportunity to re-think the specific position of legal ethnography. This paper therefore explores the difference between ethnography as it is understood in the anthropology of law and the new relationship of “law and ethnography” as two autonomous variables. On the basis of several recent legal-ethnographic studies, it also seeks to identify the persistent common denominators of both approaches and attempts to show their possible contribution to the traditional methodology of legal research.

Abstract:
Pražská skupina školní etnografie (PSŠE), která působí na katedře pedagogické a školní psychologie pražské Pedagogické fakulty, vznikla koncem roku 1990. Byla to doba silně protransformačního ideologického klimatu ve školství, kdy heslem byla změna školy. Lidi, kteří vytvořili PSŠE, spojovalo oproti tomu spíše přesvědčení, že se toto volání po změně neopírá o dostatečné vědecké poznání školy, protože dosavadní empirické výzkumy jsou nedostatečné. Oprávněnost tohoto přesvědčení lze zpětně argumentovat opakovanými výtkami, které padají na adresu výzkumu české školy od jiných autorů až dodnes.

Příspěvek popisuje vznik vícedruhové etnografie jako formy znásobení zkušeností a popisů za hranicemi lidského druhu. Navzdory tomu, že definice vícedruhovosti je poměrně nedávná, autor v článku tvrdí, že zájem o začlenění jiných než lidských bytostí do etnografického úsilí se datuje již od počátku disciplíny. Příkladem tohoto zájmu je text The American Beaver and His Works (Americký bobr a jeho práce) napsaný roku 1868 Henrym Morganem, v němž autor tato zvířata účinně zařazuje do své etnografie. Článek pojednává o tom, že vícedruhový přístup může podpořit předefinování hlavních rysů etnografického výzkumu.

In questo articolo propongo una lettura degli studi sui paesaggi sonori lungo tre piani: la rilevanza del paesaggio sonoro in ambito storico, le trasformazioni dei paesaggi sonori nel Novecento, il paesaggio sonoro delle sub-culture musicali professionali. A partire dagli studi di R.M. Schafer (1977) e S. Feld (2009) mostro come gli studi sui paesaggi sonori siano stati portati avanti per comprendere la rilevanza istituzionale e politica del suono. Inoltre, cerco di mostrare le trasformazioni del paesaggio sonoro in relazione ai più vasti cambiamenti sociali, economici e tecnologici del Novecento. Infine, mostro come la città può rappresentare un contesto favorevole alla produzione e alla circolazione di forme culturali nuove e emblematiche dell’ambiente sonoro di una città.

In dit artikel wordt de stelling verdedigd dat de antropologie van het christendom zonder theologische reflectie niet tot een volledige etnografie kan komen. Deze stelling wordt ontwikkeld aan de hand van een bespreking van het boek van Katrien Pype, The Making of the Pentecostal Melodrama. Religion, Media and Gender in Kinshasa. Na een kort overzicht van de inhoud, worden vier beperkingen van Pype’s benadering genoemd. Op deze vier punten is samenwerking tussen antropologie en systematische theologie gewenst en in één van de gevallen zelfs noodzakelijk, aldus de auteur. Naast het belang van de theologie voor deze tak van antropologie wordt ook aandacht besteed aan de wijze waarop antropologie, met name etnografie, de systematische theologie verder kan helpen.

- The paper suggests some methodological considerations which, on the basis of a recent research on a medium enterprise in Italy, point out the reflexive and evaluative potential of the ethnographic approach to organizational analysis. The experience of reflexivity is not a spontaneous phenomenon. It represents the intentional effect of the debate among the actors about the report produced by the researcher. Thus it's possible to stimulate the reflexivity of actors also through more or less structured ways of debating a research in which they're implied. From this point of view driven reflexivity is, de facto, a practice of (self) evaluation in so far as the expositive modalities of the results of research which have to get strong narrative and descriptive features are able to involve actors and foster their interest and commitment to reflect and learn starting from the discussion of the interpretations (proposed by the researcher) of their practices. Key words: ethnography, organizational ethnography, qualitative research, reflexivity, narration (self)evaluation.

