Abstract:
Background: Reading poetry is an effort to convey the poet's message to his listeners. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the process of learning to read poetry and improve results. Design and methods: This experiment analyzes the improvement of the learning process, including the stages of attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation, as well as the improvement of student learning outcomes when reading poetry in terms of intonation, pronunciation, volume, gestures, and expressions. This research was conducted on Literary Club extracurricular students at SDIT ALIF. The method used in this study is a quantitative experimental method using the video modeling technique of recording a poetry performance by Helvy Tiana Rosa. Data analysis techniques in this study were in the form of videos during which students read poetry, observation sheets, field notes, and student test results in the form of performance tests. In this design, two groups are randomly selected and then given a pretest to find out the difference in the initial state between the experimental group and the control group. Each group that was randomly selected was the same for both the control group and the experimental group, namely 10 people Results: experimental class pretest data with an average of 14.10 while the control class obtained an average of 19.60. From the results of the posttest, it was obtained that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 17.50 and that of the control class was 26.30. Thus, it can be said that the skills of students have increased. However, based on the assessment with this technique, there is an insignificant increase in effect

Abstract:
In the present study, the author deals with the literary-historical and poetological circumstances of the notion of experimental poetry, noting this type of writing mainly in Slovak and Czech literature but against the broader background of Polish and Hungarian literature, i.e., in the Central European context. In particular, the author reflects on the communicability of texts constructed in this way. He chooses the 1960s as the initial period of his observations, but he also notes the experimental tendencies in poetry that preceded the 1960s, and at the same time, he moves from the 1960s to the 1990s and the developments in (Slovak) literature after the year 2000. From Slovak literature in the 1960s, he pays particular attention to the experimental work of M. Adamčiak, and from the most recent Slovak literature, he reflects on the work of P. Macsovszky and K. Zbruž. From a developmental point of view, the author focuses primarily on the significant influence of Czech literature on Slovak literature in the 1960s – especially the influence of the texts of L. Novák and V. Havel. The author also creatively builds on the metatexts of some literary scholars or creatively polemicises with their findings or further conjectures them (K. Ihringová, V. Křivánek, J. Šrank, M. Součková and others).

Abstract:
Abstract From historical perspectives, this article points to the interactions between official politics, official literary culture, and radical poetry in socialist Yugoslavia and postsocialist post-Yugoslav cultures. The complexity of parallel political and poetically antagonistically opposed poetry formations and the role of feminism are discussed within this constantly changing social and political environment. At the same time, connections and interactions between different parts of this cultural spaces are revealed, which are concealed within the dominant methodological nationalism approach to poetry studies. The focus is put on the intensive relation between radical poetry and radical art practice connected with transnational flows in Yugoslav socialism from the late 1960s and 1970s, and later its reappearance in 1990s during the war in Yugoslavia. At the end, the article discusses the function of translation of American poetry in articulation of radical postsocialist poetry in Serbia, and the role of feminism as a political frame for this kind of work.

Abstract:
This study explores the impact of Contextual Learning Model (CLM) on the creativity of writing poetry in fifth-grade elementary school students. An experimental method was employed by dividing students into an experimental group receiving CLM and a control group receiving conventional teaching. Data were collected through creativity tests for writing poetry before and after the intervention. The results indicate a significant improvement in poetry writing creativity in the experimental group compared to the control group. Students engaged in contextual learning demonstrated better abilities in producing unique and meaningful poetry. CLM provides opportunities for students to actively participate in the learning process, fostering creative thinking and linking learning to real-world contexts. This research contributes to practical and theoretical understanding of the effectiveness of CLM in enhancing poetry writing creativity at the elementary school level.

Abstract:
This paper aims at analysing the rise of innovative and experimental poetics within the American poetic grounds and the factors that remain extremely influential in establishing an alternate poetic culture that emerged with the rise of modernism within poetic circles. With influential and significant American poetic voices like Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot and innovative women poets like Gertrude Stein popularising the use of ‘experimental’ techniques within the processes of poetic construction, the American poetic culture witnessed the rapid growth of an alternate realm of poetic activity that particularly gained significant recognition in the post-war era. This paper attempts to present an overview of the various post-war poetic groupings that contributed to the establishment of an experimental tradition within contemporary American poetics.

Laletina, Olga S., and Iwei Zhang. "Describing the verse of Russian émigré poets: Poetry by Nikolay A. Shegolev and its metrical system." Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Language and Literature 18, no. 4 (2021): 661–79. http://dx.doi.org/10.21638/spbu09.2021.402.

