Abstract:
L’utilisation passe-partout du concept d’exotisme pour décrire la musique se référant directement à un « autre » géographique est particulièrement problématique dans le cas de Maurice Ravel. Étant donné la présence prépondérante de l’« autre » dans sa musique (qu’il s’agisse d’un autre géographique, chronologique ou stylistique), il est indispensable de différencier cas par cas l’attitude et les choix compositionnels du compositeur. En suivant notamment les réflexions de Ralph P. Locke au sujet de l’exotisme musical et en s’interrogeant sur la perception des topoï musicaux, cet article propose une lecture des Chansons madécasses qui va au-delà de leur exotisme. Nous analysons les choix de Ravel par rapport aux textes et soulignons la portée moderniste et expressive (notamment érotique) davantage qu’« exotique » de ses choix musicaux.

Pour comprendre ce véritable penchant de l'écriture qu'est l'exotisme chez Mérimée, pour élucider le mystère de cette fascination qu'exerce "l'épos", pour donner un sens à cette recherche constante de ce que l'on pourrait nommer "la mise hors de soi-même", trois perspectives sont choisies : - une approche historique et descriptive permet de montrer toute la singularité de l'entreprise ainsi que la prédominance d'une thématique de la violence. - L'analyse des rapports exos epos révèle à quel point le voyage auquel l'écriture donne lieu est un voyage imaginaire et balise en définitive un univers baroque. - Que signifie enfin le mouvement de conscience qui rend manifeste le phénomène exotique au sein de l'ecriture ? La mythologie de Mérimée induit à retrouver toute une problématique du mal et de la médiation interne, telle qu'elle est définie par le critique René Girard<br>In order to understand this genuine writing tendency of Merimee, that is exotism; in order to maks clear the mystery of that fascination which is exerted by "exos"; in order to give a meaning to that continuous pursuit of what could be called the "outward driving of oneself", three approaches are put forward: - A historical and descriptive approach allows us to show all the peculiarity of the venture as well as the predominance of the topic of violence. - The analysis of the relations between "exos" and "epos" reveals how imaginary the trip generated by writing can be and how it eventually marks out a baroque universe4. - We finally ask 0urselves what is the meaning of the impluse of conscience which makes the exotic phenomenon within the writing activity so abvious ; Merimee's mythology induces us to rediscover the problematic conception of evil and of "inner mediation" (as it has been defined by the critic René Girard)

L'analyse de la creation litteraire d'ingeborg bachmann sous l'angle de l'exotisme revele une projection des desirs de l'individu dans des univers etrangers face au conflit entre ses aspirations existentielles et les realites socio-politiques, un conflit qui determine la conception philosophique d'une utopie. Consideree en correlation avec les implications socio-politiques de la perception des realites - surtout etrangeres - depeintes dans l'oeuvre, la stylisation de la relation dialectique entre l'experience de la negation de l'individualite et la recherche de l'identite propre permet d'evaluer la perception de l'autre dans la conception poetologique et l'ecriture de l'auteur. Les references sociale et historiques, qui sous-tendent la critique de civilisation fondee sur une constellation afrique europe, par exemple, definissent la dimension interculturelle d'une confrontation de deux modeles de societe. Cette observation de soi et de l'autre donne l'occasion, a la lumiere de la confrontation du monde occidental au monde africain, de reflechir sur les rapports qui ont determine cette rencontre de cultures en mettant l'accent sur le phenomene d'alienation et la necessite d'une affirmation de l'identite culturelle, afin de degager la valeur essentielle d'une conscience historique indispensable a la realisation des conditions primaires d'une rencontre culturelle<br>The analysis of the representation of foreign worlds in ingeborg bachmann's literary works reveals an exotistic projection of the aspiration that the individual develops in the conflict between existential needs and the reality of the social and political world - a conflict that lies at the heart of the author's philosophical concept of utopian thinking. Because of the social and political implications involved in bachmann's perception of (especially foreign) reality, the literary form of the dialectic relationship which exists between the experience of the annihilation of the individual and the search for individual identity allows a discussion of the role of cultural difference in her writing as well as in her concept of literatur. The social an historical references, for instance, which underlie bachmann's critical view of culture in term of the constellation africa europe, define the inter-cultural dimension that the confrontation of two models of society implies in her works. Bachmann's treatment of the problems of the self and of difference are discussed in the light of the clash between the western world and africa in order to reflect on the conditions which determine the encounter of cultures. The discussion highlights the phenomenon of alienation and the necessity to affirm cultural identity so as to underline the essential value of historical awareness as an indispensable condition of the understanding of the forces at work in the encounter between cultures

