Abstract:

The article discusses the properties of color in prose. Unlike a lyric work, prose comments on the use of color when expressing creative ideas. In the prose context, the static and dynamic manifestations of colors are given. The dynamic manifestation of colors in context is evidenced by examples of the repetition of the same color and the emergence of the primary color through its counterparts. It is also shown that the ratio of color to words and paragraphs in the context determines its importance in the expression of an artistic idea.

Not an expression of enthusiasm or hindrance, Quintana’s verses reveal an ambiguity that can be related to the author’s own oscillation between prose and poetry, modernism and conventionalism, sophistication and directness.</p>

Abstract:

Background:IgG4-Related Disease (IgG4-RD) is characterized by fibrotic lesions, serum IgG4 elevation, and prompt response to glucocorticoids. B and T lymphocytes are considered the initiators of tissue inflammation in IgG4-RD, but the prominent stromal reaction observed at disease sites suggest that a dysregulation of processes involved in the resolution of inflammation could be pathologically relevant as well. Mer receptor tyrosine kinase (MerTK) and its ligands protein S (Pros1) have a pivotal role in the resolution of inflammation through the activation of a well-characterized signaling pathway that ultimately dampens the immune response and promotes the recovery of tissue function. MerTK and the processes involved in the resolution of inflammation have never been addressed in IgG4-RD.Objectives:To investigate MerTK involvement in the pathogenesis of IgG4-RD by evaluating (a) the expression of MerTK and of its endogenous ligands in IgG4-RD tissues; (b) the presence of circulating precursors of MerTK+ cells infiltrating IgG4-RD lesions in the peripheral blood of IgG4-RD patients; (c) the effects of immunosuppressive therapies on MerTK expression in IgG4-RD tissues.Methods:Three distinct cohorts of IgG4-RD patients were included in this study. 8 active patients were used for immunohistochemistry studies for MerTK expression. 16 IgG4-RD and 14 Sjögren syndrome patients, together with 6 control tonsils, were used for multicolor immunofluorescence studies and TissueQuest software quantification of the expression of MerTK, CD68, CD163, Pros1, Gas6, CD4, SLAMF7, CD19, IgG4, cleaved caspase-3. 10 untreated IgG4-RD patients were used to evaluate MerTK expression in circulating monocytes subsets and fibrocytes by flow cytometry.Results:MerTK was highly expressed in IgG4-RD affected organs. MerTK+ cells accounted on average for 16% (range 5-35%) of all cells in the tissue, and the majority of them expressed CD68,reflecting a monocyte-macrophage origin. 33.5 % (interquartile range (IQR) 26-41%) of MerTK+ cells co-expressed CD68 and CD163, while 30.5% (IQR 19-41.5%) expressed CD68 but not CD163. CD68+MerTK+ cells displayed two main morphological appearances, compatible with those of macrophages and of myofibroblasts. In addition, MerTK+ cell number was significantly increased in salivary glands from IgG4-RD patients compared to Sjögren syndrome (p < 0.0001). Circulating precursors of CD68+MerTK+ cells infiltrating IgG4-RD lesions were identified by flow cytometery in the peripheral blood of patients with active IgG4-RD as MerTK+ populations of intermediate monocytes, nonclassical monocytes and collagen expressing fibrocytes. MerTK ligand Pros1 was exposed on 52% (IQR 42-57%) of infiltrating B lymphocytes, 74% (IQR 54-89%) of infiltrating T lymphocytes, and, likely, on apoptotic cells that were detected in IgG4-RD tissues. CD68+MerTK+ cells were found in physical contact with Pros1+ cells in IgG4-RD lesions and their number decreased by 56% after successful treatment with rituximab.Conclusion:MerTK is abundant in IgG4-RD affected organs and is preferentially expressed on CD68+ macrophages and myofibroblasts that infiltrate IgG4-RD lesions. MerTK+ cells might interact with apoptotic cells and Pros1 expressing T and B lymphocytes in IgG4-RD tissues, leading to the persistent activation of processes involved in the resolution of inflammation and promoting the development of tissue fibrosis.Disclosure of Interests:None declared