Abstract:
The article analyses Russian émigré poetry: it describes the lyric poetry of Russian emigrants in the Far East, its connection to the poetry of the metropolis and the western branch of Russian emigration. The work is focused on one of the least studied issues in the history of Russian émigré poetry, i. e., the specific development of its verse. Lyric poetry by Nikolay A. Shegolev (1910–1975), a poet of the so-called “Russian China”, offers extensive material in this respect. His poetry has been overlooked in terms of academic verse analysis to date; however, many scholars note that he was very much involved in experimental poetry. This article presents the results of a unique comprehensive analysis of Shegolev’s metrical system. The analyzed corpus includes all of Shegolev’s lyric texts available today, i. e., 110 works, 2470 verses. The authors’ analysis embraces the different literary contexts of Russian poetry: Silver age poetry, Soviet poetry, and the émigré poetry of the western branch. Statistical calculations demonstrate that Shegolev’s lyric poetry is distinct due to a vast variety of meters and verse patterns (i. e., combinations of metric and strophic forms). Evidence is provided to substantiate the assumption that in most poems the choice of a particular model is associated with motifs, theme, plot and style. It is concluded that the logic of Shegolev’s experimental verse was shaped by his individual pragmatic vision: in the setting of historic and cultural emigration, the poet was desperately pursuing ways to preserve the connection between pre-revolutionary and Soviet culture, and to naturally synthesize the heritage of classic Russian poetry with Russian poetry of the new era.

Abstract:
This study aims to improve students' lack of interest in writing and analyze their difficulties in expressing feelings and thoughts in the form of poetry. The ability to master diction in writing poetry is a major concern because it affects the quality of their literary works. This study used an experimental method of pretest-posttest control group design consisting of an experimental class that used digital crossword puzzle media and a control class that used clip card media. The data collection methods used in this research include observation, a pilot test, and a test. The research data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the experimental class using digital-based crossword puzzle media experienced a significant increase in the ability to master connotation meaning in writing poetry compared to the control class. This indicates that the media helped improve poetry writing skills by using appropriate diction. The use of digital-based crossword puzzle media can improve the mastery of connotational meaning in writing poetry for phase D students at SMP Negeri 1 Wanayasa. Teachers need to prepare the content and layout of the crossword puzzle, provide concept explanations, and involve learners.

Abstract. This research is motivated by the low writing skills of poetry. This is characterized by students' poetry writing skills that are not productive, still informative, students are still difficult to express their ideas, and are less attractive to students because they only use one technique. One learning technique that can improve poetry writing skills is mind mapping techniques. Mind mapping is also a learning technique to stimulate students' imagination in generating ideas, recording and summarizing using mind mapping. This study aims to examine the effect of Mind Mapping Technique on Poetry Writing Skills of students in elementary school. This study was an experimental study of Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of class V. Sampling is done by saturated sample technique (total sampling), namely VB class as an experimental class and VA class as a control class. The experimental class consisted of 34 students and the control class consisted of 36 students. The instrument used to determine the effect of mind mapping techniques is observation and documentation. The experimental class was treated by using mind mapping techniques in poetry writing skills while the control class without using mind mapping techniques.Based on the results of the pretest obtained the average value of the experimental class 60 and the average value of the control class 64.2. From the results of the comparison of the two sample classes, there was a difference in value of 3.7, so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the two pretest grades, meaning that the two classes have the same initial ability. Next, learning was conducted using mind mapping techniques in the experimental class and learning without mind mapping techniques in the control class. After learning is given then in both classes posttest is conducted. For the experimental class obtained an average value of 82 and for the control class obtained an average value of 77.5. From the results of testing hypotheses with a significant level of 0.05 obtained a significant value of 0,000 because sig. <α, the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of using mind mapping techniques on students' poetry writing skills in elementary school. Abstract:
ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low writing skills of students, which is caused by the lack of variation in teaching methods used by educators. The use of varied and creative teaching methods can make students more active and motivated during learning activities. One creative method that can be used is the experiential learning method. The objectives of this research are to test the author's ability to plan, implement, and evaluate poetry writing lessons using the experiential learning method for students of class X at Pasundan 1 Vocational High School in Bandung; to test the ability of students in class X at Pasundan 1 Vocational High School in writing poetry according to its structural elements; to determine the differences in poetry writing between the experimental class using the experiential learning method and the control class using the discussion method; and to test the effectiveness of the experiential learning method in poetry writing lessons for students of class X at Pasundan 1 Vocational High School in Bandung. In its implementation, the author used a quantitative method. The data obtained consisted of pretest and posttest scores of students from both the experimental and control classes. The findings of this research are as follows: 1) The author was able to plan, implement, and evaluate poetry writing lessons using the experiential learning method, with an average planning score of 3.7 and an average implementation score of 4, which falls into the category of very good. 2) The students' ability in writing poetry showed improvement. In the experimental class, the average pretest score of 57 increased to a posttest score of 77. In the control class, there was an improvement with an average pretest score of 36 increasing to a posttest score of 55. 3) There is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. 4) The experiential learning method is effective in teaching poetry writing. This is evidenced by the Mann-Whitney test results, which revealed a sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on the above explanation, the experiential learning method can be considered as an effective alternative teaching method for writing poetry. Abstract:
This research is motivated by the low ability of students to write. This is caused by the lack of variety of learning models used by educators. The use of varied, creative and innovative learning models can make students more active and motivated during learning activities. One of the learning models that can be used is the self-directed learning model. The purpose of this research was to test the writer's ability to plan, implement, and assess learning to write poetry using the self-directed learning model, to test the ability of class X students at SMAN 9 Bandung in writing poetry, to test the effectiveness of the self-directed learning model in learning to write poetry , as well as to determine differences in writing ability between the experimental class using the self-directed learning model and the control class using the question and answer method. The research method used is a quantitative method with the type of quasi-experimental research using literature review, trial and error, observation, and test techniques. The data obtained were in the form of students' pretest and posttest from both the experimental class and the control class. The results of this study: 1) The author is able to plan, implement, and evaluate learning to write poetry using the self-directed learning model with an average planning score of 3.7 and an implementation value of 3.9. 2) The ability of students in writing poetry has increased with an average pretest score of 55.4 to a posttest with an average score of 82,9. 3) The self-directed learning model is effectively used in learning to write poetry. This is evidenced by the results of the Mann-Whitney test with sig. 0.000 <0.05 there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the explanation above, the self-directed learning model is effectively used in learning to write poetry.

