There are plenty of things said about the financial industry, an always ongoing debate, to say the least. We have identified a complex situation with three dimensions: Initial public offerings, Venture capital, and Lockup agreements. IPOs are generally difficult to put a price on because the market is not united yet, which creates uncertainties. Venture capital firms invest into startups, often with the incentive of bringing them to an IPO and then make a fast cash out exit. Hydropower regulation of rivers exhibits a threat to the riverine ecosystems. Fragmentation of flow, landscape disturbances, and water retention are key features of regulated catchments, resulting in reduced floods and geochemical tr¬ansport, non-natural water level fluctuations, and thus disturbed exchange between the river and the aquifer. Storing of water in reservoirs reduces peak flow and turbidity, which increases particle settling and sometimes favours enhanced primary production and formation of a clogging layer. Abstract:

Regulation of intracellular pH is responsible for many cellular processes, such as metabolism, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis. Many chemotherapeutic agents work by inducing target cells to undergo apoptosis, a cell death process still poorly understood. Previous studies demonstrated that a rise in intracellular pH activated apoptotic proteins leading to cytochrome C release. This "apoptotic alkalinization" occurred upon activation of the plasma membrane protein, sodium hydrogen exchanger-1 (NHE1), whose activity is regulated by the stress kinase p38 MAPK. In previous studies, upon cytok

Abstract:
In seawater, drinking is a fundamental part of the osmoregulatory strategy for teleost fish, and presents a unique challenge. The intestine has an established role in osmoregulation, and its ability to effectively absorb fluid from imbibed seawater is crucial to compensating for water losses to the surrounding hyperosmotic environment. Alongside solute-linked water transport (driven by NaCl cotransport), intestinal bicarbonate (HCO3-) secretion also benefits fluid absorption directly (via apical Cl-/HCO3- exchange), and indirectly through the formation of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) thus removin