Tokareva is interested in such moral categories as mental uneasiness, the need for self-expression, the fear of loneliness. These categories are never addressed by low-quality, purely entertaining writers, where the reader becomes an “imaginer” or “dreamer,” a passive consumer and observer. Abstract:

Background Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common type of thyroid cancer (TC). Considering the important association between cellular immunity and PTC progression, it is worth exploring the biological significance of immune-related signaling in PTC. Methods Several bioinformatics tools, such as R software, WEB-based Gene SeT AnaLysis Toolkit (WebGestalt), Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID), Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes (STRING) and Cytoscape were used to identify the immune-related hub genes in PTC. Furthermore, in vitro experiments were adopted to identify the proliferation and migration ability of PROS1 knockdown groups and control groups in PTC cells. Results The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of five datasets from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) contained 154 upregulated genes and 193 downregulated genes, with Protein S (PROS1) being the only immune-related hub gene. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) have been conducted to prove the high expression of PROS1 in PTC. Moreover, PROS1 expression was significantly correlated with lymph nodes classification. Furthermore, knockdown of PROS1 by shRNAs inhibited the cell proliferation and cell migration in PTC cells. Conclusions The findings unveiled the clinical relevance and significance of PROS1 in PTC and provided potential immune-related biomarkers for PTC development and prognosis.

The article considers the main ways of expressing speech acts of advice in the system of modern Udmurt language. An empiric material collected from the literary sources of Udmurt prose of the 1920s-90s shows that imperative speech acts of advice can be expressed explicitly and implicitly. To express advice explicitly, the Udmurt language use specific forms, such as imperative sentences, participial forms and causative verbs. For implicit expression of advice, non-specific forms are used, mainly interrogative and declarative sentences, the imperative function of which is secondary.

Abstract:

The TAM subfamily (Tyro3, Axl, MerTK) of receptor tyrosine kinases are implicated in several cancers, where they have been shown to support primary tumorigenesis as well as secondary resistance to cancer therapies. Relatively little is known about the oncogenic role of Tyro3, including its ligand selectivity and signalling in cancer cells. Tyro3 showed widespread protein and mRNA expression in a variety of human cancer cell lines. In SCC-25 head and neck cancer cells expressing both Tyro3 and Axl, Western blotting showed that both natural TAM ligands ProS1 and Gas6 rapidly stimulated Tyro3 and Erk kinase phosphorylation, with ProS1 eliciting a greater effect. In contrast, Gas6 was the sole stimulator of Axl and Akt kinase phosphorylation. In MGH-U3 bladder cancer cells, which express Tyro3 alone, ProS1 was again the stronger stimulator of Tyro3 and Erk stimulation but additionally stimulated Akt phosphorylation. Conditioned medium from ProS1-secreting 786-0 kidney cancer cells replicated the kinase activation effects of recombinant ProS1 in SCC-25 cells, with specificity confirmed by ProS1 ligand traps and warfarin. In addition, ProS1 protected cancer cells from acute apoptosis induced by staurosporine, as well as additionally, long-term serum starvation-induced apoptosis in MGH-U3 cells (Tyro3 only), which reflects its additional coupling to Akt signalling in these cells. In conclusion, we have shown that ProS1 is a tumour-derived functional ligand for Tyro3 that supports cancer cell survival. Furthermore, the ProS1-Tyro3 interaction is primarily coupled to Erk signalling although it displays signalling diversity dependent upon its representative expression as a TAM receptor in tumour cells.