Abstract:
La thèse s'efforce de démontrer que la caractéristique esthétique principale de la poésie de Nikos Kavvadias est l'exotisme, ce qui explique aussi en grande partie son succès populaire, attribué jusqu'à présent uniquement à sa thématique puisée dans la vie des marins. Après avoir clarifié la notion de l'exotisme et les raisons à cause desquelles la littérature et la recherche grecques ont ignoré ou mal compris ce mode d'expression, l'étude suit par comparaisons littéraires l'évolution initiale du poète. Les particularités biographiques confirment l'attachement de Kavvadias à l'exotisme en tant que concept et attitude de vie. L'analyse détaillée de l'ensemble de l'ensemble de ses poèmes, édités et inédits, dévoile le cheminement de son écriture et examine les moyens employés dans l'expression de l'exotisme. Au fur et à mesure de la démonstration, l'étude met la lumière sur les traitements successifs de l'exotisme dans les textes de Kavvadias. L'originalité de l'approche adoptée a en même temps l'avantage d'affronter les questions posées par les exégètes sur des nouvelles bases. Les réponses proposées écartent les obstacles auxquels se heurte habituellement la critique, et offrent des nouvelles perspectives dans l'appréciation de la valeur littéraire d'une poésie adorée par les lecteurs mais quasiment ignorée par les doctes. La thèse est complétée par une annexe philologique de tous les poèmes de Nikos Kavvadias qui vient appuyer les idées développées dans son corps principal et combler le vide bibliographique dans ce domaine<br>With the present thesis, it is attempted to prove the basic aesthetic characteristic of Kavvadia's poetry, which is the exotism which explain in a high grade his effect to the public, something that has been given back until now to the matter of poetry and has been derived from mariners life. After have made clear the concept of exotism and the reasons, due to which Greek literature and literary research ignored or misunderstood the way of expression, the study follows the initial development of the poet through literary comparisons. The biographical particularities confirm the attachment of Kavvadias to exotosm like a concept and life attitude. The detailed analysis of all the poems, published and unpublished, reveals the process of this way of writing and examines the means that have been used in the expression of exotism. The study to its proving development illuminates the successive elaborations of the exotism in Kavvadia's texts. The originality of the adopted approach has simultaneously the advantage to face the questions, set by the interpreters, on new bases. The proposed answers overcome the obstacles which the critic stumbles on and offers new perspectives concerning the evaluation of literal value of a poetry adored by the readers but almost ignored by the theorists. The thesis is being completed by a literal annex of all Kavvadia's poetry which supports the developed ideas in it's main body and completes the bibliographical missing part in this field

