Abstract:
Human beings possess external stores in which they put all sorts of goods to use them at some later time. In this paper we investigate this typically human adaptation using agent-based simulations. We show that the use of external stores explains many aspects of human life, allowing the agents to reduce their dependence on both the environment and the current state of their body and to be more efficient in extracting the energy contained in the environment. We analyse the spatial behaviour of agents with external stores located in specific positions of the environment and we find that these ag

Impulsive buying behavior occurs when consumers are in store outlets, so they feel the internal and external influences of the store's environmental situation which can affect consumers in a continuous process, especially in retail stores. The purpose of this study is to analyze internal and external influences which are the driving factors for consumers to make purchase decisions and make impulsive purchases. This paper presents a method for achieving realism required by recent DoD tailoring documents. Use of this approach can be cost-effective for modeling realistic external-store environmental vibration stresses, where no measured data is available. The emphasis presented herein is in tailoring vibration levels to actual mission-defined captive and free-flight profiles. This approach uses a "maximum predicted environment" derived from the statistical analyses of 1839 random vibration flight data measurements made on six different external stores. In aspirin-treated platelets the thrombin-induced increase of cytosolic Ca2+ ([Ca2+]i) associated with the release from the intracellular stores is followed by a decrease to the baseline which is largely dependent on the re-uptake into the stores. This is shown by the further increase of [Ca2+]i upon inhibition of the endomembrane Ca(2+)-ATPase with thapsigargin. The re-uptake of Ca2+ into the stores is accelerated by sodium nitroprusside (SNP) or prostacyclin (PGI2). In all cases, after store depletion with thapsigargin the influx of external Ca2+ is maximal. After a thrombin-induced cycle of

In aviation, using external stores under the wings is a common method of carrying payload or fuel. In some cases, the payload can be rigidly attached to the wing. However, stores must often be ejected during flight for aircraft, such as military type, which carry drop tanks and missiles. This may cause the wing to respond dynamically with increasing amplitudes, due to the impulsive load of ejection and the change of total mass. This is especially critical in aircraft with highly flexible wings, such as those with high aspect ratios. In this case, it is crucial to evaluate the wing response to

Stores with similar geometrical properties can still behave in different ways due to aerodynamic interference caused by adjacent surfaces.

To improve the scaling performance, this work focuses on investigating two CF

Due to the large number of possible store combinations, wind tunnel tests – the primary approach to obtaining loads data – cannot be performed for all configurations. Instead, supplementary techniques to estimating loads are necessary. One approach is to use information from another store and adapt it, using so-called scaling methods, to the non-tested store. France was a country that had great agricultural potential and natural resources that allowed it to not be dependent on external markets, especially raw materials from the North. French ports, however, maintained close relations with the Baltic countries where they marketed many products and obtained supplies of naval stores and, depending on the economic situation, cereals. This paper proposes to revisit the French trade with the Baltic over a period of two centuries by using the Sound Toll Accounts whose entire data is now available to the research community.