Článek se zaměřuje na metodologické aspekty výzkumu dětí a výzkumu s dětmi a ilustruje je na českých i zahraničních výzkumech. Nové přístupy zdůrazňují pojetí dítěte jako kompetentního, autonomního a rovnocenného partnera ve výzkumu. Sociologický výzkum ze své podstaty je však něčím, co z dítěte nutně dělá objekt a uplatňuje na něj kategorie vlastní disciplíny, jakkoli usiluje o vyzdvižení perspektivy dětské. Nicméně je legitimní a v nových studiích dětství žádoucí překonávat paternalistický přístup. K tomu je však nutné velmi pečlivé přezkoumávání vlastních východisek, a to jak teoreticko-metodologických, vyplývajících z disciplíny, ve které se výzkumník/ice pohybuje, tak těch, vyplývajících z pozice dospělého. Hlavní argument článku spočívá v tezi, že ve výzkumu dětí lze uplatnit nejrůznější techniky sběru dat od dotazníku, přes individuální a skupinový rozhovor až po různé kreativní techniky jako je kreslení, drama apod. Pokud má však výzkum ambici zdůraznit roli dítěte jako aktéra a chce uplatňovat jeho perspektivu, je třeba trávit maximum času s dětmi přímo v terénu, pro což se velmi hodí etnografický výzkumný design.

The authors present some aspects of the activity carried out by the Department and the Seminar of Ethnography and Folklore, in the context of celebrating nine decades since the inauguration. Setting up the Department was decided by the Commission for organizing the University of Cluj, but implementation of this decision was delayed by the lack of a material base (library, photograph library and film slide library), the lack of suitable space for seminar works, and not least because of titular’s absence. The authors further present the activity of the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania to create the material base, of the Romanian Ethnographic Society for research and exploitation of popular culture, and G. Vâlsan’s activity to train specialists. Finally, we presented courses held within the Department and the work done in the Seminar, indicating themes of the papers presented by students.

Bu alışmanın konusu nitel bir araştırma deseni olan etnografi ile ilgilidir. Alan yazında etnografi olarak kullanılan bu çalışma deseni Türkçe’de “kültür analizi” olarak ifade edilebilmektedir. Bireyler ya da toplumsal grupların kültürlerini inceleyen bu betimsel tür, kültürün insanların toplumsal davranışları üzerindeki etkisine odaklanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada etnografi araştırma deseni üzerine literatür taramasına dayalı betimsel bir tarama yapılmıştır. Araştırmada etnografinin ne ifade ettiği, nasıl bir araştırma deseni olduğu, etnografik çalışmaların avantaj ve dezavantajlarının neler olabileceği hakkında ayrıntılı bir inceleme yapılarak bilgi verilmiştir. Etnografi, kültür ve toplum çalışmalarında, eğitim bilimleri, sağlık ve klinik çalışmalarında tercih edilen bir araştırma desenidir. Etnografi yorumlayıcı paradigmaya dayalı olmakla birlikte anlama, yorumlama, öğrenme ve keşfetme amaçlarını taşımaktadır. Bu bakımdan etnografik çalışmalar, bir topluluk ya da kültüre dair sosyal anlamlar, kültürel ilişkiler ve yaşam tarzının anlaşılması ve yorumlanmasında tercih edilebilmektedir. Çalışmada etnografi, bir veri toplama yöntemi ya da aracı değil, bir araştırma deseni olarak sunulmuştur. İnsan topluluklarına ait kültürü betimlemeyi amaçlayan bu araştırma deseninin tarihsel kökeni kültürel antropolojiye dayanmaktadır. Etnografik çalışmalar ötekileştirilen ve yabancılaştırılan bazı sosyal grupların keşfedilmeyen yönlerini ortaya çıkarabilmekte, alan yazına yeni, çeşitli ve farklı bulgular yansıtabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada etnografinin kavramsal, uygulama yönleri hakkında bilgiler verilerek alan yazına destek ve katkı sunmak amaçlanmıştır.