Abstract:
El interés central de esta investigación ha sido el estudio del qigong en Occidente, visto como una práctica corporal originaria de Asia Oriental que circula en el mercado de consumo de las terapias alternativas. El actual contexto en España, caracterizado por la crisis social, económica y política, ha sido clave para entender el proceso de resignificación e incorporación de algunas ideas y conceptos del pensamiento chino a las propias necesidades de la realidad de los practicantes de qigong. En los estudios preliminares se identificaron tres estilos de qigong, el marcial, el espiritual y el enfocado a la salud. La investigación se concentró en un grupo de formación de monitores de qigong en Barcelona, orientado a la salud preventiva, estilo que se basa en la medicina tradicional china. Siendo el objetivo principal entender la manera en la que los occidentales incorporan elementos del pensamiento chino que sustenta a las prácticas corporales asiáticas orientales, mi interés inicial pretendió investigar ese proceso de significación y resignificación de los rasgos culturales, pautas de comportamiento, ideas, conceptos y cómo los practicantes le dan un sentido diferente y particular a éstas. En la segunda etapa, la triangulación de la propia experiencia de los adeptos desde el contexto de su realidad social, económica y política fue clave en la comprensión del proceso de interpretación, adaptación y apropiación de esta práctica de origen extranjero. Se recurrió a la metodología cualitativa y al método etnográfico. Se realizaron entrevistas aplicando una guía de preguntas abiertas. El trabajo de campo duró tres años; en los dos últimos la observación participante propició que el investigador se integrara al grupo de monitores realizando las prácticas principalmente en España y secundariamente en la República Popular de China. En cuanto a los resultados, se correlacionaron los datos obtenidos en el trabajo de campo con las primeras categorías del marco teórico. En la organización y clasificación de los datos, se observaron y constataron los aprendizajes a nivel mental y cognitivo de los objetivos del curso de formación de monitores de qigong. En una segunda lectura de los resultados, emergieron nuevas categorías que fueron clave para una interpretación más profunda. Se encontró que, aunque el enfoque del qigong estudiado era el de la salud, los adeptos no escapaban a la influencia de la espiritualidad New Age. Otro hallazgo fue que en la toma de sentido imperaba, a nivel inconsciente, el egoísmo o individualismo narcisista característico de las sociedades capitalistas y consumistas de la modernidad. En conclusión, se puede afirmar que el qigong en Occidente ha sido influenciado por el movimiento de la New Age, exaltando una espiritualidad alternativa a los dogmas del pensamiento católico. En el campo de las terapias alternativas, la reinterpretación psicosomática del cuerpo oriental acentúa los valores subjetivos relacionados con los sentimientos y emociones como un intento de superar la división cartesiana del cuerpo y la mente. El individualismo narcisista de la modernidad ha sido definitorio en la reinterpretación y resignificación del sentido original del qigong, experiencias que contrastan y se contraponen a los valores, ideas y conceptos colectivos del pensamiento chino. El exotismo y la orientalización del qigong por parte de los practicantes occidentales parece resurgir históricamente en situaciones de crisis social, económica y política.<br>The central interest of this research is the study of qigong in the West, seen as a corporal practice, which originated in Central Asia and now circulates in the consumer market of alternative therapies. The current context of Spain, characterized by social, economic and political crises, has been key to understanding the process of re-signification and incorporation of some ideas and concepts of Chinese thought within the necessities of the qiqong practitioners’ reality. In the preliminary studies, three styles of qigong were identified – martial, spiritual, and health-focused. This investigation concentrated on a group in the process of becoming qigong monitors in Barcelona, oriented by the preventive health style sustained in traditional Chinese medicine. The aim of the project has been to comprehend the manner in which Westerners incorporate elements of Chinese thought that sustain East Asia’s corporal practices. The initial interest of the research was directed towards understanding the processes of signification and re-signification of cultural traces, codes of behavior, ideas, and the ways that the practitioners give different and particular meanings. In the second stage, the triangulation of the practitioners’ own experiences with the social, economic and political context was key in comprehending their interpretation, adaptation and appropriation process of this foreign discipline. Using qualitative methodology and ethnographic method, interviews were carried out, applying a guide with open questions. The fieldwork lasted three years; during the last two, participative observation propitiated the researcher to become integrated to the group of monitors whose practices were sustained firstly, in Spain and secondly, in the People's Republic of China. Regarding the results, data obtained in fieldwork was correlated with the first categories of the theoretical frame. In the organization and classification of the information, mental and cognitive levels of learning in the course forming qigong monitors were observed and verified. Through a second reading of the results, new categories emerged that were key to a more profound interpretation: although the focus of the qigong studied was oriented toward health, it was found that the practitioners did not escape the influence of New Age spirituality. Another finding was that in making sense of the practice, on an unconscious level, egoism, or the narcissistic individualism characteristic of capitalist and consumerist societies of modernity, prevailed. In conclusion, it can be affirmed that qigong in the West has been influenced by the New Age movement, exalting a spiritual alternative to the dogmas of Catholic thought. In the field of alternative therapies, the psychosomatic reinterpretation of the Oriental body accentuates the subjective values related to sentiments and emotions, in an attempt to overcome the Cartesian division of mind and body. The narcissistic individualism of Modernity has been definitional in the reinterpretation and re-signification of the original sense of qigong – experiences that contrast with and are counterposed to the collective values, ideas and concepts of Chinese thought. The exoticism and the orientalization of qigong on behalf of Western practitioners seem to resurge historically in situations of social, economic and political crises.