ResumoA arte como representação e expressão do Sujeito, ou do Humano, é uma concepção marcante nos discursos Psi. O cinema e a literatura são utilizados como campo expressivo do reconhecimento do funcionamento psíquico. Deseja-se neste artigo problematizar este recurso metodológico. À luz das análises de Walter Benjamin sobre a prosa poética de Charles Baudelaire e sua relação com a cidade, pretende-se indagar sobre os efeitos ético-políticos desta metodologia da representação. A categoria de aura proposta por Walter Benjamin, assim como a da imagem como truque, utilizada por pesquisadores da história do cinema, são ferramentas fundamentais para a argumentação do artigo. No uso destas categorias, objetiva-se por em análise o caráter pedagógico, pastoral, da aura da arte e do artista utilizado por profissionais Psi. O artigo aposta, à luz de Walter Benjamin, entre outros autores, na dessacralização da experiência artística, na afirmação laica do artista e da arte. AbstractAs representation and expression of the Subject, or of the Human, Art is a striking concept within Psy discourses. Cinema and literature are used as an expressive field for the recognition of psychic functioning. This article problematises this methodological resource. In light of Walter Benjamin's analysis of Charles Baudelaire's poetic prose and his relationship with the city, we seek to inquire upon the ethical-political effects of this methodology of representation. The category of aura proposed by Walter Benjamin, as well as that of the image as deception, as used by researchers in the history of cinema, are fundamental tools for the argumentation of this article. By using these categories, we look to analyse the pedagogical and pastoral character of the aura of Art and the artist as used by Psy professionals. The article relies on Walter Benjamin as well as other authors to profane artistic experience and the secular affirmation of the artist and Art. Abstract:

The article examines the use of syntactic stylistic devices in scientific prose. Sentences with emphatic do have been singled out among the great number of syntactic stylistic devices. The numerous examples with the emphatic do in English scientific prose confirm the hypotheses put forward by R. Budagov, S.S. Gusev, N.M. Razinkina, S.K. Gasparyan that a great number of stylistic devices are used in the language of science. The emphatic do in English scientific prose is not confined to the emphatic function only. The individuality of the author can often be easily traced in these examples. Through the use of the constructions with the emphatic do, the author expresses his opinion towards the idea stated. These structures often turn into an integral part of the language of science. Combined with other stylistic devices and expressive means they help the author to exert certain influence on the reader.

Abstract Summary Public RNA-Sequencing (RNA-Seq) datasets are a valuable resource for transcriptome analyses, but their accessibility is hindered by the imperfect quality and presentation of their metadata and by the complexity of processing raw sequencing data. The Curse suite was created to alleviate these problems. It consists of an online curation tool named Curse to efficiently build compendia of experiments hosted on the Sequence Read Archive, and a lightweight pipeline named Prose to download and process the RNA-Seq data into expression atlases and co-expression networks. Curse networks showed improved linking of functionally related genes compared to the state-of-the-art. Abstract:

The author introduces the expressive potential of derivational means in Ivan Bunin’s prose. It is noted that the writer consistently avoided occasional word formation. Innovations in his works are potential in nature and few in number. The study is aimed at identifying expressive derivational means and determining their functions in the prose of Bunin. The resources were analysed with descriptive and structural-semantic methods. The author distinguishes the groups of derivational means significant for Bunin’s idiostyle: complex adjectives and adverbs with a trope component in their composition, folk etymological formations and expressive derivational dialectisms. Morphemic repetition is considered as essential for Bunin’s prose. It performs the intensifying-distinguishing and text-forming functions and serves to deploy a certain motif and theme as well as to create a word picture. Actualisation of derivational relations in Bunin’s prose reveals the implied sense of the text.

Abstract:

Despite lots of works on I.S. Turgenev’s style the language of his prose is not enough studied. The article deals with used in his works expressive derivational means. This article purpose is to define types and functions of derivational units in the prose by I.S. Turgenev. It is defined authorial innovations, analyzed their derivational structure and the link with the narration structure. The main attention is paid to compound adjectives and adverbs that function as epithets. These words generally name colours and characterize the exterior and inner world of characters. The morphemic repeat (root and affixal) is considered as expressive derivational means peculiar to Turgenev’s individual style. It is defined its functions and the connection with the set of images of the text. It’s marked that the repeat of words with the component polu- is used very often. The author concludes that the expressive derivational means can be considered as one of the specification of Turgenev’s individual style.