Tulisan ini adalah ulasan sebuah novel etnografi dengan judul ‘Menggambar Bintang: Kisah Anak Suku Asmat’ yang ditulis oleh Dewi Linggasari (2020). Novel etnografi ini adalah salah satu cara Linggasari untuk merekam tradisi dan pola kehidupan masyarakat Asmat, juga perjuangan dalam usaha menggambar bintang – menempuh pendidikan. Tujuan utama penulisan ulasan ini, perlu diingat, bukan untuk mengkritik ataupun mengkaji konflik yang Linggasari anggap kerap atau berulang terjadi di kehidupan suku Asmat, melainkan untuk mengulas dan menganalisis posisi seorang etnografer dalam penulisan etnografi fiksi yang dirasa berpotensi untuk menjangkau pembaca non-etnografer yang lebih luas. Hal ini juga dapat mengacu pada potensi sebuah novel etnografi untuk mengedukasi masyarakat umum untuk menyadari isu yang ada di masyarakat sejak masih usia belia. Dengan tujuan tersebut maka ulasan ini akan dimulai dengan penjelasan mengenai definisi dan tujuan umum etnografi juga etnografi fiksi, setelah itu akan dilanjutkan dengan pembahasan isi dari novel etnografi oleh Linggasari, akhirnya akan ditutup dengan analisa akan novel tersebut.

Il lavoro muove dall'analisi della letteratura transnazionale relativa alle collettività nordafricane in Italia per poi approfondire, tramite l'utilizzo di banche dati pubbliche e private, le caratteristiche del flusso migratorio egiziano e tunisino, risultati centrali per comprendere il posizionamento della ricerca nei confronti delle diverse collettività straniere. L'articolo delinea così le peculiarità dell'applicazione empirica della prospettiva transnazionale nel contesto italiano. Emergono i limiti materiali propri della produzione del sapere, con importanti ricadute metodologiche quali la scarsa costruzione di etnografie multisituate, ma anche i limiti insiti nello sguardo dei ricercatori e che sembrano agire in favore di una ricerca di collettività e di campi marcatamente segnati da un (percepita) alterità.

Sumang adalah budaya pantang larang dalam masyarakat etnis Gayo yang hampir punah di pedalaman provinsi Aceh Indonesia, terlarang karena segala tindakan sumang dianggap bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam dan adat istiadat. Sumang sebagaimana yang dimaksud berkaitan dengan budi pekerti atau lebih cenderung pada Akhlak. Sopan santun yang dijunjung tinggi masyarakat mengikat seluruh komponen masyarakat, ini dijadikan norma yang mengatur bangaimana setiap individu harus menjaga bagaimana bersikap dan bertindak antar sesama, baik antara laki-laki dan perempuan serta yang muda kepada yang lebih tua yang harus menjaga batas kesopanan, etika duduk, etika berbicara, etika berjalan serta etika melihat segala sesuatu yang diatur sedemikian rupa yang mengacu kepada syari’at dan adat. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif etnografi, dengan menggali tokoh adat, tokoh masyarakat suku Gayo, dan anggota masyarakatnya. Pengumpulan data ini menggunakan pengamatan, dialektika, wawancara etnografis, dan dokumentasi etnografer. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan analisis domain, analisis taksonomik, analisis komponen, dan penyajian kesimpulan etnografi. Sebagai hasil penelitian, aktualisasi nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dalam budaya sumang pada Masyarakat suku Gayo terkandung dalam empat pilar yaitu, Sumang Peceraken (tabu perkataan), Sumang Kenunulen (Tabu duduk), Sumang Pelangkahan (Tabu Perjalanan), dan Sumang Penengonen (Tabu penglihatan). Dari keempat pilar Sumang tersebut mencakup nilai Instrinsik dan Instrumental, yakni integrasi nilai-nilai syari’at dan adat, berupa nilai Keimanan, nilai Ibadah, dan nilai akhlak yang bersinergis dengan nilai-nilai adat Gayo, yaitu mukemel, tertib, amanah, setie, alangtulung, dan bersikekemelen. The authors present the activity carried out at the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography between 1922-1951 to set up an Archive that keep information on material and immaterial folk culture, obtained using the questionnaires as a research method. The following Questionnaires are presented: The list of objects to be collected for the Ethnograpfic Museum (1923), To preserve our artistic monuments (1925), Questionnaire no. 1: Christmas customs (1926), Questionnaire no. 2: Christmas and New Year customs, Young fellowships (1927), The New Year’s Goat Ritual (1927), The House (1931). The answers to these questions were the base for setting up The Museum’s Folklore and Ethnography Archive, that also includes Collections of folkloric materials, Collections of Year’s Events Customs and Seminar Papers made by students on the following topics: Customs throughout the year; Habits in relation to human life; Settlements and House; Village Monographs; Grazing; Folk costumes; Folk medicine; Pottery; Furriery. Among the materials preserved in the Museum’s Archives, the authors present 14 seminar papers on the customs related to human life events (birth, wedding, funeral). In connection with human birth, some popular beliefs and practices are described: from the prenatal period (bans for pregnant women), and from the post-natal period, focusing on the role of the midwife and of the godmother in the first days of the newborn’s life. On the wedding theme, the authors expose the main phases preceeding the wedding: looking for the predestinated spouse, asking in marriage, the engagement, wedding invitations, the preparation of the flag, of the wreath, of the tree and the fir-tree, the wedding ceremony, the wedding party. Regarding the funeral, the authors present beliefs about the signs portending the death (the owlet song, howling dogs, objects falling off the walls), the dying persons’s spiritual preparation (Confession, Communion), physical preparation of the dead person (washing, grooming, dressing), the wake, the funeral service, the burial, alms (highlighting the importance of water as charity for the dead). The authors also present the funeral with fir-tree, for the unmarried young people, known as the dead’s wedding.

