Full textThis document details our Project that has been developed throughout the past five months, in which we investigated the market and determined its viability. The project is called “Tabú Planner”, which is a website that serves as an intermediary between a diversified market of small entrepreneurs that provide different services related to the organization of events, and thousands of people who have the need to organize a specific event. This website relays to connect those entrepreneurs that doesn’t develop a promotion strategy in which the sell their products and those customers that doesn’t know which are the best providers. We realized the validation, and it resulted that customers waste too much time finding the suitable one, and even in the case they find them, it often doesn’t fulfill their expectations. Our company is the suitable relation to fulfill those necessities. For the initial investment, the amount of S/ 33,050 is needed, which will be mostly contributed by the shareholders, but a small margin will be invested by a third party. The income stream will be made through the payment of memberships that will offered from three months to twelve months. In addition, there is an office that serves to have direct contact with our key partners. Related to our financial evaluation, this project generates a Net Present Value of 46,841.19. The project’s TIR amount to 13% with a return over investment starting at 1.76 years.

Full textEnvironmental sustainability of major events is a specific process that includes environmental, economic and social tips. A major event is an extraordinary situation that can change normal social system of a community of people. By the way, it is very important to plan major events environmental consequences to prevent any case of crisis and to ensure resident and participants safety. The research studies two major events (1) the 25th Eucharistic National Congress held in Ancona from 4th to 11st of September 2011 and (2) the ORC World Championship, held in Ancona from 21st to 29th June 2013. For the first one, the analysis follows the environmental data of the event (before, during and after the event) with the use of specific instruments that can measure all interactions between humans and environment, air quality, waste production, energy consumption in order to analyze all the modifications on the environment connected to the event. Then the Carbon Footprint was measured and LCA analysis was used to identify environmental problems caused by the event, value environmental goals and find sustainable solutions for the next event. The second case study is analyzed with a specific standard about events management, EBI 2012 by Rina and EcoCongress. Finally, a questionnaire to understand how much sensitivity about environment during events is in the participants was prepared. The answers have been used to analyze sensitivity, environmental behavior and ideas of the participants during the world championship.

Tourism industries of global countries’ GDP for 2011 accounted for more than 10%. Sport tourism was the fastest growing sector in the global travel and tourism industry, and it was the mainstream market, especially in sport event. There were total 448 running activities held in 2014. Marathon was one of the most important event. The purpose of this study was to explore the structure of marathon event tourism attraction and participation behavior intention through the Theory of Planned Behavior. Convenience sampling was used to collect data from marathon event in Bali. There were total 348 valid questionnaires returned. The results revealed:First, different age and groups had significant differences in sport tourism attraction; 31-40 year-old people in“historical” attraction variable was significant than above 61 year-old people; half-marathon participants in “historical” attraction variable was significant than marathon participants. Second, after attraction model was modified by confirmatory factor analysis, the result of fit measures as following: X2 = 709.56, X2/df = 2.28, RMSEA = 0.06, GFI = 0.87, and PCFI = 0.71. These values demonstrated good fit of this model. Third, the results of structure equation modeling showed the factors of participants’ behavior tendency, in which perceived behavioral control had the strongest effect, following were attitude, subjective norm, and sport event tourism attraction, in which path coefficient were 0.49, 0.44, 0.06, and 0.05 respectively. The study of contribution was to provide a more precisely prediction of participation behavior. The findings made hosts able to use limited resource effectively, and planned marketing strategies according to the factors attraction, attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control.

Abstract Professional sport events have become a part of the repertoire of public entertainment, which can be accessed through mass media such as television or internet. Relying on broadcasting and visibility, the rapid developing e-sport events greatly depends on the number of viewers. To further investigate the factors affecting the public's interest in such events, the theory of planned behavior is applied to explore the intention of viewers in watching such events. Online investigative questionnaires were provided and 297 valid samples were collected. Structured equation modeling is used to analyze the relationship between the behavioral intention of e-sport event viewers and preexisting factors including attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control. It was found that the attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control of the viewers have significant impacts on behavioral intention, where the perceived behavioral control plays a decisive role. Viewers agree with the belief that watching e-sport events is a non-faulty and meaningful activity has a positive effect on public impression because the willingness of watching these events may depend on whether the people around them share the same or similar values. Also, better accessibility can facilitate utilization.

In order to evaluate the effects of parking management strategies a planned special event, this study presents a multiclass, multimodal dynamic traffic simulation model with departure time and parking location for planned special events. By adopting a hierarchy decision structure, the influence of in-vehicle travel time, walking time, time spent looking for parking, parking fee, bus fare, and schedule delay costs toward the travel choice behaviours of participators of planned special events are considered simultaneously. In the first stage, participators make mode and departure time choices. Then, they make parking location choices if they choose to use private mode. Finally, they make route choices. They wish to spend minimal travel costs to arrive at a venue on their schedules. By adopting a mesoscopic transportation planning software, Cube, this simulation model is constructed to predict the traffic flow patterns in space and time. Time-dependent daily trips and extra trips generated by the planned special event are assigned into the road network together. Referencing the field investigation of New Year’s Eve in Taoyuan City, a numerical example is used to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed simulation model.

In this study, we focus on cyclic planned special events (PSE) which are held at a fixed place. A major of participants will attend the PSE by private vehicles. First, we collect relevant information of travel behaviors of event participants by means of interview survey. Second, we present a travel behavior model of event participants, including departure time choice, mode choice, and route choice. Third, we use mesoscopic transportation planning software, Cube, to simulate these travel choice behaviors of event participants. Finally, we evaluate the impact of traffic mitigation plans by using this Cube model from the perspectives of event participants and non-participants. New Year’s Eve in Taoyuan County was used as a case study. The results show that if event participants pay much attention to the schedule delay, they will carefully choose their departure times. In addition, we found that reducing the public transit cost and increasing the parking cost of private vehicles can help increase the proportion of public transit of event participants, improve the overall network performance, and decrease the impact of non-participants.

We focus on the travel choice behaviours of participants who attend planned special events (PSE) by private vehicles mainly. PSEs are periodically held at a fixed place. New Year’s Eve in Taoyuan County was used as a case study. We collect relevant information of travel behaviors of event participants by means of interview survey. Using Cube Voyager, a mesoscopic and systematic assessment tool is developed to explore participant behaviours of planned special event for mode and departure time window choices, evaluate event scenarios, and duplicate what happened during previous planned special events for a better understanding of the related issues. The simulation-based, multi-class, multi-modal traffic assignment model with departure time windows can be used to forecast the occurrence time and the level of traffic congestion produced by a planned special event. In this study, the 2015 New Year’s Eve celebration in Taoyuan City was used as a case study. Different types of traffic control plans were proposed to reduce the traffic impact of the planned special event. The impacts of a planned special event towards event participants and commuters and the mitigation measures for various traffic control plans are also established successfully in this study.