Abstract:

The paper deals with coloristic means in the works by the well-known Ukrainian writer-Sixtier. It focuses on the functions of colors and color effects in the text, their analogues in painting, and the role of the colors in showing semantic and mood accents or expressing some implicated meanings. The researcher traces accordance of the literary means with expressive resources of painting art as they are recorded in the theory of art. Throughout all the periods of the writer’s creative work the prose by V. Drozd shows the author’s attention to the plastic wealth of the outside world and its coloristic potential. The search for the graphic forms of a psychological analysis, as well as the mood dominant, the background of event, the expressive color markers of semantic accents or meaningful image components of exposition, and, after all, the very painting-like modeling of the landscape or interior, stimulated new graphic experiments that renewed and deepened aesthetic impact of a literary work on a reader, due to the culture of visual perception and constructive imagination. The ﬁrst attempts of verbal design and color rendering in V. Drozd’s works still testify to his literary apprenticeship showing excessively decorative nature, unambiguity of semantic associations, bright hues and chromatic saturation that looks rather as adopted from pictures and not taken from nature. Such artistic approach to the theme generates enormous, and at the same time ideologically typical, pathos associated with aesthetics of socialistic realism and therefore with the teaching function of art. The development of coloristic culture in the works of the prose writer is rooted in his attention to the rich range of hues, their emotional and expressive potential, and also in the author’s desire to show a psychological action in a more plastic and suggestive way. In order to reproduce the coloristic variety of sensory experience and underline important semantic implications the writer skillfully works on the parameters of achromatic light environment which becomes symbolized or transformed in a fantastic and hyperbolic way due to the expressive function of light markers. The light and color contrasts or combinations of hues may underline some essential semantic aspects of the verbal picture components within the reproduction of a landscape. The analysis of ﬁgurative and modeling means proves the artistic functionality of the verbal analogues of painting in V. Drozd’s prose, and its consistency with the aesthetic dominants of the Sixtiers.

Abstract:

The objective was to identify gene expression profile of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. To help improve diagnosis of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma, we performed gene expression profiling and compared it to pair normal thyroid tissues. We performed microarray analysis with 6 papillary thyroid microcarcinoma and 6 pair normal thyroid tissues. Differentially expressed genes were selected using paired t test, linear models for microarray data, and significance analysis of microarrays. Real-time quantitative reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction was used to validate the representative 10 genes (MET, TIMP1, QPCT, PROS1, LRP4, SDC4, CITED1, DPP4, LRRK2, RUNX2). We identified 91 differentially expressed genes (84 upregulated and 7 downregulated) in the gene expression profile and validated 10 genes of the profile. We identified a significant genetic difference between papillary thyroid microcarcinoma and normal tissue by 10 upregulated genes greater than 2-fold (P < 0.05).

Outlaw is one of the archetypes in world literature. Honghuzi is the eastern version of the image of the outlaw. As his counterpart in European literature, he expressed the ambiguity, the ambivalence of human nature. Unlike the characters of F. Schiller, A.S. Pushkin and others, the image of Honghuzi is the least marked by romantic features. In the prose of the Russian emigrant writers of the Harbin diaspora, Honghuzi expresses the Chinese mentality; the specifics of orientalism are projected onto him, and at the same time its image is extremely objective, which primarily characterizes the prose of P.V. Shkurkin - the author of the ethnographic prose about the outlaws of the border zone of the Russian Far East, Manchuria, Korea and Mongolia. The context consists of the works by Shi Naian, Pushkin, Schiller, English folklore, etc. Comparative analysis allows us to identify the individual features of the artistic perception of the Honghuzi's activities by Shkurkin. It is proved that the interpretation of Honghuzi by Shkurkin is close to the image of the robber in Chinese, English, German literature, along with Russian literature of the XIX-XX centuries.