Questo paper presenta i primi esiti di un progetto di ricerca – ancora in corso – che mira a esplorare nuove forme di scrittura e rappresentazione etnografica. In particolare, la diffusione di tecnologie e pratiche di geo-tagging ha consentito di creare una piattaforma mediale plurale, in cui le tante soggettività che hanno osservato un complesso rituale funerario Bororo (nel Mato Grosso brasiliano) hanno potuto raccontare il loro punto di vista, scrivendo appunti, scattando immagini fotografiche, registrando suoni o sequenze video. Il resoconto etnografico che ne è risultato mostra tutta la ricchezza di un approccio polifonico, in cui voci e idee anche molto diverse tra loro vengono tutte ugualmente rappresentate. Il paper evidenzia le potenzialità formative di questi resoconti etnografici ubiqui e distribuiti, che, molto più dei classici libri di testo, possono aiutare gli studenti a vivere in prima persona la maggiore sfida dell’antropologia: la fiduciosa apertura verso visioni del mondo e punti di vista radicalmente diversi dai propri.

W artykule omówiono istotę i przebieg badań w działaniu oraz rodzaje i poziomy etnografii edukacyjnej. Wyniki i wnioski. Etnografia edukacyjna przypomina ideę badań w działaniu. Podobnie jak badania w działaniu skupia się na dostrzeżeniu potrzeby zmiany i wprowadzeniu usprawniających rozwiązań. Oryginalność. Ethnographic Wood is a category of cultural goods that is part of the Ethnographic Collection of the National Museum of the Eastern Carpathians and that deserves an analysis, even in broad outline, in the first instance, in order to identify the needs for research, conservation, enhancement and increase the number of museum objects classified in the category that we have called the Ethnographic Wood Subcollection. We are talking about one of the most important categories of ethnographic cultural goods, bearing perhaps the most important historical testimonies to the archaic way of life, carried out centuries ago around the traditional house, touching on aspects related to housing, agricultural implements, household tools for the textile industry, furniture, household annexes and others, all falling within the broad sphere of household concerns, with a purely practical but also artistic purpose. For centuries, wood was the basis of archaic civilisation and a mainstay of rural life. From houses and outbuildings to toys and footwear, everything was built or carved from this material, often from ancient forests. Ethnographic Wood accounts for almost half of the entire ethnographic collection of the museum and comes mainly from Covasna, Harghita and Mureş Counties. Most of the cultural goods included here also have an important artistic component, worthy of note and study. We have also briefly followed some aspects related to the evidence, provenance, research, enhancement and digitization of the Ethnographic Wood Subcollection.

"In 2019, the non-European movable cultural heritage belonging to the Franz Binder Museum was relocated in Sibiu, from the Hermes House (no. 11, Piața Mică), to the ASTRA Centre for Heritage (no. 20, Pădurea Dumbrava). In this context, the department of collection care of the ASTRA National Museum Complex, which is mainly responsible for the preventive conservation and administration of the museum’s cultural heritage, was entrusted with the task of carrying out the project. The actual period, from planning, organising, and preparation to the completion of the transport, lasted four months, and the action involved moving almost 4.000 ethnographic objects. With a focus on the planning and packing side, the case study describes in detail the steps taken, providing a benchmark and a model of good practice for those who might be facing a similar challenge."