Les littératures des Antilles françaises sont de plus en plus populaires en Europe. Que les études réalisées s'inscrivent le plus souvent dans le cadre des relations présentes et passées du continent européen avec les îles ne surprend donc pas vraiment. Cette approche est d'ailleurs pertinente, si l'on considère l'Histoire commune des colons africains et européens. L'inconvénient est que les critiques tendent à considérer toute différence avec la métropole comme spécifique à cette région, de sorte que les convergences ou divergences de ces littératures entre elles n'ont pas été suffisamment remarquées. A la fois région française et groupe d'îles aux structures coloniales, la Martinique et la Guadeloupe sont des sociétés ambigue͏̈s. C'est précisémént cette ambigui͏̈té qui inspire les œuvres littéraires même les moins engagées. Elle est à l'origine d'un sentiment fondamental du personnage antillais : l'auto-exotisme, cette façon d'être exotique à soi-même. Intimisme et exotisme : ces deux mots consideres dans leur opposition etymologique construisant une dialectique du dedans et du dehors -, et appliques sur le texte de jammes comme une grille secrete, font jaillir le sens d'une poesie ecoutee a la lisiere des champs, au pied des montagnes, et pourtant tournee vers le monde, tel, du moins, qu'il se presente a l'esprit du poete pyreneen. Car jammes possede une vision du monde particuliere : poete des choses quotidiennes domaine de l'intime s'il en est -, il les explore comme un territoire exotique ; les voyageurs du lointain qui peuplent son oeuvre sont, quant a eux, approches sur le mode intimiste du lien familial, et les pelerins de l'ici - facteurs ou vagabonds - sont percus comme de grands decouvreurs. Le vaste monde, lui-meme n'a de realite que dans l'imaginaire du poete, l'espace etant reduit a sa seule perception subjective. Construire le lexique de sa poesie, analyser ce mode d'approche intimiste de l'exotisme et dresser une cartographie de son imaginaire, ont donc ete les taches principales de cette etude. Encore a-t-il fallu ensuite se demander si l'ecriture en mineur, la poesie de l'humble et du local, ne pouvaient engendrer un jugement negatif sur une oeuvre reconnue de tous - des lettres comme de la foule - en 1900 et aujourd'hui tombee en desuetude. C'est l'ensemble de ces questions qui se sont posees au lecteur reveur - en anima - et que le lecteur analyste - en animus- s'est efforce de resoudre, sur les traces de bachelard, j. P. Richard et j. Gracq, a mi-chemin entre une poetico-analyse et une geo-poetique, sans negliger une approche externe, nous permettant d'aborder les problemes plus specifiques souleves par une critique des idees ou de la reception.

L'oeuvre de kenneth white se deployant depuis une quarantaine d'annees, on peut l'observer aujourd'hui avec un recul instructif. Le moine est un personnage qui la traverse de part en part, meme s'il semble tres eloigne de l'image traditionnelle que nous en avons peut-etre. On ne parle donc ici que de monachos, c'est-a-dire de white mais en tant qu'il refait un chemin, sinon archetypal, du moins constate ailleurs, sous certains aspects. Le terme de monachos revet par consequent des significations locales et globales permettant d'etudier l'uvre selon trois axes principaux: un mouvement de recul vis-a-vis du contexte originel; un souci de << sculpter sa propre statue >>, de travailler sa personne; un elan enfin vers la totalite cosmique et humaine. Nous retrouvons des traces tres nettes de ces mouvements dans la << divergence >> de l'ecriture de white, dans sa mythologie << blanche >> personnelle (et transpersonnelle), ou encore dans ce qu'il appelle une << geopoetique >>, pour ne donner que quelques exemples.

