Full textENGLISH ABSTRACT: Very little is known about the psychological experiences related to childcare use among lowincome mothers in South Africa. In rural and semi-rural communities, where affordable and accessible childcare is almost non-existent, low-income mothers often have no alternative but to rely on their own mothers for childcare. Despite strong theoretically based indications that these particular childcare arrangements are psychologically complex, research on this topic is almost completely lacking. This dissertation sets out to investigate (a) how childcare arrangements (including multigenerational childcare) manifest in one particular low-income South African community, and (b) how low-income South African mothers experienced the use of childcare psychologically. This study was set in a poor, semi-rural, so-called Coloured community in the Western Cape, South Africa. Two open-ended, in-depth interviews were conducted with eight participants. The transcribed interviews were analysed using constructivist grounded theory and case studies in a sequential data analysis approach. Theoretically, this study was informed by postmodernism, social constructionism, feminism and psychoanalytic theory. The data analysis resulted in a detailed documentation of the range of childcare arrangements utilised by the participants. It further showed that contextual, relational and personal constraints made it impossible for the participants to mother and care for their children as they wanted to. The participants had to compromise on their childcare ideals and this created a range of psychological and emotional sequelae. In order to cope with these, the participants resorted to both conscious and unconscious coping mechanisms and processes. The findings indicated that the use of multigenerational childcare was psychologically complex, as mother-daughter relationships consciously and unconsciously impacted on childcare decision-making, the emotional and psychological repercussions and the participants’ coping therewith. The absence of men and fathers in the provision of childcare concurred with international findings on the gendered nature of childcare. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that mothering and childcare are indeed issues of concern to low-income mothers. It is also a subject that warrants further investigation in the discipline of psychology. Recommendations in this regard are included and highlight the need to use theoretical frameworks and research methods that are sensitive to the multilayered, complex psychological experiences of motherhood and childcare among low-income women.

Full textBackground: Nurses have a responsibility to early identify deteriorated patients in the general wards and contact the mobile intensive care group (MIG) for consultation. Studies have shown that patients with increased care needs may be in a ward that does not have the adequate staff and monitoring resources. These insufficient resources and nurses multiple patients at the same time implies a stressful work situation. Collaboration in teams between the intensive care nurse and the nurse is crucial for a MIG consultation to work. Aim: To illuminate the nurse's experience of collaboration with the intensive care nurseduring a MIG consultation. Method: Eight individual, semi-structured interviews with nursesworking at four care wards were analysed using inductive qualitative content analysis. Results: The analysis result was presented in four sub-categories, two categories and one theme. The overall theme a last resort described that MIG was there to support the nurses andit was safe to have the MIG at the hospital. How the collaboration with MIG was experienced depended on intensive care nurses´ attitude towards the nurses, such as their understanding of the nurses´ work situation and respected the nurses´ knowledge. How the collaboration worked with the intensive care nurses depended on how the nurses were treated at the MIG-consultations. Conclusion: Most nurses has a positive experience of working with the intensive care nurse, but there were difficulties with the team collaboration. However, difficulties may arise which are based on the condescending attitudes of the intensive care nurses. The intensive care nurses must understand the nurses' work situation and have reasonable expectations of them.

Team innovation is the important and powerful weapon or the currentindustry to get sustainable competitiveness. Most of the work value research mainly focuses on the ndividual’s psychological level, which induces a team-level research gap in this research area. Therefore, the team-level analysis of work value congruence is manipulated in this study. In the light of Taiwan bicycle industry, this study which based on the Similarity-Attraction Theory discovers a clear mediation path that starts from the person and team fit (work value congruence) to team process (knowledge sharing) and then to team performance (team innovation). Questionnaire survey was used in the present study. The teams from the bicycle industry in Taiwan are the main subjects. In total, there were 111 teams, that is, 432 subjects, participated in the study. The results shows team member’s work value congruence and team innovation has positive relationship; and team knowledge sharing plays mediation role in the relationship. The finding suggests organizations should train or develop team members to possess similar work value, which can enforce team innovation. Besides, the person and team fit about work value should be considered in recruiting and maintaining talents. Also for managers that eager to establish a learning organization, they need to pay more attention on team members’ work value congruence. Finally, the limitations and future research suggestion are discussed.

Working late at night is a challenge that teams often face, but few studies focus on this topic. According to previous researches on sleep-related issues, there are three possible reactions to work up late with team members, one is team depletion; another is team flow; the other way is negative group affective tone. Meanwhile, we take team goal commitment as the moderating variables, with the aim of clarifying the boundary conditions to decrease or enhance the effect of team work up late. In this study, we invited 57 team leaders and 255 team members from various kinds of team. The result shows that (1) team work up late will enhance team creativity by increasing team depletion and decrease team creativity by increasing negative group affective tone; (2) when the goal commitment in the team is high, worked-up-late members are less likely to have the negative mood.

The validity for theory of empowering leadership and psychological empowerment within the medical service industry was addressed in the present study. The relationships of empowering leadership through psychological empowerment were considered to assess whether they uniquely affect knowledge sharing, organizational commitment and team work outcomes. Drawing on a team unit sample was from teaching hospitals. In this study, constructs with different sources (e.g., team members rated their perceived empowering leadership, psychological empowerment, knowledge sharing and organizational commitment, while team leaders rated their members’ task performance and organizational citizenship behavior) in order to reduce the possibility of same source bias was measured. The mediating effects of knowledge sharing and organizational commitment, respectively,on the relationship between psychological empowerment and work outcomes (in-role task performance and on extra-role organizational citizenship behavior) were examined. Results showed that (1) organizational commitment has the mediating effects on the relationship between psychological empowerment and work outcomes (task performance and organizational citizenship behavior); (2) knowledge sharing has the mediating effect on the relationship between psychological empowerment and task performance; (3) knowledge sharing has no mediating effect on the relationship between psychological empowerment and organizational citizenship behavior. Based on the findings, some suggestions for academic and practical fields will be offered.

With rapid change of environment, self-directed work team has drawn attention of enterprises. This study took information systems development team as an object to discuss the influence of collective efficacy of knowledge sharing on knowledge sharing behavior and analyzing moderating effects of team confidence and team interaction. Through data analysis with the hierarchical regression analysis method, the result revealed that collective efficacy of knowledge sharing would greatly influence knowledge sharing behavior without consideration of other interfering factors. In addition, the study has also found that team interaction and horizontal confidence are effected in the process of collective efficacy of knowledge sharing affecting knowledge sharing behavior. Furthermore, vertical interaction showed significantly moderating effects in the process of collective efficacy of knowledge sharing and explicit-oriented knowledge sharing behaviors. Finally, system confidence showed significantly moderating effects in the process of collective efficacy of knowledge sharing and tacit-oriented knowledge sharing behaviors. Hence, team activity not only considers the relationship of trust and interaction between members but also reinforces collective efficacy of team members to promote knowledge sharing behavior.