Questo articolo si propone di introdurre chi legge all’antropologia della finanza nella sua dimensione contemporanea di finanziarizzazione. Attraverso la lente del manifesto femminista “GENS” (Bear et al. 2015), l’autrice propone una lettura di alcune etnografie che evidenziano come l’agency degli individui, i progetti di riproduzione sociale, le gerarchie di potere e i processi di accumulazione di denaro siano interconnessi e contribuiscano a forgiare nuovi modi di produzione e riproduzione del capitalismo globale. Inoltre, si mette in luce come l’industria finanziaria riproduca disuguaglianze di razza, genere e classe sia all’interno di una società che su scala globale, diventando sempre più pervasiva nel discorso sullo sviluppo. L’articolo è diviso in tre parti sulla base della relazione tra gli individui e il processo di valutazione finanziaria che essi attuano. Analizza gli esperti che lavorano all’interno delle istituzioni finanziarie; i processi di riproduzione sociale delle classi lavoratrici che il capitalismo finanziario ha reso sempre più dipendenti dai meccanismi del credito e del debito; le persone escluse dalle dinamiche finanziarie globali che i governi e le organizzazioni internazionali insistono a includere nel campo della finanza, considerandolo lo strumento più efficace per uscire dalla povertà.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memerikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam tradisi lisan Takanab berdasarkan perspektif ekolinguistik. Perspektif ekolinguistik didukung dengan studi etnografi komunikasi. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan menggunakan metode simak, teknik catat (linguistik). Metode dan teknik itu dipadukan dengan metode percakapan etnografis, teknik rekam (etnografi). Dalam analisis data digunakan metode padan ekstralingual, teknik analisis kontekstual. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil bahwa kearifan lokal dalam tradisi lisan Takanab termanifestasi melalui kearifan local berwujud nyata (tangible) berupa batu dan air, kain tenun motif, dan rumah adat; juga melalui kearifan lokal tidak berwujud nyata (intangible) berupa bidal, perumpamaan, petuah, dan syair. Setiap wujud kearifan lokal itu memanifestasikan nilai-nilai luhur yang mencerminkan penghayatan budaya kolektif masyarakat Dawan.

Negli ultimi 20 anni, esperienze e pratiche di ricerca etnografica si sono progressivamente affermate nella ricerca geografica fino a diventarne una componente fondamentale. Eppure ‘fare etnografia' in geografia non &egrave; certo n&eacute; scontato: richiede un adattamento alle esigenze e agli obiettivi della riflessione geografica, ma anche alla complessit&agrave; del ‘campo' della ricerca nelle scienze sociali contemporanee. In particolare, i tempi, i luoghi e le forme di un'etnografia thick (Geertz, 1973) sembrano inadatte a confrontarsi con le complessit&agrave; spazio-temporali delle dinamiche socio-spaziali attuali, con le trasformazioni del campo di ricerca, del soggetto che fa ricerca e del contesto in cui si fa ricerca, ma anche, e pi&ugrave; radicalmente, con i limiti derivanti dal retaggio coloniale della ricerca etnografica. Kluczową metaforą prezentowanej opowieści jest „cień podwojony” – cień przemijania najbliższych i życie w cieniu powojennej rzeczywistości PRL.

L'articolo affronta il tema della attribuzione di tipicitŕ a prodotti agroalimentari e del rapporto che questi processi intrattengono con la costruzione delle identitŕ locali e della valorizzazione e commercializzazione dei territori. Partendo da alcune etnografie in fase di avvio alcune, di svolgimento altre - particolarmente in Molise - l'autrice intende mostrare la complessitŕ dei rapporti intrattenuti tra produzione agroalimentare, strategie di promozione culturale dei territori da parte istituzionale e privata e livelli sovralocali e talora anche sovranazionali di definizione della tipicitŕ dei prodotti e di loro ammissibilitŕ nei circuiti commerciali (disciplinari, tutela, fonti di finanziamento specifiche). Accanto a ciň questo studio ha la finalitŕ di mostrare come i processi di trasformazione degli stili del gusto enogastronomico rientrino progressivamente in una riformulazione dell'idea stessa di tipicitŕ e nella piů ampia definizione di un patrimonio immateriale che tiene insieme paesaggi e comunitŕ di pratica, ambiente, tradizioni e marketing dei territori, attivismo locale e quadri di riferimento politico-istituzionali sovralocali.
