The Russian pre-revolutionary book features many various provenance marks including marks of ownership. Such marks indicate that a particular item belongs to a particular owner. The study deals with the history of pharmaceutical exlibris bookplates within the territory of the present-day Czech Republic.Since the end of the 19th century 1332 ex-libris bookplates of pharmacists were identified to this day. Initially, the creation of ex-libris was associated with social group of pharmacy owners, after the WWII it managed to adapt to new circumstances of socialist pharmacy and again to new conditions after 1989. Significant influence on this phenomenon had several personalities of Czech pharmacy – above all Mojmír Helcelet, Vincenc Bosák and Václav Rusek.