Abstract:
Poetry writing skills are one of the materials that require students to be able to present their written work. Based on the results of observations and interviews at SMP Negeri 4 Muncar, it was found that the eighth grade students had difficulties in writing poetry. Students tend not to be able to distinguish the vocabulary used in poetry and descriptive texts, so that students' work tends to lead to descriptive texts. One of them is the use of inappropriate learning media which affects the limited knowledge of students. In the learning process at SMP Negeri 4 Muncar using print media, namely package books. The use of this textbook is considered less effective in delivering the material, because students do not get real examples of the poem. Therefore, researchers use electronic modules as learning media. This research uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The samples of this study were students of class VIII B as the experimental class and VIII C as the control class. The data in this study were obtained from the results of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental class and the control class. Data analysis in this study used the SPSS 26.0.0 application. This study aims to measure the effect of using electronic modules on poetry writing skills and to determine the differences in poetry writing skills using electronic modules. Based on the value of the pre-test results of the experimental class, the average value was 62.44 and the average value of the post-test results was 84.26. While the results of hypothesis testing are known to be sig.(2tailed) < 0.000 <0.05, there is an effect of using electronic modules on poetry writing skills in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Muncar.

Abstract:
“The earth, for us, is flat and bare. / … Poetry // Exceeding music must take the place / Of empty heaven and its hymns… Such claims saturate Wallace Stevens's work: poetry, Stevens affirms and reaffirms, is a potential source of value in a secular world. This essay tracks his attempts to realize this potential—to write a poem that would satisfy his metaphysical need. His work is relentlessly self-critical and experimental, and over his career he develops extravagant (and ultimately hermetic) responses to a stubborn philosophical problem. My aim is to reframe critical approaches to a central topic in Stevens's poetry and to re-evaluate his relation to philosophy. In the process, I hope to suggest answers to more general questions: What is experimental poetry? How do poets think in verse? Why do poets write difficult poems? What makes a poem difficult in the first place?