Abstract:

The article reviews the scientific literature and traces the main trends in the development of postmodern text and the development of expressive syntax as a stylistic construction during the XX – XXI centuries. Particular attention is paid to the work of domestic and foreign linguists. The main focus is on the study of metasymbolization of metaphorization and metonymization processes with their basic techniques and means that create the emotionally expressive background of prose text. The basic and auxiliary functions of syntactic-stylistic markers in the novels of German postmodernists are examined in details. The syntax of the German language written postmodern prose text is expressive of the processes of metaphorization and metonymization, implicit means known as the “metasymbolization” of syntactic and stylistic units. The process of metaphorization of expressive means of German language postmodern prose is due to allegory, symbolism, and synesthesia. The most typical type of metaphorization was personification. Metonymization in the texture of writing prose text is considered based on spatial and temporal, material and causal, associative and logical and quantitative relationships. Metonymy is syntactic in nature, compared to the semantic nature of metaphor. Functional approach to the study of syntactic-stylistic markers of German expressive syntax in postmodern texts is based on functionalism as a methodology and guided by its basic research principles, since it is in the functions of the syntactic-stylistic markers that the true intentions and reinforce of the postmodern author are strengthened. We see the perspective of our research in a comprehensive comparison of the German-speaking postmodern text of German, Austrian and Swiss postmodernists.

Abstract:

Introduction. The subject of the research is complex syntactic whole (CSW), the components of which are united by a chain connection. It identifies the structural correlation of this connection, and examines tools for its implementation. Materials and Methods. The material of the study is prosaic works by K. G. Abramov. The main method is descriptive. It was used to analysis of structural correlation and means of expression in the organization of CSW in the prose of the writer. Results and Discussion. The article revealed that chain connection can be defined by structural correlation, in other words, by which models form the members of related sentences that are related to each other, and by the way these models are expressed. It is noted that in the prosaic works by K. G. Abramov the following models are the most common: “subject – subject”, “subject – object”, “object – object” and their varieties. They can be made explicitly and implicitly. The means of expressing explicit communication are lexical repetition, implicit one is periphrasis and pronominal substitutions, adverb, etc. The writer also uses root words referring to different parts of speech (one of the correlating members of a sentence is usually a predicate). Conclusion. The components of CSW combined by chain connection are an expressive and fine structure. Consistently developable repetition (explicit or implicit) “glue” these components and make the impression of visualization; they are designed for artistic effect. From phrase to phrase repetitive structures (words, word combination) vary its syntactic role as members of the sentence and they also vary its composition.

