Abstract:
We consider the effect of different orders of Magnus expansion for the field transformation in type-I parametric down-conversion with a monochromatic pump. The exact solution, existing in this case, allows us to analyze the convergence of the Magnus expansion for the spectrum of squeezing and the angle of squeezing. We demonstrate how the convergence of the Magnus series depends on the parametric gain for various values of the phase mismatch. For each phase-mismatch angle we find the gain, which is the exact upper bound for the convergence of the Magnus series.

Abstract:
In this paper, based on the iterative technique, a new explicit Magnus expansion is proposed for the nonlinear stochastic equation d y = A ( t , y ) y d t + B ( t , y ) y ∘ d W . One of the most important features of the explicit Magnus method is that it can preserve the positivity of the solution for the above stochastic differential equation. We study the explicit Magnus method in which the drift term only satisfies the one-sided Lipschitz condition, and discuss the numerical truncated algorithms. Numerical simulation results are also given to support the theoretical predictions.

The celebrated Schrödinger equation is the key to understanding the dynamics of quantum mechanical particles and comes in a variety of forms. Its numerical solution poses numerous challenges, some of which are addressed in this work. Arguably the most important problem in quantum mechanics is the so-called harmonic oscillator due to its good approximation properties for trapping potentials. In Chapter 2, an algebraic correspondence-technique is introduced and applied to construct efficient splitting algorithms, based solely on fast Fourier transforms, which solve quadratic potentials in

Therefore, a short review of geometric integrators for ODEs is given in this last chapter. Abstract:
This chapter introduces Monte-Carlo techniques to simulate the equilibrium properties of complex systems, and perturbative techniques to calculate their behavior as an expansion about solvable limits. It uses the Ising model as a description of magnets, of binary alloys, and of the liquid-gas transition. It introduces Markov chains and detailed balance as providing a guarantee that Monte-Carlo methods converge to equilibrium. To analyze phases and phase transitions, it introduces a 27-term low-temperature expansion for the magnetization of the Ising model. Inside phases, perturbation theory converges; at phase transitions, it cannot. Exercises simulate the behavior of the Ising model and cellular function. They explore equilibration algorithms and calculation of low temperature expansions. And they apply Markov chains to coin flips, unicycles, fruit flies, chemical reaction rates, and DNA replication.

Abstract:
This chapter examines variation in the trend of work–family policy expansion, by exploring the reforms in four latecomer countries: Germany, England, South Korea and Japan. It argues that the different extents of expansion observed in the four countries can be explained by how much each country realised the potential of social investment as a polysemic international idea. The chapter then reviews the literature on discourse and ideas, with a particular focus on the concept of social investment. It concentrates on the main theoretical concepts of polysemy and ideas as coalition magnets. Ultimately, the chapter analyzes the use of social investment discourse in each of the cases and relates it back to the discussion of polysemy and coalition magnets; it focuses on the ways in which policy-makers defined the relevant policy problems and policy goals of work–family policy expansion.

In this paper, the application of the Magnus expansion on periodic time-delayed differential equations is proposed, where an approximation technique of Chebyshev Spectral Continuous Time Approximation (CSCTA) is first used to convert a system of delayed differential equations (DDEs) into a system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), whose solution are then obtained via the Magnus expansion. The stability and time response of this approach are investigated on two examples and compared with known results in the literature.