Abstract:
The main result of this effectiveness study is that a reading program with a focus on students’ poetry reading processes, based on observational learning via eye movement modeling examples, can improve students’ reading comprehension for different text types. In a pretest-posttest design with an experimental group (ten classes) and a control group (five classes), students’ self-efficacy regarding their own reading process and their reading comprehension were measured. Over a six-week period, teachers of Dutch and their students worked with the six experimental lessons, instead of the regular reading program: students observed and evaluated contrasting peer reading processes, reflected on differences with their own reading process, and then they practiced aspects of a deep reading process. The program resulted in significant progress in the reading comprehension of “expository texts” (ES = .66), “short stories” (ES = .66), and especially “poetry” (ES = .81). Furthermore, the self-efficacy test results show that students in the experimental condition experienced significantly more learning effect after the intervention period than those in the control group. Moreover, based on the learning reports, evaluation tasks and interviews, it appears that the participants in the innovative program have become aware of their reading and how they improved their performance.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article presents a theoretical framework for the author’s experimental work in contemporary poetry, which has received the term cognitive poetry. In contrast to cognitive poetics, which applies the principles of cognitive psychology to interpret poetic texts, cognitive poetry applies these principles to produce poetic texts. The theoretical considerations of cognitive poetry are based on the assumption that one of the major purposes of creative work is to elicit an aesthetical reaction in the beholder. The aesthetical reaction to poetic texts could be achieved via their satiation with multiple meanings presented through multiple sensory modalities. Cognitive poetry employs techniques developed in cognitive psychology to explicitly address cognitive processes underlying the construction of multiple conceptual planes. The following techniques are discussed: priming, the Stroop effect, multimodal and multilingual presentations. The applications of these techniques are illustrated with examples of poetic texts produced by the author.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: This essay examines the contributions of Abraham Cowley's poetry to the development of Royal Society scientific methods in the seventeenth century, particularly through Cowley's clarification of the forms of cognitive bias that Francis Bacon called "idols of the mind." We should understand many of Cowley's poetic choices and stylistic recommendations as part of an effort to illustrate and shape the cognitive habits necessary for experimental science in the Baconian tradition. Beyond stylistic recommendations, Cowley was interested in understanding what makes for accurate perception and reasoned judgment, both of which were essential to poets and experimental scientists alike in this formative period. This essay places Cowley's poetry in the context of seventeenth-century conventions for style and perception among experimental scientists and concludes by examining how Thomas Sprat, Royal Society historian and Cowley's literary executor, understood the value of Cowley's poetry to Royal Society epistemological aims.

Abstract:
Background: The nurses’ moral sensitivity is the first step to make right decisions in difficult moral situations. Therefore, its education and promotion is highly important. Research objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the impact of poetry-based ethics education on the nurses’ moral sensitivity. Research design and methods: This was a semi-experimental study. The sample consisted of 108 nurses who were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to three groups: intervention with poetry (G1), who read a booklet about values and principles of professional ethics as well as poems related to these subjects for 1 month; intervention without poetry (G2), who only read the booklet without any poetry; and control group (G3), who did not receive any intervention. Data were collected by Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire that was completed by the participants prior to the intervention (T1), 1-month post-intervention (T2), and 2-month post-intervention (T3). Data were analyzed by SPSS 16 software. Ethical considerations: This study was conducted in accord with the principles of research ethics and regulations relating to informed consent. Findings: Changes in the mean score of total moral sensitivity were significantly higher in G1 than in G2, which was in turn significantly higher than in G3. This increase was significant from T1 to T2 and T2 to T3 (P < 0.001). In all subscales, there was a significant difference between the mean changes in the three groups, so that in these subscales, the mean changes in G1 were significantly higher than those in other groups. Discussion: In line with previous studies, our results showed the effectiveness of poetry-based education on the transfer of educational concepts and increase moral sensitivity scores with greater lasting effect. Conclusion: The use of interdisciplinary subjects such as poetry, due to its entertaining, fun, and lasting effect on minds; level of awareness; and actions of nurses, can help raise nursing moral sensitivity.

Abstract:
The paper presents an attempt to explore the problem of mediality in Chinese poetry of the last thirty years. New Chinese poetry is particularly susceptible to the influence of the latest concepts of modern art and now more than ever needs a clear contextualization in relation to other forms of culture and avant-garde practice. This can be achieved through applying an analysis paradigm for performative word art developed by Dr. Tomáš Glanc in the context of Czech and Russian neo-avant-garde. It perceives experimental poetry as a form that fulfills a shift of the word thus making it labile. Examples of this phenomena can be found in Chinese poetry in the works of Ouyang Jianghe, Yang Xiaobin, Ouyang Yu, Xia Yu, Chen Li, Xu Bing, Wuqing and many more experimental artists. Their creative use of word shift principles shows how performative strategies are adapted in contemporary Chinese poetry keeping in mind the specific hanzi (character) medium that it is based upon. It seems both a continuation of a long-existing tradition and a radical exploration of the ‘iconic turn’ in the field of language.