If psychologism artistic method has reached to the high level of development in Azerbaijani literature from the second half of the twentieth century, the development of psychologism in world literature dates back to the beginning of the previous century. Thus, the development of psychologism in Azerbaijani prose associates its roots to world literature. There are many artists in the world literature who write with psychologism method. Many of them can be named. But I would like to focus on the great classic writer Leo Tolstoy. He had influenced to readers' spirit and heart with his works, had an irresistible influence on the development of their personalities by cultivating in them the best human qualities, aroused love to the motherland, people, language, nature and the world. I think that Tolstoy, used the most unique methods of psychologism, also had an impact on Azerbaijani literature. It is more correct to evaluate the manifestation features of psychologism in Azerbaijani prose by conducting comparative analysis. And in this article research has been conducted on the subject of psychologism in L.N. Tolstoy and in the Azerbaijani prose of 1960-1980 within the comparative typological aspect. It had been considered legitimate here identification of not only similarities, but also inconsistencies during the interpretation of the analysis. In the article, in both Azerbaijani prose and Tolstoy's creativity the heroes' spiritual world have been characterized through expression possibilities of psychologism: internal monologues, dialogues, actions and behaviors, dreams and fantasy, writer's prose, etc., and the heroes' appearance have also been shown as part of the image, to create a fuller imagination. As a result, in both Azerbaijani prose and Tolstoy's creativity, different and similar features in the expression methods of psychologism have been extensively analyzed. Abstract The anticoagulant Protein S (PS) is coded for by the PROS1 gene and serves as a co-factor to APC in the inactivation of FVa and FVIIIa. It is produced predominately by the liver. Low PS levels are associated with an increased thrombotic risk. Clinically it is well documented that circulating PS levels are reduced in response to heightened estrogen (E2) levels (oral contraceptive use, pregnancy, etc.). However, an explanation as to how this is occurring at the molecular level has not yet been elucidated. Two approaches have been utilized. Firstly, a liver carcinoma cell line, HepG2, was exposed to 5 and 10nM concentrations of testosterone (T) and E2 for 6, 12 and 24h at which point’s total RNA was extracted and quantitated using real-time PCR. Secondly, a reporter plasmid pQH5′[2]DsRed2 was constructed that has 948bp of the PROS1 promoter region (up to but not including the ATG start codon) fused to an enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) reporter gene sequence. A second reporter gene, DsRed2, was incorporated into pQH5′[2]DsRed2, and is constitutively expressed by a cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter. This provides a means of standardizing any change in expression of the EGFP reporter. pQH5′[2]DsRed2 was transiently transfected into a breast cell carcinoma line MCF7 [chosen for its high levels of oestrogen receptor alpha (ERα)] and subsequently exposed to 5 and 10nM concentrations of E2 and T for 24h. Expression levels were assessed using a COULTER EPICS flow cytometer. The HepG2 6, 12 and 24h PROS1 mRNA hormone response experiment showed an erratic response to E2. However there were consistently higher levels of PROS1 mRNA over time in response to T compared to the vehicle alone. Higher levels still were evident for the 10nM concentration. The transient transfection of pQH5′[2]DsRed2 into MCF7s followed by a 24h exposure of either T or E2 at 5 and 10nM concentrations, showed a significant change in response to both the 5 and 10nM concentrations of E2, but little response to either of the T concentrations These results suggest that E2 is exerting a direct effect on the promoter of PROS1, down regulating transcription, reflecting clinical observations. However, T may be affecting PROS1 mRNA stability via a yet undetermined mechanism. Therefore, hormonal regulation of PS may be occurring at several levels of the overall production process.

Nowadays achievements in metaphor studying make it possible to state that the nature of metaphor comprises mental and figurative features. Trying to fix the ideal, metaphor like any mental image may be expressed by means of natural language instruments. The mediate demonstration of the ideal nature makes metaphor verbalization and the one of the mental image nondescript that is aggravated by their core similarity and absence of special figures of mental images expressionand taking into consideration their all principal possibilities to be verbalized. The author of the article has faced the taxonomic problem of characterization of Ye.I. Zamyatin’scertain emotive prose texts according to the type of their imagery. The literal material of Zamyatin’semotive prose discourse analyzed in the article shows practical difficulty of interpreting mental images in accordance with their nature. The study has made a parametric succession of constituents included in metaphorical and mental images notions due to the methods of contextual analysis of the natural language text, as well as self-observation as an empiric analysis of the language material, and theoretical synthesis of speech experience with further schematization. The succession is applied to the analysis of Zamyatin’s texts. The research data may be used for the interpretation and analysis of any emotive prose text since mental images are often intentionally verbalized as an expressive means and metaphorical ones.

Abstract The rise of prose in Greece has been linked to broader cultural and intellectual developments under way in the classical period. Prose has also been characterized as challenging poetry's traditional status as the privileged expression of the culture. Yet throughout the classical period and beyond, poetry was still regularly invoked as the yardstick by which innovation was measured. This paper investigates how poetry figures in the earliest accounts of prose style. Focusing on Isocrates, Alcidamas, and Aristotle, it argues that although each author distinguishes between the styles of prose and poetry, none is able to sustain the distinction consistently. The criteria for what constitutes an acceptable level of poeticality in prose were unstable. The diverse conceptions of poetic style were tied to intellectual polemics and professional rivalries of the early- to mid-fourth century bce and reflect competing aims and ideals for rhetorical performance in prose.

