Motivated by the recent discoveries of exotic and possible crypto-exotic states, presented in this thesis is an inclusive search for the production of a crypto-exotic baryon state called R(3520) with hidden charm in e+e− interactions at a centre of mass energy of 10.58 GeV in the data collected at the energy Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector using a data set of 228 fb−1. Hints about the existence of the R(3520) state were reported in an analysis of data from a 2m hydrogen bubble chamber experiment at CERN. We present a search for lepton flavor violation processes at eμ final states with the data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in 2016 corresponding to the integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb^(-1). No evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model is observed in the eμ invariant mass spectrum, the results are interpreted in terms of three different models, an R-parity violating SUSY model (RPV), a heavy Z’ gauge boson model, and a quantum black hole model (QBH). One of the fundamental quantities of a superconductor is the magnetic penetration depth, λ, which is the characteristic length scale that a magnetic field penetrates into the surface of a superconductor while in the Meissner state. The discovery of a heavy neutral particle would be a direct hint for new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this thesis searches for new heavy neutral particles decaying into two tau leptons, which further decay into hadrons, are presented. They cover neutral Higgs bosons in the context of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) as well as Z′ bosons, predicted by various theories with an extended gauge sector. In 2003 the Belle collaboration announced the discovery of the X(3872) particle. This was confirmed shortly thereafter by the CDF, D0 and BaBar collaborations, and later by the LHCb collaboration. Based on the decay modes that have been observed to date, it is clear that this particle is a hadron, that is, a composite particle that experiences the strong nuclear force.
