Full textApart from their functional aspects, the infant sleep rituals are closely linked to underlying cultural representations regarding the notion and the specific representation of the individual as seen by the culture. We show that both sleeping models -sepatate sleeping in France and co-sleeping in China (taïwan- correspond to two models and two processes of self construction. One is based on separation from the other while the second is based on the separation from the self. Operating, in opposite directions, the frustration of separation from the other and the frustration of separation from the self lead to two fundamentally different personalities : the "Authentic self" in french which becomes attached to the self and the "Relational self" in China which becomes detached from his self to fill his role and his relation with the other. There are, both in France and China, two models of theorization on the psychic life of man and on the regulation and the functioning of his psychic system

Full textHigher education is structured around a tension between two fundamental principles of all democracies : equality and merit. By opening access to higher education, the process of massification is transforming the means to resolve this tension. How can one reconcile the necessity of a meritocratic system in societies that only have very few places at their head, with worldwide demands of equality that encourage universities to produce more justice ? How can one move from the reproduction of society to its production ? To these shared question, the American, Indonesian and French systems each answer in their own way, according to the perception their respective societies have of themselves, but also according to students' capability to become actors of their own system, to make their claims heard, and to transform their study environments. By comparing these three systems, this research shows how the admission moment of the highschool students in higher education crystallizes the whole of these tensions. The means of selection put forward how each society perceives and produces legitimate identities, the distribution system of students within the university, and how their encounter allows students' integration in a study environment which can also be a life environment. The diversity of these local contexts does not prevent a shared tendancy : the university's increasing autonomy that puts forward as necessary the diversity of their respective roles by recruiting identified student populations. Whichever the higher education system studied, a process of convergence is at work, that not only concerns the system's way of functioning, but also, and most importantly, that claims to recognize individual identities

Full textThis study aims at analyzing communication strategies of french and spanish trade companies from a cross cultural point of view. The trade company's communication will have to be inspired by these cultural references which are specific to each cultural group in order to develop its communication strategy. After the study of the different stages of trade business coming in both countries, an historical recall of trade companies' communication will show the connection between communication and consumers habits guided by cultural foundations. This demonstration pivots on the cultural notion : cultural standards and values systems are essential to understand habits behaviour. Their analysis emphazises the differences between spanish and french cultures which makes it impossible to have an homogeneous communication in both countries

Full textOur working hypothesis was that the practice of judo for children was a particularly interesting study subject to show some cultural features and the regular organizations in different countries. In Japan as in France, judo for children has educational, social and cultural aims. All these aims interact, which transforms and redefines judo into an “ethnical motricity”. We chose to compare so as to analyze globally the observation of how the “body techniques” used in judo and the way they are taught varied according to their cultural background. After studying the cultural representativeness and the historical context of judo for children in Japan and in France, we compared how judoka children, parents and teachers see the aims of practicing and the means to it. Then we compared the curriculums and the way they are taught

Full textChinese medicine (zhongyi 中醫 in Chinese) has been represented in China in official discourse as a national heritage, while at the same time, it is subject to doubts, criticisms and stigmas. As for its acceptance in France, Chinese medicine now flourishes with alternative medicines claiming as a rebellion against a biomedical and reductionist system. This dissertation looks into the discourses contributed to the way that Chinese medicine has been represented and imagined in present French society
Toparslan, Sarah. "Le devenir père : étude comparative transculturelle entre les hommes français et turcs de France." Thesis, Strasbourg, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018STRAG038/document.
Full textGiven that the father is always uncertain, we tried to understand what drive French men and Turkish men from France to claim ownership of psychic fatherhood, in the contemporary world. In order to achieve this, we attempt to collect inner feelings, expectations as well as father becoming’s indicators, throughout the perinatality period. We proceed by data collection by way of singular talks of men who are in the process of becoming-father. We observed that wife primes the process leading to fatherhood at the time of the announcement of pregnancy. The imaginary link of these men to the child will forge this construction but also every protagonists with whom they will be in contact. The symbolic debt’s refund is the driving force of this construction. Indeed, the father with his own signifiers, creates a personal relation of father. The language in which he comes within plays a role : the father is eminently a cultural product

Full textBecause the exchanges between China and France keep on developing themselves, the representations built thanks to the different contacts and mobility are beginning to be an important problematic. The subject of our research is Chinese representations of France, French and the French language, and the factors occurring in the process of these representations. This study prioritises the half-directed interview as collection of data, crosses the experiment of six groups of Chinese who have experienced mobility to France in order to study, to emigrate or for professional reasons. The analysis of these interviews applies on two levels: a thematic study on the macro-social level dedicated to the sociocultural decoding, and a biographic study on the micro-social level in order to wonder on the majeur influence of the trajectory. Finally, this study advances educational propositions with the aim of the construction of an intercultural competence

Full textIn an era dominated by the visual, the power of the sign lies in its ability to create a representative world that in turn becomes itself a part of reality. This power continually puts us under the gaze of the other. It is due to the taking of the image - the reflection of reality - for reality itself. In advertising, culture plays an essential role. Providing it with a majority of its themes and establishing communicative norms, social models and standards of social practice, culture expresses the identity of the characters found in advertising. A better understanding of the different elements of culture expressed in the creation of advertising will provide us with tools of comprehension and action for both China and France. The purpose of this study is to aid the reader in considering and understanding the practice of the actors in the advertising industry, paying close attention to expression, information, representation, and argumentation. Our primary methodological tools within the framework of intercultural communication will be those of semiotics, information sciences, communication studies and the psychological approach about the desire. In the end, the twin demands of communication and social cohesion intertwine, expressing in unison movements that ally tradition and modernity and joins the long term and the short one of the communication