Abstract:

The paper considers the means of representing space in Yevhen Hutsalo’s prose which are suitable for comparison with the painting technique. Coloring is one of determining graphic resources of a picture. The artistic effect of the ﬁgures and spatial compositions ﬁxed on canvas is to a great extent predeﬁned by the color solution of the subjects and air environment depicted. In order to make the world of imagination more representational the literature used to involve visual imagery in a verbal design, in which color and light markers not only specify a representation of ﬁctitious or real situation but also give some lyrical, epical or dramatic coloring to the narration, increasing the expressivity of a picture. In the descriptions of landscapes in the short stories by Yevhen Hutsalo one may ﬁnd the verbal analogues of such painting tools as color dominant, color harmony, lighted up and shaded areas. The dynamics of color solution in a verbal picture, the introduction of new hues and their combinations, and the constructing of light environments help to strengthen the emotional effect of the narration and make some special mood accents. The change of chromatic range and interpretation of painting components of the verbal image liken the narration to the melodious and sound transitions in music and editing tools in ﬁlmmaking. The color effects contribute to plasticity of the represented objects or, on the contrary, make their representation less material, give some decorative or symbolic sense to the nature. The story “On the Shining Horizon” may be compared to the cycle of paintings by Oscar-Claude Monet “Rouen Cathedral”. The unsteady landscape of Y. Hutsalo is marked by interpretative activity of the narrator. The landscape descriptions with a less vivid and not too rich, i. e. comparatively weak in terms of stimulating emotions, color range are also endowed with a noticeable expressive potential. In accordance with the requirements of expression in painting the verbal chiaroscuro also may give dynamics to relatively static environment. The paper offers a comparative analysis of the verbal ‘pictures’ and their corresponding paintings-predecessors.

Abstract:

AbstractThis article explores the moment of “invention” of the Hebrew mood. Around the year 1900 a new expression for mood appeared in Hebrew: matsav ruah. The articulation of a new linguistic expression was paralleled by the rise of an original atmospheric prose, mood prose, in Hebrew. By analyzing these parallel events, the article suggests that the matsav ruah of the early 1900s was a new form of self-experience and that this new form stimulated original poetic language created by a cohort of Hebrew, East European writers, including Yosef Hayim Brenner, Uri Nissan Gnessin, and others. The author suggests that, with mood, Hebrew prose figuratively stretched language itself, giving form to a new sense of “being there.” Furthermore, this poetics of mood offered authors an alternative to psychological realist prose and to the fixed subject position it implied. Thus, this article suggests that Hebrew phrasing and poetics of mood offer a potent concept for the analysis of epistemological foundations of early twentieth-century modernism in Hebrew literature while drawing an outline for a wider, comparative view on early twentieth-century European modernism in light of the concept of mood.

Abstract:

The article examines the cognitive specificity of lyric prose texts as a product of discursive activity. The semantic space of lyric prose texts decodes images of cultural memory as an interpretive category of cognitive linguopoetics. The meaning-generating mechanisms of lyric prose texts are focused on reflecting the ego-perception of reality, which explicates the cultural and value attitudes of the author. In cognitive linguopoetics, architectonics represents the semantic essence and integrity of the lyric prose text, since it is a discursive and pragmatic manifestation of its semantic continuum. Through the prism of the architectonics of the text, the associative-figurative tonality of the semantic content of the artistic text is decoded. That is why the concept of architectonics integrates two principles: a) the creative-discursive potential of text generation and b) a multi-vector palette of discursive consciousness, which is motivated by the experience of lyrical speech thinking. The essence of lyric prose texts is determined by the lyrical architectonics of sensory-emotional and aesthetic integrity, which is motivated by poetic reflexems, representing a discursively conditioned scan of reality, passed through the prism of expressive-figurative perception of the egotope.