Abstract:
L’œuvre de Simone Schwarz-Bart, romancière guadeloupéenne, nous immerge au sein de la culture créole dont les croyances et les pratiques se veulent animistes. Ainsi, le rapport des personnages à la nature et aux éléments est exacerbé, notamment celui à l’eau. En effet, l’eau est cette entité conductrice que l’on retrouve tout au long de son écriture et qui flue telle la vie, dans tout ce qu’elle a de plus beau et de plus sombre à la fois. Elle représente ce voyage de l’homme, de la matrice maternelle au monde des Invisibles – l’ « eau »-delà – et incarne ce passage entre le réel et le surnaturel, qui constitue l’un des fondements même de l’imaginaire antillais. C’est à travers une écriture poétique que Simone Schwarz-Bart fait naviguer ses personnages sur des eaux qui se révèlent être tantôt troubles tantôt claires, imprévisibles, mais salvatrices également. L’eau est ce bienfait divin, reflet du corps, reflet du cœur, qui semble emprisonner dans ses profondeurs les souvenirs des personnages, et permet leur renaissance spirituelle. De même, les croyances fétichistes et religieuses formant l’identité créole placent au cœur de leurs rituels l’eau, comme étant une composante indispensable et vitale, tout cela sur fond de toile insulaire. Au sein de l’œuvre schwarz-bartienne, les êtres acquièrent une dimension aquatique et fusionnent avec leur environnement où exotisme et oralité règnent. Para tanto, cabe compreender panoramicamente o seu desenvolvimento histórico. Este trabalho não pretende responder às questões levantadas, mas sim utilizá-las como fios condutores para outras reflexões e descontruções de conceitos.

Abstract:
La joyería es una de las manifestaciones artísticas que más exprime la identidad de un pueblo, sus creencias, valores y preferencias estéticas. Por esto el estudio de la joyería mexicana en la actualidad nos puede darnos una visión panorámica de cómo la globalización ha cambiado la concepción, el uso y el consumo de este producto artístico. A partir los opuestos procesos de “desterritorialización”, por parte de las manobras de la economía global, y de “reterriorialización” como respuestas de las realidades locales, delinearemos alcunas emblemáticas situaciones que la joyería mexicana está viviendo. La desterritorialización conlleva radicales cambios en la definición de arte popular, ámbito al que la joyería tradicional pertenece; efectivamente el “valor moda” que las multinacionales aplican a su producción hizo de la joyería comercial la principal joyería popular en México. Mientras que la joyería hecha por el pueblo se convierte en un producto elitista por un mercado exclusivo y de coleccionismo, o por el otro lado, en su manifestación más sencilla, se convierte en un suvenir para el turista. Entre los efectos prominentes de la reterritorialización hemos averiguado la exaltación del mexicanismo hasta convertirse en “auto exotismo”. Este proceso está evidente en la recuperación de los símbolos y cualidades apotropaicas de la joyería prehispánica por parte de neo-chamanes, artesanos y artistas como reafirmación de la propia cultura original. Es en este último caso que surge la Joyería Contemporánea mexicana, cuyo análisis nos hará reflexionar sobre como actúa la influencia mediática de los fenómenos artísticos internacionales en los contextos locales.http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/ANIAV.2017.5744

This article aims to understand the relationship between the emergence of economic elites in Latin America and the formation of physical, organizational and aesthetic spaces in cities. Moving away from readings that read this type of architecture still through the character of exoticism, a hegemonic vision within the debates of architecture and urbanism, we work with the hypothesis of these phenomena as complex processes, not isolated, connecting experiences in different locations. Taking as a motto the example of the Bolivian city of El Alto and its transformations with the lead role of the architect Freddy Mamani, this work focuses on the analysis of four regions in two Brazilian cities - North and South Zones of Recife and North and East Zones of São Paulo, offering a first look at the similarities and differences between territorial dynamics and the result of socioeconomic relations in the development of localities, especially through the work of architecture and construction professionals. Keywords: Latin America, New Elites, Recife, São Paulo. Este artigo tem como objetivo entender a relação entre a emergência de elites econômicas na América Latina com a conformação dos espaços físicos, organizacionais e estéticos das cidades. Afastando-se de leituras que lêem esse tipo de arquitetura ainda através do caráter do exotismo, visão hegemônica dentro dos debates da arquitetura e do urbanismo, trabalha-se com a hipótese desses fenômenos como processos complexos, não isolados, conectando experiências em diferentes localidades latinoamericanas. Tomando como mote o exemplo da cidade boliviana de El Alto e suas transformações com protagonismo do arquitetoFreddy Mamani, este trabalho tem como foco a análise de quatro regiões de duas cidades brasileiras - Zonas Norte e Sul de Recife e Zonas Norte e Leste de São Paulo, oferecendo um primeiro olhar acerca das semelhanças e diferenças entre as dinâmicas territoriais e o resultado das relações socioeconômicas no desenvolvimento das localidades, sobretudo pelo trabalho dos profissionais da arquitetura e construção.
